Same boat -- processing trauma to create change in oneself ain't for the pickmes! It's tough AF but worth it. I highly recommend solution-focused CBT therapy. Also check out the YouTube channel Therapy in a Nutshell. She has many videos about processing trauma and other topics that are so good!!!

I would read that as, "I want you to cook for me." No thanks!

Love to see this! I also ended a texting situationship that had gone on for about a month and he had shocked Pikachu face to discover I didn't want to text every day if it wasn't going anywhere. Cheers to leveling up!! 🍾🥂

Mmmm I'm going to push back on this a bit -- I'm sick of the trope in storytelling where a female vigilante has to be hyper sexual before exacting revenge on a man. Like I wouldn't be engaging in loose sexual activities with a dude while wearing some sexy costume when I could just hit them over the head with a tire iron, you know? Let's be real, this sort of film is written this way so the dudes in charge will finance it.

Please don't plan on using a knife as a weapon unless you're trained in combat use. You have to be really close to use it effectively, it's physicaIly tough to stab through muscle and bone, and if you don't hit like an artery you won't stop the person or even slow them down. It's also the most likely weapon to be taken and used against you. Get a tactical flashlight at least 300 lumens (effective way to blind and disorient intruders even in daylight) and a baseball bat -- particular one that's w…

Also accept them gaslighting you for being "crazy and jealous" if you display any legit concerns about red flags. (Like them only keeping in touch with female friends, or sitting in cars with their female co-workers late at night "just chatting.")

Right? I honestly think he was trying to be fun and cute. Oh yeah -- I LOVE waiting in line at a crowded ass store for shit I don't want/need and then again at the post office 'cause it's the holidays and they're understaffed. Please whisper more sweet nothings into my ear! 🤣

You aren't alone and I know for a fact so many of us are going through this! (In fact, I would suspect some of the people commenting how gross and unwomanly it is.) FDS has so many good principles but there does seem to be a mindset about the importance of LTR's leading to marriage and keeping home like a 1950's housewife which are personally not my priorities in life. I would like to learn to decorate my home better so at least this thread inspired that!

So true. It's basically like if you are messy or struggling to hold it together during this time you somehow aren't a woman. How are people missing 99% of the trash is pandemic related? Also I'm a very HVW but I've always sucked at decorating. Seems sexist to imply we're all born to decorate or keep a home otherwise we're not women enough. Lastly there's like two cats, it's definitely not a hoarding situation.

This x1000. Thank you for expressing that so eloquently! Being HV doesn't = perfect. Also we are living in unprecedented times and I'm happy to see what reasonated with me as an authentic representation of struggling to have normalcy during the pandemic.

I see it more as here's this beautiful woman who online seems like she has her life together -- but we're all hanging by a thread because it's a pandemic and we're stick inside dealing with uncertainty/depression. Art is subjective and I think nuance should be allowed in the FDS community. Especially when most people commenting have no background information on his career/work.

I'm going to go against the grain here...Adrian Tomine is an awesome artist who created a comic I love, Optic Nerve, which has a lot of interesting BIPOC and female protagonists. Most of his characters are eccentric/flawed and TBH I think this cover is great and says something about the times we're in (to me it's more about Coronavirus and social isolation than gender.)

Not trying to hate on anyone but in a pandemic OLD feels extra low value.

Agree with the speed/intensity/trusting your gut. Also, pay attention to the reactions of others around you, particularly those you trust. My ex sent a huge flower arrangement to my office about a week after we started dating and my (male) boss made a face when he saw it and said "that's weird." I wish I'd thought more or asked him about why he had that reaction.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
