making ridiculously racist, ignorant statements is automatically wrong But it doesn't automatically make the statement itself wrong

So if a statement is offensive it is obviously and automatically incorrect. Huh, TIL

Why only women? Men can be harassed, too! Participation in Back Up Project does not require you to coldly ignore any men who need help! However, it is not an equal situation. Differences in the way men and women are socialized (on average--individual people will of course vary), compounded by the numerical imbalance between the genders at many fannish events, and a number of other factors that are beyond the scope of this FAQ, mean that this is a problem that is experienced far more frequently b…

Why should they feel that way?

This strikes me in the same way as there being a Miss Black America pageant. Somehow that is A-OK and not at all racist, but God forbid anything along the lines of a Miss White America pageant (not that there should be, just like there should not be a Miss Black America pageant). How is one of these things any better than the other?

You have to be very careful about trying to drop these "subtle" hints. I have a friend who constantly does this and at first I would play along and ask her a question. Now it has gotten to the point where I just don't care at all whenever she uses this as an obvious cry for attention and act like I didn't hear her. It just makes her seem like a huge attention whore (which she is).

I don't agree with your post, but I'm seeing so much downvoting of opposing views in feminism and musculity threads. It's getting old

No, I completely agree. There is nothing worse than it being late at night with freezing weather when some juvenile dick thinks "DURR HURR TIME TO TROLL" and pulls the alarm. Not to mention that as you said, it is a burden on the FD. Just a waste of time, resources, and possibly even lives.

Thankfully there is an equation just for this sort of situation. (A/2)+7=a where: A=Your Age a=Minimum acceptable age of target So for you (34), you shouldn't go after anyone younger than 24. It's not perfect but this is what I've heard.

Agreed. While I am extremely grateful that the friend ended up doing the right thing, it also scares me to know that originally she was on board and actually went to the police station to help file the report. Had she been an unwilling participant to begin with or did she experience a change of heart? What if she had waited much longer to come clean, or worse, never gathered up the courage? I hate hearing these sort of stories because regardless of whether I want it to or not, it warps my view o…

This is kind of pathetic to be perfectly honest. If you let someone walk all over you like that there is more wrong in the situation than just your choice in women.

Your double standards are so intriguing. I'm especially interested in how they always seem to benefit you. /shrug

"Asian Culture" rofl. Like there's one Wait a tick..... only undesirable asian women date white men Hot asian women date asian men, and its a realllllll big stigma to be caught "dating down" with a white dude. Quite astounding. May I ask what sort of accident you were in to give you such a short term memory?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
