This is literally ALL I get when I find the strength to go on dating apps. Just endless lines of men who are simple value that they can't even see my standards, let alone meet them...

This is so true.

My last Nex did this too. I'd learned enough from my Nex husband to go absolutely No Contact when we broke up (after a ten week fling - enough to see his true colours!). He sent various texts and emails to friends and family with absolutely no response (they also know how to deal with this behaviour - a sad truth). He then stalked me for a while on dating apps. In the end he wrote me a long ass letter (very FRIENDS - it was eight pages, front and back). Didn't read a word, just tore it up and th…

If anyone starts telling you how you feel or how you should feel then you need to block and move on. It's abusive and just gets worse...

This is what I was gonna say. 20% of the extra work, but 50% less mess (if not more cos man, can men make a mess!)

Hehe I didn't even mention the clothes! I was looking for a dress for another event and said that I didn't have anything to wear (which is very true). He then offered to take me shopping for an outfit and it went from there... I probably would have said no to anything too expensive, but it worked out well and I got three dresses and a jacket lol. With the relationship, I just stick to my boundaries and my principles and he either follows my lead or he doesn't. He seems to be following for the ti…

This is UNHEARD of for me. All my friends are wildly jealous and also over the moon that I'm so happy. I've never had a man buy me clothes. Ever. I never would have accepted gifts if it wasn't for FDS. The way I was brought up was to do everything equally and pay for everything 50/50 but a) I can't afford anything right now and b) he wants to buy me stuff to show he cares. Why should I stop him? If he's gonna spring for a lovely night out for dinner and drinks, then least I can do is look like t…

We went to a posh pub for a Sunday roast. Noms. We're very stuck in the UK cos nothing was really open when we met a few weeks ago.

So I did, apologies. I meant from way back in the past - when I was young and stupid in my 20s and 30s hahahaha... I don't have to have feelings for a guy to have sex with them. There is a history of abuse and I don't really look at sex as an intimate act. I'm also into kink and been in a fetish community for a long time so I compartmentalise sex very well. I can't remember the last time I had sex with someone who actually cared for me so it's an interesting concept lol My bf and I have talked a…

I definitely think you should vet him and find out more about him. As someone who's recently lost a ton of weight, in sure my new confidence and all round badassery helps me to be attractive so that could be why? Personally, I'd chat to him and ask him why he's noticed you now...

I don't have sex with men on first dates. Absolutely no idea where you got that from.

Aw thanks. I do find that there is a real fear/dislike of OLD which is such a shame as it puts people off. There are so many women out there who can't meet men in any other way for lots of reasons, but especially in the middle of a global pandemic. OLD gets a bad wrap, but thousands of people develop successful relationships from using this method. It definitely can work. For me, it's much easier than trying to find a single man of a certain age organically lol. Maybe it's easier when you're in …

Oh there's a long list 🤣 Filters before matching or replying to any message would be to check their : looks (no men of colour or bald heads) location (no further than 20 miles away) what they're looking for (a relationship) and double check their profile for toxic, controlling or negative language. You'll be surprised how easy it is to spot LVM from their profiles My bio/profile was very explicit and I tried to be helpful to men in terms of what conversations they could start plus what I'm looki…

Hahaha we met on Bumble but I suspect we would probably have bumped into each other at some point anyway cos we love all of the same stuff and it's feels like fate definitely wants us to be together (if you believe in that kind of stuff)... Everything's pretty much shut right now so I would just stick with OLD if I was still single. I suspect we'll be back in and out of various lockdown situations for at least the next year. I feel like I nailed down my OLD filtering and boundaries so it made OL…

I already had very firm boundaries and knew what I wanted but here's what I did: - reassessed what I wanted in a man and made a list - reviewed my boundaries and reaffirmed them on writing and in my mindset. Made sure I understood why each one was in place. - let him chase me a lot for the first few days. I didn't message first when the conversation died out - did not do a 'coffee date'. We started talking as lockdown eased in the UK. It was easier to do coffee, but I stick to a more formal date…

I'M SO EXCITED! Been dating a lovely man for a few weeks and today we went shopping - he bought me three dresses and a lovely jacket. He would have bought me a bag, shoes and underwear if I'd have let him. I firmly suspect he's a HVM and I'm over the moon. I've applied loads of FDS and wouldn't have got so far (or accepted gifts) without this sub. Thanks, ladies! ♥️

I know. It's so shit and I would think the same before I met him. I had a few dates with guys from Tinder which were fine, just not for me. It's difficult but you just gotta keep going. I've been on and off dating apps for years!

This thought process was what finally clicked for me and for me out of Victim Mode and into Ultimate Queen Mode. We have to take accountability for what we allow to happen to us and deal with that shit in order to close the door and never let it happen again. Self reflection is the key, Queens. ❤️

I don't know about India. The culture I'm from doesn't let women have their hair uncovered though... Change will come. It just takes time.

Am half a brown girl in the UK and I don't date Asian men for this reason, and my own personal experiences. My dad was a terrible human because of his country and culture - why would I want to date that? I'm sure there are some men who aren't like that but they're not for me. Sometimes I do swipe right accidentally on them and just the way they talk creeps me out and triggers years of abuse. It's thousands and thousands of years of culture and heritage that's only been changing a lot over the la…

Welcome to the world of Reddit. There's very little point in trying to educate people who don't want to be educated. It's an utter waste of your time and energy. Focus on yourself and those who want to be educated 😊

Yes exactly this. I think he thought he was being charming and a 'nice' guy by TELLING me that I was perfect as I am. But he didn't actually say that and he completely invalidated my wants and needs. Doh. I have 21lbs to go! Well done and we got this. 👍

I've lost over 5 stone/70lbs and want to lose more. I'm a curvy UK size 10/12 at the moment. I matched with a guy on Tinder and he literally said: 'Before we meet up, you're not allowed to lose any more weight cos I like you with all those curves 😋' I mean, WTAF?!

Aw that sounds really interesting and I'm glad it's transitioned well for you :) I definitely have room and the mental headspace for a partner. Enough that I'll put up with OLD until things open back up in the UK for more organic meetings. I have lots of things to keep me very busy. Please PM me if you ever want to chat and have an online friend :)

Aw well I'm not in London and it's a very big city compared to where I live. My city is very much bohemian/vegan/hippy/Land of the Unwashed Vs County Oik/pLeB Vs FuckBoi BUT also very engineer and tech based too so every now and then I strike lucky! My biggest issue is that I don't like men with no hair, so that greatly reduces the number of men over 40 by about 75% 🤦🏻‍♀️

As bless you. Yeah I wouldn't 'let' a man pay for me. It's just not what I believe in BUT I think that it's absolutely relevant (and right) for younger women with the tragedy that is dating for the under 35s in the 21st century. Glad that I'm not the only one. It's taken me a while to get here too ;)

Thank you :) seems like I'm not alone. I wish I'd known about FDS when I was younger - I would have done things so differently but then I wouldn't be who I am now.

I don't think I explained myself clearly. Firstly, I meant in terms of end goals and this might be at any age, not even just the over 40s. I guess the majority of women who are dating in their 40s have had at least one relationship and probably have kids which is why I stated that age is a factor. I've been unhappily married and very happily divorced. I have absolutely no intention of moving in with someone, marrying them or having any more kids. That doesn't mean I can't have a happy, committed…

Oh that might be something. I'll look and see if anything's happening in my city but I'm not holding out any high hopes! It's all very anti-social here for now. I'd definitely do a face to face speed dating for the entertainment factor too!

I do think that 99.9% of men on UK OLD are very LVM. There just isn't any other option at the moment with Lockdown and the lack of places to meet people. I feel like I was already doing 80% of the FDS handbook which was reassuring and I've definitely learned a lot too. It's been super helpful but not wholly relevant to my age and location for all of it.

I'm not sure that's true for all English men! I'm out on a date tomorrow and the gentleman has insisted on paying for everything. My daughter is in her early 20s and her bf took her for dinner up the Shard for their first date when he was only 19. It doesn't feel perfectly right to me (for tomorrow) as I'm fiercely independent and it feels like he's implying that I can't pay my way. Makes me feel uncomfortable, tbh.

I'm in my 40s and only came to this realisation a few years ago. After being very successfully single for many years, I decided to look a for a man in 2020. I needed to do some work on myself to identify why I WANTED a man and not why I NEED one (because no-one needs a man). I literally have a list of why I want a man, another list of what qualities that man must have and what ones I'd like him to have. None of those qualities are NEEDED in my life, but they would (hopefully) enhance my happines…

I get the 'no wonder you're single' comments all the time from men I've rejected. Usually I follow it up with something like, 'Mate, I chose to be single. You clearly have no clue why you're single and that will be your downfall. To avoid dying alone and lonely, I suggest a period of reflection and personal development. Maybe then you can understand why your projection and manipulative ways have not managed to find you a wonderful women like the one just about to block your ass. Good luck!'

I’m in my early 40s and have been very happily single for 6 years. Only recently discovered FDS but I’ve found that my extensive personal development has led to me being the Queen I know I am. I have followed the majority of the FDS understanding without even knowing that’s what it was. I do have children (need me less and less now) but a very small family (none really close by) and only two people whom I would call friends. Using my new found Queen status and the principles of FDS, I am now loo…
