For all that NZ law on rape is misandrist in some respects, I do like that we have a legal standard known as the reasonable expectation of consent. As the judge explained it to me when I was a juror, if a reasonable person in that position would have concluded that consent had been given or would have been given, then it does not count as rape or assault.

The blunt truth is that any man who has developed ways to cope with the lack of female companionship is a man who will not be willing to expend their resources on the faint hope of female companionship. And this is unacceptable to those controlling the narrative. Would lonely men be as willing to pay through the nose for an Onlyfans E-thot to acknowledge them by name when an AI girlfriend will tell him his stories are interesting, his jokes are funny and that she loves him as he is going to slee…

While I am inclined to agree with most other commenters that a big part of it is the feminization of various systems, There is also a substantial extent to which "men" as a demographic are getting scapegoated. The media in the UK (as well as many other related countries like Canada, Australia and New Zealand) seem to have a pathological fear of being called racist, so when a high profile crime is committed by a man from a protected ethnic minority, it is attributed to men in the country as a who…

One thing I find disgusting is that they only seem to enforce this for men. My cousin was awarded custody of his boys when he split from his wife, due to her mental health and substance abuse issues. Once she had cleaned herself up and started making really good money, he petitioned the courts for child support. While the court granted his request, he never saw a cent from her and the government agencies refused to do anything. He ended up supporting his boys with just the DPB and disability ben…

They don't want to give up a weapon in their arsenal. As long as there is no penalty for false accusations, then it is a threat they can use against any man at any time in order to get their way.

"wives are for heirs, mistresses are for fun" was not an uncommon sentiment, especially in parts of society wealthy enough to afford to maintain a mistress. In such cases, it was not even uncommon for the wife to encourage her husband to pick up a lover or two, once she bore the requisite heir and spare. Once the children are born, proving fertility, about the only thing that dislodge her would be evidence of her having an affair, as that would cast the paternity of the children into doubt.

In a historical context, a marriage was more of a legal contract than an expression of love or romance. While a love match was desirable if possible, it was not considered a requirement. In effect, the prospective husband offers permanent access to his resources in exchange to permanent and exclusive reproductive access to the prospective wife. It was only relatively recently (relative to history, that is) that the concept of spousal rape came into existence in the western world, as previously i…

The other problem with the sexsomnia opinion is that, based on more general somnambulism research, no matter what barriers you put in place, if the person can get past them while awake, when they can get past them while asleep. If he knew about his sexsomnia and didn't tell her ahead of time, I would argue he would be at fault. If he knew and told her and she decided to sleep there without reasonable precautions, then she needs to live with that choice. If he didn't know until after the event, t…

I can't wait for the day sex robots are created. I'm like 1000% positive women will take issue with this. They haven't been invented yet, and feminists have still been complaining about it for years

Because feminist activists have decided that any men only spaces are tools of the patriarchy and therefore must be torn down, infiltrated or subverted. Fraternities generally have enough political and financial backing from their alumni to avoid the worst of it and the existence of sororities kneecaps most of the legal arguments. Still, the general perception of frats in the media is either an evil cabal of men controlling things from the background or a bunch of meathead jocks obsessed with "cr…

I have noticed something similar with gay spaces, anything labeled as "gay" get treated as a general LGBT setting. I am perfectly happy for there to be a shared space for LGBT communities, but it shouldn't come of the expense of one of those communities. In my cynical moments, I sometimes think that the erasure of men's spaces (gay or otherwise) is a deliberate attempt by activists to isolate men from each other so that they (the activists) can push their agenda forward more easily.

"Patriarchy" is the Feminist equivalent of the Jewish new world order. They see that a certain demographic includes a number of people in positions of power that appears disproportionate to the number of that demographic and assume apriori that there must be some conspiracy or cabal responsible. No evidence you present or arguments you present can reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

Look at it this way, if you don't circumcise now he will always have the option of doing it later. If you circumcise there is no way to reverse that decision down the road. I will also note that, while circumcision is a relatively routine procedure, it does carry a non-zero risk of serious complications.

Socioeconomic status is just a measure of social status. Social status has been a factor in human evolution since at least 4 million hears ago, given that both Chimps and Bonobos show a preference for sexual contact with high status individuals. Quite likely longer than that, as high status individuals having preferential access in terms of sexual partners and resources is the rule, rather than the exception in primates. Even if the mother herself doesn't gain in status, her children inheriting …

The problem is society still ha s this custom I contest the idea that this is a purely social effect. Between the ubiquity of the behavior, the multiple other documented instinctive factors modulating arousal (Scent preference and facial morphology preferences in relation to the menstrual cycle come to mind here) and the research showing similar arousal patterns in relation other apes in relation to status, there is a very solid argument to be made that hypergamy is an evolved response.

All other considerations aside, this could significantly backfire on women. Do they really think companies will willingly hire someone that they have to give (at minimum) 12/13 extra paid sick days a year to? Not if they can avoid it.

Discussions like this always remind me of a phrase I heard back when secularism/atheism vs. religion was a significant cultural battle; You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into. A lot of feminists/SJWs embraced their ideology because it is an emotionally satisfying one, rather than an objective examination of evidence. Challenging their ideology provokes an anger response because it is a threat to this source of emotional satisfaction, made worse because few …

I have always taken the stance that what someone thinks another will do will power is indicative of what they would do with power in their place. From that perspective, this argument is rather revealing.

I think it would depend on what her reason for the abortion is. If she does not feel that she can financially support the child and/or wishes to focus on her career. for example, then I like the idea of a legal contract where the father takes full legal custody after birth, with the option of the mother having visitation.

When you say that she is on facebook etc. all the time is she on company computers or on a personal device? If it is on a company device whoever handles your IT should be able to pull the records to show she is consistently active on non work related sites during company time. With this either you or your boss should be able to start a formal disciplinary process with her (formal verbal warning, formal written warnings and so on). Failing that, since her most consistent complaint/excuse seems to…
