Maybe it's just my little demographic bubble wherein the standard seems to be rising. Everyone I meet these days is very confident, fit, has lots of life experience, interesting talents, multiple hobbies, are financially well off, friendly, smart, witty, etc. Quite simply, the standard now seems to be quite close to human perfection. It sure as hell wasn't like this when I was 20. Everyone was just a stupid borderline alcoholic back then.

No no, I'm learning German, so I like to drop the tiny bits of German that I know English speakers will understand. Shame, we could have been bros on the warpath.

Nah, I don't expect a perfect kiss at all. On the contrary, I expect it to go terribly. ;) I only reference this particular girl because she's the only girl I'm vaguely interested in who also happens to be single. It's just a very difficult thing to psych yourself up in to doing when a) you've never done it b) you're expected to have done it and c) you're expected to be somewhat good at it. That said, to be perfectly honest, while I don't expect a perfect first kiss, it would be nice if it was w…

Yeah. :P I was bullied in high school, so I've been dealing with confidence issues my entire adult life. I certainly did not feel like a girl could have ever been interested in me back in those days, so that's probably why nothing happened. I'm 27 now, and there are no parties like there was when I was 20. Nowadays, all …

Shit man, I don't think I've been to 50 parties in my entire life.

It's strangely coincidental for this thread to appear when I, being 27 years old and unkissed, am trying to figure out how I'm going to get the courage to kiss this girl I met about a month back. Le sigh

Sounds like a fun night. :) Regarding people breaking eye contact almost instantly, perhaps they could tell that you had toked up by your eyes? I'm not sure how that would affect people's propensity to maintain eye contact, but it's something to consider.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
