I appreciate that men tend to skew less anxious than women. Male strength and athleticism are also pretty cool.

I don’t think I’d ask anything. I would like to know a bit more about his relationship with his dad, because I think I could support him better that way, but he’ll let me know if and when he’s ready.

I understand the appeal, but also think that most fairly normal (for lack of a better term) 30 year old men are still going to have fewer important commonalities with a 22 year olds than with similarly aged women… and if a man is not that socially and/ or emotionally normal, a 22 year old is going to be less equipped to deal with that than a 30 year old woman. Additionally, most young woman who date older are partly motivated by wanting someone who is more serious and ready/able to settle down i…

These people don’t sound terribly nice and I agree that culture can exacerbate the situation… however, even in a more accepting culture with nicer people, there’s still the factor that ND people frequently exhibit fewer socially unconventional traits in some settings than in others, and it’s possible that someone who has not really observed their ND crush in certain types of settings could be put off in response to learning more about their behavior from a friend.

I think this could come across as desperate or overly aggressive pretty easily. Ideally, you could make your presence know in another way without directly talking about his looks or asking him out.

Not sure about other countries but the median age of marriage in the USA for women is around 28 and couples usually date for at least a couple of years before marriage, so women are typically settling down with someone that they met in their mid 20s or younger. Collage-age women (and men) are quite young, impulsive, and still changing a lot , so it’s good to date with intention, but getting married/making a lifelong romantic commitment at that age is kind of a gamble.

No, but a man choosing to get into a physical relationship with a woman to whom he has no attraction is pretty uncommon. The alternative is to be single.

Agreed, but determining league is major source of disagreement -men seems to feel that they should be getting women who are at least their equal (in rank) when its comes to looks and social skills/charisma- ex: a 5 usually wants a 5/6, even though they would probably still be far happier being with a 4 than with with nothing -women are more selective in terms of their minimum partner requirements in order for a relationship to not be straight up unpleasant for them, but less concerned than are m…

Agreed! General well-being, and the quality and mutual enjoyment of the intimacy is what needs to be addressed more so than the quantity. OP is already having about 4 times more sex than she wants, mainly for her partners benefit. Maybe once she’s less tired and enjoys the existing intimacy more, then she’d be interested in having sex 3 or 4 times a week, but right now, upping the frequency is not the answer. Quality intimacy twice a week is also not unreasonable.

In terms of the past: As long as everyone was on board with the situations being casual, and it’s been long enough that I could believe he’s actually out of the phase, I’d probably be okay with it. If he intentionally mislead anyone and couldn’t reflect and realize that it was wrong, or if the phase only ended last Tuesday , I’d have a problem As far as the present, I’d want to make sure he was clean lol and observe to make sure he seemed adequately attracted to me. If he found me less attractiv…

There really do seem to be a lot of men in the newer generations willing to be modern, equitable partners. This is true, but the majority don’t put much effort into being attractive and aren’t on board to date down in attractiveness, so we have men who are, in some major ways, more romantically attractive than in the past, but the roughly the same to less sexually attractive (obesity, declined social skills) to their prospective partners- so women (and men) are still left in a weird predicament …

Unconditional love is mostly parent to child/caregiver to dependent and sometimes the other way around. Regardless of distance, most other relationships don’t include “unconditional” love. It doesn’t mean that the love cannot be deep or long term, but there’s usually some conditions that have to be met for that love to continue.

I don’t care if his friends are “pulling.” If the complaining was a passive effort to get me to have sex with him, or him idealizing a casual sex lifestyle, then yes- that piece would be unattractive. I’m terms of the standards, those things they don’t want to compromise on may be non-negotiable for them, and they may have enough experience being single to know they can tolerate continuing to be single it if someone doesn’t meet their requirements. They might also have experience dating someone who didn’t meet non-negotiable standards, and know that they don’t want to repeat that process. I do agree with you that self improv…

Men and women tend to have fairly different relationship and social experiences. The average man gets a lot more, sexually, out of a relationship with an average women, than the other way around. Women are lower libedo and more selective than men, so many are okay without regular sex and/or aren’t that attracted to average men, and want to avoid unwanted sex. They also of course, have more options for unattached sex, but I don’t think this is as big of a factor as people think. Women also tend t…

My parents getting divorced is one of the best things that ever happened to me. The extent of the crap that a family goes does not neatly correlate with whether they divorce.

It’s not a great filter. Looking at their dynamic with their parents and maybe the nature of the relationship between the two parents is helpful, but there’s enough fucked up intact marriages + situations where separated couples co-parented amicably, that it’s not the best strategy.

It’s not a great article, but there’s some decent points. Communicating effectively is complex, and it’s possible to be strong in a lot of aspects, while being somewhat weak in other— and sometimes those are the ones that can really sink a person in dating. Effectively conveying boundaries and not coming off as excessively communicative about the wrong things is really important with dating. What do you mean by women with male tastes, in this context? I was trying to convey that women with male tastes in the non-sexual sense could appreciate his work, but it would not necessarily lead to attraction, but I also think that those with “male tastes” in terms of desire, would probably be more looks focused than the average women, and therefore less likely to find him appealing. He’s clearly talented, but a huge part of his appeal to women was his looks and youthful/playful energy. He also had kind of a wholesome/dreamy quality early on, that really hooked people. Tom Cruise and RDJ did some silly stuff, but it didn’t disrupt their appeal in the same way that DiCaprio’s actions and visual changes have impacted him.

My theory is that it’s a status thing for him (plus very young women are going to be less likely to push for commitment.) He was one of the most handsome, desirable men in the world at one point, who has not aged well- in terms of appearance and, to an extent, public image. He’s telling himself and trying to tell the world that he’s still got it by running through girls in their early 20s.

Event/activity items or gestures can go a long way. Set lunch up as a little picnic, take him to a cool old book store If he likes that kind of thing, have a silly dance party in the living room, leave him a fun or romantic note in an unexpected place, bring him a “souvenir” from somewhere you went- it can be tiny or silly but it shows you were thinking of him. A lot of growth, including the sort that increases relationship appeal, can still occur after 25, but most of the stuff that actually drives sexual desirability peaks or plateaus at about that point. I don’t think it has to be as dismal as people believe though.

It also matters a lot with raising kids, even among people who aren’t very concerned with the income aspect. Stay at home parents are not one-size-fits all and enough women realistically can’t satisfy the standards that a successful doctor may have for raising his kids.

I think there’s basically 2 major categories: Borderline (or not, depending on how extreme people are) aggression / threatening behavior v. demonstrations of strength/ capacity to lead, without actually showing aggression toward the partner. Obviously there is ambiguity about where certain acts would fall, but in general, actions in the first category tend to yield a divisive response , whereas those in the second category tend to get a more consistent (positive) response.

If the alternative is no sex, then yes, a lot of men have pretty low standards to find a woman appealing enough for intimacy/ to be willing to get into some kind of dating arrangement if that’s what it takes to have sexual access. This doesn’t say much however, about how a man with minimal standards to get involved will treat a given woman, if he will commit/invest in the relationship beyond whatever is necessary for sexual access, or how he will react if another opportunity arises, etc.

We made it socially and financially prohibitive for women to stay single, so not marrying meant you were, in effect, being financially punished for not entering arrangements that often required unwanted sex. Going without sex is more difficult for a man, but it is an option. There has always been a portion of adult men who did not have sexual access. I would like to see a push toward greater sources of fulfillment and community involvement for men who aren’t having sex and a reduction in the stigma of being an older virgin. If marriage was fair, based on your standards , what would be a reasonable outcome in this situation: *repeatedly having sex with your wife whilst knowing they literally hate it and it makes her cry She is making that choice. The alternative is getting cheated on or divorced. I don't expect the man to turn into a monk.*

Job is unimportant, but she should have traits and background knowledge that would be be significantly more common among women with a roughly similar education/ job status to me, and also, she shouldn’t be a financial drain. Otherwise, its totally fine that she has a 10th grade education and works as a professional nose picker.

I have dear friends who are autistic, it’s really tough. Have you worked with a therapist? They may be able to help with social skills in a more sustainable way. Support/social groups for folks who are not neutrotypical can also be helpful. Autism can be really isolating even separate from the dating component. As you acknowledged, autism does tend to adversely affect one’s dating life. Keep in mind that you may have to consider dating women notably less physically attractive since (percieved) s…

Hmm, I don’t think the is the default. People wait for different reasons. Some want to avoid sleeping with a high number of people or having casual sex because it makes them feel like crap, or they believe it’s bad in a more general sense or negatively impacts their ability to be a good partner in a long term relationship (i.e. a spiritual perspective , or the pair bonding argument). Some are trying to avoid being a vulnerable position with those they don’t trust (yet, or otherwise). Some think …

Most studies have shown that women like a man 3-5 years older. Could you direct me? My understanding was that if you start around 20, women like 1-3 years older, with gap diminishing as they age, and by 29/30 they start to prefer men their age or slightly younger. Historically, my impression was that there’s been variance in how close couples were in age, but 10-15 year gaps weren’t very uncommon, and were mostly achieved via economic/social pressures. It’s also worth noting that we societally catered to mens preference for youth, over female preference for similarly aged men for a very long time, and there are demographics still trying to push this. Women are scared of this— the average 30 year old often doesn’t want to sleep with the average 30 year old man- she really doesn’t want to get stuck with the average 40 year old

There’s a lot, although people may also exhibit some of the behaviors for other reasons (ex: fear of coming across as desperate, haven’t totally settled on how they feel about you yet, etc.) so it’s not black and white. Meeting a pet’s needs is vastly easier than meeting the needs of a baby. I’m purple-ish, but If I’m allowed to answer: You can achieve many of the same objectives by working on outcome independent/stoicism plus just becoming attractive. Attractive women do notice if others find a man desirable. You don’t have to actually sleep with a ton of women for this effect. In addition, some of the actions it may require to sleep with a ton of women can put off the type of woman TRP claims to be want (low N, conscious, wholesome) from wanting to be with you.

I appreciate the admission, there’s a lot of folks saying they want someone low N count who sleeps with them quickly, but realistically, if someone sleeps with you on a first date, the logical assumption(in most cases) is that the person probably has a higher N count— so men who care do care about N count, would be inclined to penalize someone for sleeping with them on a first date.

Your opinions on: 1) How soon into a relationship is it possible to feel love for your partner? I think you need to have been friends or partners for at least a month (and more often, at least 3 months) before you can really know. It’s tough to call it love rather than infatuation (which sometimes becomes love) if you don’t know the person well enough. 2) How long into dating before you should say “I love you” for the first time? If it happens after you’ve been dating for a while, and you think …

Single mother usually means you’ve got kids who are minors, or— possibly a little older, if they are still at home and very reliant on their parent Still, a woman with a 15 year old is less likely to be ruled out as a relationship option due to the single mom status, than a woman with a 5 year old. Plus, most of the guys that the first woman would be looking to date will have a kid/kids of their own.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/22 08:32 PM

Yes. She was a good mom, used the money to give me the best life she could. She worked hard but didn’t make a ton of money herself, and my life was a lot better for the fact that my dad provided additional income. If you want your partner to be enthusiastic about sex, don’t marry a women sexier than you lol Women have less raw libedo and are more sexually selective. If you care a lot about this, the most logical thing is to marry someone less attractive (but obviously attractive enough that you still find them appealing to sleep with)
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/22 05:17 PM
3

Men cheat with less attractive women than their partner all the time, they just hope they won’t get caught Also, if your wife is more attractive than you, she’s likely to be less attracted to you compare to a woman equal in looks or less good looking than you. Less attracted generally means lower frequency or less enthusiastic sex, which certainly does not de-incentivize a man from seeking sex elsewhere.

I don’t think this is going to be satisfactory to them. A lot of guys won’t want to do the work and there will be a lot of women who probably still won’t be attracted to a man of the equivalent rank. A female 3 may just prefer being single to being with a male 3.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/22 01:40 AM

This isn’t really on the table. They know top men aren’t making this concession, and also that a lot of guys would still go without sex due to women retaining the option to remain single

Fair questions Should the number of sexual partners that each individual in a couple has had be as close to equal as possible? No, but preferable to have a similar type of history/or outlook on intimacy Ex: If one person had 7 partners and the other 4, but they were all from relationships, that’s a reasonable fit. If they are 7 & 7 but one is from relationships and one is all casual, that’s more likely to signal compatibility issues. Would it be degrading otherwise? Why or why not I don’t think …

I appreciate that this is not the case. The dominant model of monogamy for most of human history was built largely upon making it infeasible for women to stay single or to split up, so we would have to come up with something new and accept that a lot of people are still going to be without sex/relationships if we aren’t forcing women to pair with guys they don’t want to be with

Affairs take time, energy, and potentially resources away from the family, and damage the bond you that you share with a potential husband. The main thing that comes to mind is that constant hooking up can become a source of thrill seeking/escapism, so going straight from the routine of hooking up to a relationship may leave a certain gap in one’s life that they may seek to fulfill in unfavorable ways— however I don’t think this is so much of an issue for people with a less recent hook up history As for the other stuff, it’s correlation and (often, convenient) assumptions over causality. To plagiarize myself: It’s more appealing to …

Those are both attractive fat girls with (from what we can tell) good proportions even though they are obviously bigger than the ideal. The average guy is fat with an average face and average proportions; those women would certainly be out of his league.

Not everyone is like this but it’s a real risk and the difficulty is that it’s hard to know how someone will respond to temptation if they have never experienced it. It’s also super unappealing when inexperienced people have a sense of superiority about not having been promiscuous, when it was not never on the table for them.

That’s because the average fat woman is still more physically arousing to men than the average fat man is to women. If she was too sexually unappealing to sleep with at baseline , the kindness isn’t going to make her sexy.

Kindness makes someone more appealing for a relationship if they already meet desirability standards. It doesn’t create lust for a women who is viscerally unattractive to a man.

In the last 50+ years, people have become “better” in someways and “worse” in others. As you acknowledged, changes in appearance have affected female perception of men much more unfavorably than the reverse. Another key factor is that most of us have become worse at certain aspects of socializing— and this is probably more prominent in men, and causes men to take a bigger hit to their desirability than what women experience. Even historically, a man who was able to inspire lust in a woman better…

Women can be turned off even if a guy is genuinely nice, but the kindness is not the turn off Niceness doesn’t actually generate desire most of the time for men or women. This just doesn’t come up much for men, since they have a much higher libedo + lower threshold for a person being desirable enough to sleep with (doesn’t mean they would act on it all the time of course) Traits that contribute to desire for women would be things like reasonable mental and physical fortitude, having boundaries, …

Men don't claim they care about women struggles however nor is our sexual desire influenced by our mates success and competence like yours is. Hence the saying They largely do outside of the manosphere and very conservative environments. My take is that the phrase over exaggerates certain differences between male and female attraction. Women’s desire is far more influenced by attributes that would contribute to success (at least in the time humans developed) than by the success itself (the finis…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/22 01:22 AM

I think this idea that men with struggles are worthless to women, stems from a couple of things: Some men interpret women , who they think should reciprocate their sexual interest (or at least be willing to have a romantic relationship that would involve some sex), not being interesting in them, as the women treating them poorly, and/or become very frustrated with the woman. Women are very sensitive to any kind of pressure to get them to pair up with men they don’t want to sleep with. If you try…
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/22 10:53 PM

I mean… men don’t sexually care about women’s struggles either. They sexually/romantically respond to women who they find adequately attractive and charming — which, like success, ties into genetics, your socioeconomic background, how you were raised, they opportunities you had, and transient qualities like age.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/22 10:36 PM

The hotter someone is relative to you/ what you could get without money, the less likely she is to be attracted to you… so if you’re not having luck, you may have to make yourself more desirable in someway or sugar. There’s a middle ground between AF and BB; and it’s better place to live that sugaring and, it’s attainable, if you can make yourself attractive enough to women that you you find attractive enough. You don’t have to be the hottest person she could get- just attractive enough to her.

I guess it depends on his role in your life. In most cases, you can’t really become a new dad to a 15 year old, so trying to “parent” much isn’t a great idea, but if they act more or less like an uncle (not the kooky fun kind, but respectful and supportive with appropriate boundaries) it can be alright.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/22 10:01 PM
2

It depends on your priorities. 18-25 is the best time to meet people for a relationship since so many of your peers (including the most appealing) are still available, and socialization factors (easier to meet through college or casual socializing, most folks don’t have kids yet, etc.) are generally in your favor. Of course, people defer focusing on long term dating in that time frame for different reasons. If those reasons contribute to an important goal, maybe it’s worth it. Is hooking up and …

Context is key. You seem to gravitate toward women with higher sociosexuality and you are also older. A 25 year old with a count of 60 would be received differently than someone middle aged with that number.

In the relative sense, I.e. if you could date an attractive guy who had some ltrs, or one who’s slept with 60 people, women prefer the first.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/22 04:30 AM
3

This is very true. Hopefully you have also learned things from past relationships that can be helpful going forward— you obviously don’t need to sleep with 80 people for this to occur, but I think generally, that a partner having had some relationship experience is preferable to dating someone with 0 experience— assuming that you are not both teenagers or extremely religious lol

Agreed. Men in relationships may not consciously admit that even men outside the relationship have a higher expectation for how the home of the couple should look in order to be acceptable, v. the more lenient expectations they would have for a home without a woman… and not living up to other mens’ standards has consequences- often for the couple, rather than just the woman. From a visual standpoint only, I’d say about 25-35 for older women. For younger women, more like 22-27/28. Under 30 is objectively most attractive, but women past a certain point start to see guys under 25 or so as kids, which shifts preferences slightly older.

TRP usually means the sub to most people, which supports some pretty extreme views and takes a supposedly “amoral” approach while simultaneously espousing a very misogynistic outlook and proving guidance on how to engage in highly hedonistic destructive behavior. I’m female, and I wouldn’t refer to anyone that way in real life. People are complex, but I’m trying to make the point that women tend to be more sexually selective than men and that if you remove the economic and social pressures that were in place before, the majority of average women aren’t that eager to have to sleep with a guy who is equally or less desirable (relative to their respective sex) than them, for the rest of their lives.

“we met some bad bitches this weekend who could get men wrapped around their fingers and men ate that shit up.“ I’m always thrown off when guys say women love assholes without acknowledging the other side of the coin. A lot of men and women are drawn to those who are attractive enough (whether it be their looks or charisma) to get away with being rebellious, and get additionally drawn in by the excitement and opportunity for escapism that accompanies spending time with them.

Women over 30, actually find men a little bit younger to be more attractive, on average, and it’s not uncommon for them to find at least some men who are notably younger to be very attractive, although this is stronger in men. Women have a lot more opportunities to get involved with younger people than do men— but they are less likely to actually pursue this. An average 30 year old woman could find and hook up with an attractive 23 year old on OLD, but most of the time she isn’t doing so.

/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 06:42 PM

I’d go with allowing financial abortions (while also allowing access to medical abortions) in this case. As discussed, I still don’t think the majority of men would be happy with the actual outcome of implementing this
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 06:40 PM
1

This is exactly what I think. If you decrease the level of security in the event of an accidental pregnancy, then even the guys who appear “safe” become higher risk— this will not do those guys any favors in terms of female mate choice.

How do they get notified? They could just flee, dodge calls from the woman or, could have given fake info from the start. I think he would need to be served or something like that and if inaccessible, then he is functionally waiving the right to financial abortion.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 05:07 PM

How late into the pregnancy could they declare financial abortion? And what about abortion for rape cases?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 05:01 PM

Info: what the terms and accessibility for financial abortion and medical abortion (I.e. how late is in acceptable in the pregnancy? are the rules any different for married couples? Is abortion readily accessible and free? Will there be any changes to social support programs?) For what it’s worth I don’t think men will be very happy with the outcome of legalizing financial abortions
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 04:48 PM
2

Validation and social support by a female mate played a big role. You can’t replicate all this without a mate, but we now have the opportunity for better alternatives to help meet some of the needs that were fulfilled by a mate, for the men that will be left out of the the mating game. (Not that 80% is sustainable)

I’m more purple than blue, but I think the idea is really that you should be stable and adequately content before pursuing a relationship which should still add value and contribute to happiness , rather than relying on a relationship to lift you out of a bad place.

Now when I say cold approach I do not mean in a PUA sense. But in a sense that we walk up to someone we like, regardless of social context, and talk to them. If they show us that they don't want to talk to us I.e their body language, then we leave them alone. Most people aren’t great at picking up on this body language and backing off, especially people who are a little less socially aware- a demographic that would be more heavily represented among those temped to go the route of cold approachin…

Men, as a group, care more about youth than do women, but they are also higher in libedo, lower in selectivity, and mid to lower tier (desirability, not human value obviously) guys are currently, having a heck of a time trying to get consistent sex/dates from women their age. So if just asked on a survey, if they would date 35+ (rather than if they prefer it, or if they even could get a 35+ year old) there might be more yes’s than you think. There’s no age range, but the study does mention that …

If your balding at 21, you will still probably have more hair then when you are in your 30s. At that point though, baldness will be received less harshly by your peer group. It is a given that people care about how old a prospective partner looks relative to their own age . You shouldn’t lean into this - I.e. - I won’t date him/her because they have graying hair (even though I find them attractive), but you also shouldn’t force yourself to date someone you aren’t sufficiently attracted to.

A lot of men are better looking at 25 than 18, but the older you get past that point, the more you acquire signs of aging that are going to be off putting to young people and aren’t going to be countered by the positive benefits of age, from the perspective of a young person (in terms of actual attraction). Thus, for the majority of men seeking a women significantly younger, even if she is a lovely person and admires you, she is less likely to have real attraction toward you, than she is toward …

I think its a sore spot, because, for a lot of men who arent sexually successful, having sexual access to then women they want, would come at the cost of those women having sex that they find unpleasant—- and we made women do this for a massive chuck of history (and they had to deal with unpleasant financial and social pressure and perception of inferiority that were intentionally amplied to make women pair up).

Try to focus on feminine silhouettes and looking elegant/well put together with excellent grooming, but avoid items and styling that look too precious/ delicate/frilly/overtly “girly” as it will create a non-flattering juxtaposition. Start looking early- it’s when you will have to most access to find a good partner since people will gradually leave the dating market over time, but imo don’t actually get married until you are at least 25 since people can change considerably between 18-25. Prioritize your wants v. needs but don’t settle for something that doesn’t add value to your life. Don’t subscribe to a sunk cost fallacy

You chose who you date. Sometimes you proceed in spite of risks, which is okay, but there was a not-insignificant risk in dating a 20 year old, as a 27 year old, that the relationship dynamic and the younger person’s level of assertiveness would change with time. It’s understandable to be sad but complaining to her or her mother that she was more “quiet” when they met is a little silly.

The vaginmus response is very concerning. It’s okay to be kinky, but a one sided kink of leaning into your partner’s intimate distress from a medical condition (that originated from childhood sexual assault of all things), causing them them bled and cry, is very dark. The bdsm crowd is even against that stuff.

Both parties desire more, but men don’t do well with the reality of being with a woman who is “more,” if that makes sense. Men will try to go for women more desirable and charismatic/socially competent than them, and sometimes they achieve this, but they don’t like being in a subordinate position in a relationship, which tends to happen if you date someone above you. Women are actually okay with the man being higher/dominant in the relationship, if it’s done respectfully.

I still actually think the natural equilibrium is for women to be with men that are overall 'above' them, but probably on average less attractive visually. These are all really good points. I’m optimistic that if women have access to men they find adequately desirable who are willing to engage in a relationship in good faith, the women will be willing to relax their standards on some of the other criteria, I.e. education, intelligence, and to an extent, concrete resources/ achievement. Those things are all important, but I think there’s a divergence in those minimum standards based upon whether or not she finds the man to be sufficiently desirable.

We need responsible women in the conversation who have an eye on the overall needs of society. That doesn't necessarily mean being willing for women to make outsized sexual sacrifices for team human; but it does mean being clear eyed about the problems that widespread monogamy solved for humans in the past. Right, but that happens to guys between 18 to 25, or up to the later 20s for late bloomers. Men don’t organically get more handsome in their 40s and 30s. They start to show age in non-favorable ways. It’s not anything terrible, but past the 20s most people just get gradually less attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/22 09:36 PM

For sure, but it’s a big, expensive glow up for those eligible. There’s even lot of things that cannot be fixed with cosmetic surgery (at least the kind accessible to relatively normal people) even in the event that you have the funds, and many of the flaws people have tend to become more pronounced with age.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/22 09:22 PM

45? A male late bloomer could look certainly better at 28 than 23, but unless you undergo a dramatic transformation- like major body recomp and good cosmetic surgery , the chances of looking better at 45 than 25 are extremely low.

We need to do better by men and boys in terms of opportunities, teaching style, resources, and addressing the stark difference in outcomes, but it’s possible that even with appropriate supports, women may still do somewhat better than men in academia overall. As long as this is manageable, and we get to the point where men are doing well enough in school (even if it’s not quite as well as women) , and men have additional outlets for success, I don’t think it is terrible if women are somewhat ahe…

It’s fine if women still take the lead in academics but the education system really needs a revamp. Women’s educational needs were ignored for a long time, then once there was the push to address them and to fully include woman in schooling, it became obvious and “convenient” that little girls are easier to school than little boys, and we basically defaulted to the easier approach even though it didn’t meet everyone’s needs.

Agreed. It’s also not a good “gotcha” type rebuttle to a medical abortion, as there’s no ambiguity about the recipient of a “financial” abortion. It’s not so much the number. It’s that the positive traits that contribute to a man’s aptitude to elicit desire in a lot of women are often appealing to a given woman- looks and charisma are the big ones. Women are also turned off by desperation/the prospect that a man chose her because no one else would sleep with him, and if someone’s sexual history is very sparse it can be a red flag, although context is more significant than a number. Some traits that contribute to having a history of a high…

These are good points. I do also think though that there’s a hope that women having fewer resources is going to make them more likely to pair up with men they are not currently willing to pair with , which is unfortunate in the respect that it is increasing pressure to have (non-violent, but) undesired sex .

I’m not a fan of cold approaching, unless there’s been pretty clear indications of mutual interest. If a man has a reasonable sense of his league and there’s been indications of interest, and he knows how to speak to people, then, I’d think his rate would be better than 10%. Maybe 30-50? I’m not sure. It matters if he’s making people really uncomfortable v. approaching in a way that’s plausibly platonic and backing off if it’s clear they aren’t on the same page.

On tinder, I wouldn’t really care as long as he wasn’t sending inappropriate messages. If he were approaching and getting rejected by a ton of people he knew in real life I’d feel differently. In real life, you should be able to pick up on social cues well enough that you don’t have a 90% failure rate, unless you are choosing to ask out people who are pretty clearly uninterested

I don’t think you should worry. Most of the best prospects-men and women- do have LTRs in college, but a ton of people still don’t actually end up marrying who they dated in college. The take away is mainly to put effort into yourself, dating, and socializing in your early 20s even though the market is competitive which can scare people off.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 12:39 AM
2

It’s generally best to start in college for men and women. It’s the time when you get a ton of in-person social exposure to other young people with whom you share commonalities, which is a good way to meet a partner. Overtime more and more people get taken off the market, especially the most appealing people, so starting early is advisable. However, people do still change a fair bit between 18-25-ish, so actually getting married before the mid 20s isn’t always the best idea.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 07:55 PM

I think a lot of the time it’s not overt lying, but tactful insincerity is common in these situation- ex: acting affectionate/ couply in a way that would make someone likely to think that things were moving in that direction or giving intentionally vague but hopeful sounding answers when asked about intentions.

Men physically peak later but it’s not dramatically later than women. In the early 20s men still look boyish, but by 25-28 you generally have the positive benefits of maturing with minimal unfavorable signs of aging. Past mid/later 20s, men are generally getting a bit less masculine looking over time - balding, greying, skin aging, harder to stay slim and maintain muscle. It’s certainly not a death sentence, but generally men, like women, still look best in the 20s. The things that change favora…

/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 02:53 AM

I don’t disagree, but it was probably much less strenuous on the men than on the women, and the women had to keep up with a lot physical pressure in their day to day life with running a household without modern technology, so help with managing a heavy door was likely welcome. Still, I’m sure they would have traded it for being able to have a little more agency in their lives.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 02:07 AM

I agree with a lot of this, but will make the pedantic note that early doors may in fact have been stupidly heavy at a certain point in history. Physical inventions in the world were largely designed for men and when the world was horribly classist, making things user friendly for working class people (even men) was not a priority. The rich got the better versions of shit (some of which were still an ergonomic mess) or had staff to manage heavy/labor intensive tasks and items.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 01:38 AM

Lol There was plenty of exaggeration for social control, but people do have the impulse to engage in “romantic” (tender, attentive, affectionate) behavior when they are in love. /r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 01:12 AM

Not really for the average man, unless they end up in a situation where there are vastly more women than men, which doesn’t really happen unless people are quite old, due to technology now allowing us to easily meet people outside of our immediate environment

It’s usually that women don’t like being on the receiving end of sexual attention from men they find unattractive and most of the traits you described either impact sexual desirability in a negative (chubby) or neutral (nice, wholesome) way, even if some of those traits are clearly positive things in the non-sexual sense.

There is too much shaming on both sides, and it is true that most women are turned off by submission, but kindness in itself is an appealing trait. There’s a lot to be said for recognizing patterns and one’s own contribution to the situation, but the dating landscape is also a big factor in dating outcomes. What if the pool of people who meet certain non-negotiable criteria has a lot of duds in it? You select and you act as carefully as possible, but it’s still a high risk situation and you may get burned quite a few times.

There’s a really big difference between not having sex with people you are repelled by and not committing rape and murder. We are built to be able to pretty effectively resist the urge to rape and murder without it causing undue trauma. Even in pre-historic times, we had to be able to manage this impulse pretty well because the alternative had a pretty high chance of getting us killed. Having sex with someone you find repellent is really unpleasant because your instincts are trying is trying to …

I think it comes down to choosing the option that sufficiently meets your more primal needs v. aggressively pursuing the option (or options) that might be most enjoyable in the short term, but that actually exceed your primal needs and carry a major cost to your long term happiness or are very counterproductive to finding a holistically compatible partner if that is what you want. Of course, these options are not available to everyone. If you cannot find an overall compatible partner who you fin…

There is major selection bias, but there is also a risk is assuming that the men who are less in demand are valuing relationships and love over hook ups more so than the in-demand guys, when there is a stark difference in opportunity between the two groups. I will say that the in-demand men who prioritize relationships probably get taken off the market a lot faster, than the lower demand men who prioritize relationships, so among the single guys in the two groups who prioritize relationships, a …

High value normally refers to sexual desirability. Making 100k provides security over desirability. If he dates younger and hotter than he otherwise could based on his own level of sexual desirability, that does get into betabux territory
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/22 11:40 PM

Most affluent/UMC people come from families who are of the same economic class 🤷‍♀️ Young women also care more than ever about youthful good looks in men and are increasingly unwilling to betabux

I understand what you are getting at a bit more but still don’t think it holds up with 100k, unless that’s considered a crazy amount of money in your area. At 30, men still find their age-counterparts much more desirable than the reverse even if they would prefer women younger than them. Also, income itself doesn’t automatically inspire lust, it’s more of an RMV trait than SMV. no, i see a lot of 23 year olds date men in their 30s, that is very very common This is very different from what I obse…

I’m sorry you went through all that. it could be that among the guys in the tier of attractiveness she wants (if she’s a 7/8, she could be looking at guys who are 8/9) it’s the jerks that are going for her. At the very top, men have the most leverage and non-jerky top men have a lot of relationships options, don’t stay on the market long, and don’t have to date down, so she may in fact mostly be getting attention from jerks in that part of the market.

Men also prefer to commit to spending extended periods of time with women who they like talking to on a regular basis, find sufficiently interesting and intelligent, and with whom they have some overlapping interests/views, and this is just more common with women who are of a similar ses/background and who will get along with the women in his network, even if she isn’t top dog. Yes, your point about women having types, but it being hard to match them perfectly is well taken. Still, a 20% overall monogamous match rate for sex that is at least somewhat enjoyable is pretty dismal to think about I don’t think 20% is a limit at all, I do think that men who fall roughly below under the top 20% are more likely have to make concessions by dating down in domains where men usually avoided sacrifices if they could take it a different area like class/resources; the big ones are re…

I’m mostly agree re: 80% of women. It depends on the person and each couple has to work it out themselves. Some people find it really unpleasant to have sex if they aren’t in the mood; some find it neutral or very mildly annoying. If it’s not a big deal then ideally you compromise for your partner and have sex more often.

/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/22 12:41 AM

Lol. I’m not actively dating but I feel the same. I totally get being cautious about exposing the fact that one is trans for safety reasons, but at minimum, you absolutely should disclose before any sexual activity. It’s a given that some people will not be okay with dating a transman/woman, and you have to allow them the option to opt out before sex occurs.

There is some variance here. Girls who are into fitness and have muscle themselves tend to like more heavily muscled men than the average woman- which works because many guys into body building also have a higher threshold for the amount of muscle they like on a woman.

I am probably applying the term working glass to a wider demographic than I should . we'd have to talk about really old school enforced monogamy that gives men an artificial leg up economically. My impression was that the times when inequality were the highest generally coincided with enforced monogamy being in full f…

Less enforced monogamy = the less that working class men will put up with shitty economic conditions without acting out Addressing the growing economic inequality between the rich and the lower class could help address issues that accompany having a growing population of sexless men… but the government is not yet at the point of being willing to piss off the rich

Aggression seems really different- the ability to control or sublimate aggressive impulses to a reasonable degree without a high level of distress is built into us because even cave folk (Is that the accepted anthropological term?)needed it so as not to end up getting killed by larger cave folk, or end up killing their annoying cave relatives for taking the good sediment pillow (sorry, I’m very tired) If our mating instincts evolved during widespread polygamy, if pregnancy was really costly, and…

It’s a tricky subject. That aversion has some similarity to what women experience with the men they really don’t want to be with. It’s could be stronger than that, but then men have the higher libedo and the higher disgust threshold, so functionally, things may even out. Hi, Our take is similar in a lot ways, but I think that there’s a greater range of body sizes that men are capable of finding sufficiently attractive within the scope of their biological preferences, as they intersect with environment/cultural forces . The big environmental factors would be things like food scarcity, media/cultural messaging, and the distribution of fat on the women in question. It will never be the norm for men to prefer severely obese women, but it’s not uncommon for men in so…

This makes sense, but the other side of the coin is that men are capable of being attracted to heavier women, and the extent to which they like/are not bothered by women being bigger is very culturally mediated. Culture also affects how much men value certain attributes (bigger breasts/bottom) that are going to be more common in larger women. In other words, fat acceptance leads to less competition if you are competing for men who really don’t like fat women … but it also means that more guys fi…

Huh. I always assumed tall girls would be more enthusiastic since it’s much harder for them to find noticeably taller men. I personally don’t care, and actually dislike being much shorter than a guy. It’s an ergonomic nightmare and a weird form of vulnerability than I don’t normally experience.

This makes complete sense, I just don’t hear it often . My s.o. is around 6’1, I’m a little under 5’8, and it’s perfect. A huge height gap seems like a pain in the ass and looks far more awkward than cute.

What do you think about non-western cultures where the ideal for women is to be plump- ex: certain African or Arab countries? I get the impression that men’s weight preferences can genuinely be culturally mediated (even if the default in a society without much food insecurity is generally a preference for thin women). I also question if the way in which different ethnicities carry weight is a factor. Latina and black women often carry extra weight in a more feminine/favorable way than do white o…

The value of just being in shape is now exceedingly high compared to what it used to be This really depends on environment. Being thin is more novel than in the past, but a lot of guys care less way about women being thin (and way more about them having certain types of curves) than in the past, so being thin is kind of neutral rather than positive, and sometimes slightly negative if you have no ass (like a lot of skinny girls) and the guys around you like booty lol.

I hear you, it’s just that average 15 year olds look too border-line pubescent and awkward to me, and I think this perception is very common. Facially they don’t really look that different from a 13 year old. I know it’s anecdotal, but even when I was 15, male peers found the 17/18+ year olds far hotter than the girls their own age and they preferred the celebrities who were at least that age too. If you define peak so strictly that 23 isn’t even included, then 15 year olds, who, on average, loo…

It’s really hard to see 15/16 as part of peak. Average 15/16 year olds, especially the former are still pretty chubby in the face and often have a sort of gangly (can’t think of a better word atm) physique. There are attractive 15 year olds— but they usually don’t actually look 15. While I find it socially gross, I understand why michael bay put 15 year old Megan fox in bad boys; she looked like an attractive 18 year old. This seems like a desire of very young women. I get it sticking around as a fleeting fantasy later on- ex; in books or role play, but in practice it’s totally unappealing. Most women don’t actually want the hedonistic anti-hero, they want Captain America. Over time, men who engage in excessive hedonism, unhealthy escapism, or who cannot manage their anger begin to look childish. I think part of it also is that attractive/powerful men can more easily get away with showing unfavorable behavior, wh…

Some find unwanted sex more tolerable than others and I’d imagine women who find it most tolerable are probably overrepresented in some demographics- ex: women who chose prostitution or sugaring despite being in a stable enough financial position. The biggest problem with duty sex isn’t the lack of arousal. It’s when women experience the opposite or arousal - repugnance. There’s someone inside them, and their body wants them out. Older women have talked to me about this, “zoning out,” and dreadi…

OLD makes things harder because it’s excessively visual, men don’t have the best sense of what photos to use, and men can lose a lot of attractiveness when portrayed in a static image v. in motion. In real life though, a woman who is a 5 usually won’t have trouble finding a guy who is a 6.5 and seems interested, to be attractive. Its widely unpleasant and women have a strong enough aversion that societies had to construct elaborate systems to basically force women to pair and reproduce with men that they didn’t want to be intimate with. Many women will forgo something as significant as motherhood if it avoids a near lifetime expectation of unwanted sex with a man she does not want to be with. Like you, I do want people to be happy and for as many people as possible to have healthy pairings, but I don’t think we can ever …

That’s where things kind of break down. A lot of women would probably be okay to forgo appealing (to them) sex if they had an otherwise sufficiently fulfilling romantic relationship. But when you add the element of expecting them to have sex that they actively don’t want, they tend to vote with their feet.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/21 12:11 AM

I think how favorably people perceive agreeableness depends a lot on the source of the trait -some people are agreeable because of positive attributes- ex: adaptiveness- they can afford to be agreeable because they are very capable/competent, and tend to remain pretty emotionally stable and easygoing when they need to adapt to imperfect circumstances. They are basically agreeable because they are conscientious and can handle it. These people are usually pretty confident and well-liked -Conversel…

100% This is totally under-acknowledged on here. Partner is my same age (31), which I prefer. I think it’s generally easier to develop/ maintain a close connection when you grew up in the same cohort/sub-cohort and are in a similar stage of life - of course this can matter more or less depending on how old you are, where you are in life, etc. I also find people about my age a lot more visually appealing than older men. In shape as in muscular, or as in thin? Muscular guys with fat women are usually following their preference. Demographic plays a role too.I’m fairly thin with no ass, and a lot of the men in my environment would probably prefer a woman bigger than me, as long as she had the curves to back it up. Thin, average-ish guys are more likely to be with a heavy women due to lack of alternative options, compared to the fit guys.

I don’t regard sex as love. I do regard it as a time of very high vulnerability, and if you see it that way, then it’s preferable to have with someone who loves you and vice versa since you want to avoid experiencing or inflicting unnecessary harm. There’s so much variance though. Many people feel still adequately emotionally/ physically secure being with someone that doesn’t love them, and love is much harder to find that sex, so waiting for love might be unnessary.

/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/21 01:26 AM
2

The friendship compatibility aspect of relationships is so important. I actually think this is an area in which dating has gotten much better in the last 50 years. There is more of an emphasis on finding someone you like as a person— not just romantically and sexually. Plus, “mens’” and “women’s” hobbies and interests are more accessible to the opposite sex that ever, which means more people end up being compatible in this department.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/21 01:14 AM
1

Private couples videos are probably on the more benign end, but a lot of stuff that is marketed as amateur is still pretty dark. The market is oversaturated and consumers are getting more and more desensitized, so content and demands get more extreme. A lot of stuff that looks rough really is rough, and there’s no guarantee that it’s what a couple or individual actually likes, but it’s hard to compete in porn by having vanilla missionary sex.

I agree with a lot of this. The part I find tough is that some guys kind of try to use friendship to increase attraction with women they don’t necessarily like that much as people, to fill sort of a girlfriend shaped hole in their life. I get loneliness and wanting intimacy or affection, but think it’s kind of lousy to act socially interested if that interest really isn’t there. Occasionally, they become so infatuated that continuing just a friendship would be too painful; I’ve seen the pain, and cannot hold this against anyone.

I don’t think there’s a discrepancy in intrinsic value, but men tend to go off the rails more quickly and have more difficulty adapting. Enforced monogamy helped placate the masses— but it also gave power where it didn’t belong, without appropriate accountability. Men almost automatically got access to woman they found adequately desirable, and basically got to keep it as long as they didn’t engage in behavior that was disruptive to the parties that had power, which, by design, usually did not i…

My understanding was that when men dated down in class, status, etc. they were choosing to compromise in areas that they didn’t think mattered that much in a woman (although they may have ended up mattering in the long run) in order to optimize the visual desirability of a partner— and the consequences of doing so we’re largely hidden from them all together due to enforced monogamy, or didn’t become apparent until the union was already in place. In other words, in terms of male choice, “marrying…

Then you get into the fact that men have more paths to being physically hot than women. A man can be 'ugly' hot with the right kind of physique and dominant look. Not only do men wrinkle less than women naturally, but wrinkling can have a far less negative impact on male appearance depending on the overall look he has going for him…

It may be that like a gap of ~2-3 years in favor of the man combined with him dating DOWN in appearance is a very good combination. This makes sense to me. In terms of men putting more effort into appearance, If things go this route, I anticipate that a lot of what we see will be the things that give quicker returns- fitness, hair, clothes, with less attention paid to things like avoiding excessive direct sun exposure and having a good skin care routine, which tend to play a big role in how peop…

An age gap up to 8 years as a guideline seems at though it would have more cons that pros —would exacerbate the issue of many women not finding the men seeking relationships with them to be that visually attractive, especially over time. A 20 year old women may find a 28 year old man attractive (though on average, less so than someone closer to her age) , but when she’s 30, he’s going to look aged in an unfavorable manner, compared to her peers. —good chance of it interfering with social compati…

I don’t disagree with there being somewhat of an agenda, but I didn’t mind since it was still plausible within their respective universes and I think they are good characters. I like that Scarlet Witch is less strength based than Captain Marvel. Shuri had different resources at her disposal than did Tony Stark, which helped make things more believable to me. Commercials that try too hard to seem woke bother me a lot more than films.

It’s hard to say whose life was better. I do think a lot of the protection women had from things like hard labor and warfare were related to societies wanting to keep enough women alive and in commission for the sake of utility, rather than a concern for their welfare or perception of intrinsic value. I concede that I am viewing this through a contemporary lens, and also that the matter is complicated.

It’s more that girls who are cute and the right brand of crazy or mean often draw more attention than girls who are cute but more “normal” in behavior. Oppression (whether class based, racial, etc.) has been rampant throughout history, so viewing things solely through a male-female dichotomy is reductive. Still, women have been oppressed a lot and sometimes even oppressed as a strategy to pacify other oppressed parties (ex: Enforced monogamy- supplemented by measures to reduce female autonomy-like coverture, would have helped placate mid/working class men and given them a sense of power to distract from how little power they had in greater soci…

Look into the demographic before you consider this. It’s not uncommon for poor or working class women to have different expectations for masculinity, as compared to upper-ish middle class women- ex: may care more about men seeming rugged, handy, and strong, even if they don’t care as much about overall looks or have lower expectations for finances.

It certainly matters, but context plays a big role. Living together/married: matters more than when dating Planning kids/raising children:matters the most and creates the most stress if she’s earning more and doing a greater volume of child care/house work I live with my partner and I work more/have the higher income, but we keep lot of our finances separate, he does a lot with maintaining the apartment on his own initiative, and there’s no intention for kids, and there’s never been an issue

Even if men do potentially have a minor innate advantage in the ability to lead, it may not hold up in the modern world. Physical strength is much less important for survival and securing resource than in the past (which has benefitted not only woman, but also many men). Additionally, as we have shifted to a more humanistic society (Which also has benefitted not only women, but also non-top men), certain female strengths may play a bigger role in the capacity to lead than they did in the past.

For relationships, yes. Very capable/intelligent men tend to get annoyed when women cannot reasonably keep up in this domain (especially if that woman is raising their children- intelligent men want their children raised by smart women who are organized, resourceful, and able to problem solve at a level that the men find acceptable) + they also prefer partners they find reasonably interesting, which is going to be more common with similarly intelligent women. In modern-ish history, men have often leveraged aspects of their RMV- mainly resource provisioning enhanced by enforced monogamy measures, to do a lot better than they otherwi…

Regarding resource based hypergamy, I think women will be more flexible if it affords them a partner who is sexually compatible and who acts in good faith to pull their weight in the relationship even if they have to defer to the wife for guidance on certain matters— but women seldom have the opportunity to actually participate in this kind of relationship. I do expect that the resource requirement will remain more tenacious for women who want more kids. Men working on appearance & minimizing pr…

Agreed that there can be issues in any relationship; the difficulty is that these issues are pretty serious and are common with age gaps. I think it’s pretty fair (for lack of a better term) for the average-ish man to date down a bit in terms of smv as long as they still find their partner adequately desirable. Men’s current strategy of mostly mating up or laterally (in the linear sense) in terms of SMV for long term relationships, may optimize mens’ erotic fulfillment and sexual validation (potentially with some element of denial) at the very beginning of the relationship , but doesn’t really benefit anyone in the longer run. whether men would need to actually put in more effort than women simply because of the female advantage in sexual leverage. Has some good insights, but also supports an overly cynical,tit-for-tat, ruthless approach that can be counterproductive, downplays the importance of acting in good faith to the extent possible, and fails to adequately acknowledge the value of certain (social) assortive mating strategies. It also goes too far with making strong assumptions based upon somewhat limited information, that are not always accurate.

I’m in favor of Romeo and Juliet laws. I don’t like the actual prosecution, but I don’t think it would go well if we legalize sexual relations between young and older teens or modify laws in a way allows access for sex between legal adults and those under the current age of consent. Teens in general can be very insecure, malleable, and impulsive, and on top of that we have a growing number of sexless men in the late teens/20s and some older, with a jaded tit-for-tat attitude on sexuality, which …

Yeah, the colloquial use has sort of shifted. Im kind of torn. I don’t really know a good alternative; indulgence and acting on lust for post pubescent minors is very destructive and the stigma surrounding this has a protective effect, so I’m not sure of a solution.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/21 10:44 PM

But what we should do about that depends a lot on culture and circumstances. I think there were probably signs that it wasn’t great to indulge or act on for a long time (although perhaps not in 8000 bc haha). We are at a point though, where, at least in Western nations, you would need a crazy amount of willful ignorance to proceed as if it is okay. The gross part is the indulgence. Even being female, and less inclined to value youth, I can recognize that some high school athletes are obviously very attractive (and look older due to low body/ high muscle mass), but I don’t lean into “enjoying the view,” talk about it, or fantasize.

My parents were attractive and had good romantic chemistry, but very incompatible personalities/temperaments for a long term relationship with one another. They are now happily divorced. In the current dating climate, they might have gone out but probably wouldn’t have married, but would have instead have found and married people who were at least somewhat more compatible.

Lying about it isn’t good, but if a guy doesn’t ask, you guys are happy together and you aren’t nostalgic over your past, you don’t really need to shove your number or the dimensions of your prior to partner in his face.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/21 05:01 AM

Settling was probably worse in the past. The amount of financial and social pressure to marry was much higher and you were expected to pair up very early in life, so your chance of settling with someone you really didn’t want to be with at all, was higher. Most people that settle now are at least compatible in some ways.

You can’t really train them in the same way as dogs, but there are definitely things you can do to help, like not reinforcing bad behavior. Most cats aren’t actively antagonist though. If they don’t like you, they’ll often just stay away unless you initiate. I am a spineless cat owner though, so probably biased. Edit: sorry, fixed a typo

That’s fair, but I’d be curious about the rest of the story here. Cats that are extremely aggressive are really uncommon if your aren’t provoking them in some way. They will very seldom just walk up and attack you. Small misbehaved dogs will actually go up and bite people though, and that’s often a discipline problem. People give small dogs a crazy pass on behavior.

Yeah, I really wish women had more baseline lust for their linear smv match, but we cannot will it into existence. Your approach makes sense. I think the second component could help a lot to pair people up. The men having to work harder part isnt fair, I don’t actually find the non-top men dating down in smv to be unfair though. It’s allows them a partner who they still want to sleep with, who wants them in a way that men deeply want to be wanted, and a far chance to “lead” in a non-LARP-ing way…

A huge part of hypergamy, and the part that correlates with sexual selectivity, is that women prefer men who have attributes that actually make them more capable. The forces that were in place to discourage women from gainful employment and to devalue women’s work, and conversely, to boost the compensation provided for men’s labor didn’t actually generate lust in women because it was largely artificial. It did make women more way likely to have to pair with men they didn’t want to sleep with tho…

If the women dont like having sex with their husbands much, then decreasing the male demands helps keep the burden on the women manageable Right, I think this part played a way bigger role in happy past marriages with mid/lower smv couples than is acknowledged. I also think women were more inclined to be compliant with forced monogamy when virginity until marriage was a norm because they hadn’t actually experienced undesirable sex before.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/21 12:16 PM

Yes, quelling sexual expectations probably played a huge role. Lack of adequate conception and less leisure time (and probably more physical labor— even with traditional home making, which can zap energy ) would also have diminished male expectation for the more adventurous, frequent sex.

I think romantic love is mostly erotic love with a little bit of mystery sauce. But maybe we are talking about friendly love with the same mystery sauce. We have a difference of opinion here. I think women, even in when there’s a lack of lust , and even in the presence of familiarity, can experience a very strong, even butterfly inducing type of love for a man, that is totally different for the love she has toward anyone else. No, that's what you don't understand. He isn't comparing the wife to the mistress. He is fucking the mistress because she is new, not because she is better. The genders are shitty in both overlapping and different ways. With regard to wanting to fuck other women even though they love their current women— this is not a simple, inconsequential thing. Romantic love. I think a suprising number of women can be in love with a man without having much lust— but the problem of course that she still doesn’t really want to sleep with him in the absence of lust. In the scenario you described, if sex weren’t a part of the relationship and women were free to find a compatible mate who wasn’t higher status, a lot more women (but not men) would be interested.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/10/21 09:33 PM

I don’t know if there’s ever been a way to measure this but I think a lot- maybe even the majority of average women are capable of loving average men- they just don’t have proportional lust.

I recall this being a difficulty when you posted a couple of years ago along with some other challenges in the relationship. Have things improved at all since then? Was there anything that helped? The other big question is whether you feel indifferent about sex with him, or dislike it.

If it looks good on him and is congruent with his personality/interests and kind of woman he likes then niche is a often a good approach— it basically means you are being compared to a smaller pool of men (it’s not as powerful, but it’s kind of like being a well styled alt girl to guys who prefer it— less competition with other women) However, if your very good looking, and already have a wide spread appeal, it can be counterproductive as you acknowledged.

Being a rich foreigner mainly boosts RMV rather than SMV, so if the goal is mainly for romance and companionship you might find something nice… but if you are looking for a really physical relationship and know that your SMV hasn’t actually gone up, then they know that a notably-higher-smv-than-they-could-get-at-home, foreign women may not actually be thrilled about the physical element of the relationship.

I don’t align with the appeal to nature as I don’t think women’s higher sexual selectivity is a good thing— I just think it’s largely intractable. I wish it was different and perhaps things will change if humanity is around long enough. Women are not abstaining though single motherhood is on the rise if they were abstaining then that would not be the case. I don’t advocate for the general model, but single mothers may still be abstaining from the sex they dont want. Why not will yourself to not …

I am open to entertain new ideas but willing oneself to enjoy intercourse despite aversion is not effective. Women’s higher sexual selectivity is not illogical. There are evolutionary reasons why mid-ish and lower level smv women aren’t aroused by their smv match. So let's analyze that. Women must act on their instincts, and cannot choose to do otherwise. There literally is nothing in this world that can make women behave like anything other than monkeys in the jungle. So why should they be trea…

I don’t think you understand what it is like for a lot of women to have sex they don’t want. It’s not a pleasant thing, and to be honest, I’m not sure how great it is for men as whole to understand it, if we have any other alternative for minimizing/moving away from it. I want men to feel desired too, but it might mean that men who aren’t at the top of the hierarchy date a woman with lower smv than they would have gotten in the past. You're not allowing them to use your body, your choosing who y…

Women cannot will their way though this. If the option was there, why wouldn’t women en mass not want to easily enjoy, or at least find pleasant sex with the men willing to commit to them? Regarding the instincts, these are two very different asks. is basically: allow someone else to use your body in a very intimate way even if it causes distress is basically: do not voluntarily cause harm to someone’s else’s body

This is true. For a huge chunk of modern history though, women paired with men that were roughly their smv match or a bit lower, and most of them (unless the women and, therefore her partner, had quite high Smv) did not want regular sex with those men. They weren’t sleeping around before marriage, looking at female-oriented adult entertainment, or on tinder… but there was still an issue with men being upset (and I get it) about their wives not wanting sex regularly/not feeling desired by their w…

I’m saying that if women weren’t socially discouraged, paid less, and judged to be less capable than they actually were, then they could have competed in the work force in a way that lead to more women being able to earn a living and to not be made to pair with those they didn’t want to marry. Some jobs would have been out of their wheelhouse— but this was true for enough men as well (ex: most 45 year old men couldn’t do the same labor as the 20 year olds). White collar (and similar) jobs were n…

It’s not about women fantasizing about other men— it’s about a woman having enough lust for a prospective partner to find sex reasonably pleasant. If a man is objectively unattractive to her, then that man ranking highly in attractiveness compared to the other men might salvage things to the point where she finds him desirable enough to pair with. If he’s objectively unattractive and she doesn’t have any kind of reference to other men? I don’t know what would happen, but it’s not really not feas…

Because the rank is in terms of men overall, rather than what a single woman can get-ex: If you have a mixed gender village with 200 people and all the men are ugly, the 100 women are probably only going to find a small number sufficiently attractive, even though the men aren’t available to all the women. Regarding the second point, this was largely true in prehistoric times but became become much less so throughout history. Not all jobs were that physically taxing—- men who weren’t particularly…

The placebo effect is limited, especially for long term pervasive issues Regarding the second situation, women gauge male attractiveness somewhat by absolute standards and somewhat by rank. If all the men were ugly , she might shift more to the rank criteria and still find the least ugly men sufficiently attractive. Can you explain the last part a little more?

Women aren’t animals, but there are some attributes that are largely intractable (I.e. many mid-lower smv women not finding same rank men desirable). They cannot will themselves to feel differently. It sucks and I wish all women could have the same lust as a man does for his linear smv match, but It’s not the case. Edit: the functional side of this is that society had to impose a lot of restrictions to basically force women to pair with/sleep with men who women found it not pleasant to sleep wit…
