1	To share or not to share, that is the question Not saying separate finances cannot work, but IMO, joint finances are the gold standard for marriage and especially if you’re raising kids. Ultimate sign of being a team/ it’s “us” instead of me/you. BUT they only work well if you’re both on the same page: spending habits, investment goals, retirement goals, financial aptitude, etc. Not an easy thing to do. 2	How much does your SO being "objectively" attractive matter to you? It looks like you’re considering dating him, but not currently dating, right? If your friends potential scrutiny holds that much weight in this decision to date the guy, then you should probably save yourself and this guy some time and just pass.
