Ah, so a gimmicky porn thing, got it. Never used one, I imagine most regular non-porn actors don't.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/21 02:13 PM

Overrated, great, and what is your definition of a sex machine?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/21 01:04 AM

They're not. Plenty of guys do fine who watch porn and play video games. Lack of dating success usually involves lots of other factors.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/21 12:59 AM

🤷‍♀️ Personally I think this is a weird question in the first place, asking women here what other, hypothetical men get out of a specific kind of relationship. And those men don't hang out in places like this so really, what's the point of the conversation even lol
/r/PurplePillDebate28/03/21 10:55 PM
13

Something, clearly, if he's sticking around. I know the people who spend too much time here don't like to believe it, but there are men in the world who genuinely enjoy women's company even when sex isn't involved.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/03/21 10:25 PM
1

I don't think this is gendered behavior and I see way more "pick me" guys out there than women. "Alpha" males are essential "I'm not like other guys!" guys. I don't enjoy hanging out with insecure/petty people in general.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/21 10:14 PM
5

I think "Sigma males" are a marketing scam now that these dudes aren't able to make as much money on PUA/RP/"Alpha" content. It's the new shiny object to dangle in front of guys who actually need therapy but would rather pay for a quick fix scam.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/21 10:07 PM
1

I'm going to regret asking this, but what are 'girl inches'?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/21 10:04 PM
5

Lol like dudes don't do the exact same thing. Makes me wish I'd collected screenshots over the years from all the times I've seen guys say "I like all kinds of women, not just the conventionally attractive ones!" and it's just a bunch of young, skinny white girls with different hair colors lol
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/21 10:01 PM
3

Did a bunch of girls from your HS go to the same college as you, or is this a completely different set of women? Because if it's that, this likely isn't some kind of broader statement about women but rather localized differences and simply the differences between one human being and another. For me personally, I became much more outgoing and friendly in college vs high school as I was working out my anxiety issues.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/20 01:12 AM

I'm not failing to grasp anything lol, this is not my first rodeo having this conversation. You are still insisting you can just declare a man 7/10 when that man is struggling to find sexual partners you consider to be more-than-average attractive, like he allegedly is. I think men in online communities are in the habit of declaring themselves more-than-average attractive when they actually aren't. It's also not an argument at all to post a picture of a literal celebrity and say that he could on…
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/20 08:44 PM
2

I'm finding it hard to believe you think men who look like famous actors are having trouble getting laid. I think lots of guys who are "7/10" are being very generous with their assessments of themselves and also probably fail to understand how big a part non-physical features play as well, like personality and charm.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/20 08:38 PM
2

But if women aren't agreeing with that and sleeping with him, sounds like you're wrong in your assessment of him.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/20 08:31 PM
2

No, I don't think you are comprehending what I'm saying. Who decides this man is a 7/10?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/20 08:26 PM
2

If someone is "objectively" a 7/10 and consistently only hooks up with 3/10s, how in any way are they a 7/10? This is so funny to me, the way people will just look in the mirror and rate themselves, or rely on the ratings of other people who aren't sexually attracted to them, as if that's how it works.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/20 06:12 PM
1

I need to trust someone to have sex with them. I need to feel safe letting them do potentially very harmful, painful things to my body and putting myself in that vulnerable position. So no, I'm not going to have sex with just any random dude who gets a boner for me if I don't think I can trust him not to damage my body and respect my boundaries, and that has nothing to do with physical attractiveness. Or at least physical attractiveness is maybe much lower on the list than men would like to beli…

/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/20 11:57 PM

Uh that's non-consensual? What's right about forcing someone into sexting they might not want?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/20 11:56 PM
6

I very pro-sexting honestly, so long as it's consensual and not one person forcing it on the other. I've struggled with anxiety throughout my life, so being able to literally spell out what's turning me on or what I like is really useful and fun. I think it makes sense that for some people, they get their satisfaction through a sexting interaction and that wraps up their interest. This obviously happens IRL as well. I've actually experienced this myself, I'll have some sexy chatting with someone…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/20 08:24 PM

Sooo many things only work in porn and aren't actually fun in real life at all, random hook-up sex being one of them. Like you I can't bring myself to truly relax and enjoy sex unless I like and trust someone. As a fantasy however, the idea of spontaneous sex with a stranger is very hot to me, as are lots of other things I don't actually want to do for real. The human mind is weird that way lol
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/20 05:13 PM
2

Arguments happen no matter what on a long enough time frame. And once they inevitably start happening with a FWB I'm out, because if they're not willing to take that next emotional step with me my desire to fuck them shrivels up and disappears.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/20 04:34 PM

Falling in love. Realizing just how much you care about the other person and being deeply moved by that. Being content not having sex sometimes, being satisfied by their company alone and feeling whole. Being there for each other when things aren't fun and light-hearted and sexy and knowing that someone has your back no matter what. Forming a trust stronger than family, because you chose and build it yourself.

Ehhhh the older I get the less of my life I want searchable online. When I was in my 20s yes, it was very important to me that my relationship be "online", I wanted things to be "Facebook official", which should tell you alone how long ago that was. These days though I prefer as little to be public as possible. I've been with the same guy for almost 10 years and there's barely any pictures of us together online, I frankly don't think it's anyone's business but ours and he feels the same way. We …

The stupid ones, yes.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/20 03:42 PM
6

Honestly this continues to frustrate me. I have seen countless posts on the internet over the years from (mostly) men who put on their best behavior for their prospective partners and drop more and more of it as time goes on. My favorite example of this is when men refuse to clean up after themselves in their living space to the annoyance of their partners, then claim that they simply don't care as much as their female partners. But when pressed they'll admit that they made quite the effort to k…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/20 03:39 PM

Because it's not the same thing to other people. You clearly feel that way, so I imagine that it's hard for you to see things from other people's perspective, but plenty of people see a stark different between a FWB and an LTR and they consider it to be a good thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/20 03:35 PM
7

Sounds like you just don't like commitment. Personally I think it's sweet when my partner you know, cares about me. I don't see emotions and seriousness as something a partner has to "deal" with. For me the entire point of a relationship is going deeper than just the sex/fun surface level.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/20 03:32 PM
10

I might try a little harder at first but if he clearly isn't interested, I move on with my damn life and respect his autonomy lol
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/20 03:27 PM
6

I guess just being intellectually curious? I don't know, there isn't some kind of perfect formula that anyone of any gender can just check all the boxes on and suddenly become "dating material", especially to a particular person. This sort of question is honestly why I've started to drift away from this place for a while, human interaction is so nuanced there's almost no point in trying to work out the math for something that is unmathematical.

Has it occurred to you that I’m not interested in answering multiple questions?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 10:18 PM
1

This one, apparently.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 10:13 PM
1

It’s about the degree, like I’ve said several times. I’m not sure what else you want me to say at this point 🤷‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 10:01 PM
1

Some are. I think this is one of them. It’s being clowned on for other reasons as well though.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 09:58 PM
1

No. This is why I haven’t responded to one of your posts in like a year, you’re deliberating misreading my comments as usual.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 09:44 PM
1

Sure. But the degree to which people who see the commercial can’t afford the item compared to how necessary it is as a product is clearly higher than normal, to the point where a whole cultural conversation has popped up about it. I mean, obviously right? That’s why we’re talking about this lol
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 09:36 PM
1

Yes, as in, I would make that argument. Stop trying to claim I’m saying all advertising is classist, I’m not saying that at all. We’re talking about this one specific commercial, stop trying to spin this off to other topics.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 09:28 PM
1

I didn’t say it was discriminatory, I said it was tone deaf because it’s arguably classist. Classist is kind of a mild adjective in my opinion, lots of things are classist, it’s just how the world is currently structured.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 09:24 PM
1

Sure. Yet given the sheer number of people who scoffed and laughed at the idea of spending two grand on a stationary bike like it’s just a normal thing to do should tell you that in this specific case the commercial missed the mark. No one’s really mad though, it’s just a dumb commercial all around.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 09:14 PM
1

Yes I have. And no it isn’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 09:10 PM
1

As I said in my comment at the top of this thread, income inequality is at an all time high, and as I said in another comment a little further down, I think it is tone deaf to advertise a multi-thousand dollar luxury item during regular cable. There you go.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 09:03 PM
1

Yes, and here I see overlap between them. I think I’ve already explained my position pretty clearly, like I said this is a lukewarm issue for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 08:58 PM
1

I don’t actually think it was marketed to a specific class, I’ve seen this ad all over the place and I certainly can’t afford one those things lol. Like I said, I think it’s tone deaf to show a commercial for what is very much a luxury item for a majority of people during just regular old afternoon cable.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 08:54 PM
2

Lol right? I think most people would be stoked to have something like this.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 08:49 PM
1

Personally, yes. But I’m not also upset over it, I had a very “meh” reaction to the whole event, I have bigger fish to fry.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 08:44 PM
1

Some would argue yes to your first question. I’m not touching the second since it’s unrelated and this post is already off topic enough as it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 08:42 PM
3

The outcry I see in my lefty circles has more to do with the classism than the sexism. It’s just a tone deaf ad overall considering the record high income inequality. However I don’t see it as any more tasteless than those Christmas Lexus ads and those run every year. It’s just internet outcry anyway, Twitter has already moved on.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/19 08:39 PM
1

I mean of course they’re saying that, it’s part of the joke.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/19 08:39 PM

You’re welcome to think it isn’t funny. Free speech and all that 🤷‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/19 12:58 AM
4

Yes, exactly, it’s a parody of the community that did it first. I sincerely doubt that the women there are actually exploiting dudes for free dinners right and left, but talking about it the way they are is generating a reaction that is frankly funny coming from the crowd that claims women are too emotional and easily triggered. For the record, I do not think anyone should take advantage of anyone. But I appreciate a good satire when I see it. It’s basically performance art, so is y’all’s reacti…

Incel subs and TRP are full of comedy, it’s just not funny to me and most women because the humor is mean spirited and rooted in misogyny. This sub appears to be a very heavy handed satire of that, and to me it’s fucking hilarious. Turnabout is fair play.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/19 12:35 AM
5

Curiosity. Pressure. Low self esteem. An expectation brought on by porn.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/19 12:18 AM
2

Well sure but I’m talking about it from a woman’s perspective. I’m far more likely to fuck on the first date if I get the impression the guy isn’t going to hold that against me as far as being a relationship prospect, i.e. non-judgey/feminist types.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/19 12:17 AM

Because people’s satire detectors seem to be broken. I swear to god I take like one month off from this place and come back to see everyone losing their minds over a joke sub ala The Onion
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/19 12:07 AM
3

Please tell me this is sarcasm.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/19 12:05 AM
2

Just look at the fucking response in this sub. Each thread has hundreds of comments, they generate a huge engagement. I’ve known the place existed for a couple hours and it is painfully obvious to me it’s a joke/troll performance. And it’s working, holy shit is it working.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 11:53 PM

It is pure sarcasm, y’all are wild.

/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 11:47 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 11:46 PM
3

Oh my god thank you I’m in here reading thread after thread of people who don’t seem to get this.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 07:39 PM
2

It is a satire subreddit! I took a pillsphere break and feel like the people too deeply embroiled in this corner of the internet have lost the ability to tell parody from sincerity. Everything happening over there is an elaborate prank on the people who can’t see that.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 07:31 PM
7

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills, can seriously no one else see it’s a joke? Omg, ya’ll 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 07:27 PM
2

Oh man I like you
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 07:22 PM
9

Because I’m not a teenager anymore and the romance of wanting to be someone’s first time feels like a distant, childish fantasy. First times are awkward. Partners who actually know how to have sex are vastly preferable.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 06:51 PM
10

I’m aware, it’s silly haha
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 06:45 PM
6

I’ve been taking a bit of a break from the pillsphere and today is my first dip back in. I’m seeing multiple FDS threads and after reading this comment I decided to go check it out. And yeah dude, it’s a comedy sub. There might be some truth to it but it’s dripping with humor and sarcasm. The fact that people are taking it seriously and getting big mad must be very satisfying to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 06:41 PM
6

Maybe not you but some definitely do lol. I won’t name names but I’ve seen it in this very sub 😉
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 06:33 PM

Or any sex act they tried and didn’t like, even if they did it more than once due to low self esteem. “Why couldn’t she do something that made her feel bad about herself with me, it isn’t fair 😩”
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 06:29 PM
17

The same dudes that want sex by the 3rd date also want the girl to have a low N count or to be a virgin. How ironic. Indeed. Additionally, there are plenty of men who aren’t threatened by sexual history or slut shame, and they do tend to get laid before the third date 😉
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 06:24 PM
4

No, I don’t agree, that’s my entire point man 😆
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 04:07 PM
5

I am trying so hard to wrap my head around such a zero sum way of thinking. If picking a partner and being faithful is “discriminating” against every other man on earth then sure lol. It’s just such an odd way to look at the world. Also I wasn’t promiscuous in college, that’s kind of insulting. What you’re describing sounds like a movie, not a lived experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 03:59 PM
5

I’m in a relationship. I have sex with one person at a time. Don’t you see how silly it is to imply I see other men as worthless? I have friends, co-workers, all sorts of non invisible men who are part of my life. Your way of thinking sounds really sad.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 03:44 PM
7

Dude, I am a woman, don’t you think it’s a little silly that you’re telling me how I think?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 03:32 PM
5

I’m talking about me, I don’t go around considering all men useless, what a ridiculous assertion. You are implying women are brimming with disdain and it’s laughable.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 03:27 PM
10

As a woman I can assure you I don’t think every man other than my partner is worthless, what a nightmare way to live.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 03:21 PM
6

Lol what? Is this sarcasm?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 03:14 PM
4

People don’t want to be lied to, they want reality to somehow magically never hurt their feelings. If you ever tell someone you want brutal honesty and aren’t fully braced to have your feelings hurt you’re only setting yourself up for pain.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/19 09:47 PM

Anecdotal. I’ve spent enough time in the service industry to see a variety of behavior from everyone. I’ve had regulars were the men were nightmares just as often as the women. I’ve had men criticize the amount of foam on draft beer. I’ve had men send food back because it doesn’t look like the picture. I’ve had men stop me in the middle of what I’m doing when it’s busy to tell me a stupid joke I don’t have time to listen to. I’ve had men assume I’m incompetent and talk down to me for being a wom…

The nature of social skills is being able to tell when you’re making other people uncomfortable. So many people claim they want complete honesty all the time but I’ve had men lose their minds at me for turning them down. I’ve had people ask me for my honest opinion about something they made and then get heartbroken when I gave them useful, constructive, non-malicious criticism. People are fucking fragile, and there’s no point in wondering what society would be like if they weren’t, because they …

It’s been a long time since I had to deal with one in the wild but they were always super annoying. “pickup line blah blah” “I’ve got a boyfriend” “And I have a math test next week, why are we talking things that don’t matter?” 😏 Ughhhhhhh 🙄🙄🙄

Withholding you inner monologue isn’t the same as lying. Just because I don’t announce every thought that comes into my head about someone doesn’t mean I’m living a lie.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/19 09:17 PM

The gut reaction is negative because it now puts the burden on us to deal with this stranger who we’d probably rather not have to deal with who is breaking social norms. I’m a very nice person, I get told that on an almost daily basis, I work in hospitality but it’s still emotional labor, it takes effort to make an awkward conversation not awkward, and sometimes I just don’t feel like now having to read all this dude’s subtle clues to figure out how polite I have to be with turning him down, the…

/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/19 02:58 AM

Eh, there’s a few ways this could be interpreted, like someone else said better off to ask her since all anyone can do is speculate. If I were forced to guess it’s a play on the whiny “nice guys finish last” meme that implies women owe guys a chance just for being nice, which is like, baseline human decency. Also any guy who has to insist he’s nice probably isn’t. Genuine niceness speaks for itself.

A nerdy Vietnamese guy I met through a school’s anime club. I thought he was cute and wonderful but he had low self-esteem and didn’t think very highly of himself. When a second girl showed interest in him he cheated on me 🤷‍♀️

It’s also why being good at sex matters. Maybe focus on improving your skill instead of wanting better odds your (general your) supposed mediocrity will be less noticeable.

Fun side note, I saw a post on one of the relationship advice subs recently in which a young woman did exactly what the other poster suggested women do: watch porn and practice with sex toys so that her first time with her boyfriend would be good. Apparently this winner decided that she was suspiciously too good at sex and broke up with her over it 🙃
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/19 01:51 AM

Right, and then that relationship doesn’t work out for whatever reason, rinse and repeat and according to some guys any number higher than 0 is apparently a dealbreaker. And god forbid I ever feel like having casual sex. I mean none of this really applies to me anymore since I’m engaged it’s just funny to me all the men who want women to be both amazing at sex and also have low partner counts. There are also lots of positions that you can’t really replicate without another person, even if you wa…

The only men I’ve encountered who are on edge about false accusations are the “where’s my hug” type, i.e. the men who were/are part of the problem. I’ve always approached the guys I’m interested in though, I don’t think the OP is a good representation of average women considering she posts in RPW, a pretty niche sub for a particular subset of women.

Considering the most popular porn genre right now is apparently incest, I would have to say no, lol. I mean, some porn certainly reflects what an arguable majority of women are into. Porn that features seduction, romance. I’m personally a fan of scenes that start with a massage and slowly escalate. But no, the “popular” clips that show up on the main page featuring comically large penises, gaping orafices, ect do not represent the desires of any women I know, and I run in pretty sex positive cir…

No one is threatening this dude's livelihood or deplatforming him. His post is still up. This is actually free speech in action, people have just as much of a right to respond to him as he does to mouth off.

It stems from Stefan Molyneaux and I see it parroted all over Reddit and elsewhere. That, according to him/them abusive men get ahead in life because women who choose to fuck them and therefore it's women's fault that nice guys finish last. So here is a guy, an athlete, popular and attractive who espouses opinions about women that are problematic. He's being called on that behavior. I don't believe in god but that aside, if you're actually asking for my opinion and not just being snarky, it says…

Implying women who like to have sex are being "passed around" isn't on par with the concept of "everything".

Yes, did you not read the comments over there? The vast majority of them are to the tune of "come on man, I was rooting for you". Also would you care to respond to the rest of my comment about how calling out shittiness is literally what manosphere men have always said they want women to do?

Welcome to the paradox of tolerance.

No they don't, and that's not a good faith argument. And the fact that you're lumping me in with this strawman is just... I don't even know. Okay so here's what I don't get. I see in the manosphere all the time that women are responsible for shitty men's behavior for tolerating it. That shitty men get all the women and it isn't fair, these shitty men have shitty views and why oh why do women tolerate it. So the OP in the linked thread is an athlete. It's about context. In this case it clearly was.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/19 11:43 PM

That is such a big leap I have whiplash lol. Are you seriously suggesting an internet comment to the tune of "do better, I was rooting for you" is on par with the sweeping systemic barbaric acts of history? His use of "hoe" is casual misogyny that should be corrected. I mean hell, this is a group putting a shitty jock in his place like guys on the internet are always asking women to do.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/19 11:37 PM

There's quite a bit to unpack here but it really amuses me how you use the word feminist and liberal interchangeably. I'm a feminist and I'm absolutely not a liberal, though I have a feeling you're using liberal in the colloquial sense, not the actual meaning.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/19 11:33 PM

I don't think I would describe the criticism towards him as shaming language, to me it reads as very disappointed. The community was clearly rooting for this guy, in both his posts. The most common comment I'm seeing is "yesyesyesno" type jokes. As in, everything was fine until the casual misogyny came up. I don't personally see it as a double standard to call out someone who is themselves using shaming language. No one is calling the dude unattractive/neckbeardy/basement dwelling, he's an athle…

I've posted about this in PPD before but I'll say it again. I'm a woman with a high sex drive. Ever since puberty I have been among the horniest of my female friends based on the conversations I've had about sex with them. I've had a higher libido than several of my male partners. There was a time when I believed my sex drive rivaled men's. However, thanks to the men of the internet, I have come to the conclusion that men do have higher drives than women based on the countless stories I've read …

There was a thread on Twitter a year or so back where someone asked people to post their guilty pleasure would-bone celebrities. Whereas women were posting alllll sorts of men with funny/charming/intelligent personas who were less than conventionally attractive, like say Danny Devito. It was telling.

I don’t think anyone is saying it’s meaningless. The criticism I see is aimed towards the dudes who obsess over it, which is a bit different from just having a preference or opinion. Everyone is allowed to have dealbreakers. I once drastically changed my opinion about a potential partner when I realized they didn’t like The (earlier and actually good episodes of the) Simpsons.

/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/19 10:50 PM

If the harassment has already been reported to a supervisor, in my experience it is very unprofessional for another co-worker to intervene. I have had to report male co-workers for sexual harassment and picturing having another male co-worker feel the need to comfort me feels patronizing and uncomfortable. I guess it depends on what you mean by comfort. If being told what happened by the victim, saying “I’m sorry that happened to you, let me know if you need anything” is fine. If she asks for mo…

I’m very curious what sort of women these folks are picturing in the “I would console a female co-worker who was sexually harassed because I have empathy for women” camp. I have a sneaking suspicion this fictitious harassment victim is attractive and this is more of a saving the damsel in distress fantasy thing than a neutral human empathy thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/19 10:23 PM

It turned into it because it’s practically a meme in these parts. In regards to the situation you were actually referring to, I would expect my SO to feel upset that a co-worker was sexually harassed, because sexual harassment is wrong, and I would expect him to back up her claim if i was something he was a witness to. However, I would not expect him to comfort and console her as you’ve suggested elsewhere in this thread. That seems like crossing a boundary. Maybe if she’s freaking out and actua…

What masculine traits are you attracted to most? I enjoy a laid back sort of confidence in men. Not cocky is an asshole way, just self-assured. I’m not particularly fond of gendering traits though since many of the traits I enjoy in men are hardly exclusive to them. Is your partner hyper masculine? No. Have you found yourself drawn to more masculine men throughout your life? I’ve had “more masculine” partners than others but it’s a wavy line, not a crescendo. I’ve also dated women. And there are always top responses about how men want to feel desirable too. How they want to be caressed and appreciated. Ah, I see. Well, fair enough. Though this is just a personal anecdote, one of my first boyfriends tried to have sex with me when I wasn’t turned on and he just... couldn’t. He wasn’t trying to rape me, I was actually letting him see for himself that I wasn’t aroused and he was going to have to put in some effort with foreplay. If you’re putting in the same hours, chores should be even. If one person is earning enough extra to cause resentment, use that noteworthy amount of extra money to hire cleaning services. I personally couldn’t imagine being a virgin on my wedding night. I know for some people it truly is what they want and that’s for real cool, to each their own. For me though sex is such an important part of relationships that I’d not only want to know exactly what I’m doing by that night with that man, but also that my partner will be right there with me, that we’ll already know each other’s bodies. The sex that night should be a victory lap ;)

This is a good example of how feminism can also benefit men, actually. Not all feminists were shutting down male victims. Plenty, like me, support them. I’m personally a huge advocate for helping men get their rape cases taken seriously. As well as shutting down casual jokes about things like prison rape or adult women sleeping with underage boys.

Not really. I’d rather hear he had a triple digit number but that everything was safe and consensual each time than a low number with sketchy details. There is a difference between “only women get to make that claim” and a woman standing up to someone who invalidates her experience by claiming to know more about a woman-specific subject than she does. I can see your side of things with not wanting to be a burden on someone. But as someone who stuck with their partner through several years in the hospital, I can’t imagine just leaving him to fend for himself. And I can tell you it would have destroyed him. I couldn’t do that to someone I love.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/19 08:20 PM
4

Don’t go changing the subject now, that’s a different conversation that I’m honestly not interested in. This guy is claiming to know how most men react when they are rejected. If he’s not the one rejecting men, how would he even know? These things typically happen in private. As a woman, any time I’ve been put in that situation it’s been one on one. Fucking lol at the idea that other men have any idea what it’s like for women to turn down someone who could flip out and hurt them.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/19 08:06 PM
2

Ah, but the difference is what bad sex means to you. To a woman bad sex means no orgasm at best, horrible pain at worst. The odds of casual sex being bad are way higher than they are in a relationship with a partner who you trust and who knows your body. Also, as a man, you have no risk of becoming pregnant. There’s an entire universe of risk men just don’t have to think about when deciding to have sex or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/19 08:03 PM

It explains why you don’t understand why women wouldn’t be into casual sex. For you, all sex is good sex. For women that is not the case at all and understanding that is the first step towards understanding lots of other things about women.

So it’s not anywhere close to unconditional love then. It’s one thing if everything is fine and your partner won’t fuck you, but if it’s because she’s lying in the hospital with cancer and that means she’s “not meeting the bare minimum standard of being a female partner”.... just holy crap. And yeah, abandoning a special needs child is the right thing to do, dad’s dick is more important 🙄

I’m gathering from this comment that you’re a man lol

Couples who are friends? Yes, almost all of my relationships have been like that.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/19 07:00 PM

That’s a really strawmanny view of feminism lol. None of that applies to me, I love men 🤷‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/19 06:58 PM

That really depends lol. No sex is better than bad sex.

It depends. Varies from person to person.

They aren’t in every scenario. I’ve had several “successful” friends with benefits situations where it didn’t kill the friendship. But sometimes it does. One person could catch unrequited feelings. All sorts of things could go wrong. And sometimes good genuine friendships aren’t worth the risk.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/19 06:48 PM
5

Feminists would be the first to tell you that, lol
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/19 06:44 PM

Are you a woman? Do you have to turn down the sexual advances of men on a decently regular basis? If not I don’t know how you could think you would be aware of what the norm is for such a situation.

2

Yikes.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/19 06:01 PM

Men say that but I’ve found it to be bullshit time and time again. They say they can handle the truth but then they want to debate when they don’t like the answer. Or worse.

I just think it’s interesring how this conversation seems to be men annoyed at women wanting to love men and commit to them given how much some men also claim that women are flighty sluts who can’t love. Being a woman is so much fun.

Yeah, guys who do that give me a “This is the kind of person who would have tormented me as a child” vibe which is about the least enticing behavior I can think of lol. I know now that that isn’t necessarily the case but it’s hard to force past those old traumas. Reacting poorly to it has also gotten me labeled a bitch but I’m past caring 🤷‍♀️

Sorry for wanting love lol 🤷‍♀️

I agree with you that it should be possible to treat casual sex partners with respect without being accused of sending mixed signals. On paper that sounds idyllic. It’s something I never stopped experiencing though, I just got better at fending off the inevitable tidal wave of feelings that release when a guy whose great at sex also treats you really nicely.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/19 09:27 PM
7

Mistaking annoying little brother prank shit or groping for flirting. I was bullied as a child and was a late bloomer. I will never enjoy this kind of flirting and will always knee-jerk assume I’m being genuinely mocked if I get treated this way, even now as an adult who did finally leave the awkward phase behind.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/19 09:15 PM
11

Honestly, I’ve met enough men who I wouldn’t want to change anything about that I don’t think I can really answer this question. I could list a bunch of traits I don’t like but the reality is there are guys out there who don’t do those things. I don’t want every man to be my perfect man, it’s not like I’m dating all of them 😏
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/19 09:08 PM
2

I haven’t been in the dating market for years now but my experience lines up with this. I more than once assumed a FWB was catching feelings for me when he acted the way you describe and it triggered feeling catching in me, then inevitably heartbreak. It’s a result of having casual sex partners who fucking bounce after they nut and go out of their way not to give off boyfriend vibes.

I dated a guy once who I wasn’t super attracted to, but it wasn’t because I thought of him as “filler”. He had a crush on me and our whole mutual friend circle knew it, so I was urged on by his friends to give him a shot. I wanted to like him, and I did, but shortly after the one year mark I caught myself catching feelings for someone else and I realized it was over. You can’t force attraction, and ever since then I’ve had a very firm boundary when it comes to being guilted into dating someone.

Not necessarily, no. There is a lot of gray area here though. I’ve heard men tell tales about how “the second they showed some vulnerability” their partner lost attraction. However, when pressed further I’ve seen it revealed that this second of vulnerability was really some kind of meltdown, which is a bit different. I like men who aren’t afraid to cry a bit during a sad movie. Or who are comfortable communicating to the point of being self-aware of their insecurities. I want to know if somethin…

/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/19 06:10 PM

We do? Lol, no. When you get married you intentionally and knowingly intertwine the law and your emotions and love life. You are legally agreeing not to fuck anyone else. If you do you are in breach of contract, it’s not just about hurting someone’s feelings.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/19 05:59 PM

It’s because it’s ridiculous that it’s part of the list. Anyone with a normal dating life has more than likely broken up with someone. There are plenty of good reasons to end relationships. By equating dumping someone with cheating or other “bad” behavior it implies, even if this wasn’t your intention, that they’re equally egregious. Honestly if a guy told me he wanted to date a girl who would never dump someone that would be a huge red flag to me and would signal that he’s controlling.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/19 10:04 PM

“Breaking up with a guy” is part of AWALT? Oh geez. So to not be one of those women you’re never allowed to end a relationship, very cool.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/19 09:55 PM
3

Lol fair enough, okay let me try and summarize my stance a little better. It seems like men are more obsessed with length than anything. Most guys online who are trying to attract a woman with dick size will claim to be somewhere with 8-10 inches. That is... ridiculous. Getting poked hard in the cervix hurts (yes I know some women are into this before anyone sidetracks with this but it’s very niche, like other pain fetishes). Most men do not have dicks that long, most sexually active women know …

In my experience, when a woman says something like “looks aren’t everything” or somesuch in conversation, it’s when she’s defending a guy that she finds attractive that someone else doesn’t. Just as an example, more than once in this very sub, I’ve seen men argue with women about which celebrities women find attractive, the first one coming to mind being Adam Driver. I find him attractive, as do plenty of women. I have had multiple men tell me they think he’s ugly or want me to explain how I fin…

Which lines up with what I’ve observed in my actual life. The two of you are using the word compatibility differently. Compatible doesn’t just mean “find sexy” it means have things in common. The tv shows that came on when you were a kid. The music that was popular during your prom. People the same age are culturally compatible in a way they are not with people a decade younger. My partner is 13 years older than I am, and in many ways we are not compatible. There are references I make that he doesn’t get the way my same aged friends do. There is music …

I’m plenty into making sex look good but not if it’s painful. Different women’s bodies are shaped different and for some women doggy style with dramatic arching is unbearably painful. Thankfully I’m not one of those women but we shouldn’t shame the ones who are built that way.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/19 09:23 PM

I have only ever been annoyed and embarrassed when guys I was with fought with strangers like that. I can’t even imagine being attracted to someone like that. I’d be living in fear that he’d turn that uncontrolled violence on me sooner or later.

I feel like you’re not understanding my comment. It’s not a game, I don’t want to be hurt. The way you’re describing all this makes it seem like you think women are being cruel or flippant when with me it is the opposite. I am demonstrating that I’m serious about someone when I don’t jump into bed right away.

/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/19 08:48 PM

I have plenty of empathy for men who approach, as someone who has approached and been rejected, I get it. But what exactly does that accomplish? Most men I’ve talked to don’t want pity, if I’m turning a guy down does he really want me to draw it out about how sorry I am?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/19 08:45 PM
2

No, it’s damn near universal. I have always preferred to both be vocal and have my partner be vocal. I think it’s hot and it makes the sex more pleasurable and fun.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/19 08:42 PM
2

I’m over here shaking my head at how much everyone is overthinking this. Women moan enthusiastically during sex because it’s fun and because men like it. Also I’m sure because they see it in porn. It’s not fake to ham it up, it’s a normal, mutually enjoyable part of sex. You don’t need to look back thousands of years to understand it.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/19 08:39 PM
1

Do you not want women you’re attracted to to be the one to develop interest and approach you? What part did I get wrong?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/19 08:35 PM
3

So any moan that isn’t involuntary is “faking” to you? See, to me, it’s only faking if you’re pretending to have an orgasm. Turning up the moans out of enjoyment is not faking if you are enjoying yourself, at least in my opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/19 08:29 PM
9

I see it as me making sure he intends to stick around after sex. If I’m invested enough emotionally in a guy that I know I like him and want to date him, and know that I’ll feel hurt if he only wants me for sex, I’m going to do what I can in minimizing my chance of getting hurt. If he likes me enough to wait a bit, I know I can hopefully trust him enough not to pump and dump. If that was his intention and he gets fed up with “waiting” and moves on, I’ve dodged a bullet. It’ll hurt to be rejected…
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/19 08:25 PM
4

It’s not faking to moan in time with the sex rhythm lmao. Why wouldn’t you do that?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/19 08:17 PM
2

Women are verbal during sex because it’s natural and also men love it. Subsequentially, I prefer men who are more vocal in bed. Men who are quiet during sex are weird to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/19 08:15 PM
0

So you want women you’re attracted to to do all the work for you. What are you doing to make yourself attractive enough to those women that they would feel compelled to approach you?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/19 08:11 PM
2

I attempted to approach multiple times when I was younger and I discovered that, in practice, men don’t like it, especially younger men. One guy was self aware enough to tell me that he wanted a chase and that he wasn’t into me because I was so blatantly into him. He had a crush on a girl who barely acknowledged his existence and was rude to him.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/19 08:00 PM
12

You have men to blame for the current situation. If men weren’t so quick to dismiss women who have sex on the first date as not girlfriend material, more women would. Women, generally, want sex to turn into a relationship unless explicitly stated otherwise upfront.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/19 07:55 PM

Women don’t see making men wait as punishment. The sooner you accept that the happier you’ll be.

This is why I think people should live together first before marriage.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 11:30 PM

I guess my point is that if a man understands something is worth doing to get a new partner to approve of him and want to have sex with him, choosing to stop doing that over time shouldn’t result in him being shocked she notices and reacts poorly.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 11:24 PM
2

Where did I say that?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 11:16 PM
3

If you’re upfront about not being clean, that’s one thing. I’m talking about guys who hide it as long as they can and then don’t understand why their partners lose respect for them when it turns out they are less clean than they pretended to be.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 11:12 PM

No, now I’m having trouble taking what he’s saying seriously because of the words he decided to use. It tells me what he thinks relationships are shit.

Well at least you’re honest about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 11:10 PM

Surely you can understand that if he only cleaned when she was coming over, he was trying to impress her and create the illusion that he either lived in a home that always looked like that or felt she was worth cleaning up for, as a means of increasing his attractiveness as a sex/relationship partner. Him being a slob in secret when she isn’t around shouldn’t get factored into things, he’s going out of his way to not let her see that. Once he stops caring enough and let’s shit get messy when she…

Hiring a cleaner is wonderful solution.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 10:48 PM

In general. There are exceptions such as lifestyle changes brought upon by an illness or accident out of your control.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 10:44 PM

If you think a woman is worth tidying up a bit for the first time she comes over, what do you think it tells her as you start to put in less effort over time?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 10:41 PM
5

Cool. I think saying “relationshit” is antithetical to a serious conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 10:39 PM
3

I guess I just think it’s a bit disengenous for a man to claim he sees no link between a clean house and an enthusiastic sex partner, when men clearly know to tidy up to increase their chances with a new woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 10:38 PM
3

Why don’t you believe the women who say their men genuinely used to be cleaner?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 10:35 PM

It’s slang, sorry. I’m saying if they chose not to be honest with me, it’s their fault.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 10:35 PM

I’m saying I’m reevaluating how seriously I’m taking your comments given that you typed out “relationshit” intentionally, twice.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 10:34 PM

I thought it was a typo but I now see you’re saying “relationshit” on purpose. I think you might be a bit biased.

I could think of an endless number of things, that’s why I want to know what you’re thinking of. But no, within reason. I don’t think cleaning is the only trait that can be falsely advertised.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 10:28 PM

And yet you say you have no idea why showing less enthusiasm in a woman might make her want to have less sex with you. Amazing.

Their bad.

I mean, I’ve been with my partner for 9 years and my make-up/beauty routine, barring hospital-trip-worthy illness has been more or less unchanged. Like I said in my above comment, the ex I’m talking about went from dusting before he knew I was coming over to literally leaving actual garbage on the floor. I never cared if he dusted. I don’t dust regularly. But I don’t want garbage on the floor. You’re kind of arguing against a whole different situation than what I made this thread about. I’m in a…

If you don’t think there is any correlation between having a clean place and a woman’s likelihood of fucking you, why bother to tidy up for a first date? Why not just bring her home to how messy you might let the place get after a year or more of dating?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 10:12 PM
1

There’s plenty of variety I’m sure. That doesn’t change the fact that a sizable number of people pretend to cleaner than they are in the beginning of a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 10:11 PM
3

I learned pretty quickly that yes, it’s annoying when someone presented a false front in the beginning of a relationship. I would actually completely understand why a man would feel hurt if I stopped giving a shit about my appearance. It might hurt to hear but it’s not like it wouldn’t understandable.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 10:10 PM
1

Yes, the man is poorly communicating. He is saying he’ll do his fair share of cleaning when he has no intention to. I don’t have to nag because my partner cleans up after himself like an adult.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 10:05 PM
8

I don’t understand why you think a woman wanting things clean is a ridiculous standard when you say you live in and enjoy an immaculately clean living space when single.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 10:01 PM
5

You seem to understand though that it significantly ups your chances of having sex to show her that you have a clean place like an adult with self respect.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 09:59 PM
1

It’s a spectrum.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 09:57 PM
3

If your place is at a 50 when she sees it for the first time and decides to move in knowing that’s how much you clean, that’s on her I’d say. That isn’t really how it plays out though in my experience. I dated a guy when I was younger who overcleaned early in our relationship and then gradually dialed it back over time until he was leaving dirty dishes and laundry everywhere except where they were supposed to be. To me, doing that communicates that he lost respect for me, as he felt I was “worth…

They usually do, and when the man doesn’t hold up his end of the bargain and a woman has to ask more than once, they call it nagging.

Fair enough. Personally I’m not looking at a guy’s windows when a guy brings me to his home after a first date. When making this thread I was thinking more of dirty laundry on the floor, stack of pizza boxes, ect.

Do you think that if you bring a woman home to an intentionally clean home, she might be confused if you gradually become messier over time? I guess to me it comes off as false advertising.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 09:47 PM
14

So would you understand why a woman in an LTR might desire less sex over time if a man becomes messier?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 09:44 PM
1

I’m talking about any tidying up at that differs from how he’d have his place look on a night he wasn’t having a woman come over.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 09:41 PM
4

Why? Is it because you want to impress her and inspire her to have sex with you?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 09:41 PM
3

So why not continue to do that throughout the relationship?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 09:39 PM
2

If a woman chooses to move in with an unapologetically sloppy man, who she know she will never clean up after himself going in things, that’s on her. But in my experience that is not usually how it goes down.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 09:38 PM
5

So you wouldn’t need to clean on a first date because your place would already be clean. Are you saying that you are consciously less clean by choice when in a relationship?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 09:36 PM
1

Because messy men typically don’t act like slobs until it’s too late and you’re already living together.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 09:23 PM
6

A good full “I want to fuck tonight” shave takes almost an hour. I also like having pretty feet, so scrubbing dead skin off is another time sink. I do my own eyebrows and hair color touchups. I also do body scrubs. I swear, some men think women are just naturally smooth and hairless and pleasant smelling. Even when you’re “not wearing makeup” the rest of the body also takes time.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 08:47 PM
1

Maybe if he’s a digstuing garbage person he should live his truth, instead of pretending to be a clean, non gross person in the beginning of a relationship. She doesn’t want to change him, she wants him to the person she thought he was, the person he was pretending to be to secure a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 08:33 PM
3

Different person but no, it’s because a relationship is a partnership and it is wholly unfair for one person to do all the cleaning. Men who are content to live in filth are weirdly fascinating to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 08:29 PM

Get on the apps with a decent profile, meaning nice pictures and a unique, fun sounding summary. Brace yourself for rejection and take it gracefully when it happens. Don’t spend money you don’t have, if you can’t afford to take out strangers who might not fuck you, don’t suggest expensive dates.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 08:25 PM
2

Depends on the person 🤷‍♀️ I’m a bi woman and I’ve experienced variations of both. I’m usually interested in a relationship first, so when I go for the sex I’m really wanting both. I have had two one night stands though where I knew I didn’t want to date the guy (both ONS were men) but had sex anyway because, well, I wanted to. I’ve also felt compelled to date people that I wasn’t super physically attracted to but liked enough as a person for that to be outweighed in importance. Really just depe…

I mean if someone is asking for harder when a man is already going as hard as he can that is one thing. I’m talking about men who say “No you’ll like it soft trust me” and then get pouty when I’m not enjoying myself.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/19 11:48 PM
1

It depends on the women. Some women aren’t comfortable opening up about what makes them feel good. Better to find someone sexually compatible from the getgo instead of trying to change someone who doesn’t want to change.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/19 11:47 PM
2

It can, but even when it’s a result of pleasure there is urine present in the mix of fluid. And in porn it’s sometimes just straight up pee for the visual effect. I’ve “squirted” a few times in my life, but I’ve also had just as pleasurable sex where I didn’t, so for me at least it’s not an indicator of max pleasure.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/19 11:27 PM

It’s like that episode of South Park where Cartman said a girl attacked him and drew a vagina on his face, only it was obvious Cartmen drew it there himself since he also drew balls on it.

At this point in my life I’m the same way. I was very much in the “I don’t need an orgasm sex is still good without it” camp when I was younger, but these days sex without an orgasm is, to me, a waste of time.

I had an awesome argument in here probably over a year ago about dildo use in porn. Some guy was saying that all/most women masturbate with comically large dildos because that’s what you see in porn. And I was like exactly, that’s what you see in porn. It’s performative for the male gaze, men want to see women getting penetrated with something big. And I said that yes even amateur solo videos, even intended for an audience of one is still porn. Most women who masturbate with toys use small vibra…

Of course it’s from porn, lol, and I say this as someone who likes porn. Those memes made me so mad. There was such an arrogance to it, like “silly girls you’re doing sex wrong”. Dramatic arching can be super painful for women who have a sensitive cervix. If these guys would stop and use their brains for half a second, they’d be so much better at sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/19 10:16 PM

“Squirt” is at least half pee. It often has little to do with how much pleasure she’s experiencing.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/19 10:12 PM

—what I want is never easy Damn if this isn’t the truth. Sure I could walk into a room of random men and announce that I’m DTF, but I don’t and have never wanted sexual attention from strangers. I don’t want sex from just anyone. Men who don’t understand this are comparing apples and oranges.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/19 10:06 PM

Insecure men.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/19 09:49 PM

Depends on the level of cluelessness. A friend of mine recently hooked up with a guy who told her he was a virgin after the fact, she said she never would have known. I personally have never had an issue helping guys out who weren’t getting it immediately right. If anything guys who are open to input are a joy in bed. A guy would have to be incompetent on a level that I haven’t personally experienced for me to avoid a second encounter.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/19 09:48 PM
21

I (briefly) dated a guy who would both 1) get mad if I didn’t orgasm during PIV and 2) refuse to do what would actually make it happen, which was to do some kind of clit stimulation at the same time. He didn’t even want me to do it myself, he saw it as an insult to his dick. But then he’d get sulky when I didn’t orgasm.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/19 09:16 PM

I’m assuming you’re not a woman, it happens all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/19 09:01 PM

If a woman gives criticism during sex, like “harder” or “slower” or “rub here instead of there” just listen to her, for the love of god don’t argue about it. Don’t insist you know a woman’s body and preferences better than she does. You don’t. Back when I was younger and dating it blew my mind the number of guys who would insist women were having sex/feeling pleasure “wrong” because constructive criticism hurt their egos.

People talk a big game on Fet ;) Like I said though, I’m confident a lot of it is just fantasy and sexy talk and speculation. I’m someone who likes to be spanked and I like hair pulling but because of how I roll I don’t classify that as pain. To me, pain is like, getting literally punched or cut or unwillingly fucked to the point of tearing, especially coupled with a partner I didn’t consent to. I stand confidently by my statement that only a sliver of a sliver of women like that.

I don’t think I’m giving them “too much credit” because I’ve actually been to these things and you’re saying you haven’t. It doesn’t matter if “most” men don’t think women deserve rape for dressing “like a slut”, a judge ruled that as the case and lit that fire so here we are. If as a man you don’t think women should be assaulted for showing bare legs the best way to support that cause is to join the feminists 🤷‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/19 06:37 AM

Okay but that doesn’t mean they don’t believe in the original purpose of slut walks, if anything what you’re descrbing goes hand in hand. Destroying the words impact would certainly go a long way towards fighting the stigma that if a woman is dressed a certain way she must want sex therefore raping her is fair game. I should be able to go to the grocery store wearing whatever I want and have more than once intentionally dressed down to avoid unwanted sexual attention. That’s annoying and it shou…

You just proved my point. In the BDSM scene, which is a niche kink community. Most women are vanilla and do not get off on real pain. And most BDSM pain is not anywhere near on the same page of how it hurts to be unwillingly penetrated. Getting spanked is not the same thing as getting beaten up and raped.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/19 10:38 PM

Yes, I’m trying to change your view to what the correct definition of a slut walk is, since you don’t seem to understand what they’re about.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/19 03:02 AM

No. Slut walks are a demonstration that it doesn’t matter what a woman is wearing, aka whether or not she’s dressed “slutty”, she doesn’t deserve to be raped. A woman should be able to walk down the street wearing as little as is legally allowed aka “like a slut” without being attacked. So to express that belief women are doing just that, as a political/social activist statement. Some march with them in solidarity fully clothed, some are rape victims, some are not. To compare slut walks to hypot…

I don’t think that would have been me, as I don’t have a favorite male height haha. I’m 5’10” and my partner is 5’7”. Somewhere along the line there was a misunderstanding. I am not arguing with you. I do not cum one way with some men who are good lovers and another way with other men who are equally good lovers. My descriptions of how female orgasms actually work was not to disagree with anything you were saying, it was to spread the good word, as I am very knowledgeable about orgasms and very good at having them.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/19 10:19 PM
2

Your initial comment that I replied to about what the guys at MRP believe lead me to believe we were on the same page about this, that that belief is foolish. I don’t know why you’re trying to accuse me of not cumming hard enough with my current partner or something?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/19 09:59 PM

My intention was not to argue with you, as I didn’t think you were disagreeing with me. My intention was more to explain vaginas to the audience.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/19 09:51 PM
2

I don’t think it’s just the women who are arguing about this, I’m certainly not lol. From where I’m standing it’s (some!) men who are getting bent out of shape that they can’t make a woman cum with just their dick and only by stimulating the back walls. That isn’t even how women cum, so to me it just seems like a big ol’ hilariously ignorant misunderstanding.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/19 09:47 PM
5

Ow my cervix 🙅‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/19 09:33 PM
5

Ahaha no worries. I feel comfortable saying that women who experience “vaginal” orgasms are still having clitoral orgasms, they either have a particularly well-placed g-spot (which is the internal back of the clit) or they are getting their clit rubbed by the guy’s pelvic bone/lower stomach. There just aren’t that many nerves up in the vagina, if there were childbirth would be even more painful and deadly than it already is.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/19 09:30 PM
7

I don’t cum vaginally at all, I need to have my clit stimulated in some way, either by the guy or by myself, either is fine.

/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/19 09:17 PM

And I took that to mean men hear “women like men who express emotions” and proceed to express emotion by treating her like a therapist or verbal punching bag. I like it when men tell me when movies move them emotionally, I’m not going to replace your therapist, that’s above my pay grade.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/19 09:16 PM
7

I mean, if I can’t cum vaginally from one guy’s dick who is genuinely doing a good job and is someone I love and I’m attracted to, a different dude’s dick isn’t going to magically do something different lol No one’s dick can vibrate at varying speeds or has pearls swirling around inside it ;) I don’t know, sex toys are just so fun much and I’ve been with multiple men who love using them, threads like these are always weird/funny to me 🤷‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/19 09:14 PM

What does any of that have to do with expressing emotion though? Or are you saying expressing emotion is why you got a divorce?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/19 08:43 PM

I don’t understand this mentality. A sex toy is a tool in your arsenal, it’s not a separate person with a soul who you’re competing against. If you’re fucking a woman and also stimulating her clit with a vibrator that you are also holding, how is that not you making her cum via supplemented PIV? I don’t understand this unnecessarily pedantic hangup.

Do you know how female orgasms work? Some women can have their clitrous stimulated internally with a penis, the “g-spot”, some women can’t, they’re born that way and it’s just how our parts are shaped. There’s no such thing as a pure, non-clit-related vaginal orgasm.

I certainly think so. I personally consider myself to have what I’ve recently started calling ‘Mary Poppins big dick energy’. I’m very feminine and flirty and nurturing in many ways but I’m also not an inherently submissive person, at all, and I prefer and arguably even demand equality in my relationships. This issue isn’t so much can you be that way, the answer is yes, the real issue is finding a partner who wants that. Not someone who tolerates it, not someone who secretly hopes you’ll change,…

I was definitely taught to yell “fire” instead of “rape”. My dad also enrolled me in karate and showed me how to defend myself with a knife. My mother works with kids and she taught me early on about the danger of strangers and child molesters and emphasized that if I was ever confronted by a stranger trying to lure me away that they were intending to hurt me and to never trust someone like that. And yes, if I ever find myself a parent I would teach my kids the same things.

You seem to be confusing flirting and pick-up lines. I’ve always interpreted flirting as improvisational and it demonstrates that you’re witty, quick-thinking, that you have the social courage to engage with people you don’t know very well. Flirting shows you’re charming, smart, brave. Pick-up lines are often the opposite of that; memorized, canned, prepared ahead of time and rarely actually used naturally or correctly. “Young people should be mature from the get go and anyone who makes mistakes is tarnished for life” This reads of some super sour grapes. Men date shitty women when they’re young, too. If you don’t want to date a woman who used to date assholes, don’t. He slept a summer by my side He filled my days with endless wonder He took my childhood in his stride But he was gone when autumn came And I still dream he'll come to me That we will live the years together But there are dreams that cannot be And there are storms we cannot weather! Pretty clear she misses the dude, and wants more hot dickings.

Incorrect, I argued the same points as the other person in this thread, that the lyrics are about her mourning the loss of her virginity and innocence ("He took my childhood in his stride"), the loss of the father of her child and first love, and being seen as an outcast of society and a ruined woman, not simply missing the hot alpha sex as you were claiming. She also sings this song after having her teeth ripped out so she could sell them for medicine money for her baby. That you think one of t…

I remember the argument quite clearly because it was hilarious, and it was absolutely about you arguing Fantine as an alpha widow. If you have questions about removed comments feel free to take it to modmail.

I exude Mary Poppins energy, she was a role model for me as a child and I love her portrayal in the new movie, made me wanna go buy a bunch of cool period clothes and hats. I don't think I'm alone either. The real question is, are you the kind of person who deserves having someone like that in your life?

Yes, but only because no one should have that much money in the first place. Dude won’t pay his warehouse workers or drivers a living wage but brags about having so much money he doesn’t know what to do with it and jokes about opening a candy factory like Willy Wonka. Fuck you Jeff Bezos, pay your taxes and your employees you asshole.

I am not familiar with women seriously suggesting any of these things. However you’re right, I don’t really care what men I don’t want to have sex with do, so long as they’re not bugging me for sex. Seems pretty cut and dry and I fail to see the issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/19 11:23 PM

Not all women expect Prince Charming lol. That trope existing in literature doesn’t prove anything, especially if those stories weren’t even written by women. Maybe men shouldn’t act like their showing off persona is who they really are if they aren’t prepared for disappointment when they drop the act.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/19 08:57 PM

I think her point is that that’s arguably everyone’s true self. Yes, your appearance is part of who you are because it can be a reflection of the amount of effort you’re willing to put into yourself. But many men make the mistake that the outward appearance is the entirety of a woman’s personality, and that attractive = good person, which just, no lol

Good. Someone raped that woman, this story is a horrific.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/19 08:34 PM

Nobody is naturally beautiful in the way the above poster described, maintaining an attractive exterior takes work. There’s nothing fake about having the willpower to maintain an attractive exterior, and the sooner men realize what a woman looks like isn’t who they are the happier they’ll be in their relationship. Your outward appearance is not a “persona”, it is your outward appearance.

Women don’t expect perfection, but they do expect consistency, and men have a bad habit of putting on a performance in new relationships that aren’t an accurate reflection of who they really are, and women become annoyed when they eventually revert to their actual selves. This is what “be yourself” actually applies to. Keep in mind, women do this too, but we’re talking about men here. Men will turn up the charm, talk themselves up, bend over backwards and then drop all of that once he feels he’s…

It’s bullshit in that it’s no different than how men love women, just as conditionally. The only unconditional love that exists is between a parent and a child, or perhaps a human and a pet. A permanent power imbalance. Men think they love their partners unconditionally, but the second women start to lose their looks men are statistically more likely to cheat or leave.

If you only go out a few times with someone, it's not a real relationship and thus ending things isn't really a breakup at all. I think ghosting once things haven't gotten serious is profoundly rude, but if it's in the early stages of dating I don't think it's a big deal and someone I've been seeing for a short period of time isn't entitled to an explanation for why I've become disinterested. Most people I think would rather live in ignorant bliss anyway, people say they want closure, but who re…

Hardly. A fuckboi is a male slut who fits a certain mold, usually young, hot and stupid. He goes clubbing, he's only interested in casual sex, he usually only cares about partying and getting laid at all costs and is useless for real conversation or actual dating. He's also embarrassingly horny and is the type to send desperate late night texts and unwanted dick pics. Think the dudes from Jersey Shore. That is not a typical man, it's a walking stereotype.

If he's mature and attractive it's not a deal breaker, but most adult women aren't attracted to men that look like pre-pubescent boys or men who don't have their shit together emotionally. If I met a guy and we hit it off and I later found out he was younger than me, it probably wouldn't effect the good impression that he'd already made. But if I don't know the guy yet, sorry, if he leads with his age I'm probably not going to bother, though there are always exceptions to every rule. It’s not ha…

Bad analogy. Someone would have to be born married and then not give a shit about their marriage for that to work. I think you should unpack them, preferably with a trained professional. But you have to go in willing and wanting to work on yourself. If you're in denial about those thoughts being unhealthy or try to argue with someone who tells you it's unhealthy to think about another person that way, it'll just be a waste of your time/money. You might be able to unpack those thoughts on your own through meditation and self-reflection, but again, it will a matter of your own desire to change.

Yep. Women are straight up shamed, often by their male employers, for not wearing heels. I actually prefer to not wear makeup, but have been informed not doing so is unprofessional and makes me look “unkempt” even though my face is otherwise clean and normal besides not having cosmetics on it.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/18 01:53 PM

These questions always crack me up, because for decades women have been fighting for the right to wear pants, to be allowed to wear shoes other than heels to work, to be allowed to exist as human professionals and not have to code themselves as sexy females to be taken seriously at work. Now that we’re in an era where sexual harassment is being cracked down on, all of a sudden dudes want to make us all gray blobs even though plenty of women like to wear makeup for their own sake. No, I love giving oral, I’m sexually attracted to men. And women for that matter. It’s weird to me that there are straight guys who want to touch vaginas with their dicks only, like they are grossed out by them and see them as a means to end they’re embarrassed by. But almost every guy I've been with has done it without prompting and seemed incredibly into it. Maybe my life is some huge series of coincidences.

I mean, some of them have been white, some haven't, but that hasn't reflected their enthusiasm in my experience. Also lol at "pretend", I have had men beg to go down on me even after I've told them I'm not in the mood, I had one FWB where that was pretty much all he wanted to do, even over PIV.

I’m having a giggle over here that people in this thread are calling them low SMV. The word alpha has so much baggage at this point that I can't take it seriously. All I can hear is Sebastian Gorka's weird voice saying "the alpha males are back" and it makes me snerk. Before it was completely ruined by the internet, I'd say the difference is that a "non-alpha" person can still be confident about things. An otherwise soft-spoken stay at home mom might speak with confidence about a subject she knows a lot about. I suppose confidence is about surety, while alpha is more about an …

He did not obtain their consent I feel like this has been explained over and over again lol. Why would they quickly leave his room laughing and shocked and embarrassed if they’d had any idea he was going to whip his dick out before they even took their coats off? He invited them for drinks and to talk shop. When he “asked” if he could masturbate they thought he was either kidding or doing a bit, since he joked about being a pervert in his act.

Before MeToo, the vibe I got from Reddit was the work spouses were annoying and cringey at best and disrespectful to marriages at worst. I remember multiple posts from both men and women saying that their spouse had a work spouse that made them uncomfortable, and Reddit usually seemed to consense that work spouses are inappropriate. Again, this was before MeToo. Now the same hivemind has completely flipped on that now that feminism can be blamed. Actually, I think they blamed feminism for the wa…

Posts like these are funny to me, there is a ton of great art out there right now. The internet has us in a golden era of creativity, artists are able to cut out the middle man of the past and share their own work without needing to get signed or discovered, it can just go right up on social media or YouTube. Loads of great music and other media out there. It’s bananas to me that anyone could look at the current landscape and think the world is lacking great art.

I would still feel the most comfortable making judgements on an individual case by case basis, but I think your statement is more or less fair from a general standpoint. My beef is with the suggestion that a guy who does the exact same thing probably doesn't have just as many unresolved issues, and that his ~struggle~ to have the sex makes it less trashy. Every trashy, slutty girl getting fucked in a bar bathroom is being fucked by a guy who is being just as slutty for doing it. The above commen…

Purple users have always been able to comment on Q4BP posts if they feel it applies to them, as purple users are people who hold some BP views. There are close to ten now removed comments in this thread from RP or nonpill/outspokenly not blue users scoffing at the question or responding in a way that makes it clear they’re not the target audience. This always happens to some extent but for whatever reason this thread has been getting more of them than usual, hence the sticky.

What you seem to be missing is that I witness both men and women have casual sex while younger and then settle down after and surprise, their gender has no bearing on whether that affects their ability to become good, normal parents.

So? Did I say anything about how difficult it is? Promiscuous sex isn’t somehow doing different things to you mentally if you have to work harder for it, and even that is honestly debatable, I know plenty of normal-ass men who had casual sex in their early 20s, and no they weren’t “the Chads” of the scene. This is the correct answer, it is a meta satire sub. While I’m not a fan if it, it’s just the same as my own guilty pleasure pro SJW hangs and I can admit that. Though let the record show that I saw someone speculating about the outrage that would supposedly erupt if such a place existed and spoiler, it already does and this Reddit feminist doesn’t care. They are entitled to their comedy sub, we all are.

If you’re worried she’s doing it without telling you use a condom or better yet stop having sex with her. Do not drift like a leaf in the wind on this. Full communication. And if this is a fork in the road where you two fundamentally disagree, end it and stop wasting both of y’all’s time.

Every time someone brings this up in here, I like to counter with the notion (some) men seem to have that they can cheat on their wives and still be in love with them. Until you’ve lived as a woman I don’t think you can understand how different it looks from the other side. Men abandon their partners, their children, their entire lives all the time. This isn’t a gendered thing. Some people are just shitty. I love my fiancé with all my heart, threads like these are so insulting.

It is what this about, it’s bringing trans people under the same protection as we already have for other vulnerable minorities. If teachers and bosses are already required to know people’s names, it’s not a stretch to also require them to use requested pronouns. No one is looking like a straight up actual stereotypical man and asking to be called “she”. That is a strawman. Most trans people are at least trying to present as the gender they identify as if they’re asking for specific pronouns to b…

I agree there’s a language problem, but I don’t see it as tearing the country apart. It’s certainly not pleasant, but change never is. This kind of emotionally charged discourse happens in leftist circles all the time, I’m kind of used to it. Disagreements get people thinking, minds change, the status quo moves as it always does. The more I think about it, the more I’m remembering additional gender ambiguity in the story. The Swordsworn literally renounce their sexuality and are rendered genderless by the Star-Eyed. Within the communities of non-human intelligent species, almost all of them have a third neutral gender. There’s also that demon villain in the Tarma/Kethry books who literally turns a man into a woman so Kethry can’t attack him/her. I mean, it does come up. Also, isn’t the whole point of the Herald material …

How could she not? Every mini trilogy within the ongoing Valdemar timeline has multiple gay characters. They’re rare but they’re not that rare. The odds that Need has changed hands and been around for as long as she has and has never been around a gay man before strikes me as unlikely.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/18 03:05 PM

My takeaway is that she has encountered other gay men throughout her thousands of years of existiance, but that Firesong was the first man she’d ever encountered who was gender balanced enough to be a conduit for her specifically female magic.

As much as I don’t care for the subject matter of this, I am here for a deep lore debate about the Valdemar books. I don’t believe we are actually shown other gay men trying to wield Need, but by the time Firesong comes along she’s awake and she says it herself. No one else wants anything to do with them, and they’ve been allying themselves with the alt right and tying anti-trans issues into their existing conspiracies. The scary Jews are trying to make everyone trans and gay and Muslim and atheist because they hate Western society or whatever.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:53 PM
2

Transwomen aren’t men, so it is harassment. Free speech is not tantamount to bullying people and using words to describe them that they have specifically asked you not to use. If I’m a teacher or a boss and I call a black student or employee the n-word, even after they’ve repeatedly asked me to stop, it is not a fReE SpEeCh issue at that point, it’s harassment, it’s me intentionally using hurtful language to make someone feel shitty, out of hate. I guess we disagree on whether or not that should…

You used no preceding logic.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:46 PM

In the future, if you want to have a serious discussion about trans issues, don’t mention attack helicopters. It carries a lot of negative baggage at this point and is almost guaranteed to shut down conversation. If you are interested in approaching things “logically”, don’t use memes that make you sound like an edgy teenager.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:45 PM
2

I mean, you can get in the exact same level of legal trouble for harassing people for other issues, I don’t see the problem. Don’t bully people, don’t create hostile environments out of spite, it’s a shame that there needs to be a law in place but here we are. The fact that there have been no arrests though proves it was all hysteria. The anti-trans people know this, too.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:42 PM

And now he’s rich from getting people freaked out over gender pronouns. If I were a less principled person I’d be tempted to cash in, it’s clearly very easy given the huge audience for anti-trans content.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:40 PM
4

I think it’s funny that you think your principles are logical when you’re invoking the attack helicopter meme. If someone legally changes their name after marriage, it is socially accepted you call them by their new name out of respect for their new identity, even if you were comfortable with their previous name and maybe knew them for a long time pre-marriage. Your comfort does not outweigh respecting the way they want to be addressed. If it’s an accident that’s one thing and almost no one care…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:37 PM

Trans people get killed for not disclosing their status until it’s too late, society is currently trying to find the appropriate balance of how to go about announcing such things.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:33 PM
4

You can refuse, I think it just makes you incredibly rude and if this were real life I’d make a point to distance myself from you socially, same as if you casually used other intentionally offensive language.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:32 PM

Jordan Peterson became famous because of fear mongering, yes. It’s been two years now since the Canadian law went into effect that he was allegedly so scared of. No one has been arrested, even though he made it sound like it would be happening right and left.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:31 PM
3

People who put cis on their online profiles are doing it to show solidarity with the trans community. It’s an attempt to normalize listing your pronouns so that trans people don’t stick out so much when they do it.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:29 PM
5

This is beyond ridiculous. No one wants to criminalize misgendering someone. The fact that you’re using the lazy attack helicopter meme tells me everything I need to know though, so I guess I’ll just end it here. Enjoy being on the wrong side of history I guess.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:25 PM
7

They pretty much are from where I’m standing. At my job people are allowed to declare their gender identify on their application. It is no longer culturally acceptable to intentionally misgender someone. Depending on which state we’re in, trans people are protected the same as any other marginalized class, and once Trump’s out I imagine it will also be protected at the federal level.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:19 PM

I’m a left wing feminist. Why you’re lumping me in with right wing anti-trans feminists and suggesting the two things are remotely related continues to confuse me, but such is the nature of PPD I suppose.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:16 PM
2

Ah and here you go again, “your side” and then you go on to describe beliefs I don’t even hold. You are absolutely not one of the most flexible people here, quite the opposite in my opinion. You consistently push back against almost everything I say, jumping in on threads where I wasn’t even talking to you to lump me in with “the blues” or “the left” or whatever nebulous enemy you’re railing against on a given day. If you wanted me to be more open to having good faith conversations with you you …
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:14 PM

I think that’s ultimately the end goal of trans acceptance, but what if it’s a situation that requires you to specify that you’re not talking about a trans person? What word do you use other than something like “normal”, which is alienating and rude?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:10 PM
3

I don’t, which is why I asked. My guess isn’t particularly generous, which is why I asked for clarification. But okay, are you suggesting that by asking others to acknowledge your gender identify in polite conversation you’re forcing something on that person?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:09 PM
22

If a man is this worried about this, he shouldn’t have sex with a woman unless he’s talked to her about what they would do in the event of an accidental pregnancy. Women do not have the luxury of plugging their ears and humming about the dangers of sex. Men need to be more logical about this and stop sticking their unwrapped dicks in strangers if they’re so worried.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 03:02 PM

We clearly disagree about that.

You hope empathy and human decency is a phase? I certainly hope not. It’s funny, there was a thread on the front page yesterday asking today’s teachers what’s different about the current crop of young people and overwhelmingly the answer was that today’s kids and young adults are leagues kinder, less judgemental and more accepting of others than previous generations by a noticeable degree. It blows my mind that some people consider that to be a bad thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 02:51 PM

My type of feminism wants nothing to do with them. I don’t think anti-trans types have any place in a movement that’s supposed to be about acceptance.

I have seen one or two clips that get linked of overweight women on super trashy daytime talk shows who are allegedly promoting a “healthy at every size” agenda. These clips are always a few years old, the women are people I’ve never heard of, the audience is never on their side, and it’s clearly just the modern version of the Jerry Springer freakshows of my childhood. But thanks to the internet, instead of those people being treated like the outliers they are, they get held up by anti-feminist …

When trans acceptance started to become mainstream. It’s Latin and it literally means the opposite of trans. And it’s socially polite to have a word to use that isn’t something alienating like “normal” or “regular” or even worse “real”. Just like the term “straight” started to be used as opposite of gay. It continues to boggle my mind that it bothers people.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 02:24 PM

I hesitate to call GC types “feminist” but yes, like that.

If it’s an actual relationship, I think it’s a messed up thing to do outside of abusive situations. That being said, I’ve also seen not calling after one meh date described as “ghosting” and seen people get bent out of shape about it, which I think is ridiculous. I’m assuming that’s not what happened in the linked example though.

This conversation didn’t happen in a vacuum, I’m almost positive I’ve explained my views on toxic masculinity to them before. If not to them specifically, I’ve spent what adds up to hours making good faith arguments about it over and over and over in this sub. I’m not really interested in doing it yet again with someone who has already proven to me that it’s a waste of my time.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 06:35 AM
2

Also, I didn’t say I’m not sitting on dick at all, just not toxically masculine dick. I didn’t say I “don’t need no man”. I sit on healthy, feminist dick all the time.

I’m not really a fan of being talked at like I represent an entire group of people you hate that I don’t even act like so I guess I’m done talking to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 01:24 AM

This sub has had maybe two genuine man-hating feminists in its existence over the years and I’m still not entirely sure they weren’t trolls. Again, strawman.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 01:23 AM
5

Well, on a different scale but, you get to preach to people who are in sexual poverty relative to you about how they should act, while sitting on the dicks of dudes who don't actually act that way. You're going to be criticized for that. You'll be fine. I am not “sitting on the dick” of toxically masculine men. This is an absurd strawman against a nebulous opposition in your head, not something I’ve ever espoused on this sub.

Fancy soda machines break all the time. And fancy bartender machines won’t be able to make recommendations, invent new drinks customized to observances the customer doesn’t have the vocabulary to even describe or be able to be a shoulder to cry on and a nonjudgmental ear for strangers and wanderers. You are not giving the human element of the service industry enough credit, and I’m not just talking about the pretty female bartenders like you mentioned. I should have been more specific, but I had drug dealers in mind when I said sex work should she legalized and taxed like all vices. Legalize and tax drugs too, suddenly drug dealers are pharmacists.

And a former bartender, I’m going to have to disagree. I think it’s a shame to look down on the working class like that.

Robots can’t replicate a good server or bartender in a high volume restaurant worth the money. High school drop outs can also fix cars and create buildings, but I would never call such important blue collar work “dumdum”.

I don’t think many sex workers would have a problem paying taxes if doing so wouldn’t put them in legal jeopardy by outing themselves as sex workers, or if they even knew they had to, which I imagine many are genuinely unaware. You don’t get a fucking packet in the mail when you start doing illegal sex work telling you how to properly make quarterly payments lol. This is pure mean spirited garbage. It is hurting the most vulnerable people in a shady, shitty industry, and the implication that the…

You’re totally right about that one. I got called out on that a few months ago and dug into it and couldn’t find any examples of TRP using LMR “the bad way” for at least the past two years. I thinks it’s disgusting. Sex workers have it hard enough as it is. Also, the guy behind it, David Wu is a pedophile, so that’s cool.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/18 09:32 PM

From where I’m standing, this is the real question. Conversation about toxic masculinity is almost impossible in this sub because so many people refuse to move past their dislike of the name and the false conclusions drawn from said name.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/18 09:21 PM

It came out in the comments. I’ll do some digging this afternoon after my meeting but I’m almost positive it came out that he was turning her down too. I agree that sex is very important and that keeping your partner satisfied is a matter of respect in a healthy relationship. But his communication skills are/were in the toilet and it was impossibly immature of him to sabotage her business trip like he did. I’d be very curious to hear an update on their situation, though I doubt we’ll get one.

If I’m not mistaken, wasn’t she willing to have sex with him at a certain time but he refused? It was either the morning or night I don’t remember, but she was willing to fuck him as long as it didn’t mess with her sleep schedule and that wasn’t good enough for him, he wanted things entirely on his terms.

You're the kind of guy to ask the question you typed as the title of this post, which is literally all I know about you. And as I bisexual woman, it's just the same old tired stigma I've seen spouted about bisexual women my entire adult life. You're claiming that you don't see many "real" lesbians. Knowing what little I know about you, I speculated that maybe they're avoiding you, as that attitude is really obnoxious to the LGBT community.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/18 05:11 PM
3

I think most men realize porn isn't realistic. But every so often I see comments around Reddit (not even necessarily in PPD) where circlejerks form about men bemoaning women who don't do sex "correctly", as in perform like pornstars. The specific example that comes to mind was a thread about doggystyle, where men were complaining that the women they'd actually had sex with would arch their back up, and how that isn't as sexy as when they arch it down and stick their butts up. Women in the thread…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/18 05:07 PM

Yeah, in those kinds of situations it's projection. They're the shallow ones, only approaching you because of your looks. If you're shallow for rejecting them on looks alone, they're just as shallow for selecting you that way.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/18 04:58 PM
5

I think everyone probably comes off as shallow to at least some people. I'm sure some people I don't care about think I'm shallow for whatever reason. The people who I care about and whose opinion I respect seem to think I'm genuine, which is what I'm going for. Your question C is hella biased and leading, by the way.

/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/18 02:41 PM

Maybe you don’t interact with that many “actual” lesbians because they don’t hang out with guys like you. As an actual bisexual woman, this claim of yours is tired and annoying.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/18 02:34 PM
7

Honestly, the worst treatment I’ve ever received as a bisexual woman was from a lesbian co-worker who felt the need to “force me to pick a side”. Very disappointing coming from within the community.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/18 02:32 PM
1

Then you’re proving my point lol. That people who haven’t read the books are the ones pushing a narrative that isn’t actually in the books, just like what you’re doing in these comments.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 11:40 PM

No shit it has little to do with real life lol. Again, I don’t think you understand what my post was about.

He gave up his status as an exciting, unmarried, available billionaire under 30. And he gave up his status as a “Dom” which was a huge part of his identity. I think he also stands up to his controlling mother to defend Ana if I’m not mistaken. He gave up not being a father, which was a position he felt very strongly about before he was basically forced into it. Yes, he takes social hits for her.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 07:31 PM

This is one of the most dismissive things I’ve read here and that’s saying a lot.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 07:28 PM

So they took no for an answer every time? I genuinely wonder what that’s like.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 07:28 PM

Would you like it if an undesirable woman was “bold” with you? How about a man? What if some guy finds you attractive and puts his hands on you? Should he be allowed to do that without consequences?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 06:48 PM
1

So again, is it RP 101 that a woman would prefer a man with status give it all up thanks to the power of her love and her being right about where there relationship should go? Does it advise men to settle down before 30 and cave on issues like pregnancy, and whether or not his wife takes his name?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 06:44 PM
1

The fictional book is also wildly popular with women and has clearly touched on something. People who haven’t read the books assume what it touched on is the bondage but it’s not. Which is what my whole post is actually about lol

They sure can. Are you calling me a liar?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 06:13 PM

It depends on the woman. 50SOG is complicated because she doesn’t chose to go after a high status man, she finds herself meeting him via circumstances out of her control, after which he aggressively and unrelentingly goes after her. She is overwhelmed by the attention. She is a virgin and has never had any man pay attention to her before. But what she likes the most about him is how much he seems to actually care her. She likes that part, and she makes it very clear throughout the series that sh…

Well adjusted women don’t try to change a man in real life. Women who aren’t well adjusted are the ones who actually try to do it. But even well adjusted women who wouldn’t actually try to live it out might still fantasize about changing a man into an ideal partner for her, for the same reason men will fantasize about scenarios they wouldn’t actually do in real life.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 05:37 PM
2

If men actually believe this it explains a lot lol
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 03:59 PM
1

Yes, changing a man is a fantasy a lot of women have. It’s why women will stay with shitty men. There is a belief deep down that her love and nurturing nature will be enough for him to see the light, to convince him to want to change for her, because he feels she is worth it. That is the plot of 50 Shades.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 03:54 PM
1

Have you read the actual books themselves?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 03:17 PM

And yet other men who did read the book are all over this thread agreeing with me and my interpretation. Weird.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 03:15 PM

Your unwillingness to quote the actual text is telling. I think I’m done here. Nowhere in the books does she consider going after him for his money a challenge, that didn’t happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 03:13 PM
1

It’s not for or about men. Man can interpret it, but from my conversation with you about it it either went way over your head or didn’t actually read it.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 03:11 PM

You are missing the forrest for the trees. I have not made any arguments that a nonrich guy would work interchangbly in 50SOG. I specifically mention that she is attracted to taming such a man multiple times. But my point, which I think you are missing, is that she wants to change him, and the fact that she is able to is get him to is the payoff for the reader. Telling me “Well she wouldn’t do that for someone working at Walmart!” doesn’t challenge anything I said. No, of course she wouldn’t, an…

There is no male perspective in 50SOG. It was written by a woman about a woman for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 03:06 PM

It’s written in the first person perspective. The reader literally reads Ana’s thoughts. Nowhere in any of the books does she lust after him for his money, she repeatedly tells the reader she wishes he was more down to earth. Her devotion to him is unquestioning, there is no pending divorce that you seem to feel is inevitable between them. So if you say you actually read the books and your takeaway was the exact opposite of what I described in my comments and my post, I can only assume you’re ei…

I’m saying that being physically attractive is a given in a fantasy. Nowhere in my super longass post did I make the claim that his appearance and status doesn’t play a part in her attraction to him. But that’s not the meat of the fantasy. I believe I called it the window dressing.

His entire post is crticicizing her, as are the vast majority of the comments. Young people with low self esteeem have difficulty leaving partners who treat them poorly, because they’re more scared of being alone than maintaining the shittty status quo, regardless of gender. This isn’t “why don’t men criticize women” because women do the exact same shit, they stay with super shitty dudes who to everyone observing the situation can tell what’s going on.

I’m not talking about a bill or conscription by the government. I’m talking about an actual nightmare scenario where there are enemy troops on the American mainland. I don’t think you understand what I mean by nightmare scenario. Vietnam was not a nightmare scenario in the way that I’m talking about. There will never be another draft unless an army literally invades the US. I wouldn’t even call it a draft at that point, I would call it literally the only option or we’re all gonna die. But if you want to misconstrue that into mislabeling me as supporting the draft as we currently understand it, whatever. I think anyone else reading this thread will understand…

I don’t support the draft period, but in the case of such an emergency that would actually demand one in this day and age, it should be both men and women.

Why do you not think I would enjoy having sex with an enthusiastic partner who I want to have sex with? I mean, that’s what a “rape” fantasy is after all.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 01:11 AM
2

No it isn’t, the whole fucking plot is about her convincing him not to want BDSM with her. Have you read the books? Did you even read my post? I explain all of that.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 01:01 AM

As those under the automod have already said, it’s largely symbolic, a way for the state government to make their position clear to their constituents. It is a show of solidarity. It also makes things harder to be rolled back in the future, should someone attempt to do so.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 12:52 AM

What part of plot leads you to believe she considers herself his fucktoy? Also, what part of the story gives you the impression she intends to move on to a “bigger fish”?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 12:44 AM
1

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 12:43 AM
2

She’s not his fucktoy, that’s kind of my point. Over the course of the books she changes his attitude towards sex and love. Also I don’t believe I made the claim that I was trying to make women sound “better”. My post is about people making uneducated statements about the series because they haven’t read the books.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/18 12:12 AM

As someone who actually has “rape” fantasies, no, it’s not actually about rape. I feel like this has been explained many times in PPD.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/18 11:51 PM
2

Perfect response. Co-signing that fantasy rape is nothing like, and even the exact opposite of real rape. Even the people who do have, say, a humiliation/shame fetish usually still want to experience such a thing in a controlled environment. No one actually wants to be actually raped by a gross hobo or even just someone being genuinely disrespectful.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/18 10:40 PM

If you haven’t read the story, you don’t even truly understand what they’re fans of. Which is actually the entire point of my post you didn’t read either.

Have you read all three books?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/18 10:13 PM

Also, in addition to not reading my post, I can tell you haven’t read the books. Ana doesn’t have tattoos, doesn’t do drugs and isn’t a slut.

Please read my whole post, your commentary doesn’t apply to what I actually said. Or don’t I mean whatever, but specifically telling me you didn’t read my post and then wanting to argue about stuff I didn’t actually say and points I didn’t actually make is pretty rude.

Can you quote me to any part of the books that supports that? When does she, in her detailed and ongoing monologue in which we learn all of her inner thoughts and motivations, think about wanting to be with Christian for his money?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/18 10:05 PM
2

I’m not getting the impression you actually read the books if you see Ana as a golddigger. Christian specifically likes her because she isn’t.

Have you actually read all three books?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/18 03:16 PM

Yeah he’s rich, but the story goes out of its way to show Ana isn’t a gold digger. She is happy in her modest lifestyle when the story starts. His wealth and fame makes her uncomfortable and all throughout the story she finds herself wishing he was more normal and down to earth. He’s exciting and it’s flattering, but she would ultimately be fine eating cold pizza with him in pajamas on an old couch. He is the one who insists on flaunting his wealth around, but she isn’t impressed in the way he a…

Christian is not even more powerful than Ana. She gets fed up with him and tries to leave him at the end of the first book and he spends half the second trying to beg her to come back to him. She does on the condition the bondage gets toned down, which he caves on. He caves on everything, including her not immediately taking his name after marriage, which she only reluctantly does after he has an insecure breakdown about it. His insecurity is the main running conflict throughout all three books,…

His commitment, his loyalty, his eventual rejection of being all the fun stuff that TRP tells men to be at her request. Christian follows the exact opposite of RP advice. He has oneitis, he tells her all his feelings, he’s genuinely loyal, he gets married before 30 and they immediately have a kid. I think you’re missing my point.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/18 01:33 PM
7

Well yeah, cause it isn’t actually rape then, nor was the fantasy ever actually about rape in the first place. It’s about wanting to feel really desired by a specific guy who she is already into. He’s not even really seducing her because she’s preselected him to play that her role in her fantasy.

If I made it sound like I thought the bondage flavoring was meaningless, that was not my intention. Just that it is flavoring. It's not a story about real BDSM, which I think most people can agree on, including you and I. It's rather a boring person's version of it, which is certainly titillating to someone super vanilla and a big plus, but it's still a vehicle to the romance, which judging by the way they directed the movies is the real meat. His desire to be dominant is a straight up character…

If the whole story was only the first book, I would agree with you. By the end of the story though my takeaway is that he isn't really dominant at all, and what Ana wants from him most of all is genuine vulnerability. By the third book, the bondage aspect is no longer the focus of the story, not by a long shot. I'm realizing that I didn't do a good enough job expressing that yes, women are turned on by the bondage-y stuff. But my hypothesis is that the biggest fans of the book are like the autho…

I agree that most women don't want to actually be treated like they do in their fantasies, that's certainly true for me. I don't actually want to be a stripper and wouldn't ever actually fuck my boss, but I've certainly fantasized about such things. But I also don't think it's too much of a stretch that this particular fantasy (rich guys falls in love with her and marries her and buys her a house) is one that many of the women reading it would be okay with, bad BDSM parts aside haha
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/18 05:18 AM

There was a part of me that wanted to make the spoiler warning bigger, but I honestly didn't think anyone would care. I kind of assumed that anyone who was interested in the books/movie would have sought them out by now lol. They're not very good, in my opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/18 04:48 AM

As I understand it, Chad doesn't settle down, he fucks new young girls every weekend forever, at least into his 40s. Christian is like 27 and marries her after knowing her for maybe a year lol. And he has zero desire to cheat on her, that is not even a question in the books. She gets jealous at one point that he talks to an ex, but it's all just a biiiig misunderstanding and they make up.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/18 04:44 AM
6

But doesn't Christian go completely against the RP narrative? TRP claims that women aren't attracted to men who cry, or open up, certainly not men who admit to being victims of sexual assault, even if they're in denial about it. How is that Chad?

That's where I start, but my post builds towards The bondage stuff is just the backdrop, merely the flavoring on top of this much deeper, larger, overarching female fantasy. By the third book/movie it's more of a background element than a driving part of the plot. I'm not saying women don't get off on the dominant elements, but there are lots of books out there with those themes. What makes this particular story stand out is how she forces a change in him, and gets him to lighten up a bit and se…

He starts as the untouchable alpha, but as the rest of that sentence goes on to finish saying, the fantasy isn't that he is an alpha, it's that in spite of that, he ceases his fun alpha lifestyle to settle down with her and her alone. And in the process of this happening, it turns out much of his cockiness and bravado was actually a front hiding deep, unresolved pain, which she helps him work through. She fixes him, that is the fantasy, of course he's going to also look like "Chad", but it's way…

Ah, that scene. As I addressed in my post, part of the problem with 50SOG is that it was written for an audience (hardcore Twilight fans) who read it with implied consent between the characters. This is why people like me have heavily criticized it, because when you change the names and put it out into the world, it loses that context. That scene is written with the understanding that the reader is imagining herself as Ana, and the reader wants it to happen. So it's not rape, it's a ravishment f…

It's RP 101 that 50SOG isn't actually about bondage, it's about women wanting and getting commitment?

For sure. The author who wrote 50SOG didn’t know a damn thing about BDSM other than a vague aesthetic. You might already know this, but to anyone who doesn’t, 50SOG was a Twilight AU fanfic. Ana was Bella, Christian was Edward and Ana’s vaguely ethnic friend whose name I don’t remember was Jacob, the Other Guy Who Likes Her But Never Stood a Chance. Not comparing them because they’re equally trite either, it was literally Twilight fanfiction and a publisher approached the author and she changed …

lol at “somehow”, men certainly like women in wet clothing, no? Hot person + wet clothes = even hotter person For your second example, I’m also a little confused by your confusion. This is why gender roles are problematic. Of course men can be nurturing and a good SAHP, and of course women can, an example from my life, use a computer without breaking it. That is some spectacular linguistic prose to avoid the fact that no fewer than two new socialists will be sworn into Congress this new session, which strongly implies that... yes, the Democrats are cool with socialism. I’m not avoiding anything, as I said this: Only in these most recent midterms did we see some actual real progressives win races, and none of them have been sworn in yet. If by “y’all” you mean the DNC, no, “we” did not run a socialist, a socialist ran himself and lost the primary. Yes, it’s vague and confusing. You seem to be lumping everything you don’t like together and are saying it’s all the same and as such it makes one mentally ill, and that older people would recognize it as such. You didn’t say anything in your post differentiating the “good” from the “bad” feminism.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/18 12:57 PM

Another way is to imagine an older married couple of white descent with successful biological children of both genders. If either of the parents think that what you just showed them is mentally ill then it's part of the femosphere. This is absurd, there are plenty of older people who don’t consider feminism or being trans or any of that a mental illness. What an inaccurate blanket statement.

There is not a direct correlation between the way women want to be treated by everyone and men getting laid. Just because I don’t want to be treated in a shitty way by men doesn’t also mean I now have an obligation to help that dude get laid. You’re basically asking feminists to teach men help to help them pester other women for sex in exchange for not pestering them for sex. Surely you can understand how unappealing a “deal” that is.

Loki and Snape are both examples of the same trope, but neither are adorably clueless like the OP asks. Loki and Snape are both brooding artist types, long black hair, more smart than strong, both dealt a shitty hand, bullied in childhood, both desperately need someone who’ll take their side for once and give them a hug.

I’m not arguing against why I feel attraction, I’m saying I don’t feel it for different types of guys throughout the month, depending on whether I’m ovulating. And I can tell when I’m ovulating. I would notice that. Wouldn’t you notice if every single month of your life at the same time you suddenly lost attraction to one type of girl and were suddenly way into another? Consistently?

They’re not just radfems they’re TERFs (trans exclusionary radical feminists, basically conservative feminists), and they’re the meanest, most legit anti-male of all flavors of feminists. In the future I wouldn’t bother so much trying to olive branch with that crowd, personally. I say this as a feminist.

I’d still notice being attracted to a different type of guy.

Of course, are you only allowed to complain if the person you’re talking to can fix the problem? Am I only allowed to tell a doctor my feet hurt?

One where each person is happy with the state of things. Where communication is healthy and open. If she can’t complain to you, that’s a breakdown of commiucation. I wouldn’t stay with a man who ignored my complaints.

If you’re ignoring her when she’s complaining, I don’t see how it could be a good relationship.

But it does have to do with the bogus claim that women are attracted to “alpha” men they might not otherwise be when they ovulate or whatever the theory was this post is referencing.

No need for bad faith questions. I have a uterus and don’t find myself attracted to different kinds of guys depending on my menstrual cycle. So 🤷‍♀️

I haven’t watched the film, I was just arguing against the claim that artist type guys have’t been historically called faggots by more conservative tradcon type men. It’s a very common trope that has only very recently started to fall out casual use. We have regular users in this sub who do it.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/18 01:10 AM

"Art is for faggots" - 12 results in Google. "Art is for fags" - 73 results in Google. "Art is for women" - 40 results in Google. It’s not some kind of internet thing, this happens all the time in real life in the US. I’ve seen it first hand.

Ohhhh yeahhhh. It’s niche and back when I did it it was even smaller than it is today. But ohhhh yeahhhh it gets legit competitive. There are competitions for costume craftsmanship and there’s are also performance competions where people can write and perform skits or fight choreography or a dance number or something. My problem is bad faith participation. Your OP is a loaded statement and you don’t have any actual bluepill sources to back up your claim. Shutting people down with “You’re wrong” in your own OP is also frowned upon. What is there even to discuss if you’re going to play fast and lose with the way this sub uses the term bluepill and you won’t budge on your stance?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/18 01:06 PM
2

Toxic masculinity is defined as a concept exactly like that and is often discussed in depth with that understanding of what it means, it just doesn’t happen often in this subreddit because most discussions never make it past the starting line due to people complaining about the name and why they find it offensive. Coming from the dudes who coined “cock carousel” and “pussy pedestal” 🙄

Stop telling everyone who disagrees with you that they are wrong. This post is increasingly coming off as bad faith.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/18 12:47 PM

Your post should more accurately be titled “will some people in society always reject blah blah” instead of calling them bluepillers though, that’s intentionally deceptive.

So it doesn’t matter how they identify, everything you disagree with is bluepill, got it.

You are being way too literal. Just because attraction is objective doesn’t mean that in general, attractive people do better in xyz situation. No one is saying there’s no difference between a 1 and a 10. People say that one person’s 6 could be another person’s 7 or 8. Or 5. There is wiggle room, the 10 point scale does vary for person to person, but there are still universal things most everyone sees as unattractive, like sloppy hygiene or extreme weight. Also none of those quotes were from blu…

But they’re not BP members of this community. You don’t get to label everything you don’t like as BP, especially if the person saying it has a Red Pill Man flair. That’s a completely disengenous argument. None of the three quotes you linked are flailed as blue pill, you just picked three quotes that fit your narrative and attributed them to “blue pillers” thinking I wouldn’t check.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/18 12:18 PM
16

Also, blackedoutfast is RP, not BP.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/18 12:12 PM
10

None of that fits the claim made in your OP, absolutely no one is saying looks don’t matter at all. And looksmatching stuff is bullshit, unattractive people are not naturally attracted to other unattractive people, though they do often settle for each other and can still have meaningful relationships in such a pairing. It happens all the time. But it’s a total waste of time to complain on the internet that less attractive people still want to date attractive people, that’s human nature.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/18 12:11 PM

I’m probably not going to respond again after this comment, not because I’m not enjoying the conversation, but because it’s getting late. Here’s what I think is the solution to the crumbling patriarchy: socialism. A return to a society that loves and supports each other. Single motherhood isn’t a curse or a burden with a strong social safety net. Many animals practice short term monogamy, where a bonded pair will get the offspring to the point where it can survive on its own, and then both paren…

Men don't like that today At this point in our history as a species, yes. and they didn’t like it back then. This is up for debate. Under a system where everyone is equal and the whole community has sex with each other and raises all the children together, why would men feel disposable? There’s no reason they’d feel shame for something that had never been a gender norm. Men weren’t being shamed for not knowing which children were specifically theirs because it didn’t matter. All the children wer…

Oh I don’t think it came out of the blue at all. It’s been cobbled together over thousands of years. There’s a book I read years ago called Sex at Dawn that talks about the sexual habits of early humans. Here’s a summary: In opposition to what the authors see as the "standard narrative" of human sexual evolution, they contend that having multiple sexual partners was common and accepted in the environment of evolutionary adaptedness. Mobile self-contained groups of hunter gatherers are posited as…

I wouldn’t say it was a response to hypergamy, but more broadly a way to control women just in general. Women make children. Having control over women is having control over society and the future of society. Patriarchy is also harmful to men keep in mind, as it wants to keep specific men in power and subjugate others. Patriarchy is almost completely intertwined with religion, and has used religion to enforce gender roles, including the role of “lesser” men.

Well, to get all existential and shit about it, each species of animals found something that worked. There is no permanent thread in the fabric of reality that dictates animals of any gender have to be or do anything, they are merely the end product or at least the current state of their evolution. There are trends sure, but male seahorses give birth. Some species of reptiles and fish will literally genetically switch gender to even out the ratio of the population. None of this is carved into st…

There are just as many animal species who aren’t Patriarchal though. There are Matriarchal animals like bees, or to a more extreme end hyenas, who go so far as to sexually dominate male hyenas to assert power over them. Or Angler fish, where only the females function like actual fish, swimming around freely and eating stuff. The males, smaller and weaker, quickly find themselves stuck to the side of a female, gradually being absorbed literally into her body so she can use his genitals to impregn…

Toxic (whatever) depends on the person being coerced by external cultural (institutionalized) expectations into doing something that is destructive? Yes. For example, the traits that fall under toxic masculinity often correlate with the things men historically have been shamed for (you throw like a girl, you’re a pussy/faggot/weakling, more recently cuck/soyboy) by their peers and by adult authority figures. They then overdo it to a detrimental degree to prove they’re masculine. In my own experi…

My fiancé lol. He’s a 10 to me. There are things about him that other women would hold against him, but they’re either non-issues I don’t care about either way (like his height, I’m taller) or straight up bonuses (he has long awesome rockstar hair and tattoos, he’s a sensitive artist type). Hmm. Depending on how common it is to the culture of a given area, it could be. For it to be toxic femininity it would need to be something she was encouraged to do growing up, by both peers and adults, and is actively shamed for not doing by gender traditionalists, as it was done to them, perpetuating the toxic cycle generationally. This isn’t something women are taught to do in my area, but in some stereotypical gold digger community where alllll the wives are super shallow and married for mon…

Assuming someone actually wanted to talk about toxic femininity in good faith and not as a “haha checkmate feminists” dunk, well... Hypergamy can be toxic, if she’s abandoning perfectly good relationships or neurotically self-sabotaging her relationships because she obsesses over there being something better out there. That isn’t exclusive to women though, and isn’t an expected part of the female gender role. It’s the opposite of expected of traditional femininity actually, women are supposed to…

It was intentionally vague, as I was painting with a wide brush. The specifics I listed later in the comment were examples of someone not having their shit together that could lead to a breakup, and could apply to any gender. Everyone puts on their best face in a new relationship, lots of time goes into appearance, hygiene and tidiness, you’re on your best behavior, you laugh at all their jokes, you’re easily agreeable, eager to please. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. A big demographic of TRP, from what I’ve observed at least, are guys who recently experienced a breakup. They’re hurting and out looking for advice. Maybe their partner left them because they didn’t have their shit together, maybe they’ve seen her start seeing someone new who visibly does have his shit together. They’re hurt and they find TRP and they come across “hypergamy” and it all makes sense, those treacherous women, AWALT! But like... if the woman had been…

Asking people for their definition is the way to go, for sure. I should have specified, but my comment was mostly directed at the community at large, especially since we have an influx of newcomers post-purge. I’ve even seen some people trying to hammer down a solid definition of purple pill recently, and that’s hilariously even vaguer, just “I agree with some of both of you guys” and where that lands varies wildly lol

I’m just gonna go ahead and jump in here since I’ve seen a few comment chains recently using different versions of “blue pill”. There are basically two vague definitions of blue pill. TRPers refer to blue pill as any behavior they might have done before “taking the pill”. Maybe they were a doormat in relationships, maybe they found themselves friend zoned, got cheated on, ect. Whatever behavior that changed once they “snapped out of it” and they now look back on with disdain and regret is blue p…

If you’re aware of the rules, stop breaking them. I’m being nice because I’m involved with this thread, but I’m a mod so I’m letting you know. Don’t tell people their questions are stupid and don’t tell people you hope they learn to read better just for disagreeing with you.

Yes you did. Do you like asking stupid questions? It’s literally the reason I started talking to you. To attempt to reason with you and get you to see how it’s not a stupid question. But now you’ve turned that incivility on me and started accusing me of off-the-wall stuff like hating men, so I’m backing off and letting you know that sort of thing is against the rules here.

She’s probably asleep or doing something, I’m sure she’ll defend herself just fine the next time she checks Reddit. Living in a big city is great, I brush cold approaches off and they are a small price to pay for all the other things I love about it. You are reading way too much into what I’m saying. Again, I don’t hate men, even the ones who cold approach, I just am not interested in them and think they’re annoying. That’s not the same thing as hate. This entire thread is merely women stating an opinion and dudes trying to argue us out of that opinion. To which I say lol

I don’t hate men, men are great. I hate rude people, maybe not even hate, I don’t have sex with rude people. Not dating someone is not equivalent to hate. Hate for men? We’re on completely different wavelengths, jeesuz. Anyways, the reason I jumped into this thread is because you called that other user’s comment stupid, which I took objection to. Having self respect and personal boundaries for what you’re willing to put up with isn’t stupid.

I never said one things about bars, you brought bars up. I would be open to the idea of a cold approach at a bar because it’s socially understood that’s what bars are for and I wouldn’t hold it against a guy for trying in such a venue. However, I am not single, not looking, and don’t go to bars looking for men. So the cold approaches I experience are mostly in places where I’m busy, or where I consider asking a stranger on a date to be genuinely weird, like a grocery store. Or on the subway, whe…

How is mere agreement white knighting? Isn’t that something specifically describing a man defending a woman he hopes will now look favorably at him? I’m a woman btw, and I share this other woman’s view. Do you understand the difference between “I don’t like something and won’t respond positively to it” and “Men should stop doing this entirely”?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/10/18 11:38 AM

I am answering it. I’m trying to get you to relate to why being interrupted is weird and disrespectful of one’s time.

/r/PurplePillDebate22/10/18 11:34 AM

It can be both. Do you like being interrupted when you’re busy? When you’ve got a schedule to keep? Do you like it when people ignore your personal boundaries and disregard social norms because they consider their desire to interact with you more important than anything else?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/10/18 11:33 AM

That’s great that it works for you but you either must be abnormally good looking and charming, or have an incredible knack for visually identifying women who aren’t put off by it. Either way good for you, no sarcasm. But that doesn’t change anything about how I feel about cold approaches.

It’s not a stupid question, and I think it would do some guys in here some good to actually listen to what women are saying in this thread. Guys are quick to defend the cold approach because they want it to theoretically work for them someday. It’s irritating to see a woman say she’s not open to cold approaches because hey, that means she wouldn’t give me a chance! And that’s where the divide takes place. Because while men want a woman to be hypothetically open to a cold approach because they wa…

It’s not crazy at all. Someone is not going to be so attractive, as a stranger, than I’m willing to ignore social faux pas because of his looks. How can I even know if I like a guy or not during a cold approach? Obviously if for some reason I’m into it and the guy isn’t doing it in a weird way I wouldn’t write him off, but in my experience that is extremely rare. Some women are open to being approached by strangers but I never have been.

I’m always a little astounded by this take. Personally no, I am not open to the “opportunity to meet a good potential partner” via a completely cold approach. To me that sounds almost like paranoia, worrying about the potential outcomes of every single interaction with a stranger I have. What if that random guy was the one? It reads like the plot to a manic pixie dream girl movie, where the trope of “a stranger who changes your life forever” is way over romanticized, I’d argue dangerously so. I’…

And there were a bunch of guys who were just too stubborn to change. This is what happens the majority of the time. I’ve tried to help multiple people over the years, most of them never budge from their starting position because despite claiming to be desperate for advice, there’s an excuse for why they can’t try every suggestion made to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/18 12:15 PM

Helping people isn’t gone on the left, just wounding someone’s self worth in the name of “helping” them. Like I said, there are other ways to give someone advice than to give them a complex about their masculinity. If someone is floundering in their responsibility, you don’t need to tell them to be a man, you can just as easily tell them to be an adult or to get their shit together.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/18 02:13 AM

You seem to know saying what you want to say to your friends would potentially cause a problem between you and them. It’s always a risk to give someone tough love advice if you’re not completely sure they’d want to hear it. If you want to help, I think there’s better advice than “be more masculine” anyways. They’re already opening up to you about their problems, maybe dig deeper and see if you can give more personalized advice.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/18 11:27 PM

You don’t. You’re asking how to socially enforce your version of masculinity in a way that won’t offend people? I mean, there isn’t really a PC way to do something that is inherently un-PC in and of itself. Punishing men you don’t feel are masculine enough by calling them pussy or faggot is textbook toxic masculinity, that’s how negative issues surrounding a fear of not being “man enough” take route in someone’s mind. If someone is doing something specific that you want to call out as their frie…

I mean, I don’t play by the girl game rules, so I mostly agree with you. All of my worthwhile LTRs have developed from friendships, I think it’s better to get to know someone before sex is involved if its important to you. Sex is obviously going to add nuance to getting to know someone, but the idea of having sex first then finding out if you have things in common with them is silly to me. You do not make good quality content. I have tried to tell you this politely many times, for example “read the room”. You are trying to force the content you want to write that only benefits you on a community that is not designed for it nor is asking for it. The fact that you say “well there isn’t a rule against it” when there has not been a single other person making journal posts in the months that you’ve been here is extremely telling of how you’re choosing to view the world.

Neither does “men and women love differently” to be real, especially coming from a man who thinks cheating isn’t mutually exclusive with loving your wife. All that statement proves is that men can’t love unconditionally either. If they could, they wouldn’t cheat. And they wouldn’t hamster themselves into believing male cheating is more noble or less offensive than female cheating.

My take away from the “women file more” stat is that men are more content to stay in failing/failed marriages than women. Also because I gather more women find themselves in the household manager role than men, and even if the man is over it he’ll put it off. If he’s not gonna clean up after himself and rememebr his own important dates and do his own laundry why would he take the time to file for divorce?

I guess it depends on your definition of dominant. One person could start off more dominant and then it could switch. I think the only time sex doesn’t have at least some element of dominance to it would be during “love making” between two partners also way into each other emotionally. That wouldn’t happen during casual sex, at least not in my experience.

I didn’t say anything about consent and it doesn’t matter if it’s an accident or not. Even if it’s 100% an accident, yelping in pain is not a cunty overreaction to having a dick shoved up your ass with no warning.

I don’t think finding yourself being penetrated in the “wrong hole” and vocalizing not being into it is an overreaction, let alone a cunty one lol. /r/PurplePillDebate13/10/18 02:05 PM
3

Masculinity isn’t a meter inside you though, you can overcome feeling emasculated. The comment you were referencing talked about the more experienced partner taking the reigns with a virgin and blowing his mind with her skills, that sounds like a completely positive, non-emasculating experience. Hell, the internet is full of inexperienced men who fantasize about just such a woman.
