Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.I literally want to tell everyone thinking of getting married not to unless their wife is a unicorn. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 10:37 PM

Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.I just contracted a bunch of divorce firms and booked an appointment with amicable tomorrow. I would love to keep in touch if cool just to see if there's lessons either of us can share either way v | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 10:36 PM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.100%. Keeping the peace was mentioned. Also torridly agree that there have support for men when it's the other way round | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 10:34 PM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce. This sounds guide promising. Well done for acting smart and not emotionally. Where are based. I’ve been documenting this. My wife kind of knows this. But she don’t know the extent to which I have voice recordings showing her mental instability, emotional abuse and attempting to alienate my son from me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 05:17 PM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.Yeah. It man’s no sense. I feel there’s needs to be a pragmatic overhaul of the divorce system. And it needs to be done by a female politician otherwise woman will say blame men. In today’s culture, both people going into a marriage need to protect their assets/income. E.g if i remarried a colleague, the chances are they would be a high earner like me and would want to protect their hard earn wealth. I would respect that. Likewise, if I remarried someone who came with lots of savings from inheri… | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 05:10 PM

Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.Fingers crossed. Her judgment don’t sound great from what you’ve said. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 05:04 PM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce. Are you in the US? I’m in the UK. But I would love to know how you managed up protect yourself? | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 05:01 PM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.I wish I could pin your last sentence somewhere. 🤩 | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 04:55 PM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.Annoyingly, she would get more money from me than she would have earned in her career. Feels broken to me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 02:52 PM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce. Thanks for your perspective. Sounds like you have the right attitude. Given how much time my wife has at home, she could do all of this and more. But she don’t | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 02:51 PM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce. In this case. My wife wants to claim part of my success. She don’t even know what I do for a job day to day. We’ve been married 11. Is only recently she’s got my job title correct. Ffs. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 02:50 PM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.I recently took two weeks off work to look after my wife (post op) and son. She kept asking me over and over if I found it hard. The answer she wanted was that it was hard. The reality is, I found it easier than my high pressure job. Even with my job, I cook dinner every night, I do dishes, I iron my own clothes, I put son to bed with wife, I walk the dog and look after her. I also manage all bills and household accounts etc. I do that around my job. And when I’m not working, my wife goes off an… | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 02:47 PM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.Yeah agreed. My wife is trying to model herself on her mum. Except at least her mum fully kept her home. They now just spend time gossiping, looking at holidays they could never afford without a husband and deciding what to decorate next. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 02:41 PM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce. This is spot on. And a somewhat reassuring reply. I do feel an overwhelming pressure to keep up with her spending habits. I once told my wife I want to earn 100k. She said, ‘why I you don’t need you earn that’ and was very anti. 5 years on, I earn 200k and it’s still not enough as she spends every penny on things that don’t appreciate. Often without me having a say. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 09:34 AM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.Do you have any experience or points of reference? | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 09:30 AM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.💯. My female therapist told me capture all the emotional abuse my wife exposes me and my son to. She said to use it as an argument for why every roughly 6-12 months it all gets too much and I have an angry outburst (no violence towards my wife). I have had therapy twice in the past 4 years just so I can concentrate at work as my wife’s abuse got in my head and both therapists concluded that she needs to see someone asap. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 09:30 AM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.Impossible to change the mind of someone entitled. My wife is very good at bending the truth and sounding convincing until you ask follow up questions. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 09:26 AM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.Congrats on one year. So glad you’re getting more peace with your daughter. The biggest thing in looking for is peaceful quality time with my son. When it’s just me and him, we have a great time. However, she tries to cause drama for everyone around her. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 09:20 AM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce. This sounds like me (except she hasn’t cheated afaik). I used to wake up early to study so I could change career. One of the main reasons I’m divorcing her is her attitude to money and debt. And fear she’ll bankrupt us by constantly getting us in debt. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 09:17 AM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.Sounds like she is very deluded brother and that you have nothing to be jealous of. It seems to me that she’s jealous of your ability to hold down a job. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 09:14 AM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce. My wife is entitled too. Constantly thinks she’s the hardest person in the room. Despite always asking others to run around for her. I compare her to my sister who has 3 girls, was main breadwinner, but is now a single parent and does more as alone parent than my wife with one child can barely do. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 09:12 AM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.Madness. Where is this? | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 09:04 AM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.I’ll have to try to find out for the UK. This is very sad. But I can see this playing out. The complications with my situation is that my wife quit working for IVF. She refused to go back and decided to home school or son instead. Although I’ve been working from home and contributed have been around, I can’t compete with the hours she’s put into taking my son to home school things. But tbh, if it weren’t for my income she wouldn’t be able to enjoy a non working life in the first place. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 09:02 AM
Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.Haha. Brilliant. I’ll have to use that for sure. Funny thing is, she’s actually incapable of being independent. She relies on me to do so much. She would need the extra money to pay for someone to wipe her arse. This is similar to a running joke in her family about her laziness. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 08:56 AM
Does wife making more than husband contribute to relationship issues?I don't think how much your wife earns is the kernel of the problem. But probably a symptom of other issues. My wife earns nothing. But would unlikely reach my earning potential. But we still have issues around money. She wants to spend all of it and more, I want to save more. Even if she earned a little bit, it would mean we both can set aside money as 'our own money'. I think getting on the same page financially is key no matter what the income ratio is. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/12/23 09:23 AM
Sex before marriage- good or bad the second time around. My best friend told his wife need marriage, ‘if we’re not compatible sexually, then it’s not gonna work’. I had a point. I couldn’t imagine marrying without sex with them first. My family are very religious. I grew up in church. But I’m less religious. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/12/23 01:06 PM
Seeking advice contemplating divorce in the new year for the sake of my son.Sounds. Very similar. Exact words from my wife recently, ‘you make my life hell. amd you go out of yout way to do so. And then wonder why I'm pissed off all the time. you cqnt even try to be kind’ Nobody would agree I make her life hell. I pay for everything so she don’t work. I do far more than most husbands we know. And she’s constantly pissed at the world. I have however given up. And recently set some new boundaries in terms of what’s acceptable as advised by my therapist. I knew ignore her … | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/12/23 08:35 AM
Moving closer to divorce. Just can't live this way anymore.Same to you. Tbh I knew I wanted a divorce when my son was 1. The only thing stopping me leaving is the instability it'll create for my son when he's already struggling with behaviour and also I feel I need an unbreakable bond with him that will stand up against my wife's shit talking about me. (she's toxic narcissistic). We'll look back at this from happier times one day. Also regarding money, I also hear you. It sounds like retirement planning is important to you. Remember you're probably livi… | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/12/23 01:42 AM
Moving closer to divorce. Just can't live this way anymore.Sad to hear you going through this. So much of this is similar to me. Except we don't parent great together and we have 1 child (7). My wife even said, 'she'll take me to the cleaners' years ago. I can't see how the situation gets better for you. Except leaving to get a piece of mind and, eventually, finding a life companion. I think about all this so day every day what I say to my wife is, our child deserves to see what a loving relationship looks like. What it's like to see two happy parents. … | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/12/23 01:23 AM
Female Nature: Never take responsibilityMy wife (future ex) does not recognise the disproportionate impact her personality has on our marriage. She’s easily triggered and argues with everyone. When we break up, she’ll blame me for her being the way she is. When we got together she blamed her exes for the relationships not working. She blames her family for the way she is. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/01/23 10:09 AM
Wife wants divorce UK (Scotland) - advice neededSuper useful advice here. Is there any useful references I can read. I am getting my ducks in a row before requesting a divorce from my wife asap. I’m in similar (ish ) situation to OP 6 year old Recently bought a beautiful house in Sept 22. I’m Sole earner (~£150- 200k) Wife has low earning power and doesn’t want to work. She can’t buy me out or pay mortgage. My wife said she will take me to the cleaners if I divorce her and will try every nasty trick to get what she wants. - full custody - be … | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/01/23 01:06 AM
