Is the popularity of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic good or bad? There's rule 34 on everything. Suggesting that all, or even most bronies condone that shit is ridiculous. Most of us have nothing to do with it. And again, as fucked up as pony porn is, it's still closer to furry/bestiality than pedophilia. | /r/MensRights | 30/12/11 01:46 PM
Is the popularity of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic good or bad?But that's silly. Pedophiles don't like ponies. Pedophiles like children. | /r/MensRights | 29/12/11 11:50 PM
Is the popularity of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic good or bad? She, actually. _^ But yes, you have the jist of what I was saying. | /r/MensRights | 29/12/11 10:09 PM
Is the popularity of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic good or bad?haha, no, I know. I'm just saying that there really is a lot of fear among bronies, particularly teenaged bronies, that their parents and peers will react harshly. I have a friend through Facebook whose son has to be homeschooled because of the amount of bullying he received because he had a My Little Pony backpack. It's not as bad as some people might want you to believe, but have you been by ponychan lately? So many of those posts are teenage boys afraid to let their parents know. | /r/MensRights | 29/12/11 09:59 PM
Is the popularity of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic good or bad?My problem with that episode is that it's a pretty stereotypical representation of a feminist. With someone as talented as Lauren Faust, who's an actual feminist in real life, I feel like they could have addressed it more elegantly. But then, it is a kids' show, and tackling a serious subject isn't easy to do in a 15 minute show. | /r/MensRights | 29/12/11 09:55 PM
Is the popularity of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic good or bad?Ah, someone must've retracted their downvote before I saw. My bad. | /r/MensRights | 29/12/11 09:53 PM
Is the popularity of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic good or bad?I've never seen that at all. But I have been in brony chats with people who are terrified that their parents will find out that they like My Little Pony, and they have to tell all their friends not to get them any pony merchandise for Christmas in case their dad sees. | /r/MensRights | 29/12/11 09:50 PM
Is the popularity of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic good or bad?Looks like you only have one downvote, relax. | /r/MensRights | 29/12/11 09:49 PM
Is the popularity of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic good or bad?In some circles. But in others, bronies are met with absolute disgust and hatred. | /r/MensRights | 29/12/11 09:45 PM
Is the popularity of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic good or bad?Well, My Little Pony is very clearly a traditionally feminine show. The people who think 'bronies' are wrong in some way usually say it's because they like a "little girls' show" not a kid show. Adults who watch, as I said in another post, Batman TAS are not subjected to the same shock and disgust that bronies are, most likely because it's considered wrong and unnatural for men to enjoy something that is traditionally very feminine in nature. Why is it so taboo for men to enjoy something as 'gir… | /r/MensRights | 29/12/11 09:36 PM
Is the popularity of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic good or bad?One of the reasons MLP is so criticized is because it is seen as feminine and thus the male viewers are seen as wrong in some way. Why is that? | /r/MensRights | 29/12/11 09:27 PM
Is the popularity of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic good or bad?Oh look, shaming men for enjoying a girls' tv show. Would you say the same thing to men who like Batman: The Animated Series? Or are you shaming men in the same way that some people call them 'manginas' for not being 'manly' enough, because being feminine is BAD. | /r/MensRights | 29/12/11 09:14 PM

Responding to a woman tricking you into having a childseriously? In my recently-ended-on-good-terms-not-that-you-care 4 year relationship, my boyfriend ALWAYS handled his own condoms. Except the time that I won a contest for a free set of flavored condoms, but we didn't use those in PIV sexings. But seriously, he always, always handled his own. According to my dad, he handled his own up till the time he got a vastectomy. That was 15 years. Handle your own goddamn condoms. It's your responsibility. jesus what is so hard to understand about that | /r/MensRights | 19/12/11 01:57 AM
Responding to a woman tricking you into having a childNo, it's not. Because you should be responsible for your own contraception ANYWAY. First off, not every chick knows ahead of time what size you are or if you're allergic to latex. So how about instead of whining when you force someone else to be responsible for the birth control, then they fuck it up? Btw, if you're openly admitting that getting a condom out of your wallet and poking a hole in it is an unlikely situation, you're also admitting that this spermjacking bullshit is just that-- bulls… | /r/MensRights | 19/12/11 01:31 AM
Responding to a woman tricking you into having a childI don't take birth control pills because the hormones do disgusting horrible things to my body. And seriously, it's not hard to keep condoms in your pocket. Plus, even if I took birth control, I'd like to see you get the pack sealed back up after you found pink placebos. | /r/MensRights | 18/12/11 07:15 PM

| -4 | Responding to a woman tricking you into having a childSo how 'bout you quit acting like birth control is the woman's job and bring your own damn condoms, genius. edit - and I'm angry because this is a fucking ridiculous thread | /r/MensRights | 18/12/11 12:43 AM |

What would you do if you woke up tomorrow morning the opposite sex?Only one of my friends who responded was a feminist. A lot of them were people I know from high school who would actively mock me when I spoke about gender equality issues. These are not people who spend a lot of time thinking about social differences between men and women. | /r/MensRights | 11/11/11 08:51 PM
What would you do if you woke up tomorrow morning the opposite sex?No, that would be me explaining my grammar because you appeared to have some confusion about it. I made an allegation about your argument. I didn't proceed as though that allegation was correct, I just made the allegation. Please learn what 'begging the question' means, and also don't assume that if someone uses a logical fallacy that it means their point is untrue. | /r/MensRights | 11/11/11 07:44 AM

What would you do if you woke up tomorrow morning the opposite sex?Bullshit. I can't open my mouth without either being outright ignored for being a woman, usually with a sexist comment to go with it, and if I call them out on that, it's because I "can't take a joke." I couldn't even talk to customers at my last job without them asking to speak to "someone who knows more about this kind of stuff" despite the fact that I was one of the most competent and informed people on the floor; they wanted to talk to a man because LOL WOMENZ DONT KNOW ELEKTRONIKZ. | -5 | What would you do if you woke up tomorrow morning the opposite sex?I didn't know damn well, actually. I've come to this sub many times to have people tell me that women have never suffered oppression and that men have always been oppressed by women, and that men have no privilege whatsoever. I had no way of knowing if you were one of those revisionist nutters or if you were an actual MRA. Now I know. :P | /r/MensRights | 10/11/11 04:23 AM
| -8 | What would you do if you woke up tomorrow morning the opposite sex?Just because men are disadvantaged too doesn't mean that the oppression of women is a myth, or that the privilege of men is. Men ARE privileged. That doesn't mean that their life is easy or that they're not oppressed in other ways. Women ARE oppressed. That doesn't mean that they don't have privileges as well. | /r/MensRights | 10/11/11 04:16 AM |
For all the good work we do pointing out feminist hypocrisy, I think it important to acknowledge that there does seem to be a lot of misogyny on reddit. That's not true, actually. It's penetration that's the crime, but the victim is explicitly the one who does not consent, not the one doing the penetrating as you believe. | /r/MensRights | 10/11/11 03:40 AM
What would you do if you woke up tomorrow morning the opposite sex?Indeed. Though to be fair, I asked them not to talk about masturbating ;) If we were talking immediate actions rather than long-term, I'd totally have said "prostate exploration!" Cool link, I might have them answer the same question again, as the answers seem to be very interesting. | /r/MensRights | 10/11/11 03:09 AM

Perhaps they participate in other online spaces and such and can offer up some resources. _^ As for your first paragraph - That's the problem with a lot of gender issues! Lots of people misunderstand something, or take a completely different meaning away from a word than what it actually means. It's very similar to the struggles of the mental health world, where they keep having to change the names of things because they keep getting crappy connotations. | 4 | What would you do if you woke up tomorrow morning the opposite sex?I just asked this question of my facebook friends. Phrased as such: "Serious question. If you woke up tomorrow and your sex had changed overnight (you know, like The Hot Chick) what would you do? Please no joke answers like "lol i'd masturbate" I want to know what you would literally do different with your life." These were the responses: Male: "i would cry for about three days straight." That's because I'm not going to give you the names of all my friends and acquaintances. :P I don't hang out in 'feminist' spaces, I just hang out with feminists. I'm not blaming men for the system. | 3 | For all the good work we do pointing out feminist hypocrisy, I think it important to acknowledge that there does seem to be a lot of misogyny on reddit. Most feminists I've ever come across will agree that the traditionalist nature of the patriarchy is exactly what causes issues both for men and women. It's the Men = Breadwinners, Women = Homemakers mentality that causes child custody inequality for men. It's the Men = Strong, Women = Weak mentality that causes male rape cases to be brushed aside or even laughed at. | 2 | For all the good work we do pointing out feminist hypocrisy, I think it important to acknowledge that there does seem to be a lot of misogyny on reddit.Well, I don't know who the hell you're hanging around with, then. Because I'm very active in feminism, with quite a few feminist friends, and we're more active for men's rights than a bunch of the guys on this subreddit-- and I mean that. | -2 | Why the word "patriarchy" is just a bigoted slur.No offense but your lack-of-arguments and assertion that "No you're just wrong and I don't have to prove how" make you sound like a privileged white middle-class straight cis male who thinks he is oppressed because he's looked negatively on when he calls women 'cunts'. In other words, offense taken. It is more complex than that, but you apparently don't understand how it works. | /r/MensRights | 26/10/11 01:13 AM |
| -4 | Why the word "patriarchy" is just a bigoted slur. You're trying to pretend that the society we have isn't a patriarchy? | 18 | New FBI definition of rape leaves gender unspecified, but still speaks in terms of penetrationActually, the new definition doesn't specify that the one being penetrated is the victim. The last part of it clearly says that the one who is not consenting is the victim. Penetration of the vagina without consent of the victim goes both for female rape cases and for male rape cases in which a woman vaginally rapes a man. | /r/MensRights | 20/10/11 11:25 PM |
So I got in this argument about aether or not the father should be consulted when a women wants to have an abortion.....So... Lemme get this straight. You think that what a woman does with her body should be up to vote, and if two people think that she should have a child, regardless of whether she wants it, she should be forced to deliver a baby. You think that that's "fair" because the man will pay for her bills while he's forcing her to be the incubator for a child she doesn't want? | 1 | Texas legislates against paternity fraud (AVfM News)Hey, feminist here. Just wanted to let you know that, nope, we think this is just as fucking awesome as you do. | /r/MensRights | 18/09/11 04:48 PM
Remember that girl who does zombie makeup who posted a picture of her bruised face? We owe her an apology. This is a pretty good reason of why someone should be a rape activist. Because a lot of people (a disturbing number) don't even realize that they're rapists. | /r/MensRights | 13/09/11 09:36 PM
Redditor possibly posted fake pictures of bruises she allegedly suffered during a rape the day beforeI have a legitimate question for you, since you seem to take actual facts into account rather than judging people based on your own agenda, something that can't be said for most redditors. If a man posted that he'd been falsely accused of rape, would you immediately start gathering evidence? This isn't a rhetorical question, I want to know legitimately if you would. | /r/MensRights | 11/09/11 07:08 PM

"Why don't you just be a man about it!?" Trying to figure out if a man should give up his seat for a woman....Lots of people here are saying they'd give up a seat if the person was older, pregnant, or in some way crippled. I have a question to add to that. Let's say the woman in question was not crippled, but was limping from pain in the high heels she has to wear for work. Young, not pregnant, and not crippled, but still a problem that would only happen to a woman (typically, unless we're talking about Eddie Izzard here.) What would you do then? | /r/MensRights | 28/08/11 07:12 PM
"Why don't you just be a man about it!?" Trying to figure out if a man should give up his seat for a woman....Y'know what, I respect you. I would never expect anybody to give up their seat for another person, because I would always see that as my job regardless of gender, if the person needed a seat more than I did. But good for you, for sticking to it. You are a courteous and polite person, and as I said, I respect you. | /r/MensRights | 28/08/11 07:08 PM
