Hey Lonely Bobcat: The original poster gave evidence that gay men are, in fact, treated worse than lesbians and you gave no counter arguments or evidence. So apparently we DO NOT know that gay men are generally treated better than lesbians. Also, it is inexact to say the most influential root of homophobia is religion. The question is the reasoning behind religious persecution of homosexuality. I think the original poster makes an excellent case that a lot of homophobia is rooted in misandry.

I thought it very suspicious that in every article I could find on this, there were no claims that men got more sleep than women. The articles only state that women don't get enough sleep, with some of the articles blaming men. According to the bureau of labor statistics, women, on average get a little bit more sleep time than men for every age group between 15 and 64. 65 and over men get a little more sleep than women. This will have to be put in same category as women declaring physical violen…

When I was younger and more attractive I got catcalled by women regularly while I cycled (in University). Later, I used to to get catcalled by men as I walked through the gay section of town on my home after a night at the bars. I never felt threatened. Sometimes I felt amused, sometimes I felt annoyed. Nothing ever caused me to be concerned for my safety. I can see this being a problem if people are shouting threats. But for the most part, I think there is really something wrong with someone wh…

Isn't it true that, while women earn 45% of income they make 80% of spending decisions? If the unpaid labor is household management and child rearing, then men are already, in mass, giving women money and power in compensation for this. For married couples this arrangement is informal, whereas for divorced parents, it is dictated by the government. In this case, demands for compensation for unpaid labor is just demanding that the government treat all couples like they currently treat divorced co…
