This was the comment you replied to: I'll never understand how a person can hold such disdain for others who isn't harming anyone, and especially when that disdain is focused on how someone is struggling. ... the world would be better with a little less judgment and a little more patience and empathy. And this was your response: They aren’t just existing though, are they? They’re spreading misery. They’re making wild, general, and disproportionate statements about the nature of attraction and th…

They aren’t just existing though, are they? They’re spreading misery You're focusing on a vocal minority. The comment was referring to socially isolated people in general, not just people who post in these forums like this or any of the pill communities and the like. Most such people aren't toxic or dangerous or spreading that rhetoric. You're the one adding toxicity to the situation and fighting a strawman.

It felt like you were saying that even just having that as one of your goals was wrong and you're creepy for doing that. If that's not what you were saying, then just ignore me. It probably won't end well if that's your only goal. But I don't think there's anything wrong with it being one of your goals.

There's nothing wrong with choosing hobbies to meet more women. If all your hobbies are male-dominated, choosing a more mixed hobby can help you date. As long as you take a genuine interest in the hobby, having a goal of meeting women in the hobby isn't wrong.

WHy are you not using modern statistics? Men swipe on 50% of profiles on average. Women swipe on 1-2% on average (and still get drowned in matches, because men aren't picky). Women are way, way, way pickier. Idk how you can even refute that.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 11:41 PM

Starting to sound like an ideal male world there would probably be countless orphans roaming the streets that perverted men (there are a lot) would molest and abuse. And other men would just shrug and say that’s life 🤷‍♂️ If the father doesn't want the child and she can't support the child on her own, then it's entirely 100% the woman's fault for not having an abortion or not giving the baby away for adoption. That's the whole point. She's the reason the child has to suffer through that in your …

Why do men feel so bad when women don’t find them attractive? Women find most men disgusting to meh, so to women attention from them is like attention from a feces-ridden donkey. Most men have a deep desire for relationships and to be loved by a woman. Men desperately want to give and receive love from women, but don't receive any attention from them back. This is bound to be depressing when you value something so much. The reason women don't value it is mostly evolutionary reasons and that wome…

But men have higher success rates even if they choose the same method. Among the events captured, men chose high-risk methods like hanging significantly more often than women (φ = − 0.27; p < 0.001). However, except for drowning, case fatalities were higher for males than for females within each method. This was most apparent in “hanging” (men 83.5%, women 55.3%; φ = − 0.28; p < 0.001) and “poisoning by drugs” (men 7.2%, women 3.4%; φ = − 0.09; p < 0.001). https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/a…

Most dating apps are 80-90% men and on top of that, women only swipe right on about 1-2% of profiles (and still get drowned in matches) while men swipe on about 50% and get nada. If you're getting consistent matches as a man on OLD, you're almost by definition not an average man and well above that.

While personality can always be improved no matter how old you are (with effort of course) We can only make minor nudges. Anything major usually doesn't pan out. It's like weight loss interventions. 90% of people aren't able to adhere to a diet that results in weight loss. Of those people who did lose some weight, 90% regain that weight in the next 5 years. Everyone knows the secret to weight loss is "eat less than you burn", but very few have the right temperament to follow it long term. Person…

No, that's a different stat. The 63% of men being single while only ~30% of women were was from the latest Pew survey. Different from the sexless stat, which was from 2016 I believe.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/23 05:42 PM

I was born in this body, I didn’t work for it, it was just luck and it doesn't say anything about me. The same is largely true of personality though. It is a popular belief that personality, behavior or mental health can be meaningfully improved or fixed. Actual results from interventions are less promising. Personality is very stable accross the lifetime and mental health problems are highly resistant to treatment. I don't see how falling for personality (which is largely fixed) is any differen…

Yeah I agree - become hot or hide your desperation. I think being desperate would be a turn-off in ugly men and it's something they have to control for sure. Just disagree that it's a problem for all men universally.

No, I'm not. I'm talking specifically about a guy who had a habit of approaching literally every single woman in our group at any bar or party we went to. He just wanted a girlfriend. Some women still went out with him. No idea if the relationships lasted long-term but he didn't have much of a problem getting dates at least. It's not a must-have for good-looking men at all.

Not true for money at least. The more desperate I got, the harder I worked and money increased almost exponentially. When I didn't give a shit about it, I got lazy and stagnated in my career. Money didn't just come out of nowhere. Probably true for the other two things though.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/09/23 02:33 PM

You're massively exaggerating how many men say that. Men also say they want to cuddle with someone, spend all night talking to someone they care about, want to build a future with someone by their side, be someone's partner in crime throughout life, etc. You're selectively filtering what you hear and exaggerating the worst offenders to justify your preconceived beliefs. You're just hearing the message you want to hear. Far easier to dismiss their struggles if you barely seem them as humans anywa…

It's not a must-have lmao. Maybe a nice-to-have at best. Many, many desperate men have success. I've even seen deseration being an attractive trait (at least in the beginning) if the woman *wants* their attention beforehand. A must-have for ugly men, maybe.

The way you treat male sexuality is absolutely disgusting and dehumanizing. You need to learn to view men as humans.

The only way your claim is true is if all the women are swiping on a (mostly) different 1-2% of men. I find that very unlikely since women find so few men physically attractive and their preferences aren't that drastically different from each other (on dating apps at least). But true I don't have data to show that. Neither do you have any to show that every man gets messages. With the data we do have, your claim seems extremely doubtful to me.

Not really possible when women only swipe on like 2% of the profiles and it's usually the same type of men. So I'm pretty sure there's a significant amount of men on these apps who never receive a single message from a non-bot/OF account.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/08/23 08:39 AM

All online dating apps are 90+% men. It's impossible for every guy to succeed. And that's not even counting that women are 100x more picky than men. Men swipe on ~50% of the profiles while women swipe on less than 2% on average. The situation is extremely lopsided in the woman's favor. The only reason a shy woman is single is due to her own choice. Not the same as shy men.

That's because the stats he posted don't tell the whole story. Men have higher success rates than women because they actually want to die. Women use it as a cry for help. In countries without access to firearms, men still have higher success. Even if you control for the method (eg: strangulation), men have a higher success rate than women. All that tells us is that women don't actually want to die. They primarily use it for attention or to bring focus to their problems. Not for actually wanting …

Absolutely false. Men have a higher suicide rate in pretty much all but 2-3 countries. Even countries where firearms are heavily regulated (see Japan). Also doesn't explain the fact that men have higher success rates than women even if you control for the method. Men are more successful during strangulation attempts or poisoning attempts than women, for example. Men view it as a last resort. Women tend to use suicide as a cry for help rather than actually trying to off themselves permanently.

Fine, I'll concede that I was probably wrong about the FA women sub and probably got it mixed up with the situation on FA dating. But it still agrees with my broader point that even older, fatter, uglier women don't experience real loneliness since they do tend to get plenty of genuine interest if they look for it. But those women are far more picky and refuse to date unattractive men regardless.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/23 02:40 AM
1

Why do they ignore the hundreds of nice DMs they receive then? I remember some dude larping as a FA woman on r/ForeverAloneDating and while there were some rude/disgusting messages, I recall most of the messages they received to be pretty benign, if not a tad boring. They have tons of non-degenerate men who want to date them. Women just aren't attracted to those men, even FA women, unfortunately.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/23 02:29 AM

That was only a minority of the men's comments there. I have witnessed several FA men who have sent perfectly benign and nice messages to FA women and the women pretty much never respond. But they only focus on the 1 out of the hundred messages that's a dick pic or a mean message. I acknowledge that those women unfortunately do sometimes face some harassment in these messages. But I've seen actual evidence that most of these women ignore actually decent messages so hard to have any real sympathy…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/23 01:54 AM

Older, fatter, and uglier women can get infinite attention from older, fatter, and uglier men. Those men largely get ignored though. Look at r/ForeverAloneWomen for example which has a similar demographic. They banned men from commenting since there were too many men asking them out. It's impossible for 99.9% of women to have zero success with men. The pig-woman experiment also shows similar results. They just have to exist and some man out there will be interested. Not the same for low-tier men…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/23 12:45 AM

Then why do good-looking evil misogynistic men tend to have far more success with women than weak, ugly good men?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/23 12:15 AM
1

The difference is that those women can still easily find a willing partner if they wanted to. Just tell them to make a post on r/ForeverAloneDating or one of the r4r subs and any woman is guaranteed to get 1000s of DMs. Even after filtering out the creeps and hookup messages, there'll be plenty of genuine offers remaining. Some men are forever alone by choice like you said. But pretty much 100% of FA women are FA by choice. It's not hard to find love as a FA woman at all so kinda hard to accept …

Are you interested in a girl who's just out for any dick she can find? Better than nothing. As an undesirable man, that would be heaven for me actually.

According to the Cabinet Office's 2022 gender report, 25.4% of women in their 30s and 26.5% of men in the same age group say they do not want to get married. Matches perfectly with the number of dateless women. That means about ~75% women do wish to get married. Going against your claim that most women are avoiding any hopes of dating. Unfortunately many men who want marriage can't even secure a date. Women don't seem to be facing this problem predictably.

Eh, that claim needs to be substantiated. Another user here posted a survey showing more Japanese women than men were interested in marriage. Your claim seems a bit dubious to me without any further evidence...

That's old Pew data. Recent Pew survey says 63% of young men are single now (compared to 34% of young women). The situation seems to be getting worse for men. https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/02/08/for-valentines-day-5-facts-about-single-americans/ft_2023-02-08_facts-single-americans_01/
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/23 10:03 PM

Most women there are virgins too and have chosen to not date. This was part of your comment above though. At least the second part of your claim is wrong. Far more men are dateless there compared to women currently. Would be interesting to see updates to the virginity though.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/23 09:56 PM

Those are 2016 stats. These are the most recent ones. https://www.insider.com/japanese-men-20s-never-gone-on-date-4-in-10-2022-6#:~:text=A%20staggering%2040%25%20of%20Japanese,related%20to%20marriage%20and%20income. Four in 10 Japanese men in their 20s surveyed by the Japanese government say they've never dated. Comparatively, only 25% of the women in their 20s said they had never dated. Far more women than men date.

If she did less of those things she would probably be less attractive If she did less of those things, she would be less attractive but still likely attractive enough to be in a relationship with someone. She could probably put in 90% less effort and still easily find men willing to date her. So it feels weird that you keep bringing it up when you're not even addressing the point of the OP.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/23 01:07 AM

Again, not the question. It's not all or nothing. The options aren't - being an ogre or spending hours every day maintaining a beauty routine. You said she puts in so many hours to make herself attractive. How about if she reduced that and put in much less time and just took care of the basics? So for example, if she just does a quick cleanser-moisturizer-sunscreen routine for her skin (instead of her usual 30-product routine), doesn't become fat (instead of exercising every day), and maybe shav…

That wasn't the question. Would you still be attracted to her enough to be in a relationship with her if she didn't do every single one of those things you listed? Not *as attracted*, that's a different question and you know it.
