I taught my foster boys that its all hitting. Any legitimate reason you have to hit a man is also a legitimate reason to hit a woman. I made it very clear that there were very limited legitimate reasons to hit a person though.

In addition to the other comments i would add that in tennis coaching is disallowed to prevent wealthy opponents buying advantage against less wealthy opponents.
