1	How to tell the difference between flirting and being friendly? Rather than laying it right out you can get a feel for it by working it theoretically into a conversation. When you say something like "say, if it was you and me instead of those two, we'd be way hotter/much better at chess/an unstoppable crime-solving team", she'll probably recognize it for the cue it is. 3	Advice for the partially deaf? If you go to a bar or club and you don't mind the smoke, hang out with the smokers. They're usually outside where things are quieter, and in my experience, more receptive to conversation. I've made a lot of unlikely friends because we had seven minutes or so alone to get a basic conversation rolling.
