Feminism has historically been very vocal about seeing more women in male-dominated industries, a large number of those industries will be filled by working class men. So I do think they have pushed for representation in that regard.

It doesn’t detract from the subject matter, so don’t worry about it my friend!

These are some great points, and just to be clear, I by no means want or have any intentions to shift towards the right, I’m a fairly left guy, always have been, I just meant that I can see how people are being driven to more right-leaning groups with how they’re being treated. I myself though am left, and likely always will be unless the values I hold as a person suddenly shift, which is a possibility of course, though I feel a slim one!

Thank you for all of this, especially the Overton Window, I hadn’t heard of this before and it’s interesting to say the least. And as for time off, I’m just bidding my time until my weekly D&D session, that helps a lot. Have a good weekend!

This is really great advice, thank you :) Especially having strict personal principles. This I feel is key even moreso these days. I left Twitter ages ago, I honestly never saw the attraction! Still don’t :’) though I do hear it has gotten incredibly vitriolic as of late.

This is an interesting point that I hadn’t considered, it is true that it’s unlikely to be found in actual verbal conversation, but I worry that by it being normalised in conversation online that this will ‘spill over’ into an everyday norm in the future. As we have seen, all it takes is a very vocal minority of people and things can really take off, but maybe I’m being too critical perhaps, but it is a concern (however silly it may seem to some) I have with the current climate. Edit: wording

Yes, completely, but you know what, I don’t blame them in the slightest for falling in with The Right. They’re only naturally gravitating towards communities where they feel they are respected and their voices heard. I just wish the people instigating a lot of this hate and discrimination would see the harm this is doing to progressivism. We can’t move forward as a society by chastising a subset of that society based on something they have no control over. Edit:typo

Yeah, I agree. The coverage is being picked up all over the shop with the papers, which is why I’m starting to get so worried. Not to mention my mental health is absolutely shot right now as a result of seeing all of this slowly gain traction.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
