Got a link to read further into this?

I got my bachelors degree in ‘14 and because of some poor advising on the schools behalf I was ineligible for the programs I wanted so I decided to test the waters AKA fuck off for a while. There are plenty of ways to make money, but I realized I was not happy being average and at 29 I’ll be paying private school tuition to make a master program work; I’ll be finishing as a 34yo. Clearly it’s not ideal, but like many have said here, neither is staying put or regressing. Make calculated risks.

I agree, but I also think it’s a combination of both of these thoughts.

Like I mentioned previously, thankfully I understood the value of having that frame. My emotional one was particularly well built, so I’m quite alright. It’s what brought me here, no doubt, but what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Life is all about choice of perception: I know so many people that would have let this ruin them. “I found the one, she was supposed to be it, and she abandoned me. I’ll never find someone like that again.” OR you say “I have a new lease on life, I’m thankful for …

If you haven’t read the “light switch effect” in the side bar, do so. It enlightened me quite a bit how females are able to just turn things off without reason. Mine had the daddy issues, and I was weary of them from the jump. I looked for all the typical signs from my previous LTR and none of them arose. She was so good at suppressing them and acting like everything was ok. It was truly a blindside hit when she ended it lol. My family, my friends, her family, her brother that lived with us, eve…

Therapy is always good. The problem is, you may never end up knowing what her true line of thinking is. If she grew up without trust, her thinking is “how can I trust you?” It becomes a game that she entails to protect herself first and the lies become a staple. My LTR begged for a ring since year one. Reassured me she loved me, promised to the hills and back. I want a family with you, everything is perfect, then agreed that she understood all my rhetoric about frame work and all that. A week af…

That has been one thing I have taken from all of this. Women don’t need to know how it happens, just be reassured that it will. The understanding behind it is only there to be misunderstood. Less talking, not doing. The funny thing is, they pride themselves on being communicators and blame men for being inadequate in that category. The minute a discrepancy had been identified between us, and I tried describing a logical basis of understanding and living vs her emotional one, she silently rejecte…

She then looked for validation in doing so and found tons of writings about codependency and narcissism. The confirmation bias set in and there was no turning back. Based on our last talk, it would appear that she realizes that she was wrong, albeit too proud to openly admit, and that her codependency could have been solved while being with me. But the moment that I bro bf up any advice at all, you can see the hesitancy in her system and the shut down in her responses. Very, very weak frame who …

Certainly. Happy to answer any questions. I am planning on writing my story on TRP once things have concluded, but as things stand I’m still experimenting and conversing with her. Long story short, she was not “coach able” and because of some hidden issues from her childhood, she rejected the notion of the “daddy mode” and insisted that she should have her own frame, to which I applauded and desired for her. Problem was that she thought it could revolve around that one pillar of emotion. When I …

I experienced this with my ex LTR turned fiancé. As a psychology major, with years and years of therapy under my belt, my emotional frame is quite strong. We had gotten to a point where that “daddy mode” you speak of became the entire relationship. Her frame was so weak all around that she jumped into mine whenever possible. At some point along the way, she began to realize this and in turn, tried to build her frame up. The problem was, is that instead of using those three pillars, she focused o…

This is one thousand percent true. My mother came home and complained about anything and everything. Nothing was every her fault, always had an excuse for whatever was currently an issue. Guess who grew up doing the same shit. Guess who learned the hard way after 28 years. It doesn’t matter as long as you take ownership and take action. Some will never learn and that is the saddest part.
