If you can, you should. Go be yourself. Do what you want to do.

It’s great that you have a good support network to lean on. Here’s to a better future!

Congrats!!! Mine happened about a week ago. It was mostly amicable. I’m on the same mission to redo my space, no kids, but I do have a doggo (couldn’t have gotten through this without her). She already made me buy a couch…lol.

This pretty well sums up where I’m at right now. Enjoying my time to myself, but still would be nice to have someone around as well. Conflicting thoughts.

Well I guess we all blame someone, ourselves, or I guess a supernatural deity for what has befallen us. To each his own.

Completely relatable. Started boxing up things of hers today as she has left it behind for me to handle. So here I sit at almost 2 in the morning running the emotional gamut. Questioning why I wasn’t good enough all the way to the other end of the spectrum where I’m so pissed I just want to put it out in the back yard and set fire to all of it. After today I’m quickly starting to very much understand the getting rid of everything and starting over fresh no matter the cost.

In my experience there is no way to get the two in sync. The only way to move forward and do what you need to do for yourself is use the logical side. Separate the emotions from the decisions. If you keep the emotions in the decision making process you will talk yourself out of doing what needs to be done. I went through the same thing and talked myself out of doing what needed to be done for far too long and ultimately became a doormat and was used for whatever her current flavor of the moment …

Run….This is so over the top. It will only get worse and ultimately ask yourself if alienating your family for her is worth it.

I get it. Sorry about the snark. We all have a lot going on. And I wish you the best in your battles. Texas is definitely tough place for doing this. I’m Texas as well.

🤣🤣Not a woman, 42 male actually. Didn’t realize my politeness to the community would set off anyone’s insecurities. Must have missed the part in the community rules where I have to check my manners at the door.

I’m sorry you have to go through this. I feel fortunate that my circumstances will make things a bit smoother, however there are some unknowns on the horizon that need to play out.

I feel that analogy. I feel like I was used and feel like all those years were wasted for nothing.

This is so helpful. I’m in the same situation. Being used as a doormat (I continue to allow it to happen). Trying to find the courage to file.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
