Women with short-term sentences, six months or less, shouldn't be in prison. In that time you're not going to achieve any meaningful change or real engagement with rehabilitation. So it doesn't serve a purposeful function for society or for women I know it's a BBC article but holy shit Rehabilitation is just one part of a sentence. It must also consider deterrence, incapacitation, and punishment The idea that an offender must be coddled is at odds with how the justice system treats victims who g…

My kids quite happily play in my backyard, where I can supervise them. Shocking I know.

I kinda knew some of the parents I think it's less of a gender thing and more of a stranger thing. I'd do exactly the same with if I saw some 25 yo woman I didn't know playing with my own young kids. Then again, for the same reason, I just wouldn't let my kids play on the street in the first place. As someone who didn't really have friends in childhood and am struggling a lot with social stimulation Make friends your own age? See a psychologist if you have trouble with this?

That last one is Gold. Afghanistan's own people consider it at best a federation/collection of tribes, let alone a unified country worth dying for.

systemic issues This touches on sociological/macro theories of crime, but environmental (crime triangle) and psychological/individual theories also matter.

While not to defend Heard, Depp chose to date someone decades younger than himself, and on some level he had to anticipate/consider the relationship ending with her seeking an asset split (at minimum). I speculate it starting as a fun intimate relationship based on mutual benefits, and that as it developed Depp got into way too deep/fell too hard for.

You will never be a woman The irony of being on the DSM it's in your interest to learn about gender theory.

FtM get quite the culture shock when people don't pay them attention, but MtF can't lose what they never had - people still won't want to fuck them.

Whatever gender that person identifies as, an unrelated third party forcing a second party to use certain words is next level serious white knighting.

If you consider sentencing outcome statistics, being a mother is a mitigating factor. In justice this is known as chivalry theory. See https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/0093854814560624

It refers to the particular traits a society places value on. For example, what do you place lower value on - a mid 40's mother or a mid 40's career focused but childless women? If you picked the childless woman, then congratulations you agree with most worldwide institutions.

This is the truth. They both could have deesculated, and both deserve to be charged. The Downvoters are people incapable of objectivity.

I've studied it extensively in criminology. There are different types of paedophilia, and not every paedophile is sexually excited by a child (the definition of a child varies heaps too). Old school testing for this is actually hilarious bad, they'd flash pictures of children of various age groups, mixed with regular naked women, and they'd have an erection measuring sleeve along with vitals signs like pulse and breath count, all to determine if they were excited by a naked child. The main group…

Nothing funny about family violence. They both had a chance to deescalate, and both deserve to be charged, not to mention a cross civil IVO.

The irony is studying this topic is only useful for arguing on the internet, so you'd think people would get it right. For the aspiring gender study graduate subway employees: In some gay couples (and in edgy straight people), they refer to the submissive male partner as 'the female' (DOI: 10.1177/0886260514532527). This is an example of homosexual masculinity, while itself subordinate to hegemonic masculinity, being placed above hegemonic femininity. Note that this doesn't make the domineering …

Homosexuality in men isn't a feminine concept at all. It could be argued there's nothing more masculine than the sexual conquest of another man. It's actually a type of subordinate masculinity. Let me use my degree's obligatory unit of irrelevance to explain: Ever hear the phrase of saying something negative or something you don't like is gay? People don't say that necessarily because that thing is feminine, but simply because it's bad and they don't like it for whatever reason. In calling it ga…
