We've all been there at some point. No need to kick a man when he's down, especially one who is able to keep some perspective.

Considering Burr's relationship with his wife, I take his relationship advice with a very small grain of salt.

Pretty cool analysis. To add to your point about how well he prepares for fights, here is a video of him practicing the exact punch/situation for the Aldo fight

Maybe she is a recent alpha-widow and is in the anger phase towards all men.

Pretty interesting points OP. I'm reminded of a conversation I just had with a female co-worker today. I definitely just yapped too much. Will give 'zooming out' a try. Sounds about right.

Which are generally reflective of the situations we find ourselves in. Some of those situations are out of our control, yes, but most of them are not. Or, they are reflective of over-contemplation about the past/future... the majority of which we ultimately have control over.

I get the vibe you don't lift and feel the need to justify fucking hookers. No need to sugarcoat things my friend.

I actually remember me saying "Why can't you let yourself be weak? I've shown you my weaknesses." If there is anything to be learned from a man who makes that statement, is that there is somehow hope for the bluest of pill to be salvaged. (It obviously didn't work out, and was one of the many ways I sabotaged the relationship and myself. Thank god I had the balls the snap out of it all and end it shortly thereafter and find this sub.)

When you lift heavy enough, it just happens. That said, there are definitely varying kinds of 'grunts', some of which are purely attention-seeking.

Christ. Scary how much this sounds like my last relationship. I ended the engagement once I realized how deep in the devaluation stage I was. Never again.

Appreciate the reply, man. Me breaking up was more of a reactionary, reached-the-breaking-point kind of decision. It happened so fast and so suddenly I still couldn't wrap my head around the 'how' and 'why' of everything. Yours was one of the first posts I read that really helped me understand what the dynamic of my relationship was/was becoming. It was rough, but time and TRP has helped put things in perspective. My 29th birthday is next month and I'm preparing for a new beginning.

A relationship is an ongoing negotiation. Strong men with submissive wives and girlfriends often get tricked into thinking that the extreme nurturing and submissive nature from their partner is a 'lifelong' pledge. It's not. It's really the female saying 'you get this from me until the day you stop being my top tier alpha man and that could be later today..." This is contract that every women covertly signs with you. I called off my engagement last week having broken this contract. The more I lo…
