I guess I am afraid of “failing” at something like sex which is unfortunately much more of a blow to ego. Will the AM help with taking pressure off the situation? Had an ex tell a bunch of people I had a super small dick freshman year of HS when it was just a half chub through shorts lmao. Dumb situation but it honestly stuck with me subconsciously, despite comments from later girlfriends.

A little too much denial in hindsight. As I know i shouldn’t be having these thoughts, while a beautiful naked woman is underneath begging for me, self-berating kicks in and gives the thought more weight.

I actively try to feel sensations, focus on breath, etc. and sometimes it certainly works, other times it reinforces the fact that something is “wrong” or off. Still a work in progress through meditation and mindfulness.

Have you ever experienced performance anxiety or psychological ED with plates and how would you recommend building back the confidence to get out of my head and slay like i used to?

I found PPL 4 Days a week to be better than 6 days personally, Push and Legs on Monday with Pull and Legs on Friday, resting Wednesday and the weekends. I find it easier to progress intensity wise with the added recovery days.

Cut first. You say you already have 20-25 lbs to lose, you don’t want to spend the next several months bulking up and adding additional fat. Cut first with intermittent fasting, start bulking at your goal BF%, then cut again once you reach the top end of BF% from the bulk, etc. Stay within a range. Also don’t use BMI as a indicator for healthy weight, it doesn’t take any muscle/fat into account.

Set to failure just means the last rep was either missed or, depending on who you ask, the last rep was the last you could safely complete with correct form. Personally I don’t go for true muscle failure, where you try for one more rep and can’t get it. I push to the point where I barely squeak the last rep and there’s no possible way I’m even attempting another rep. To answer your question, track the weights on your lifts so you know “where” your failure is. Find a weight you will ONLY be able …

Reverse pyramid training is amazing for both strength and size gains. Set of failure 4-6 reps, drop the weight 10 to 30 pounds depending on what lift, then another set to failure 7-9 reps, repeat for 10-12 reps. I personally only do 2 sets of each exercise RPT because it’s really taxing on CNS to go to failure every set. Muscle failure causes the biggest stimulus to trigger hypertrophy. Your body, evolutionarily speaking, knows that big weight on your back when squatting would have crushed and k…
