I worked on a film once where we were told they never cast ugly people because it's easier to "make a pretty person ugly than an ugly person attractive." And that always stuck with me.

Whoa...what is the first person trying to say? Some women get to be raped so all women aren't raped? So men are rapists and we're all just okay with it? What the absolute fuck?

Yeah, the whole "man dreading going home to be nagged by wife and children" trope always seemed so ridiculous. Why have a family if you'd rather be at the bar with your buddies?

I grew up in the 80s, so basically all pop culture? Rape jokes normalized. Glamorizing of age gap relationships. Victim blaming being the standard. I was into my 30s before I realized a lot of things I loved as a kid were FUCKED UP.

I had a friend who told me she'd never been harassed by men because she "wasn't pretty enough." Yet the stories she'd share about the bullshit she put up with from her husband and other men in her family would make my jaw drop. Who can identify misogyny from strangers when it's literally coming from inside your own house?

I posted something similar when #metoo was picking up steam and the amount of WOMEN who showed up to comment how "nothing like that had ever happened to them" because they were so good and virtuous or whatever was truly disheartening. Some told me how everyone is "too sensitive" and it's ruining things for all women in the workplace. All I could think to respond with was, "hope you get picked." I don't even know what to do when I'm confronted with that attitude from other women. Try to reason wi…

I really don't get this. Straight women want to date straight men. Why is that bad? About the statistics, is it possible that gay/bi men are more likely to actually GET tested than straight men? For some reason that wouldn't surprise me and would skew the numbers, yes? But either way, women have the right to choose who they sleep with...just like men do. Are they this upset about gay men who don't want to fuck bi men? Or is it just women being blasted?

My husband I are childfree by choice and also want a bigger house. I work from home and need the space. He does some work for me and wants his own dedicated space for it. Plus, we want to have non-work related areas. You should hear the judgey shit people say. "Oh, you don't have kids? Shouldn't you want to down size? Maybe you should look for an apartment." God I love everything about this! I grew up being constantly shamed for being overweight. I still struggle with weight and body image issues. I am in awe of younger women today who give no fucks and wear whatever they want. Two-piece bathing suit? Fuck yeah! There are a million options for that now and curvy girls rocking the hell out of them. I love to see it! This. I cringe every time I see someone suggest get a concealed carry permit. As if that is the be-all-end-all to keeping ourselves safe. It reeks of privilege and other gross stuff I can't put my finger on. Not everyone can afford a handgun or be approved for cc. And yeah, since we're discovering an awfully large percentage of cops are white supremacists, telling black women to arm themselves seems almost dangerous...? I honestly had this thought today. It feels like we're backsliding in the US. I realize it has never been great. My eyes have been opened a lot in the last year to how much racism is literally baked into every aspect of our society. But since 2016, things feel so much worse. People seem to feel empowered to be as hurtful and openly racist as possible. From idiotic stuff like crying over pancake syrup, to the truly horrific of trying to excuse what Chauvin did when we all saw it clear as day. It …

A guy I knew from elementary school friended me on Facebook. Life has...not been kind to him, shall we say. A couple kids by different women, jobless (supposedly on disability), living in a shack, but somehow has a new live-in girlfriend within weeks of his last baby mamma dropping him. He tried messaging me with the, "oh you're so pretty you look just like you did when we were kids" bit. 🙄

My husband has to do this with one of his employees. The guy is forty and needs to be told to clean up after himself in the bathroom. My husband always says he feels so bad for the guy's wife because he's such a slob and she has to clean up after him.

OMG, so glad she hasnt reached out to him. Hope she dumps him for good. He's trash. This reminded me, when my husband I started dating I had one quirky cat who hated everyone she met. She wasn't even all that fond of me. She hated to be picked up. Would let you pet her but ended up biting your fingers. My husband meets her, next thing you know this cat's curled up in his arms purring away, letting him pet her and drooling all over him. Little hussy. 😆 He bent over backwards to make my cats happy…

I will be honest, sleepy, wake up in the middle of the night can be great. It's also great that if I mumble "knock it off" my husband knocks it off and goes back to sleep. If he tried coming on me anyway, woke me up to give him head, or just shoving it in like it sounds this guy does, I would be livid, not questioning if I'm "too difficult."

Also wanted to add, I can understand why some "sex workers" are going to die on this hill. Imagine the shame and degradation they have endured. Having to admit it was all for nothing or that you were taken advantage or worse that your actions contributed to the abuse of minors and other women. That is an avalanche of guilt and a bitter pill to swallow. I can understand why they feel compelled to argue in favor of their "chosen career."

Environmental areas like water and wastewater quality. They are very male-dominated fields but they are going to be very in-demand jobs as a large portion of the workforce retires. No one ever thinks about it but everyone needs clean water and sewage. Usually, only a high school diploma is required but a 2 year degree can help you level-up quickly. (This is specific to the USA, I don't know about other countries.)

I have complicated thoughts on this myself so I hope I'm not going to be blasted but here it is. I have known too many women who are comfortable with "othering" women they perceive as "loose" "promiscuous" "whores" or whatever. As in whatever bad stuff happens to them is their own fault. A kind of villainizing the prostitute instead of the husband who visits the prostitute if you will. I absolutely can not stand this attitude. It is not supporting women in any way. In fact, it is just going alon…

Based on his stated age (27) and length of previous relationship (13 years) at a minimum he would have been 13 or 14 when he started dating prior girlfriend. So...she would've been more than a girlfriend but probably a big part of his childhood and growing up. It's really probably too soon for him to be with someone else. Let alone proposing. And I don't blame the girlfriend who doesn't want to come in 2nd to a ghost either. Deleting the videos was cruel and immature, though. God help whoever do…

It's weird that he's already engaged if he's still mourning. But also, the woman is dead. It sounds like she was a family friend he grew up with that later became his girlfriend. His fiance' seems to lack basic empathy and is letting her jealousy over a dead woman cloud her judgment. They really aren't compatible and should just move on. I think to achieve the type of wealth you mention, you have to have a high level of sociopathy and narcissism. Neither trait is conducive to high value people. Extreme wealth breeds sociopaths. OMG, what did I just read? Why is she still with this childish asshole? He humiliated her in front of their friends? And she doesn't know if she should be mad??? Girl, RUN! He's shown you who he is. An immature pos.

It must be EXHAUSTING to put up with this nonsense. How does she have any energy left to function. What value is this man adding to her life? What purpose does he serve?

I worried about all that useless stuff (designer purses and shoes) in my 20s and I really wish I hadn't. Unless that stuff genuinely makes you happy, it's a waste of money and just collects dust.

I don't mean this in a cruel way, but it sounds like she dodged a bullet in a way. Divorce his ass now. Run! He's shown you that when it comes to his mommy, he has no spine and that he doesn't value your life. Run the fuck away and dont look back!

Whenever I have packed lunch for my husband, he always texts me at lunch time to tell me how good it is and how much he appreciates it. I'll do it when he's having a rough time at work or working a lot of OT. I did it more often when we were broke to save money. He literally does dishes and almost all the cleaning around here, so packing a lunch to make his morning easier is the simplest thing I can do. And if I thought he didn't appreciate it or was throwing it away, I wouldn't do it. Good Lord…

I've actually known two women like this. One was in a relationship with someone who would provide those things under certain conditions to keep her "safe" (not go trolling for any old rando to beat her.) The other was married to someone who was not into those kinks at all, so she was frequently looking for "play" partners to whip, spank, or whatever her. You can imagine the kind of creeps she found. Both, as far as I know, had severe trauma in their background. The first one seemed content and e…

I had the flu once. I was sick, couldn't get out of bed for two weeks. She stopped by to yell at me because she was lonely and wanted someone to make her dinner. Didn't offer to help me out or anything. Just complained, said I must be exaggerating and. . .left because she didn't want to "catch something." Definitely the last person I'd want near me when giving birth.

I watched a show (Slasher season 2) that was premised on punishing the girl the boyfriend cheated with. It was completely bewildering and drove me nuts everytime it was brought up.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/12/20 05:25 PM

My mother was a raging narcissist who would've made it all about her, so no, I couldn't imagine wanting her near me during something so stressful. But for those of you with loving, selfless mothers, yes, I can see the appeal.

Feel bad for his wife and children. Why have so many kids if you have "nothing in common" with their mother? He just sounds like stupid scum. The kind who gives all "Christians" a bad name.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/12/20 06:38 PM
118

So he knocked her up at 18 and her dad was cool with that and is his "friend?" This woman didn't stand a chance, the bar was set so low. Honestly, I hate the materialism surrounding Christmas and the expectation that people should dig themselves into debt to "give their kids a good Christmas" but it doesn't sound like he's trying to teach any values here, just that he's lazy.

Just...how is a video-game addicted manchild even worth the headache? She was EVICTED. That doesn't happen overnight. So it's not a "one time mistake" as he claims. It's a pattern of behavior over time. Just...WTF? How is this even a question!?

Points for honesty?? But seriously, I wish more women would see this and take it seriously. Men who think this way seem to be the rule, not the exception. No matter how smart, attractive, and capable a woman is, she will never change a man who thinks this way. They shouldn't even waste time trying.

Dear God, why!?!? Makes me so thankful for my husband. He worked most of yesterday. He came home to find me struggling to get the damn turkey in the over and took over. Finished all the cooking, did the dishes, then thanked me for a lovely dinner. (We usually go to his siter's and we're both bummed we couldn't this year.) If I had to deal with this lady's bullshit, I would have launched HIM off the balcony.

I hated Ted and the ending of the show absolutely ruined it so that I could never stand watching it again. Your analysis absolutely NAILED all those niggling feelings I had but couldn't quite put my finger on.
