Yes, seriously. Let's disseminate this. "I'd like to go on a date with you", " would you go on a date with me? ", " i'd like to take you on a date"... Whatever variation of this that makes it clear that it is a date! I hang out with my brother, I mack on my date!

You should be super proud of yourself for wanting to improve. However, if you're analyzing every interaction you're not spending cognitive resources on being in the moment and actually observing and learning what makes people tick. So, if you find that some of your analyses actually yield valuable information, then by all means grab those as heuristics to help you navigate social situations. But, if they don't, then let those thoughts go and listen to people, try to think about what kind of emot…

There are different types of AD/HD: inattentive, hyperactive, and combined. You don't have to be hyper to have AD/HD. And I don't think he's making excuses, he's saying that given his and other people's difficulties it would nee nice if people have advice other than "suck it up!"

Right, but systematic desensitization requires that the client (patient) come up with a hierarchy of fears starting with the least anxiety provoking and ending with the most anxiety provoking. It is up to the client to determine where to start. That's what he's been saying all along "the advice you guys are giving me are at the top of the anxiety ladder."

I know some people get all upset when pharmacology is suggested, but small doses of SSRIs can do wonders to reduce anxiety while you're training yourself to be more sociable through systematic desensitization (which is essentially what the "good advice" you received is.)
