Like, voice recognized in 911 call, shot by police and recognized visually by police officers on the scene with guns next to him -level of confirmed.

Antipsychotics have other properties and are used often in illnesses like depression or bipolar disorder. Also many have sedative effect, so they may be used as a sleeping aid in very small doses. Source: bipolar 2 without psychotic episodes, was on Seroquel. That said, I oppose using psych meds on children. I was on tricyclic depression meds in junior high school (or something like that, it's hard to find a direct equivalent word for yläaste). It was done because I was depressed and had sleepin…

Figures. I don't really know US dress codes so well, just that every army usually has some type of rain gear. In Finland we simply get soaked by the rain when in garrison/holiday dress, at least the same applies for both sexes. Dumb, I know, but as the saying goes, soldiers aren't made of sugar, so they can take some rain without complaining.

In the army, for real? There is dedicated rain gear just for that purpose, where the hell do umbrellas fit in that picture? :D

This can in no way go wrong. Everyone's hygiene is always perfect and we can just swap clothes around. Everyone is also the exact same size as their pair. Also, lice don't exist in elementary schools and there are no lice epidemics which require parents to wash the whole family with medical shampoo.

I'm kind of proud of the younger generation (25 myself, so those being teens right now). Whereas we often hear from some completely idiotic things they do, also many of them have become more critical to mass movements and old habits in general compared to previous generations. Smoking is going down all the time, youngsters seem more tolerant towards sexual and racial minorities, less are identifying with a one-sided ideology. There has to be a connection between this and digitalization. Or cours…

I don't know enough about legal advice in your country, but I know something about mental health. Simple advice: no drugs. Get professional help. Psychologist, psychiatrist, something. If this has been going on for long enough, it's natural that the continuously stressed mind may start a depressive episode, even if you weren't genetically prone to it from the beginning. Seriously. Don't kill yourself, don't start taking stuff, get help. For the other things, I'm sure there are people in this sub…

Welcome to Finland, we have a fairly good man/woman ratio. Depends a bit on the school though. Haven't heard of any crazy complaints.

In the sane part of the world. Don't expose him/her/them/xer/trör to the insanity that is Tumblr, leavingforgood may be one of the few human-kin who still have hope and not a single headmate.

I prefer "batshit crazy", as mental illnesses outside Tumblr could use some public image boost. Tumblrinas mainly self-diagnose things that sound "cool" such as autism, social anxiety and depression. The ones who go deeper end up with something like "schizophrenic borderline depressed autist with OCD, panic attacks and 3 headmates". They rarely actually have anything wrong expect fucked up beliefs. Those who do, don't get the treatment they should because the hive mind is against treating these …

This is simply incorrect. There are idiots and smart people in women just as there are in men. Let's not go the way of radfem.

I'm not going to touch anything else there as your post is almost feminist copypasta. But: or be conscious of the stumblingly drunk woman being escorted from the bar/party by a man she's never met. Does this mean that there should be a dude always ready at the door making sure everyone knows each other when leaving? I kind of get the argument if it's a small party and people should see it, but you simply can't argue that other men are responsible if someone escorts a woman out of a bar. Hell, he…

I answer as concisely as possible, but teachers hate that. And that is pretty fucked up. In my experience doing things through shortcuts is an important skill for working in a professional enviroment. Less wasted resources.

What about Tomb Raider? Didn't you get the memo? Lara is a strong womyn and that means the game is already ok. Adding a male option would be patriarchal oppression.

UK generally likes its gun free society, and doesn't want police to have guns (police dont want them either). That is something I can't understand. Here in Finland our police carries guns, but things are still under control. Every police shooting is investigated so taking the firearm out of the holster is very rare. Still, it's there when they need them. Sometimes the minutes matter, and if the first responders can't do anything, someone could die. They actually have tactical gear and submachine…

I'm pro-choice because I believe that's best for the child. The fate of abandoned (or abused if the mother hates the decision and therefore the child too) is a bad one. We have enough overpopulation on this planet already; if you bring a child to the world, do it properly or don't do it at all. This stance manages to avoid the whole foetus debate. Edit: cknight18 below kinda got me, the argument isn't as solid as I thought it would be. My opinion on the matter comes from the fact that it's what …

EU Human Rights Court could actually make a difference, they are fairly no-bullshit on these issues. I don't think anyone in Finland can do something about this in the current political ("hush hush" type) climate.

And some people's brains aren't fully developed even in their 50s. Actually, the brains never develop with these people, it's just baby -> teen -> late teen -> teenie-like "grown up" -> middle life crisis teen -> old teen. Explains all the not-so-functioning adults.

I agree that the woman in this case went overboard. I however need to say this in her defence: atleast where I live, asking for a cigarette is sometimes a classic way to come closer for mugging. Same for asking what time it is; the target's attention is directed elsewhere for a short amount of time.

This wouldn't work out here in Finland. The employer would have to pay extra for the night and evening hours. It's required by law.
