The point about lobsters is stupid if you believe it implies anything serious or concrete about humans. You don't need to read anything else or expand on your understanding of biology or anthropology to think seriously comparing people to crustaceans is stupid. I suppose if you want to call it fable of sorts, you can. Comparing people and animals is useful as a myth, fable, morality play, etc. But a metaphor is not useful in academia or science, just as pop culture fluff.
