Need a good cryI just went to bed and didn't eat for a couple of days until my body had burned-off all the negative energy. Good luck whatever you do. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/08/26 12:28 PM
How do dads manage when they work all week and watch children all weekend? It doesn't sound great for you to have them every weekend as you might get burnout and the ex will miss out on quality weekend days out with them. I actually look forward to the 2 days every 2 weeks when I don't have to work or look after kids as it's a chance to catch up on tasks and relax. If you are going to start dating again you might also need weekend time. I tend to go swimming every Monday night and do the weekly shopping on Tuesday nights. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/07/26 06:40 PM
How do dads manage when they work all week and watch children all weekend? No, never heard that before. It seems to work fine for us. We try and use the school for handovers so I might drop them off and their mother might collect. During school holidays we drop the 5225 and agree a custom pattern of days with handovers in the morning and regular hours at work. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/07/26 06:08 PM
How do dads manage when they work all week and watch children all weekend?I'm a 50/50 co-parenting dad and do the 5225 schedule with me getting the kids every Weds+Thurs night and half of the Fri+Sat+Sun nights and it works really well. Their mother gets every Mon+Tues night and half of the Fri+Sat+Sun nights We both have understanding employers who allow us to do extra hours (early/late) at the times we don't have the kids to allow us to be a bit late in and leave early when we do have the kids to get our full time hours in. We also both take payroll deductions to bu… | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/07/26 05:47 PM
Am I The Odd Divorced Dad?I guess calling would work when they are old and independent enough but for a lot of posters expressing these feelings their kids are small, sometimes really small and our ex's reasonably aren't going to want their time with the kids interrupted by the other parent phoning whenever they get lonely | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/07/26 11:38 PM
I'm currently laying on my 10 year old sons empty bed crying like I would if I had lost him foreverThere's not much worse than being home alone after the kids have been picked up. I try and avoid it where possible as it's too much of a pace change from the house being busy to quiet. It's unnatural and reminds me of how my family didn't turn out as I hoped. The kids don't like being transported between houses either as they get all settled in one only to be uprooted to go to the other. We have a rota where we tend to do our handovers at school where for example I drop off in the morning and my… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/07/26 08:16 AM
What to do with her ring?I sold my wedding ring and spent it on a holiday with the kids. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/07/26 08:24 AM
How do I get over the thought of another man with my kids?I actually feel sorry for my ex's new partner as my kids say she shouts at him a lot. He's been through a similar divorce and is also co-parenting his child 50/50 so we get on ok although we will never be friends. He wasn't the one that I found out she was cheating on me with so I am pretty sure they met after the divorce so I guess that's fair game. Whenever the thought of what my ex is doing in her own life enters my brain I just think "not my problem anymore" and it goes away again. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/07/26 07:37 PM
| -1 | Did the right thing against my selfish desires and feel like crap. One of my best friends is female and we've been doing the right thing for over 20 years. We've never been single at the same time. We've agreed that if we are ever single concurrently we'd like to see what happens but in the meantime it's been quite frustrating for both of us at different times. We were both at each other's weddings and have even lived and been on holiday together where there have sometimes been justifiable opportunities to get changed / strip down in each other's presence. We'v… | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/07/26 05:29 PM |
