Honestly, no. This is unique to me, I'm sure, but I found taking something with little to no effect makes me want something with a stronger effect. That caused this bad escalation .

I so very much agree. I've done a bunch of A/B testing on my performance trying all the nootropics, including the more crazy ones, looking for an edge. NOTHING has improved my performance more Monday - Friday than not drinking on Saturday. And I'm talking 2 or 3 drinks with dinner. My brain doesnt spin as fast the first three days of the week if I have more than two drinks. It takes at least two drinks to feel an effect. And the only point in drinking is to feel the effect. Conclusion is simply …

I disagree. People like me are exactly who need to be on TRP.

This is an interesting idea. I'd be curious to see how she hamsters that.

WTF?? Seriously? I'm fairly certain both of my parents get a SS check?

That exact thought is early on in my thought process whenever I think of it. The mere act of questioning supplies the answer.

The problem is this is a question with answers on the extreme. The blue world says 'yes of course, this girl is amazing, marry her" and the red world completely rejects marriage. For me, I suppose it comes down to liking LTRs and seeing utility in having them last an extended amount of time. And people in here actually support that concept. It's the binding to the state that's at issue ultimately.

Lots of hamstering when we discuss the 'why'. She claims to want the rite of passage (which I actually understand) with the celebration (obviously) and the changing of her last name. I also think it's parent pressure and watching 'Say Yes to the Dress' for five years. The rite of passage of course can be addressed in other ways.

Agreed. Sometimes this concept is discussed with a subtext of female malice which is not present, at least not in this case. Perhaps malice comes from conscious thought and it's all semantics. But it's worth knowing.

You're right. The motivation here is to avoid loss, not to gain something. I'm not aware of there being anything gained in marriage. A tax break?

I think she wants a wedding. When she talks about it, it's framed as a her thing, not an us thing. Which is rare for her, in everything else it's about us, or me. But she's always known I don't care about, or for, weddings. So she knows it is about her.

Hah that's a very fair point.

I'm a firm believer in traditional gender roles. I'm on the fence about marriage. From an evolutionary biology perspective it doesn't make sense. It's a fairly short lived social control experiment. I understand fundamentalist TRP. I suppose it all comes down to ones definition of fairy tale vs real reality.

Those aren't issues for me. I could get by in my industry being single (and there are a lot of hot women in my industry where I have a shit ton of social proof).

The passion thing is true. I've dated girls where I was incredibly passionate about the relationship. Translated that probably means I 'loved' her more than she did me. That's a bad power dynamic. Having the girl love you more is important, and I have that here. But because of it, I may just really like her a lot. Love is a weird chemical state regardless, but I never had that crazy infatuation period with her. The Saturday night comment hit me. For what it stands for. Weekends, special occasion…

Some good points here. I (think) I've swayed her into not wanting kids. Enough so that she's told her parents that. Then again, step one is a dog. Marriage has benefits in both career and life and I think those are often downplayed here. Having a girl to bring home for the holidays, go on vacations with, take to company functions, etc. But no, her family would have no impact on my career. There'd be some house downpayment help but that only sort of matters to me.

The West exports entertainment. One would insert an idea in western media to propagate it worldwide

Actually, to give further credence to OPs point, Musk didn't start Tesla or Solar City. The founder of Tesla in particular has cried about Musk stealing the credit.

I'd highly suggest the app DayOne. It's password protected (although I find myself holding back on some thoughts since it's cloud synced and even if it wasn't who knows...) and syncs across all devices. I journal for about 10 minutes at night after meditation. Been doing it since 2006. It's amazing to look back on the early entries. It's easy to lose sight of your evolution in the day-to-day but to go back nearly a decade... I was a different man. Do it. Start now. Actually, start yesterday.

She met him online while her marriage was 'falling apart'. Soooo she was still married when she got with the secret agent? Amazing.

Insecure men. Waitress-cum-strippers encouraging you to spend more. An environment that expects this behavior.

But they'll have their swimwear and jewelry lines that everyone says are amazing!! Oh, people only said they were amazing because they looked hot? And people will suddenly not care at the same time they lose their bottle service job? No way, that won't happen to them!

Good point. I have a bunch of friends who haven't done much since law school. And the document review gig is about to be up since AI can do it a lot better, faster and cheaper.

This is where RP loses power. Lots of wowisme in here. If you aren't making 6 figures that's a problem you need to fix. Frankly I DO want a nice house with a yard. It's a much better experience than an apartment.

This was pretty incredible. Right off the bat, when he comments on Chestys tits, Brie touches her tits and starts begging for attention and dominates the conversation. She shit tests him with putting the mic down her shirt and asks him to get it. She invites him to touch her boobs earlier too. He doesn't. You could tell he wasnt sure what to do here. I'm not either. His style interests me. I do that TV Host style a lot, which is generally to my determent since there is no camera. Makes me thnk I…
