My dad is still married after 40+ years and in his 60s now. He’s still working a job that’s literally killing him because moms dream house isn’t paid off yet. But at least he gets to listen to her nag or insult him on a constant basis. But hey, at least he never divorced! Me? I quit working at 41 with enough money to probably last me my life. I looked into this before. Unless you have kids the tax benefits are mediocre at best, and a penelty if both make good money. Also, i quit my job and went on aca insurance and pay like $6/month.. which is far less then what i paid at my “good job”. It’s definitely something he should look into
