this was my thought. Everyone would be guaranteed an equal partner. A lot of people now can't get equal partners.

Numerous guys on this forum (RP guys) have said women are less intelligent and less logical than men, and some have said less morally conscious as well. One guy in particular said he was in the 99th percentile of intelligence, I asked him how he knew and he said he attributed most of it to the fact that he was a man (yeah, not sure about the math there).

I'm not even a member of TBP and I never go there. I've seen guys, who are affiliated with TRP, say this on PPD.

Oh I'm not defending it. I can't stand him. I guess I just don't take anything he says seriously. But I'm not even RP so I'm probably the wrong person to even be answering.

I agree with what girls would rather be, although most would never admit it to themselves. My only hope is that they grow out of it in time for adulthood but i know many who don't.

More unrealistic female standards I think. Women wanting men who can "take care of them" when they are actually in a monetary position to provide for most men.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/14 10:57 PM

Neither or both. It's hard to say because you'll find disagreements even within TRP. The belief that women are morally and socially inferior in every possible way is old-fashioned, I suppose, but I've been told that many people on TRP don't believe that. The apparent need for constant casual sex with gorgeous women is definitely not old-fashioned, considering that criteria for ideal husbands/wives used to prioritize looks way less even 50 years ago and the glorification of promiscuity is a recen…

Yes, I firmly believe it. The single guys I know, many of whom are actually pretty decent "catches" even according to RP standards, have sex a few times a year. All the couples I know who are close enough with me to mention sex, have sex multiple times per week. I don't know any older couples, but I know some older single men and they don't have much sex either, and when they do it's with women around their age. But my experiences obviously aren't statistical. Check out this: http://www.scienceo…

What I notice is that even men who aren't rich tell themself it makes a huge difference because they believe they can always get rich. I've also heard the "being nice will get me laid" thing. A guy once told me that if a man has a high IQ he can get "anyone."
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/14 09:02 PM

Yeah I know. That's why I don't get the obsession with casual sex. even a relatively sexually successful single guy has less sex than a man with a girlfriend.

Wow, crazy. What were those guys like? Were they decent-looking and reasonably normal guys, or full-on shut-in neckbeards?

hm. I guess I don't see why anyone would derive pleasure from having sex 5x a year with 5 different people than 100x a year with one person. But that's just me. lol

That's true, but it's not like men are even open to 100% of girls that age. What abotu the ones who aren't an 8/10+? Many average-looking men disdain the idea of dating an average-looking woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/14 08:35 PM

Pretty much, there are guys who think all you need to be is smart to turn women on. Men believe what they want to believe for their own convenience, and many women tell themselves similar rationalizations to avoid changing "for a man."

I was being sarcastic of course but TRP does have high standards for women in regards to age and looks. Not condemning it, just saying it's the truth.

Ok, well you can't say a woman completely ignoring a man who likes her is the same as a man having sex with a woman who likes him. Come on. How does that add up, logically? Plate spinning and beta orbiters are two totally different things, unless the beta orbiters are being used for something.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/14 07:56 PM

Oh, interesting. I didn't see that. I think going by "how much sex" is confusing because does that mean number of partners or actual frequency of sex? Because a total loser/uggo who marries a woman who looks like Mama June but has a WILD sex drive could wind up having tons and tons of sex. idk.

Well, Heartiste is, to me at least, a reverse Jezebel writer, but of all the crap on his site I'm surprised you chose this to be offended by. I guess if you look at it a certain way, it "makes light" of child porn, but that's only because his quiz is overly simplistic and you generally don't score more than 1 or less than -1 on any question. The female quiz, unsurprisingly, is more nuanced.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/14 07:18 PM

Well, in that case, since pretty much everyone has had sex AND gets married it's not really measurable in either direction. Even "beta bux" have sexual intercourse.

1.) No, I wouldn't prefer a world with these agreements necessarily because I think everyone would get complacent and give up, but I'm not sure if it's better than the current world we live in. Those things were already on the list, considering the rules were for both genders, I just didn't make them super clear because the question was aimed at men (they're outlined in the paragraph section at the top, in regards to adultery and monogamy). 2.) Definitely not...TBP just disapproves of TRP. If we're defining SJWs as self-righteous, self-interested and self-victimizing people who co-opt social movements to get attention (see: "I now identify as demiboi with a side order of genderbinky!") then no. TBP can be a little idealistic and ignorant at times (depending on the person) but the same is true of many people on TRP. I tend to agree/disagree with both at equal rates. If you want real SJW material, just go to Tumblr In Action.

If this claim is unfalsifiable so is the other 80/20 rule. It's a theory, it might not be fact but it's just what I've casually observed. Are you interested in committing to more than 20% of women?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/14 07:03 PM

Depending. Christian Gray is a good example- he's a billionaire, high-status, AND good looking, interesting, "sexy" etc. So him being a billionaire adds to the sexiness. Yes, I know he's not real but he was just the one example I could think of. Then, consider Hugh Hefner. His "girlfriends" are basically his employees. They provide somethig for him in exchange for money. At this point in his life I doubt anyone is actually turned on by him, but it's a transaction. If it works for them that's gre…

This. Sugar babies aren't usually literally aroused by their "clients" or whatever, it's just a means to an end.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/14 06:58 PM

Not at all, but I also don't think women are as aroused by money as TRP believes. Moreso than men, but there are quite a few women who care way more about personality/looks than money.

Hm, this is one thing I don't quite understand. From what I can gather you are saying that all most men really want is to be with a woman who is the same level of attractiveness as them and even THAT is hard. Are you only referring to casual sex? Because otherwise I disagree. If women are 50% of the population, they are only in short demand if you want a one-night stand as many of us don't want that with anyone. When it comes to marriage, most people get married or date someone seriously and usu…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/14 06:56 PM

I think the idea is that women only actively want the top 20% of men but settle for the other 80% of men as a second choice. I guess that's kind of true but men do the same thing with women, considering less than 20% of the female populatoin is between 16-25, and that's the only worthwhile ago for any woman according to TRP (otherwise your only purpose is to maybe be a cleaning lady for their house or something).
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/14 06:53 PM

I think it's somewhat true, maybe not to that extent, but I think it's equally true in the other direction, except instead of sex it's commitment. Obviously more than 20% of women get married but obviously more than 20% of men have sex. The difference is that most men really only want the top 20% of women (or 30% or whatver, I don't know if it's an exact number). Considering red pillers won't deign to ask out a woman who is over 20 (no matter how old they are- men peak literally after they die a…

Because the question was aimed at red pill men? lol But yes, all of those things would apply too. Although I'm not sure what you mean by beta orbiters, it isn't really a woman's fault if tons of guys like her who she doesn't like. Are you referring to women who purposefully keep them around?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/14 06:30 PM

Not saying you have to. Just pointing out the fact that red pillers would prefer to pay thousands for prostitutes than stay married to someone their own age.

It's not super futuristic, it's basically just the earlier part of the twentieth century but with equal standards for men/women, no adultery tolerance. Yes, dead bedrooms would still occur. Good point. As for finding a partner, there would be some who had an easier time than others, but because "playing the field" wasn't tolerated, you wouldn't find many people who were in their 30s and not fnding anyone. I think you just believe men are ugly because you're a straight man! I think tons of men are good-looking. Sometimes when I'm thinking about PPD, I'll walk down the street and try to see what percentage of men in my age range I consider good looking (to see if it's the 80-20 rule) and I'd say that I find less than half of…

I half agree with you. I think premarital sex was always a thing (you'll notice my "world" in question does include premarital sex, just a limited amount of it) but I think that for a pretty long time, monogamy was the norm and at this point it's not always the norm. I wish it were the norm, but I'm not sure how I'd go about policing everyone. The truth is, if monogamy were the norm tons of people would be disappointed with who they got to marry. The 80-20 rule, IMO, kind of goes both ways excep…

That's true, actually, but I think women aren't quite as freaked out by high partner counts as men are. Or, if they're freaked out, it's bcause they're logically examining how the man will behave down the line, but it's not a fundamental sexual reaction the way it is for men.

I'm even less objective about him because I think he's the best looking person ever, given that I'm in love with him. (this brings up another thing- looks are mostly important in the early stages. they get drastically less important after you're an item). But why does either of our appearance matter in the scope of what I'm saying? I was asked for advice, and the advice for attracting women isn't different depending on how attractive the woman giving it is. If I'm a 7, is my advice any different…

I'm going to change my answer to this.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/14 08:49 PM
1

I don't feel like I'll ever be able to answer that objectively. Above average, but by how much I don't know. By objective strangers I seem to lie somewhere in between 6.5-9. But obviously that's a big range. There are certain men who'd consider me very attractive and others who would consider me nothing special; both have happened in real life. I have certain attributes/features that are pretty polarizing.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/14 08:41 PM
2

lol yes you can answer. And you're right, plenty of problems would arise from this too. Although I wonder if RP people would prefer those issues to the ones we currently have. For one, there would be no 'incels'. I should also add that while monogamy would be mandatory (or at least strongly encouraged), having kids wouldn't be. So you could be married w/o reproducing. That said, I suppose in this world voluntary celibacy would be OK too. Just not polyamory.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/14 08:04 PM

Good question about denying sex. I suppose that could be considered emotional/sexual abuse in some way or another (depending on how much it's denied, and for what reason).

I honestly believe that if you don't prioritize looks with women (as it seems like you don't) you're a bit of an outlier. Most men do. I guess that makes dating a little easier for you. But honestly, even most men on TRP advocate women do care about looks. So it's not like a rulebook that all men have but women don't know about. Even men think women care about looks, hence the importance placed on self-improvement and lifting. What's stopping me from saying "Since you don't date men, you don't a…

So you don't think there is any biological imperative for men to prefer smooth skin and smaller waists, or any biological imperative for women to prefer men who are taller/stronger than them? That's almost anti-RP! But I'm intrigued.

In some ways and not others. I think too often modern feminism focuses on trivial and pointless issues. The only thing that bothers me about women's current position in society is male sexual entitlement tha leads to violence and sexual assault. The only problem is that modern feminism has taken this very serious issue and decided to relate every darn thing to it: "Men like thin women? That's rape culture! Men don't like high waisted shorts? Rape culture. You find women sexy before hearing about…

TRP has a lot to offer and obviously it has helped you do better with women. As for your partner count, I actually consider a low partner count a good thing for men. A high partner count freaked me out when I was single. I'd suggest just not telling anyone you're a virgin. They don't need to know. Where I depart from TRP is the whole anti-monogamy, never-trust-a-woman thing. If you want a family someday, forget that whole aspect of it. Yes, marriage is risky for many reasons but so is avoiding c…

How does that prove anything? I'm not trying to be snarky, but you obviously prefer women who look a certain way, so how is it so unbelievable that women do too? There are biological imperatives for physical preferences on both sides.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/14 07:25 PM
1

Yeah, I think the major model with my society is that nobody would have much of an incentive to be attractive. I agree that paternity fraud and adultery are already frowned upon, but apparently not enouh for TRP to feel safe marrying a woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/14 07:24 PM

True, see Tumblr feminism about how men who like long hair are agents of the Evil Patriarchy and there is no biological basis for any male preference. Or you can go over to several women-centered subs on Reddit, ask a question about "what men like" and get ready for some hilarious Internet dogpiling. Men and women have physical preferences that are semi-biological and objective, this is like such a basic theory lol

Ah, my bad, sorry it took so long to reply. I wouldn't say you or anyone needs to look like Brad Pitt from Fight Club. It's the ideal, but so are a bunch of female models who most women will never look like. My personal experience is that a guy who is taller than me and not chubby or fat is good, muscle is a great add-on but not mandatory. Depending on your height and face, yeah, you could be an 8. But it's not really that important unless you NEED to be with an 8 girl. If you want to date a gir…

I don't know how anyone can reasonably deny it. Look at the men who women consider attractive. With a few middle-aged exceptions, they're between 20-40, in good shape, nice faces. And who do you see hot women married to, 90% of the time? lol

Okay, then I know you probably say you don't like obese women but I see plenty of them with skinny boyfriends so any man who doesn't like obese women is probably just saying that. Confidence matters! (ie: the whole philosophy of HAES, with no basis in reality) You can't really create your own rules and then brand them as gospel. Every guy I've ever dated was physically attractive enough. Maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of the women I know, to varying degrees (ie: some are materialistic but not manipulative, others are the reverse, as well as other combinations of good/bad features, etc) Well firstly, most women I know have partner counts that are pretty modest. I only know a handful of women who have slept with tons of guys (tons being 20-30) and a significant amount of women whose partner count is around 10 (but they're usually at least late 20s in age, so that said, it's not that weird) and …

That's a good point. I suppose not much would make anyone have any incentive to look good for their partner other than their love for their partner, wanting to feel good about themselves, and wanting to be healthy (if we're talking fitness). But on the bright side, you could act like yourself and not try particularly hard, and you have no worries about your wife leaving you.

99% of the time, no. In my opinion it should only be counted as such if one person is way more sober than the other, and the drunk person is so incapacitated that his/her ability to consent is on par with the ability of a person who is on date rape drugs (basically passed out, half-asleep, disoriented, etc). If two drunk college kids are making out at a party, then go home and have sex and one of them feels horrible the next day, that's more like regret. Because in that situation, what if they b…

I'm not opposed to the wall or the idea of it (Then again I'm not blue). I know I'll look worse in my 30s than I do now. It's one reason I chose to focus on marriage and monogamy in college instead of screwing around or "finding myself" I think the problem is that it leads to some serious misnomers: Women go from pretty attractive to totally hideous in a matter of months The only women marrying are under 22 or some crazy "fact" like that Any woman who is single at 30 should be viewed as a pariah…

I think the confusion here is that obviously a 40 year old man looks better than a 70 year old man, and obviously a 70 year old man looks better than a 100 year old man. The rare outliers of celebrities who still look great at 70 (and have almost definitely gotten surgery for it) is usually referenced in these conversations but IMO is pretty irrelevant. I think it's the same thing and it's fine either way. If your movement attracts tons of extremist weirdos, it's best to figure out why instead of denouncing them as "not real ___s". http://www.nbcnews.com/id/19374216/ns/health-sexual_health/t/new-survey-tells-how-much-sex-were-having/#.VItTcyvF-So I assume you'll doubt it though becaus the women are probably under-counting their partners, but since men are over-counting most likely (and they wind up with 7 mean) then women are probably around 7 too. If there were only 10 women and 10 men in the world, and the average male partner count was 5, that would also be the average female partner count, assuming heterosexuality.

Well status matters more for women than for men, it just doesn't negate a lack of physical attraction. For me I guess what determines physical attraction is my husband. Fit, taller than me, facial hair. Fitness is a big one for me, way more so than height.

no but I'm pretty crazy, not gonna lie, I'd probably just resort to yelling. My husband has known I'm crazy for a while now, it's not like he's without flaws, so be it. At least I'm faithful and pamper him.

that's a pretty fair list. Although in regards to mental health, I feel like those with diagnosed minor issues are more likely to be aware of them and treating them than people who are too proud to get anythg diagnosed, and therefore let their disorders run free. I've seen this myself. lol

I have a low-ish sexual partner count and high sex drive w/husband so it's possible, but a lot of guys would probably still consider me a prude because there are a lot of things I just won't do. I don't tolerate any hint of infidelity and threesomes are out of the question.

I've often struggled with the taking away of women's agency to further the rape culture narrative. Rape is a huge problem in our culture but often discussions about it tend toward treating women like children. As a woman I often find this offensive. Although of course other women consider my view offensive- I once said it's dumb for any person of either gender to get wasted while alone at a bar, and the first assumption is "Oh so you think rape victims deserve it?" even though I explicitly said …

No, I think this is a silly question/idea with all due respect. As much as I disagree with some major facets of TRP, I think it represents society's denial of biology, denial of how sexuality works, and a bunch of bogus dating advice that has been handed out to both genders for way too long.

I'm not a RP man (PP woman) but I think the idea that so many women are secretly going out and fucking alphas like crazy is a serious misnomer. Most women don't even have 10 sexual partners. Most women don't sleep around. Most woman have had just a few partners before getting married. So I don't get where this stereotype comes from. Probably because RP seems focused primarily on bedding the top 1% of women who are in high demand...and if they were in such high demand, what would they do? Save th…

It's because being tall isn't considered equally attractive across genders. Tall men are more in demand among all women, but men don't really care as much about women's height. Same with the partner count thing. It's only hypocrisy if the quality you lack and desire is something that is considered attractive in both genders.

/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/14 01:06 AM

The two examples you mentioned are limiting and perhaps unrealistic but not hypocritical. Because a man with a higher partner count isn't considered unattractive, and neither is a woman with a low partner count. So basically, that's a man with a positive attribute seeking a woman with a positive attribute. An example of hypocrisy is a woman who weighs 300 lb, gets mad at thin guys for not dating her, but then only wants to date thin guys and rejects fat guys, not realizing that by refusing to da…

I think a lot of this depends on the girl in quesiton. If the girl in question is a 9, it won't really matter what other qualities you have (unless she's a gold digger and just wants a rich dude) because she's already being pursued by other men who are good looking and funny, smart, rich etc. But if the girl is like, just a normal pretty girl (idk, 6-7?), then yes your personality goes a really long way. I haven't looked through every response, but has anyone mentioned physical appearance? I don't know what you look like so I'm not saying anything bad about you in particular, but I think men downplay how important looks are to women. A woman who is very attractive most likely isn't going to be attracted to a man 2+ points below her on the 1-10 scale (which is more objective than people think). But the good news is that even less attractive people get married and fall in love, just usually with o…

Why would a man expect a woman to have military honor unless she was in the military though? If we're defining honor as "faithfulness" or "integrity" then yeah I could see being disappointed that your mate doesn't have those attributes, but I think plenty of women do. At least to different extents. idk, I personally have low faith for human nature in general.

Look, I don't post on RPW but when I've seen women there posting, I've literally seen prominent members remark on women being inferior in a multitude of ways. They're free to do what they want and that's fine, I just don't agree. I do agree that if you're cheated on, there's a chance you had something to do with it. Yeah, that's a reasonable female equivalent hence why it's usually the ain thing feminists talk about. And that actually happens more often than paternity fraud (again, not to diminish how bad either thing is- they're both horrible). My thinking something is rare doesn't equal my thinking it's NBD. Being mauled by a bear is rare but I would still feel horrible for anyone who endured that.

I don't doubt that victims of paternity fraud are in horrible situations, I have a lot of sympathy for them. I just don't think it's A.) that common or that B.) there's no female equivalent.

If a man leaves me for his mistress when I'm 40, I'm looking at being single forever, dying earlier, probably winding up with depression and maybe even killing myself due to the loneliness. It's also way more common than paternity fraud, although I guess you could argue it's not quite as bad. Isn't name-calling and nastiness against the rules here? Just a friendly reminder. My beliefs are that regular sex makes a man less likely to cheat, but that at the end of the day, if a man who is sexually satisfied gets a good cheating opportunity, there's a good chance he'd still take it. To be fair, I think there is an equal amount of women who can have wonderful husbands and still cheat "because they can." So this isn't an issue of man-hating. The studies I linked to suport that having regul…

I don't really understand any of these responses. I already said man-haters were real feminists. I think if non-man-hating feminists don't want to be associated with man-hating feminists, then they need to take ownership of them and not write them off as "not the real feminists."

The contradictions within TRP are often hashed out on this sub, so I'm sure you've seen some of them highlighted before. Usually when they come up, the No True Scotsman argument begins, with "If a guy thinks that he's not a real red piller" which is a little too convenient. That's like me saying that man-haters aren't real feminists. They are real feminists, and feminists need to own that as part of their ideology (or at least a bastardized version of it) But anyway, a few that I can think of: C…

Yeah, I'm talking about explicitly agreed-upon commitment, not "just seeing someone." I'm actually talking about marriage for the most part. Men probably do sacrifice themselves in the ways you detailed more than women do. But men are also more likely to be violent criminals, so perhaps one could argue men are just less avoidant when it comes to violence and conflict than women are- which could be good or bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/14 12:32 AM

Ha, I hope not. It's easy to think otherwise with the stuff I read/see/hear on a daily basis, but I suppose there are just as many bitter women as bitter men.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/14 12:30 AM
10

Less likely, but it doesn't rule it out. I'm sure regular sex has a beneficial effect but I don't think that lack of sex accounts for all affairs. Plus, a man can have regular sex at home but still be sexually dissatisfied because he craves variety. And if my links are so pathetic (how?) I'm not sure why you'd quote them.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/14 12:30 AM

Yep, I've heard that argument too. I tend to disagree with many feminists anyway, despite being a woman, so I'm not saying I necessarily agree or disagree with either of these points. I will admit that there are some glaring contradictions in feminist arguments, but the same can be said about TRP.

Okay, first off, if a study disproves something you believe, it's kind of absurd to say "well the people taking the survey were lying" but NOT to think people were lying in surveys that support your own point. I believe it's true that if a woman winds up pregnant and doesn't know who the father is, and she's married, she's probably not going to tell anyone. I agree with that. My point is that most women would take measures to prevent getting pregnant if they were having an affair. Heck, I'm not …

If men are lying to appear more promiscuous than they actually are (or lying about different things in general), how is that less dishonest? A lie is a lie. Ok, as for your assertion that many women (I assume you mean "most") are perfectly content to have sex without condoms, that's personal experience. That's a good point. I guess when you frame honor that way, then her thesis supports it (assuming she's even correct, which is a big "if", lol). But even then, if women are more careful about not wanting to hurt people, wouldn't that support the idea that women are less likely to cheat or harm men than men are to cheat or harm women? And I'm mosly tackling the TRP assertion that women have no moral code- maybe they do, but it's based on the feelings of others. Which case, women aren't really hon…

The thing you linked to also pointed out that men exaggerate their partner count. Plus, lying about partner count doesn't = more dishonest overall. You know very well that doesn't work. No matter how much sex a man is getting at home, it won't satisfy his need for younger women, better-looking women and "sexual variety".
/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/14 11:54 PM
1

If this is really something you believe, then that's great. I guess I just know guys who say this, but their actions never match it, and then they wonder why none of their relationships last. Kind of like the telltale story of the woman continually "going for assholes" because they're hot, but claiming to want a guy who treats them well when it's obvious they never prioritized that. But of course, you'll find women who don't do that so it's safe that you can also find men who don't do that.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/14 11:53 PM
11

I'm not sure if you saw this survey that I added later: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2713862/Men-lie-women-study-reveals.html ETA: How is honor and doing the right thing socialized as a masculine trait? Again, that's not commonly accepted fact. In fact some feminists would argue women are socialized with more moral obligations than men who are given the "boys will be boys" excuse.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/14 11:52 PM
13

That survey doesn't prove women are more dishonest than men, just that they're very dishonest. To be clear, I think both genders are very dishonest. All the questions were posed to women so there was no way of comparing them with men. Many of the questions wouldn't even be answerable by men. If you asked a group of men "Would you tell your wife about sleeping with a perfect 10 woman once, if you knew she'd never find out?" do you really think any of them would fess up? Also, this: http://www.dai…

How is it safe to assume that? I'm going from Wikipedia, whch I thought was pretty reliable, but if you have a concrete figure from an equally reputable source I'd like to see that. We can't just deny stats because we're "pretty sure" it's untrue because of our personal experiences and beliefs. Also, as for your second point, I would venture that most women who have affairs would deliberately try to avoid getting pregnant at all specifically for this reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/14 11:48 PM

Yes, women are cheating at nearly equal rates with men. This, however, doesn't translate to "women have no honor and are morally inferior beings than men." Link to the paternity study? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paternity_fraud#United_States Most victims of paternity fraud are unmarried young people, not devoted husbands. If you stay out of third-world countries the risk drops a lot. In the UK, the prevalence of paternity fraud appeared to be only 0.2%, but OF THAT 0.2%, a great proportion of …

This doesn't really hold up. Plenty of the reasons women gave for cheating were pretty damning, so I think it's safe to say they're being honest. Also, where's the evidence that women are more dishonest? For example, sexual partner count surveys tend to have women with fewer partners than men (which mathematically makes no sense) but how do we know the women are the ones lying, and not the men? Any stats to support women being more dishonest? That's not common knowledge.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/14 11:41 PM

If you're hot enough men won't even notice or care about your personality. And most men will prioritize looks above all else, so if he's choosing between 2 girls, one who's lovely but only so-so and the other who is a bitch but really hot, he'll choose the hot one. One is just simple regret: a woman can fully consent to casual sex, but feel horrible after and then start claiming "retroactive rape" of sorts (I've seen this defended on Tumblr). hmm idk. I always saw it as equal, but I guess agree to disagree since there's no way of proving either opinion factually. I see as many good looking guys as I do girls, but it's also good to note that girls can wear makeup and heels and such, whereas men don't have many options in that area.

This is true of me. As a child I was really precocious with school and did just as well as math as I did in other subjects. But by the time I was 8 or so, I just wasn't that interested in math. I love writing, reading, anything with words. Now I suck at math. It was almost like my brain poured so much energy into the subjects I loved that math had to suffer. It doesn't mean I was destined to be inferior in math though, just that I kind of chose to suck at it.

I agree with the waiting. I was raised quite secular and felt pressured to have sex before I was ready, too early in relationships. I still met my H pretty young so I wound up not having sex wth that many people but man, I wish I had waited for my H. I would never tell me kids about my premarital sex or encourage it. It destroyed so much about my view of myself and the world. I honestly think the world would be better if society assumed monogamy and if promiscuity was taboo for both genders. To …

Ugh, crazy ones. They'd be considered normal if not liberal by RP standards but insane by feminist standards since I'm a woman. I'm not quite a RPW though since I still have loads of gripes with TRP. I don't think you necessarily have to wait that long to get married. "Finding yourself" is an imaginary, privileged way to pass time if you're too rich to have real problems. Promiscuity is bad for men and women and rarely indicative of a healthy attitude about yourself and sex. If you marry someone…

Yeah plus, try being married to someone with a high sex drive (not as unlikely as everyone claims). You could just ask for sex and get it whenever you want without having to put any effort into gaming her. This may not happen all the time, but all the monogamous women I know are like this.

Yep. In high school there was a guy who could pretty much have any girl, but for some reason I just wasn't attracted to him. Not my type, had nothing in common. Year later he tried to hook up with me and was kind of shocked when I said I just wasn't interested. Despite the fact that he had hooked up with girls far better-looking than I am, it seemed to bother him on a really fundamental level.

That's fair. I'm married but for some reason it matters to me that I'm considered attractive by lots of people, male and female. I know it's not a healthy or reasonable thing to feel, but having been an ugly duckling (and often rejected by boys) sometimes I have this fear that my husband is the only person who could ever think I'm pretty. It should be enough, but I'm always afraid that if we're seen in public, if other people don't find me attractive as well, he'll be less proud. It never manife…

Must be brain chemistry or something, perhaps related to gender, because a ONS sounds so awful to me I can't even fathom why anyone would specifically go for that. I also can't comprehend how a guy can bemoan that there are no "good girls" left and then actively go around trying to make fewer good girls exist. I guess that's where we get into "amoral sexual strategy" but like...don't complain if you're part of the problem.

"What do I care?" isn't a rebutall. If you don't care, why respond? My argument is that it's not easy to bang 20 year olds when you're a senior citizen. If we agree on that, then fine. And yes, I do believe age difference matters less as you get older. At 40, I may be more comfortable dating someone who is, say, 55. But I can't imagine any 55-year-old red piller thinking it's acceptable to go near a 40-year-old woman. And besides, that isn't even the scenario I'm arguing against. I'm specificall…

Even if a man only deigns to have sex with women slightly older than supermodels (I'm guessing you mean that men prefer 20, but would accept a 30-year-old too, even if they're 80 themselves), do you actually think it's going to be likely that this is even going to happen for him, once he's a senior citizen? The 7% number is women who like men 10 years older, not 20-40 years older. If you like women within 10 years of your age, you have a lot of options in that range. If you only like women from …

ok, 7% is a very small minority. Would you invest stock that only had a 7% chance of doing well? For that matter, I'm sure that there are more than 7% of men who like tattoos on women, but would it be a good idea for me to get a giant dragon on my back to appeal to men? Hopefully you get what I'm saying. Also, that's women who like men ten years older. That counts as an "older man" but it's not the Hugh Hefner scneario that people seem to think is so common. How is it incorrect that women like men around heir own age? A few years older is still "around your own age." I don't consider a man a male cougar for sleeping with a 30-year-old when he's 35. Where in my original statement did I say no women liked men a few years older?

The only part of this that I disagree with is that most men aren't trying that hard to appeal to women. Take a few dudes I know. They're in their late 20s, should be at their male peak. They had some fun hookups in their mid 20s and were actually doing pretty well despite being maybe, idk, 6/10ish. I'm not refuting the idea that older men are more appealing than older women, or that many women like men who are slightly older than them. The links you provided are both ones I've seen before. They also further prove my point- that extremely wide age gaps between 60-70 year old men and women in their 20s are really rare, and most women don't want men old enough to be their dads. Do most women like guys a few years older? Sure! But that's not "old men." I pretty much agreewith what you're saying, but I would disagree that 60 year old men "have their pick" of 30-year-olds. Is "massively fucked over" referring to women who have deliberately cheated on them or betrayed them in some way, or just women who exercised their own right to date men they found attractive instead of men they didn't? If it's the latter, that's not really fucking anyone over, and the betas have probably done it to girls the didn't find attractive. That's just called standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/14 02:06 AM

I agree with all that, but then why do I see so many comments directed at the hot girls who rejected them? All the people who say they dream of being violent toward the women who rejected them? That's toward women, not mentors/parents or past versions of themselves. I'm aware this isn't the case with all anger posts, but it does happen quite often!
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/14 02:05 AM

If the guy is a 3/10 how is an average girl not worth hitting on? Why is it not worth dating someone who is your physical superior or equal? I'm assuming you're at least a 6/10 if you feel that way, otherwise it'd be absurd. But what if the guy is really ugly? For him, isn't a 6/10 a good catch? I could never imagine being in a world where I was repulsed by my physical equal. I used to be a lot less attractive than I am now, and back then I just dated less attractive guys.

I disagree with you but this is a great response so let me try to explain why I disagree: 1.) I'm not an SJW and I don't believe it's OK to be hypocritical just because you're oppressed or otherwise at a disadvantage. I don't accept illogical arguments from anyone, no matter who they are. Hence, I don't agree with #killallmen or that it's OK to say it. It's absurd. Feminists certainly kill fewer men than men kill women, but it's not OK. 2.) 1.) Wait, a 6 is above average. Having sex with a 6 is less fulfilling than watching porn? What if the guy is a 4? That seems a little odd. And yeah, I get that everyone wants to date attractive people, I just think it's entitled to be angry at those poeple for not dating you, while you're also being too shallow to date people who are your physical equal (I don't mean you specifically-just people in general). I think we agree on that much, lol 2.) Your definition of aggression is fine- I conside…

So just to be clear, what they're angry about is being led to believe women want X when in fact women want Y (or women only want X if you also have Y), NOT the fact that hot women won't sleep with them? That's a little more undestdanable, but generally not what I gather from these types of posts. Because they dont' talk about being angry at their parents, the media, relationship advice writers...they talk about being angry at hot women.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/14 12:57 AM

Oh, I know that's not from TRP- I just mentoin it because I believe it was linked here or something at some point, and a lot of RP men defended the guy's stance. Well, normally they don't say "hot girls". They phrase it like no women are ever interested, but obviously they're only referring to the women they consider attractive, and then blaming women for not wanting to have sex with someone less attractive than they are. But honestly, you gotta read between the lines because they generally don't out-right say it. Good points about what men are "taught." I do think that women like guys who are nice to them, but not at the expense of everything else. Like…

That's a great point. They even have the whole "unicorn" term which is like the male version of "all the good ones are gay or taken" or something like "Men are dogs." Both genders mirror each other more than we think and it's all pretty absurd. I"m guilty of some of it too, at least when I was younger.

I think the idea of dread game has gotten blown way out of proportion. From what I know, it's something you do if your spouse or partner is taking you for granted to the point where it looks like she/he might be on their way to cheating or leaving, or just otherwise being a horrible partner. It's not something you do to "keep them on their toes." It's a last-shot effort to display higher value to someone who very clearly views you as low value. For example, I'm a pretty good wife. The main thing I like about TRP is an emphasis on self improvement, but RPW has some issues that make me not want to be there. So what's your input on that? I actually think that if women want to focus on their careers and have someone available for child-rearing, marrying a man who only has a part-time job or would stay at home is a fantastic idea. Only problem is that career-minded women expect to date someone who makes as much as they do, which, if they make 6 figures, is really hard. Then it's all "I just want a decent guy who is financially stable" but their idea of "financially stable" is being in the top 10% of Americans. Plus, I think gender…

Ok, but this is only the advice you'd give for a man you consider a good man, not necessarily the man she would find attractive, right? Not criticizing, just wondering what you meant by "any man she wants". If your idea of a man she wants is one she isn't at all attracted to, it's not really the same thing. Okay, I'll bite. What are the steps you'd give to a woman- who is, say, decent-looking but not gorgeous- to get "any man she wants"? I mean, if you actually do have the secret to male attraction I'm sure tons of women would want to hear it.

But doesn't that mean nobody who works can ever have a relationship? Certainly someone has to make money? For a lot of women I know, they'd love to stay home while their husbands work but that's literally not an option given the rent cost, etc. Or are you just advocating that every person (male and female) be set up to marry an arranged person who they didn't choose, so they can both do other things?

Yep. I was raised "unisex" for about 2 years (my parents even called me a boy's name for a year but I think it was some kind of inside joke) and I still remember wanting to do things and play with things that were weirdly frowned upon. Now, I'm the biggest girly girl you'll ever find.

Men with muscle trigger a biological attraction response in women, myself included. That doesn't mean we only want huge rugged men, or that we don't like skinny guys (I actually prefer the leaner side of muscle, not the bodybuilder type) but it's similar to women and breasts. Men like breasts-- not all men want enormous ones (in fact most men I know seem to prefer average-to-big) but it's a secondary sex characteristic that attracts more mates, on a basic level.

Well, I'd probably say the same thing to a boy. It's not like men are immune from diseases. And while society may value female purity more than male (which is unfair but it won't change) I also think my hypothetical son would be better served not sticking it in everything that walks. Many "good girls" run from that.

When it occurred to me, planning my wedding, that there was no way my wedding would stand out among the thousands of weddings happening that day, I felt so much more comfortable with it, instead of going out of my way to make it memorable and "unique". At the end it was memorable, but I'm not deluding myself into thinking it was more memorable than someone else's wedding.

I'm sure they don't want me posting there, and I don't really care lol. If I bother or offend them it's probably best for everyone if I'm not there. As for promiscuity, you may find this interesting: I posted a thread asking how they felt about women who wore revealing clothing. There was actually a lot of "slut shaming" going on...saying that any woman who dresses to intentionally provoke male attention is undermining women who care about their careers, and that women like that are to blame for…

Didn't you say surveys were bogus? :P All in all, I'm inclined to take that seriously, but I'm also inclined to take other surveys about mate preference seriously in which women cite a preference for men 0-4 yrs older than them.

You know I'm a woman right? But tell me how you really feel about feminism, lol. I don't think this is 100% a feminism issue (it is in part) because there are men who do this crap too. See: my other OP today. lol. There will always be delusional folks who prefer to tell themselves something comfortable than face reality. Yeah, I get feeling uncomfortable. I'm a woman and I don't have large eyes. I know I'd be more attractive if I did, but there's not much I can do! I guess if I'm presented with that info, I feel a little inadequate but that doesn't mean I am going to deny any of it being true. I have other good qualities, so it's not a huge deal.

Huh, I'm going to have to take a look at this. That's interesting about your friend. When I went on birth control I didn't notice much in the way of increased mood swings, but I think that's because I went on at 18, which is the time when your typical teenage moodswings start dying down. So I think things just stayed constant. lol.

Definitely. I couldn't stand being around a guy that was 100% alpha. Sometimes my husband's alpha traits get too exaggerated during, say, an argument, and that's not a good thing. If I had to choose more beta or more alpha, I'd choose more beta just because it's more conducive to lasting love, which is what really matters. But of course, a sexless relationship is no good either. Thanks, by the way!

Actually he serenaded me with a euphoric ditty detailing the differences between the fedora and the trilby! And he's the best I've ever done, physically and otherwise. Not the typical RP narrative but I also met him young so it's not unbelievable.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/14 11:19 PM

yeah, that's precisely why I used it as an example, I know how much RP seems to dislike it. FWIW I don't think this is necessarily the case for such a large amount of men, but I thought the example would resonate with them better than anything else.

I'm with you, I honestly don't care unless he literally feels smaller than me (and I'm pretty small boned so that's not likely). Most women seem to care but I feel like if you're going to care about a physical thing, height is kind of limiting.

I think it's literally the opposite. AWALT means that at the end of the day, all women want and dislike relatively similar things and that if you emulate the things women are inclined to appreciate, you'll do better with them. At worst, it's overly simplistic, plus it perpetuates an idea of women solely decided on by men (who can't possibly have an unbiased opinion) but it's definitely not akin to "just be yourself."

You may have a great point, but I used the tattoo example specifically because I've seen RP blogs repeatedly use tattoos as an example of someting they don't like. My original plan was to say obese women instead, which may have been a better example, but I didn't want to say anything that has a genetic marker...everyone gets old and tattoos are a choice but some people are born with issues that make them fat, so I didn't want to go there. I think in some circles women with tattoos are actually p…

That's all true, but just to be clear, no man is a 7 when he's 70 except to women in their 60s-80s. If a man is 40, his hairline starts receding and he isn't as muscular as he used to be, that's a fair narrative. But it's not like a man who was an 8 in his 20s/30s only goes down one point when he's well past the age of 60. But I mean, that's getting nitpicky, sorry. You're basically right.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying, no real disagreement or debate here. There are definitely a lot of people in America who are quite physically unattractive, but only attracted to hot people, and of course hot people are in short supply. So we have a lot of single people repulsed by each other. See: http://imgur.com/dWy2Z7h If everyone took the initiatve to be more attractive (not the "Who cares what other people think? In my experience the vast majority of men aren't fans of tattoos, but if you run in certain circles where a lot of people in general have tattoos, I think it's more of an asset (and you could compare that to sugar baby circles where the norm is dating an older man). The guys I know are pretty vanilla, and if it's more than a corny star on your ankle, it's weird to them. lol

Oh definitely. And those things are easier to do than make 500 billion dollars a year. I'd recommend any of the aforementioned things to a guy who wanted to appeal more to women. But like you said, it's varying. If a guy is super unattractive otherwise, it's unlikely that any or all of those choices will make him insta-popular with perfect 10 models. I agree with that, but what I'm saying is that since all people are really limited in how much money they really can make, it's not "a lot" nor is it that easy. It's just a better deal than what women can do, which is almost nothing.

I actually think Mark Zuckerberg is cute, but good point. But how many of those men are married to/dating 20-year-old models? Maybe a few? idk. The point is, those men are also huge outliers. That's not reality for 99.9% of dudes. $100 million can do a lot for a guy. Sure. You're totally right. Sugar daddies are a huge phenomenon. But again, it's still an outlier because that level of income is nearly impossible for the vast majority. Most people are struggling to even make $100K per year, let a…

That's true. Men definitely look better with hair than without, although given that most men do go bald eventually I don't care if my husband does. Well, I think TRP is kind of a mixed bag, so while it's definitely a strawman for some users (I got some really pragmatic responses that were really in tune with reality) it's very much the real deal for others. Maybe it's not the official red pill stance, but a lot of people adopt it. Your explanation of the male wall makes sense, although to me I've always thought that men did peak, like women, because men do have intrinsic value as sexual partners (women want sex and marriage, obviously). They definitely don't degrade as fast, that I can agree with. Men have thicker skin which doesn't wrinkle as easily as women's thinner skin (that's just sceince, and it sucks but it's truth). But men do degrade. For example, there are more sexy 50-something male celebrities than 50-something sexy female celebrities. But there are still way more sexy 30-year-old male celebrities than 50-year-old male celebrities. At a certain point, sexy just isn't on the table anymore...if a man is 80, he's not …

Mine aren't nice-looking either. I'm very pear-shaped despite being thin, so I have very thick legs and cankles and whatnot. My husband isn't going to pretend to prefer cankles but he likes plenty of other things about me, and he doesn't harp on my flaws, so it winds up not mattering lol. Yeah, true, that's obviously not how I meant it (I feel like I made that point really clear, lol) but people will see what they want to see, and if a person has hangups in their personal life it can come across unintentionally. Well just to get this out of the way, I don't think this has anything to do with homosexuality. But great point about the hair thing. I think men think their preference for brunettes is interesting or exciting, but it isn't. And I do think the guys were negging you. I've seen them defined as behavior traits or as personality types, and I think every man is a little beta and a little alpha. Every woman too. For simplicity, Alpha traits are things that make you sexy, Beta traits are things that make you cuddly. Too much beta, and you're not sexually attractive but you're fun to hang with. Too much alpha, and you're basically only good for sex (for a man trying only for ONS, 100% alpha isn't a bad idea. For a man wanting a relationship, you have to balance it.…

Usually to people who are also not considered widely attractive. But hey, if they both love and turn each other on, good for them. IDK about that but I generally agree with you. I think we live in a society where nobody is attracted to each other because nobody knows, or wants to admit, what's attractive. I know so many people who refuse to date others who are approximately "at their level" because they think they're above it, and only find a tiny percentage of the population attractive. I think most people can not suck, and be decently attractive if they try to. But of course, then you get the, "Well I don't give a fuck what other people think," attitude. How amiable, who doesn't want to be around someone who doesn't give a fuck how they look, act, or treat others? lol
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/14 08:31 PM

Yeah, I agree that horribly negative things said about any gender suck (one reason I don't go to TRP ever) but saying something like "Why do men tend to carry their cell phones in their pockets?" generalizes men but doesn't make them out to be subhuman. The problem is that a generalization of women, even if not negative, is automatically assumed to be implying inferiority.

What I mean is that nobody is sayng "Shh let's tell men not to be good looking because then they'll be better providers." I don't think it's that deliberate because I think most women believe this stuff, they're not just lying. I think they're wrong, but I don't think they are deliberately telling lies. /r/PurplePillDebate17/11/14 08:24 PM

I agree with you, but TRP is also guilty of bringing up a major exception to the rule and trying to make it reality. See: "Most women are attracted to men within 10 years of their age, statistics say so." And then, "What about Hugh Hefner? Also statistics are fake, my personal experiences are more valid than yours, and statistics combined." Then if you're a woman who says you're not into 70 year olds, you're the exception. lol
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/14 08:21 PM
2

That's all true, but I feel like there's this knee-jerk reaction to "Most of X will like Y" even if nobody is saying anything about it being a requirement. Like, yes, most women like tall men. My husband is medium/tallish (under 6' but taller than me) and in the past I've dated several guys who were 5'7". I think tall is a good trait, not neutral or negative, but that doesn't mean it's a requirement for me.

Well for the sake of not offending gay or bi or (insert other orientation here) people, I think it's fine to say "partner" instead of "boyfrend" if you're addressing people who aren't necessarily straight. But yes, 90% of people are straight.

lol, I laughed at your typo "hansom" because at first I thought you were referencing Hanson. I have noticed a lot of downvotes there, if you actually look at the thread I posted it was all about the excessive downvoting. /r/PurplePillDebate16/11/14 11:36 PM

What percentage of women do you consider attractive enough to commit to? Would you find a woman attractive enough just because she was above average? Then, if were talking commitment, consider personality. Now how many women would be considered attractive enough to commit to? Less than 5%? I never said looks are all that matters. All humans are picky by nature and looks are part of it for men and women.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/14 07:53 PM

I mean, idk, not for me. I can't be turned on by a man I don't think is good looking.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/14 05:37 PM

I never said women don't go for older men. Just that the majority go for and prefer men relatively close in age. Are there some women who like older men? Sure. But it's not the majority preference. I see the same thing argued about fat girls : "most guys like them, the ones who say they don't are lying, and I know this because I've seen it." And if you don't take a strangers claims as true (which is understandable) then I hope you get that I feel that way too.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/14 05:01 AM
2

I can fathom it, sure. Can you fathom that your experience isn't infallible and doesn't negate others'? Also, I'm going by actions not claims. The guys my friends date and sleep with are around their age. You can't set up your position as "surveys and studies are bogus, everyone else is lying so nobody else's anecdotal evidence is worthwhile, but mine is unbiased and true."
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/14 04:15 AM
1

Good answer. How old are you?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/14 12:41 AM
2

Yeah but most likely, the vast majority of men won't be super rich when they're old. That's like saying the female walk doesn't exist because I know someone who is 50 and looks 25. I thought TRP is about the general rule, not the exceptions And even then, if net worth is equal, there must be some age where a guy will stop being as attractive or decline. Maybe some women would go for a 75 year old billionaire, but way more would go for him if he were 30.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/14 12:41 AM
4

Ok, well my reality as a young woman who knows tons if young women is that we like men around our age.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/14 07:45 PM

So, there is never a point in old age where a man becomes less desirable?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/14 07:18 PM
2

So a 90 year old man is just as attractive to the same amount if women as a 30 year old man? Also, in a survey for age preferences recently, women almost unanimously wanted men around 4 years older. A woman who wants a man 30 years older is very rare, outside of paid transactions and some red pillers' experiences.

Well, I'm not BP or anti-RP. I believe the 80/20 rule is pretty valid. I just think it also applies to men and commitment, since that's what women want. Men like to believe women are the more picky sex, but that's only true in regards to casual sex and I can't blame them. When it comes to getting a man to commit to you, good luck if you aren't an 8/10 and under 30 with a perfect waist-hip ratio and full lips. How are you defining attractiveness? In terms of people I know, I'd say I know just as many funny women as funny men. In terms of celebrities, men are definitely funnier. Wait. How are young men at the bottom of SMV? Do they have a harder time than 75-year-olds? Also, ETA: I said 23 was my lower age limit not because I don't find early 20s men attractive but because all the want to do is FWB and "find themselves" and ain't nobody got time fo dat. If I met a guy younger than me who wanted what I want, and had the same priorities as I do, then great! But honestly, even most men my age don't want marriage yet so why would I be optimistic about men younger than that?…

Wow, that comment you linked to was really good. I pretty much agree with it. As for your comment, I mostly agree, but I should point out that huge age gap relationships are just plain uncommon (I'm talking 15, 20 years, not 5 years) and while they're slightly more common in one direction, it doesn't say much about women or men. There are more guys who get off on obese women than women who get off on obese men, but that doesn't mean men generally find obese women sexy.

I would agree. Late 20s. At 20 most guys still look juvenile to me. I'm 25 and I find men in their mid to late twenties the most attractive. I still find younger men attractive but I tend to associate them with their behavior and choices (casual sex, fwb etc) and I'm just not into that.

Yea, baldness is a bitch. That's one thing I really sympathize with, when it comes to men. Women may have an earlier wall, but the vast majority of us still get to keep our hair.

Fair enough. What happens if you can't afford to buy prostitutes? Also, why do you think you'll die before 60?

I'm going to have to commend you on the mastery of the term "apussy" (I'm assuming this is the opposite of pussy...I'm going to need to use this more in casual conversation.) There's no "answer" to this question because I'm asking for opinions, not fact. I'm open to the idea that there's no standard correct answer to this question. If I believed in RP theory 100% then there would be, but I don't. That's why I'm asking here. Also, this entire sub is about RP theory. If there are women on TRP I ei…

I partially agree and partially disagree. By "wall" I mean a time in your life where no matter what you do to be more attractive, your appeal is still seriously limited due to how old you are. It's more of a gradual decline than a wall, but I guess "wall" packs more punch. I also do not believe that men don't intrinsically have value between 22-32. Women (if I'm not mistaken, as I am one) want companionship, sex, marriage, etc. If they're heterosexual, that's gonna be with a man. Sure, some men …

Well, I'm a woman so actually I'm totally unwelcome on TRP. Plus, I'm not RP. But you called me a pussy cries in corner I don't consider this off-topic, because even non-RP and BP people sometimes acknowledge that there is some kind of "wall". The only reason I didn't label it "Question for Red Pillers" is because I think BP people also have opinions about this subject.

I pretty much agree. I think people are looking better in their 40s now than they were when I was a kid (idk, I used to think 40 was OLD and now I see 40 year olds who don't look too different from 30 year olds). But idk, once menopause (or the male version, where testosterone starts to drastically decline) sets in, you can be decently put-together and in shape, but you can't be that sexy, at least to young people, minus a few outliers. I do think that an average 60 year old man can be attractiv…

yea, that's definitely true. Young girls are seen as victims, young men are seen as players, but the age gap is the same. It should be the same rule/perception for everyone.

That doesn't bother me. When I was 16 I would have dated a 20 year old, and I think late teens/early 20s is basically the same level of maturity.

Again, I've heard all this stuff before and I just have a wildly different worldview. It takes two to tango and that's that. Like I said before, it isn't specifically about marriage, it's about being a decent human being, which obviously is something most people don't consider an obligation because we live in a morally bankrupt society, but I do. I'd never dream of sleeping with a married man, not because I was afraid he'd cheat on me (which he probably would) but because I could never be compli…

This is where we are just going to disagree. I'll leave it at that. Humans owe each other common decency, not trying to fuck my husband is one of those things, just like not cutting me in line. I will never understand or agree with the idea that it totes cool and not at all wrong to sleep with a married person.

Men and women in general need to communicate better, and women aren't told how to communicate with men. Unfortunately, we're kind of told that we're right in all arguments and that if the man thinks we're wrong, he's gaslighting or being an asshole. I can't even tell you how many times I've been told to leave my H because he said something perfectly reasonable. That says nothing about the inherent nature of women, of course. I just think the way relationship advice is given needs to change.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/14 12:48 AM

I agree. That said, that isn't the reason I oppose a 13 year old having sex with a 30 year old.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/14 12:46 AM

Yeah, men definitely have their "periods." Men also seem to be affected more by fluctuations in their career while women's mood can be affected by other factors just as much. Different but equal, which is always how I've felt.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/14 12:41 AM

I somewhat agree with this, but men will "Hamster" their way out of numerous red flags if the girl is hot enough. I know men who have falsely imagined personality traits that they don't even know someone well enough to find out, just because she was hot. Women certainly aren't any better (in fact I feel like a great degree of attraction for either gender is unfortunately based primarily on looks) but men definitely have their own illogical romantic notions.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/14 12:40 AM
5

Oh, I see what you mean. Well, in most states there are clauses that make it legal for an 18 year old and 16 year old to date. I agree that it would be harmful if an 18 year old went to jail for having sex with someone just 1-3 years younger. I was thinking more along the lines of men in their 20s-30s.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/14 12:37 AM

How are men actually harmed by an age of consent of 18 (that is the age in some states)? I mean, there are still plenty of women over 18 for them to choose from if they want to have sex, and if thy can't score with any of them I doubt that's change drastically if 17 and 16 year old women were available in addition to all women from 18 to 35.

There is definitely an unnecessary victim complex and imagined oppression going on, but the thing that separates it from the Tumblr brand of SJ blogs is that seasoned TRP'ers just accept reality and change themselves to benefit from it as much as possible, whereas people on Tumblr will attempt to change society to benefit them: ie "Why aren't the Disney princesses fat and genderqueer?" or "Why won't men stop being attracted to thin women? Find fat women attractive or else!!!!1"
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/14 11:49 PM
10

Oh, fair enough. Although at 20 I was only interested in high-value men in their twenties but I know TRP operates under the assumption that men keep getting hotter until they die or whatever, so I'm not even going to get into the age thing. It's always countered with "You're a woman so you don't actually know what you're attracted to" or "But you'd fuck George Clooney wouldn't you? No? Nah, you would." lol.

Interesting point about porn. I've never heard that before but I kind of agree. I'm not sure about 12, considering that's younger than a lot of girls (and a lot of boys) are biologically capable of reproducing, but I believe that it's absurd to jail two underage people for having sex with each other. If one person is 13 and one is 15, to me that's just a bad choice but not punishable by jailtime (or at least it shouldn't be).
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/14 11:19 PM
7

Maybe clarify? I assumed you were being semi-facetious anyway. If men are the gender that's being competed over, they don't need any help with women. TRP operates under the assumption that it's harder for men to score than it is for women. If 20-year-old women are fiercely battling older women for men in their mid-30s, then men are in an awesome position and don't need any help.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/14 11:18 PM

Yeah, that's pretty fair. When I was 15 my boyfriend was 18. That was fine. But if he had been 30...weird and probably hugely irresponsible on his part.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/14 11:12 PM
10

If men are in such an easy spot where all women 20-35 are competing for men in short supply, why does anyone even need TRP? Come on dude.

I'm with you there, but the tenets of RP go way beyond being traditional. It generally assumes that you, as a woman, have an inherent privilege (and are essentially worthless after some absurd age like 25) and that your only purpose in your life should be to support your husband. And, like, don't get me wrong, that's a huge part of my existence but what if he leaves me? I've seen that question posed to RPW and they can never seem to come up with anything other than "Well if he leaves you he leav…

This is pretty much the whole reason I'm not RPW. I wanted to find some female version of TRP that focused on self-improvement, acknowledging that men are by and large shallow and looks-oriented while giving practical, ugly-but-true tips for keeping a man and having a happy marriage. But RPW often seems to be more about atoning for the original sin of being born female, as well as actually trying to give the man the upper hand in the relationship, which isn't really my thing at all. Sure, I like…

lol yeah, I hate to admit it but I am a huge bitch to women who hit on my SO. Not as much if he immediately notices and walks away, but if he doesn't seem aware that she's flirting and he insists she's just being friendly, then I'm angry at both of them.

There's a difference between what I actually do and what I should do. What I should do is keep my eye on the girl but overall appear unthreatened and "above it all." What I'm more likely to do is be a huge bitch to the whore trying to nab my husband, then wind up getting into a fight with him later. Not defending my actions, just saying that's what I usually do. He does the same thing when he thinks I've been hit on and if he thinks I endorsed it at all. It's probably the area where we need the …

No no no...I thought I had one, and it was after a long period of waist training (which didn't work...my waist is quite small compared to hips, to begin with so I was going for semi-unnatural proportions anyway plus it zapped my appetite and I need to make gains for the squats I'm doing). Anyway, basically I got horrible chest pains when breathing (a sign of PE) and I had gone on some flights recently. I've done it. I don't post to social media though (I normally just send to husband or keep it for progress records). I'm a heavy squatter/lifter so I need to do this kind of stuff to make sure I'm getting somewhere. That, and measuring tape. I also do it with my skin because I'm using retin-a. The only time I posted these kinds of things on social media was when I had a fitness/waist training account that didn't show my face, and I was doing waist training. But after a pulmonary embolism scare I…
