I'm glad she's on the council because some of our other council members are straight up owned by the richest sections of the residential city. She brings some balance and a voice to the people of Seattle that don't otherwise really have one. Effectively, it's the tips that pay a good portion of their wages up front. 1	A 'feminist' just said this to me about male victims of domestic violence... This is what I was saying. Even if the comparison isn't meant to be identical it was made. The assertion that men can rob women of their agency simply by being abusive is inherently degrading to women. She's not a child. While I agree that the statement you're relplying to is a bit hyperbolic, there is merit to the statement in that one cannot compare the situation with a parent/child to the relationship of two consenting adults. A child is literally dependent upon its guardian for sustenance, comfort, safety and education whereas a woman has the ability to make decisions and see to her own safety and well being. I think that you're entirely correct and that his point is valid however, the law in question hasn't been shown to victimize women. Society by its standards regarding sexuality, male sexuality and in particular homosexuality encouraged the anonymous bathroom hookups of otherwise closeted, married bisexual and homosexual men. 1	I made a petition on Change.org for assigning harsher punishments to false rape accusers... I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree. It would be nice if we could find data (if there is another country that made false accusation punishment more harsh) so we could see if it makes a difference, I just am not convinced that intentional false accusation is done by objective women. Also, if an FRA is radical enough to believe false accusation helps the cause rather than hinders it, I would argue that they're not in their right mind. 1	Happened to me years ago, this needs to stop. Well, I know what it is to be abused on a physical and emotional level. The way I see it, death penalty = deterrent to homicide, is a stupid argument. people who commit homicide aren't concerned about their actions, they're interested in the results (whatever goal their crazy plans help them achieve). 3	Happened to me years ago, this needs to stop. My second girlfriend in high school learned the hard way. We were talking, and came to a friendly disagreement.
