Absolutely. I see reproduction as women doing something they really want to do. What’s this part mean? “women are lined up to have kids by guys whom having a kid would be a blessing”

Common knowledge. Also, there’s nothing to debate. The sub is called purple pill debate. What’s the logical counterpoint to your “hot take”?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/23 11:27 PM

You’re right but this is also a shitty post.

Why does (gender) generalize about (another gender) and tell (that gender) to do x, y, or z? The world may never know.

Men with no options aren’t marrying anyone, because they have no options…

I think he’s in the wrong here and is trying to save face and is really the partyer but I’d also guess she did something questionable and this was a preemptive strike because he felt the marriage was falling apart.

I’m sure they don’t want to have to be telemarketing any more than I want to be receiving their call so I just tell them “no thanks” and I hang up.

Oh trust me they realize how ridiculous they sound but they don’t care and they keep repeating the same bullshit hoping that eventually someone else will believe it and it will catch on.

All good info and just to add, in some parts of the US, you can’t even rent a car unless you’re at least 25, and your car insurance drops once you hit 25. That being said, everyone ages but not everyone grows up.

Just curious OP but are you on the spectrum?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/23 05:50 PM

Everyone settles anyway so it doesn’t matter. Nobody gets 100% of what they want, so, mathematically speaking, everyone settles. Settling isn’t a bad thing. It just means you’ve accepted that you’re not 100% of what someone else wants and they aren’t 100% of what you want and there’s enough that you like about each other to stop looking for someone better.

januaryphilosoher (with “radfem” in the flair) There's no counterfactual to this, you're just believing what you want to believe and will tell anyone who says otherwise they're mistaken. Even if I tell you about the obese balding men I see rocking around Asda with their wives and girlfriends you can say "nope you're mistaken they're actually above average". And as a radical feminist, you’ll do the same thing when presented with something that contradicts your strongly held beliefs, correct?

People can be in a relationship for certain benefits but still wish they were single. Yes they can. Do we have reason or data to assume that happens to a significant amount of people? Not me. Do you have this data? You could survey people but the number of people who comment that they’d leave their marriage for someone better, for money, because they’re not happy, etc. proves that some people are in relationships but would prefer not to be. I am laying out a logical way to approach this. You are…

People can be in a relationship for certain benefits but still wish they were single. It applies to both men and women. I’m sharing my opinion just like you are. You’re speculating without basis and logic as well if you’re accusing me of doing that. You’re no more right than I am. Yes, many men might also want a better woman. That lends further credence to what I meant when I said that just because someone is in a relationship doesn’t mean they wouldn’t rather be single.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 07:07 PM
2

You can also be surrounded by people who love you and still feel lonely and miserable.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 06:49 PM

Good man also doesn’t mean she’s a good woman. She might prefer to be single but not realize she’s the one causing strife in the relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 06:37 PM
-3

how can they prefer being single? They can be in relationships but still prefer to be single. Also, it might not be a bad relationship but instead it could be that they just want a better partner than what they have. Maybe he’s a good dude but he’s not the most handsome and doesn’t make enough money to give her a nicer lifestyle.

/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 12:05 AM

I agree and I was more curious where you rank things. Is physical attractiveness the most important?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/23 11:51 PM

Fair pint. So physical attraction is the most important and everything else is ancillary?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/23 11:38 PM
2

What’s most important to you and if a guy wasn’t hot enough for you, but was kind of close, could other things about him make up for that, and if so, what?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/23 11:26 PM

But are you hot enough to only date hot guys? Maybe you’re shopping out of your price range.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/23 11:20 PM
1

Not to read into this too much but do you think that’s kind of a reflection of society in that there’s lots of good guys out there but they just physically aren’t the most ideal and perhaps that’s why there’s the issues with dating that there are?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/23 02:41 PM

Are these below average dudes still good guys who have the masculine qualities those women want and it’s just their looks that makes them below average?

I’m a guy so this doesn’t apply to me but to share my own experience, I think a lot of people do want to get married but they’re worried about marrying the wrong person. Women are worried about marrying someone who will be lazy or an abuser. Men are worried about marrying someone who will cheat on them or file for divorce and try to ruin them financially. This is why trust and respect are far more important in a relationship than love.

Looks matter in the sense of showing someone that you care about your appearance enough to have the discipline to work on it. If you’re in shape, it means you have the discipline to eat healthy and not excessively, and that you make sure to stay active.

Improving yourself is never bad advice because if you only do it so that you can find a partner then you’re likely to stop doing it if you do find a partner. You might also not find a partner. If you do it for yourself regardless of whether you have a partner then you’ll always do it whether you have a partner or not. Which one of those 2 options do you think is better?

Nothing wrong with being friends with women. You just have to understand that she might only see you as a friend and you might incorrectly read it as an opportunity to date her. Suss it out and be cool if she says no thanks. Also, remember that you can’t behave the same way around some women that you can with your buddies. It’s just a fact that the kind of jokes or hazing each other isn’t the same with them as it is with your buddies. This is where many men find themselves in HR’s office for som…

How tall are you?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 02:40 PM

Maybe so but that’s not what that person said. You can clearly see where they said: How can you sit there and blame men when 95% of women won't date a man shorter than them? Not, shorter than 6ft. So, either most women are 6ft tall or taller, or there’s some bullshit going on. Also, I find those numbers highly suspicious considering more than 15% of the male population are in relationships (just a hunch) and yet by your stats, not all of them are 6ft or taller.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 06:08 AM
3

95% of men aren’t shorter than 95% of women so how’s this a valid complaint?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 03:02 AM

Who are you complaining to? Anyone who will listen? Did you consider that maybe people also want to hear solutions instead of just listening to you complain?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/23 11:17 PM

Whom* It should be unacceptable to you and anyone else who only complains but won’t take action in their own lives to improve things.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/23 10:55 PM

He doesn’t get it. He just wants to complain but won’t take the necessary steps to improve things. Why? Because complaining is easy and free and doesn’t require hard work like self-improvement does.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/23 10:46 PM

Complaining is acceptable but complaining and then not doing anything to improve your situation is unacceptable.

What? Who said anything about getting married in a month? The comment you replied to says: Most men marry after 30. Why would you have to get it done before? That means that from age 30+ is where most men are getting married. That means guys who are 30, 35, 40, etc. are getting married more often than guys younger than 30.

Where’s the proof? I guarantee there’s plenty of good women out there, it’s just that either they’re with shitty dudes or they just haven’t found anyone yet. Easy. Fit 50 year old. Do you realize the effort it takes to be fit at 50? A 20yo can be fit on a diet of ramen and cigarettes. To be fit at 50 takes exponentially more effort. Those 20yo girls are putting zero effort into being in shape and are not treating their bodies like finely tuned machines. No it's not wrong or a bad thing in itself. Creating a power imbalance in order to get it was the only part that was arguably bad. Where’s this power imbalance you keep referring to? I’m not talking about CEOs or politicians. I’m talking about guys working regular jobs to provide for their families. Where’s the power imbalance? Where is it? It makes sense to me that men invest more in society when they have a stake in it like marriage and children. Is that wrong? If your argument is that men should be doing it anyway, I’d simply point to the number of single men who already do that. It's interesting how you managed to frame most the reasons for this from a position of male victimhood or lack of patriarchal/masculine values. Not saying all are wrong even though I disagree with a couple of them. It makes sense given that it’s a discussion about why so many guys are unprepared to deal with life. Another reason I would consider is men don't understand what women find attractive because for generations, under patriarchy, men didn't need to know what women found attractive. Doesn…

I do want to clarify, I’m not saying single mothers do a bad job. I’m saying I don’t think people understand the importance of a father or at least won’t understand it for a while and long after quite a bit of damage has already been done, and maybe irreversible damage.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/23 06:08 AM

My blunt and asshole opinion is the increase of guys being unprepared for the real world is probably highly correlated with the increase of single motherhood. The role a good father plays in the house is highly underrated and I’m guessing a large reason for why things are heading the way they are.

Huge rise in single motherhood correlated with the points about a lack of good fathers Lack of good fathers Lack of good male role models in school Being bombarded with anti-male propaganda Lack of camaraderie with other guys Lack of masculine things like wood shop and auto shop Lack of investment in men’s education in general Starting school too early because girls mature faster Social media warping perception and reality I’m sure there’s more but that’s a good chunk of it.

If she’s real, which I have my doubts about for various reasons, then she’s keeping herself in great shape and continuously works on her attitude and personality, which would explain why she was able to find a good guy willing to marry her. The reality is, many want the prize but aren’t willing to make themselves the prize. It’s easy to just call yourself a 9 (there are no 10s) when you’re not. It’s difficult to actually become one in all facets.

If you’re a high earner then why aren’t you treating your fiancée half of the time? You’re supposed to be strong and independent. Men - don’t buy into this BS. If a girl is into you, it doesn’t matter if you spend $200+ on dinner and drinks or if you just walk on the beach and swap stories and let the conversation wind it’s way around and figure out what you both have in common and where you can debate interesting topics.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/23 02:52 AM

I’m guessing it’s one or both of these: The woman he’s marrying ain’t exactly a catch herself and she doesn’t consider herself one either, which differs from the general context of this discussion we’re having where many women would rate themselves a 10 when they’re really a 5, to put it bluntly. Or The fact that he’s bold and unapologetic is attractive to women, which is also a high possibility since that confidence is like an aphrodisiac to some women

It’s not necessary so much as it’s desired. The wedding is desired, the ring is desired, etc. What do you bring to a marriage and what are you offering? Would you sign a prenup? Likewise, what does the guy you marry need to bring to it and what does he need to offer? For some people, being willing to marry is proof. That’s exactly it. It’s a way to show friends, family, the rest of society, etc. that you’re validated because you got someone to sign a legal contract to stay with you. I.e. social proof It means there's something between "I'm leaving" and being gone forever -- even of that something is lawyers. Nailed it again. Marriage isn’t required for love and commitment. It’s a legal contract, which makes it closer to being contractual, which the vows show, than anything else. There’s nothing about it that proves you love or are committed to someone any more than being in a relationship and not being married. The evidence of this is people who disrespect their marriages in a multitude of ways. There’s also no need for marriage in terms of any sort of legalities. All of those can be accomplished without marriage. I…

Are you using “childish” as a pejorative or just to describe doing something children would normally do? The gist of the thread is using “childish” as a pejorative in this context of collecting legos or things like that, which is incorrect.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/23 12:35 AM

False. It’s not childish to own children’s toys. It’s childish to act like a child. Owning things or doing activities that children typically do isn’t childish. A perfect example is Legos. They’re designed for children but also state things like “5+” since there’s no upper age limit on them.

/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/23 06:49 PM

So why would OP use them as an example? Plus, she’s an attractive woman. I think OP is conflating the fact that she’s 55 with some level of unattractiveness and OP can’t reconcile someone’s age against their attractiveness like we’re all supposed to look like hot 20-something’s well into our 60s and 70s.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/23 02:57 PM

Before I say anything, are you married? Do you know why Jim and Jason married those women? What are your qualifications?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/23 02:50 PM

And aren’t she and Jason Momoa separated pending divorce?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/23 02:49 PM

I like them. I find it cute. Like a cute dog running away when you expect them to protect you. We all have our preferences but when they cower in the face of danger and you realize they can’t and won’t protect or help you, you might change your mind. Atleast those men dont go cause serious harm when faced adversity like some would. I even find it admirable in some context. On the contrary. Just because someone is a strong man doesn’t mean he’s going to cause harm, but he could also help prevent …

Because harmless and kind men seem weak to those women who hate them. It’s good to be kind but not harmless. Harmless is synonymous with spineless and nobody likes a spineless wet blanket who cowers in the face of adversity.

You don’t take accountability for things you didn’t have control over. Why would anyone do that? What you take accountability for is what you’re going to do about the hand you were dealt and the decisions you make going forward once you’ve begun to understand things better.

It would convenient to point fingers at society or parents or the opposite gender for lack of dating success. But where is that accountability that men allegedly take? It would convenient to point fingers at society or parents or the opposite gender for lack of dating success. In all seriousness, men need to take responsibility for fixing their own lives. However, marriage is still not worth it. There’s simply no need for it. You can have commitment without marriage. It’s an antiquated idea.

A relationship predicated on acquiring value for one self. Ok so that is a transactional relationship, but that’s not all relationships. I don't consider that talking down to yourself. I consider that facing reality. Blaming yourself for someone else’s inability to handle a confrontation isn’t facing reality, it’s misattribution. You learn why it happened, you fix it, and if you can't fix it, then you accept it. Nothing wrong with internalizing things but don’t internalize someone else’s deficie…

That’s not how people operate my good man. You say a few hours but in all likelihood it’s at least a few days or even a few weeks depending on circumstances. Also, yes I’d still take the tough mudder path to spare them even just that pain. I don’t want to be responsible for someone else’s pain no matter how short lived it may be.

No I wouldn’t assume that and I’d probably also take the flat paved road because taking the tough mudder one seems unnecessarily difficult. I might do it for the enjoyment but if I’m just trying to be efficient then I’m taking the flat paved road. However, I don’t think those people are doing it out of efficiency. All relationships are transactional. Before I say anything about this, what’s your personal definition of transactional? If someone ghosted me, that is more of a reflection of me than them. Absolutely. I couldn’t agree more. That proves to me I wasn't worth their time to even say what's up, which means I need to desperately up my value as man to earn that respect. Shit. In that case, ghosting them is still a cowardly move because it is difficult to tell someone you’re not into them, but it’s the right thing to do and it’s better for your soul. It’s cowardice whether it’s wearing the cloak of fear, indifference, etc. Cowardice can mean genuine fear but it’s also a lack of courage. Someone who ghosts lacks the fortitude to do the right thing, which is to, at the very least, tell the person you don’t want any more contact. The better solution is to tell them why so they have an opportunity to fix it but that might be asking a lot of today’s society.

There’s no “self-preservation” in ghosting. It’s selfishness. If you have to ghost because you’re too soft to handle a conversation, you have zero business being in a relationship. Ghosting is cowardice, plain and simple. It’s the inability or lack of desire to see someone else’s humanity and engage with them on a level where you can understand their emotions and explain why you don’t see you and them being a good fit. No, when you go down on a guy he expects it all the time but doesnt reciprocate. Thats why Ive stopped doing it. We’re not all like this. Women naturally carry more fat than men to begin with and men are more apt to choose a partner who has a better personality and looks “good enough” than a hot chick who’s a raging bitch. Remember, for every smoking hot girl there is, there’s a guy who’s tired of fucking her.

People don’t understand or don’t care what it is to be insecure. Society won’t call women insecure if they don’t want to date a dude under 6’ but they’ll call a guy insecure if he won’t date a girl who does OF. They’re just throwing around the word insecure without having a grasp of what it really means, or they’re just being disingenuous and they know they’re liars.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/23 03:51 PM

Men need to get back to being men and spending time around other men doing manly things together. I know how that sounds but it’s correct. The days of dudes going camping, fishing, building shit together, sitting in the backyard grilling and enjoying some cold beers, working on cars, going to the gym, going on hikes, talking about life’s problems, etc. aren’t necessarily gone but there’s a whole lot less face to face interactions and the online communications just aren’t the same.

A great therapist will listen and offer solutions and also hold you accountable but as someone that’s been in therapy, your biggest obstacle is you. What I’ve learned from this sub is basically anything that smells remotely like male empowerment is red pill, which makes no sense to me but maybe it’s because I understand there’s a lot more nuance and because RP isn’t a cohesive group of tenets. Often many men find themselves in the RP realm because they’ve had negative experiences with women and they’re looking for support and explanations. Many of you people here fail to realize that or you just don’t care. I understand this is Reddit and so you don’t feel any personal connection enough to reach out and try to help someone but if you’re not going to help …

I highly disagree. I think they might actually pick up those qualities from some of the more toxic red pill avenues but I bet they’re mostly going because they’re just lost in the world and don’t have a lot of support or guidance. Do you have real life experience proving the opposite?

Not all of it. Remember that some non-RP folks brand things as RP content and other RP creators claim things as RP that aren’t. There’s no rubric for what’s RP and what isn’t. It’s all highly subjective.

Ask yourself first what’s driving men towards the red pill. Also, understand that not all content is red pill. There’s a lack of masculinity and many times a young man looking for it is going to find it in RP content because society is otherwise trying to rid itself of masculinity. Be the change you want to see in the world.

That makes complete sense and explains a lot. I’m rather new to religion and I basically found the church because I was in need of support, kind of like how many other people find it, and I’m already starting to notice and get this sense that the people there aren’t really any better than the ones outside the church. Although I will say that some of the newer and more skeptical guys I’ve met seem to share the same observations so I’m thinking I’ll work on befriending them and I’ll keep the other…

It is adultery and men claiming that adultery is ok if they do it but not ok if women do it are morons and they’re not Christian men. The problem is there’s a whole lot of people claiming to be Christians but aren’t upholding the Christian values.

Many people on social media, especially Reddit, want to bitch moan and complain because they can do that while sitting on the toilet taking a nasty dump instead of actually putting in work to improve their situation. Ironically, it’s usually the most privileged doing most of the complaining to try to appropriate some of the oppression from the marginalized. I.e. rich white women complaining about the plight of black folks, the LGBTQ+ community, etc., in order to feel like they’re in solidarity b…

It’s a fine line between shitting on someone for lamenting why they’re single and helping them unlearn the things they’ve learned. One is quite easy and makes things worse by reinforcing what they’ve learned. The other takes more work but will produce better results. Couples therapy and explain my side. If that doesn’t work, it’s time to call it quits on the relationship. I’m not staying where I’m not wanted and neither should anyone else. Again, all of this assumes those extremes you mentioned aren’t happening and that I’m fulfilling my role in the relationship. What advice would you give a woman if she complained her husband wasn’t having sex with her? Would you tell her to leave or tell her to stay and just accept it?

I never said to go behind their back. I’d talk to my partner and give them an opportunity to discuss what’s going on and work things out and figure out if there’s something I’m doing wrong. Remember that my original comment said “assuming you’re pulling your weight in the relationship”. If the genders were reversed, you’d see all sorts of women supporting another woman getting her needs met elsewhere.

One party doesn’t get to single-handedly decide to open a marriage? I’m not sure how this is being suggested as equivalent to divorce. People do it. I don’t like it but I think people do have a right to have their needs met or have the right to leave the relationship without a penalty. And where do you draw the line at this? Your wife can’t have sex for 6-12 weeks after having a baby. I draw a line there, but that’s just me. Your needs aren’t being met, so cheat? Your husband has cancer. Your ne…

Sexless marriages exist for all sorts of reasons. Simply put, if you’re not getting your needs met but you’re pulling your weight in the relationship, go get your needs met elsewhere. Nobody should have to fulfill their partner’s needs if they don’t want to but that partner also shouldn’t be penalized for getting their needs fulfilled in other ways either. Just make sure not to get any other women pregnant or bring any STDs back to your partner. No fault divorce means you don’t get penalized for…

I got it backwards. I meant we adapt better most likely because we have a much shorter list of what we want so it doesn’t really feel like we’re compromising on much. At the same time, they take a much bigger risk with the wrong partner since they could be pregnant for 9+ months, which is obviously a huge time commitment.

I think you know what I’m asking. Would you still do your job if you made a whole lot less money? No I’m not suggesting to avoid women. I’m saying don’t make them the focus of your life because there’s no guarantees either way. You could meet the hottest girl who’s a pain in the ass or an unattractive one who’s the best spouse and mother to your kids, or any woman in between. Because medicine, especially in 2023, is truly very important work. And doing high yield work within medicine, is even more important. It’s not a matter of excluding women. It’s just that this particular network is better served by the male camaraderie. It’s similar to how you’d talk to your buddies about certain issues you wouldn’t mention to your wife/gf or why you’d ask your accountant for tax advice instead of your doctor. Your professional network would obviously be both men and women but your support group is better off being made up of men who better understand the daily struggles of other men.

Not quite. The crux of the matter is we’re too focused on chasing a relationship or other things instead of improving our own lives and building larger support networks to help lift up other men. Once we as a whole lift each other up then we’re overall in a better position to be able to seek relationships and help each other if those relationships fail.

I’m right there with you brother and there’s many like us so first things first, you’re not alone. The goal needs to be that we support other men such that a girlfriend/wife/kids are only a bonus in our lives and not a necessary part. It needs to be a “I’m choosing to get married and have kids” rather than “if I had a wife and kids then I’d have purpose.” What you need is some purpose in your life. You need a reason to wake up every day and be eager to tackle life’s challenges. I know that sound…

What I’m saying is men need to make their focus improving their own lives and networks instead of chasing a relationship. Only once they’ve built that good life for themselves will they be better equipped to decide if they want a relationship and kids because they’ll be content by themselves, since they have a good life and a network, and then a woman and kids are a bonus, as it should be, rather than making the man’s life complete.

I think you answered your own question. Older and younger women are much more confident, independent, etc. and thus control access to the bedroom and relationships, which is fine, as that goes hand in hand with consent as well. Gender roles in society and relationships need to change with the times as well. Traditionally, men were seen as providers and protectors. That’s changing and it’s now much more of a partnership, as it should be. However, men’s primary focus needs to be on building good l…

Flip it around and you’ve got an interesting conundrum. A faithful woman shouldn’t have any problem with a paternity test and it might be even a benefit for her to insist on one as a way to build more trust with her partner. Sort of like a “I don’t know if this is a concern if yours or not but I want to reinforce your trust in me so I want you to get a paternity test.” That would be a way to both address any concerns and also still empower women.
