We're treating them as vocational training institutions when they don't serve that purpose like a programming bootcamp or plumbing/electrician school. Aside from girls choosing ridiculous fields of study, this fucked up perspective affects guys, too, as there are more than just "gender/women studies" degrees that are viewed to be worthless (or have an indirect pathway to a career).
