I’m the cheater…my storyI’m so sorry that happened to you, dude. I assumed your wife had cheated but letting you to raise the children yourself goes to show she wasn’t a stellar mother to begin with. You sound like an amazing, responsible father. So glad you’re enjoying Hawaii!! I’ve had a blast there. Can’t do it now since my children are small and that’s too long in the plane. Safe trip back to Oz and best of luck to you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/04/24 01:49 AM
I’m the cheater…my storyYou are a judgemental person. You can be a cheater, a bad husband and a great father. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/04/24 05:44 AM
If you're a good person and got married, how did it feel when your marriage broke down? Did you ever wonder as to where you went wrong, and why God made you meet the person that you ended up marrying? How did you reconcile these events whilst still believing that God still has a plan for everything?God? | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/01/24 02:48 PM

This sub is kind of depressingAre suicide hotlines depressive??… I doubt it. They’re both tools to uplift depressed people and show you there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, that’s all. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/12/23 01:04 AM
Am I overthinking the consequences of getting married? The ONLY reason to get married is to raise children, if you have that reproductive imperative. If you don’t, and you don’t have any problem picking up women, it is complete idiocy. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/11/23 11:24 PM
I Feel Like Wife Spends Too Much Money... Am I Right or I'm Just Paranoid??Thank you very much for this suggestion. | 0 | I GOT MARRIED TO PROCREATE... now I have a beautiful child but realize there's no connection (AT ALL) with my wife.Ok, keyboard Rambo. Hope life lets you forgive whoever hurt you so much (because sure as hell it wasn't me) and I hope one day you find inner peace. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/11/23 05:35 AM
I GOT MARRIED TO PROCREATE... now I have a beautiful child but realize there's no connection (AT ALL) with my wife.Hey man, I don't know where all this animosity comes from. Yes, I've made plenty of mistakes, I have crippling OCD and anxiety, I am selfish sometimes and make premature decisions. But at the end of the day there's a lot of stuff that is good about me, you just don't know me, and that's ok. By the way, there's a clear selective advantage to good looking people, and physical attractiveness is associated with reproductive success in humans living in industrialized settings. If my daughter is sligh… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/11/23 03:16 AM
I GOT MARRIED TO PROCREATE... now I have a beautiful child but realize there's no connection (AT ALL) with my wife.Yes, we've talked about it. She knows we're very different. We're in the middle of the move now, and with the extra space things have eased down a bit. We'll see what happens but I certainly keep the communication open with her (trying to be tactful, of course). | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/11/23 02:49 AM
| -2 | I GOT MARRIED TO PROCREATE... now I have a beautiful child but realize there's no connection (AT ALL) with my wife.Dude, I’m a YouTuber, I’m used to trolls. Just tell me I should stay in the relationship, that’s all. Don’t insult my wife or my vocation to be a father. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/11/23 03:39 PM |
| -2 | I GOT MARRIED TO PROCREATE... now I have a beautiful child but realize there's no connection (AT ALL) with my wife. The prejudice is quite heavy on this one. Yes, I was/am a hedonist, I could come across as a prick with my selfish acts, and I picked a wife based on looks to give my children that selective advantage. I don't believe in the sanctity of marriage, and I find religious zealots and prudish people repulsive. I disclosed all that, and am not here for permission, commiseration or condescension... I'm here to see what the best course of action in this difficult situation is. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/11/23 05:18 AM |
I GOT MARRIED TO PROCREATE... now I have a beautiful child but realize there's no connection (AT ALL) with my wife.Yesss... I knew it was the price I'd have to pay. But what better destination will that money have if not to support my child. I don't really have many materialistic aspirations. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/11/23 05:00 AM
| -1 | I GOT MARRIED TO PROCREATE... now I have a beautiful child but realize there's no connection (AT ALL) with my wife.Well, I’m here for guidance (one way or another because it’s a difficult situation), not validation, and certainly not to get scolded. If I wanted to be lectured I just have to leave the toilet seat up at home. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/11/23 01:52 AM |

I GOT MARRIED TO PROCREATE... now I have a beautiful child but realize there's no connection (AT ALL) with my wife.Best you can hope for is to rotate them to keep that 'new / passionate' feeling. Haha... you're so right my friend. Thank you for your answer. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/11/23 12:23 AM
I GOT MARRIED TO PROCREATE... now I have a beautiful child but realize there's no connection (AT ALL) with my wife.Jesus… what a kind, thorough answer. Thank you very, very much for your feedback!!! | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/11/23 11:37 AM
I GOT MARRIED TO PROCREATE... now I have a beautiful child but realize there's no connection (AT ALL) with my wife. Thanks man. I turned 40 years old and came up with a list of things that I wanted in my life before I died. Having children was in the short list (there were 3 things, the others were related to work and life choices). I thought I would be willing to sacrifice some happiness in order to be a father. I didn't know if I'd ever meet that "perfect someone"... at some point the whole concept sounded naive. So I convinced myself into a second marriage... to raise children. I fundamentally do not belie… | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/11/23 10:26 AM
I GOT MARRIED TO PROCREATE... now I have a beautiful child but realize there's no connection (AT ALL) with my wife.No. I always downplayed the connection part. To be very honest, I think subconsciously I have always wanted to show the rest of the world I have a beautiful wife. I sound like a fool now, but this is where I am. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/11/23 10:15 AM
Trouble with intellectual and emotional connection with wifeYes. It was clear. She is a very attractive woman. I REALLY wanted to have children. I know it sound very utilitarian but I needed somebody to help me raise children. She’s been a great mother. It’s a marriage of convenience… I bring the money, just got a house, May get her a car, she takes care of the house and the baby. I don’t know if this is fair to anybody. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/11/23 08:19 AM
Trouble with intellectual and emotional connection with wifeSo did you have the talk with her?… how did it go? | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/11/23 11:44 AM
Trouble with intellectual and emotional connection with wifeHahaha 🤣… spot on. I barely wanna have sex with her… and I just paid for her boob job. But it’s so hard when the intellectual connection is not there. Shit. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/11/23 11:28 AM
Trouble with intellectual and emotional connection with wifeShe is a superficial person. Conversations are shallow, there’s no detail, everything is vague. Her upbringing was in a farm, and even though she has multiple degrees there’s no sophistication, and I just can’t blame her for that… that’s just who she is. But I get so damn bored… we don’t like the same movies, humor, etc. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/11/23 05:27 PM
Trouble with intellectual and emotional connection with wifeI could’ve written that myself. Married for a year, together for 2.5 years. I’m 45, she’s 37. I got with her because I wanted to have kids and now we have the most beautiful 11 month old girl. She’s my world. But my wife and I don’t connect. She’s a very attractive woman (a solid 9, or a 10 corrected for age), but she’s into esthetics, Botox, and all that superficial crap. I’m a physician, I’m very well grounded and like to have deep conversations about philosophy, economics, classical music, ar… | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/11/23 05:56 AM
Dilated pupilsIt’s excitation of the sympathetic system… that happens when you’re angry or scared (think of fight or flight reactions). It’s adrenaline mediated. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/10/23 09:13 AM
How to dealIt sounds like situational anxiety/depression. Yes, ask your PCP about SSRIs. I’m a doctor and most people will benefit from them. Again, you have to take them for at least 6 to 8 weeks to take effect. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/10/23 07:47 PM
How to dealSame thing as the rest are saying here. You have to man the fuck up and keep contact to a minimum while the lawyer gives you further instructions. But I will add, you sound like you’re depressed, and you might need treatment for that and for the anxiety. Get that treated. SSRIs take 8 weeks to work but getting out of that depression will help you get the real perspective of the situation, which is the one the people in this thread are seeing. Good luck my friend. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/10/23 11:40 PM
I'm super upset and can't be bothered to do anything.Hi kid, you dropped these: …….,,,,,, But seriously, lawyer up!! | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/09/23 07:13 AM
22M Getting divorcedYou’re overthinking this. You’re a kid… don’t waste your 20’s with a cheating wife. Live your life, meet lots of other women. DO NOT MARRY AGAIN… unless you have lived with the new person for a long time and don’t see any red flags… ideally in your 30’s. Take this as a lesson, and learn from it!! Not sure why you asked about the chances of the other relationship failing, but to answer the question, chances are high… reasons are immaturity and people who cheat engage in regular cycles of cheating… | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/09/23 09:12 AM
