Thanks for clarifying. You make some great points, and I think that could be what he was trying to say. I will be the first to admit that feminists need to actively police their forums for male discrimination as well. Misandry is often regarded as less severe than misogyny, and this is something that must change.

Thanks friend. I was starting to feel quite unwelcome here, which I hope is not the case.

Sorry, I don't understand what you're saying. Care to explain?

Right... and testosterone has never influenced a male to make an unwise choice. The hormone argument goes both ways.

How many families are there were the dad wasn't allowed to be a part of raising the kid? This is very true. And a great men's rights issue. This is not my point however. My point is that gender roles exist, and they go both ways. You cannot simultaneously ignore the existence of gender roles that women experience while decrying the gendered expectations men face. Well and men who earn less than their wives are far more likely to be divorced by those wives and thus left out of the parenting equat…

I hope that I am not mischaracterized as one of the "militant feminists" that are apparently hijacking your subreddit. I am a female who loves her boyfriend, brother, and father, and all of her wonderful male friends. Certainly not a man-hater. I do not agree with everything that some feminists propose, just as you might not agree with every post on men's rights. I do however, believe in equality among the sexes, in this I think we can both agree on. (Equality, not superiority). As someone who s…

I am subscribed to both subreddits as well! Also a psychology major. I think it's so important to learn about the gender stereotypes and discrimination experienced by both sexes.

Please read the article and then look at the chart of wage earnings in different fields. After reading the chart do you still have questions?

Hm.. one sentence out of an entire article, and one blog by a women who happens to be a feminist. One person does not speak for an entire movement. If one man writes a blog post that he is pro circumcision, does this mean that all men are pro-circumcision? Also, it becomes obvious that feminists are not leading the crusade. I think you are using tiny amount of evidence to support your warped idea that "man-hating feminists" are sharpening their scalpels, eager to mutilate little boys genitals. I…

Let me ask you a question. How many people do you know that were raised by a stay at home dad? Or whose fathers scaled back their careers so that their wives could pursue a more demanding job? I know 0 stay at home dads, and I know only 3 individuals who work slightly less than their wives and take on some of the childcare (2 of them also have nannies). This "vague" pressure for women to raise children is pretty entrenched in our society. What you fail to understand is that these gendered expect…

You could be right, fewer are running. But it could be for the exact reason you were so quick to dismiss. Men aren't demanding that women "get back into the kitchen", but women with children are often pressured to scale back their careers in favor of being a "good mother". Working mothers often face criticism and the expectation that she will choose a less demanding career, though attitudes are gradually changing. This is not the ONLY reason, but the issue is far more complex than you are making…

Yeah but it could get you murdered and set on fire.. Some people are very very phobic of the gays. (http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/nov/08/gay-barman-killed-teenager-frenzy)

The title of this post is horribly misleading, however the article brings up some great points. I think one of the big issues in education is that there is not an equal distribution of male and female teachers. Boy students need male educators to show them succeeding in school isn't "girly". I think a lot of young boys are afraid to come off like teachers pets, whereas this behavior is more acceptable for girls.

Agreed. Fatherlessness and male incarceration would be an interesting issue to discuss in men's rights. When we get done feminist-bashing maybe we can get into some real issues that really do affect men! What are the factors that might drive men to leave their families? Societal pressures to provide/be the breadwinner? Rigid gender roles? How might an absent father figure impact these children? What role should modern fathers play in raising children?

I'm really curious as to which feminist movements are leading the crusade for male genital mutilation. Care to educate me with some sources?

Not really sure this is the best example of female privilege.. I am fully aware that females are advantaged in certain areas, but this article is definitely a better example of how the wage gap tends to favor men.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
