Women are people (ie. each is an individual person) same as men. You said that you tend to put women on a pedestal, but (and no shame here! because this is cultural messaging that we all internalize and have to/should work through eventually), even idolization is a kind of “positive” dehumanization (the flip side of the negative, which is objectification). Because it still ends up with not seeing women as complex and/or flawed (ie. as human) individuals same as men—and thus you’ll always end up …

I want to say that while what you did is horrific, you also display some incredible growth here. Like: genuine desire to change, genuine regret + guilt, genuine sensitivity + awareness towards those who are victims to the same or similar types of crime as well as your own victims, and absolutely no resentment or blame towards anyone for facing the consequences of your own actions—you even appreciative that the consequences happened, because you appreciate the way they forced you to change and be…

He ruined his life because he tried to get his “dick wet” non-consensually Which is a crime, you absolute walnut. That’s the part that ruined his life. That’s not the same thing at all as trying to have consensual relations with people. Unless, of course, you think there’s no difference. Which would say a lot about you, instead. Your comment is the equivalent of if he said that he “ruined his life trying to steal a car” and you told him to “stop trying to ever have a car.” Like, what he can’t ev…

Great points! And I would definitely also make the argument that the nuclear family is not only a very new concept when contextualized in all of human history, but it’s also a very unnatural one. Looking back at how we lived for thousands and thousands of years, prior to the advent of agricultural societies, we as a species seem to naturally congregate into “villages”, “tribes”, etc, where kids are raised communally.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/23 08:30 AM

Well a huge part of the gender wage gap is due to inequitable biological demands and corporate policies regarding new parents. People generally become parents in their early to mid thirties, which is typically a time of vital career-determining opportunities and promotions into more senior roles. Yet if they want kids, women have to take time off to give birth and recover, which often leads them to being the “natural choice” in a couple to put their career on hold for a while to care for the inf…

Yeah, agreed. Honestly, I see nothing wrong with platonic marriages—and I mean intentionally platonic marriages, not “dead bedrooms”. Like why not marry your platonic best friend and raise kids/dogs/plants together? It arguably simplifies/negates a lot of common marriage issues, and it doesn’t stop either party from having romantic relationships. In fact, it keeps the messy chaos of romance and sex out of it. Marriage, historically, has been little more than a business partnership, why not keep …

Read my comment above https://reddit.com/r/PurplePillDebate/s/0fRKrC5Y1E Socialization does play a huge part in it. Just like men are socialized to think that not approaching women is “cowardly” or a “failing of them as a man”. Or that women rejecting him is an inditement of his worth as a man.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/23 04:55 PM

Yeah, women aren’t approaching you because they can probably tell you’re hostile towards them. You seem to lack basic empathy and instead assign malicious intentions to everything they do, say, or think. I personally know a lot of women that have tried to unlearn their conditioning and be more assertive in approaching and/or asking for men’s numbers first. I’m one of them. I approached, chatted up, and asked for the number of a guy literally a month ago. If he had rejected me, I wouldn’t have ta…

You missed the point completely. The point is that men too often comment/criticize on a woman’s body regardless of the context or content of the video/media. If I see a video/media of a fat man online, I don’t comment on his body, that’s rude. And extremely cruel because only a dumbass could think that a fat person doesn’t already know and/or is insecure that they’re fat and needs to be informed by a stranger online, often in a very cruel way. The only time it’s appropriate to comment on a perso…

“We should seek to uplift women to our greatness and struggle.” What does this even mean, lol. Can you clarify?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/23 08:21 PM

I think perhaps you misunderstand me. Going back to my original root comment at the top of this thread, I explicitly prescribe tailoring your approach to each individual woman. I clearly refute the idea that you can treat women as a monolith. Yes, you need to predict the thoughts and feelings of each individual woman you hope to succeed with, and you can only do this by treating each as a distinct person. Yeah I actually just edited my comment to reflect that because I read your other comments a…

The problem is too many men think they can consistently “predict the thoughts and feelings” of all women like some monolith. (I can’t tell if you think like this—it kinda sounds like you do? Let me know if I’m wrong though). But I wonder if men that think like this also approach “charming” men (like befriending them, getting along with them) like some monolith, or do they treat each one like an individual? Like yeah, all people can be “predictably charmed” to a certain and/or to varying degrees.…

So I’m on the spectrum as well, but I do just fine (and actually think I’m better at it, or at least more aware, than most neurotypical people) because I put in years of effort. It’s a skill you can learn just like woodworking or horseback riding or working spreadsheets or whatever. It’s just one of the most complicated skills with the most amount of “data” involved there is, especially for people on the spectrum. Like I studied social intelligence/social interactions and subtleties harder and f…

I mean, you also want the “benefit of avoiding rejection” without being approached by an “uggo”. I guarantee you that if all women were suddenly approaching men they were interested in with the same relentlessness, you would not appreciate being hit on by 10-12 “uggos” a week.

I mean I agree that women need to be more assertive in romance/sex, but that requires getting rid of gendered socialization that grooms passivity (or only “receptivity”) in them in regards to romance/sex and the social norms that enforce it, like people still assuming a woman that approaches first is “aggressive” or “easy/slutty” a lot of the time. Lol, dude. If a man’s effort to make the world more equal for women boils down to “I want women to approach me for sex”, his perspective/priorities a…

Dude. Hardly anyone makes it “clear as day” what they want depending on context, but especially in a first interaction. Even men. A guy walks up to a woman in a grocery store doesn’t open up with “let’s fuck” or even “hey I think you’re attractive, interested in going on a date with me?” He asks her name and comments on how unique it is, compliments her smile/hair or something, comments on how crazy busy the grocery store is and how he’s only just getting his shopping done now bc he’s swamped at…

Sorry, but you didn't give a single example. I don't mean "a context under which something might be conveyed non-verbally". Yeah, sure, this can happen everywhere. Not “can” happen everywhere. It does happen everywhere. I'm saying courting/dating in it's dominant form is unique in the way that non verbal signals and covert communication are supposed to be the primary mode of communication for one side (woman) while the man is expected to take full social responsibility for the actual approach. B…

I mean you could easily flip that around. Like what is so special about dating that it should require a “standardized initial interaction” instead of relying on subtle social cues like every other interaction? I guess it depends what you mean by “standardized initial interaction”. Can you clarify? Like I could make the argument that dating apps already do this to some extent (if you use them effectively and/or at least they were intended to). Matching on an app generally establishes that two peo…

No, most people successfully figure out how to interpret social cues of disinterest or boredom in other people. I think the problem is that for a lot of people, when they’re attracted to another person, their desire to engage tends to subconsciously override their ability to interpret and/or accept those signals.

I don’t see how a women being turned off “are always trying to disqualify a guy”. You’re assuming intentionality and motive. A woman being turned off by a guy she was interested in/considering didn’t want that to happen. She’s more likely to be disappointed than anything.

I refuse to believe guys are out here responding to women like that. Women can say “no” and reasonably expect to leave unharmed and not get verbally accosted. Yeah “I refuse to believe women’s words/experiences” isn’t generally gonna make women interested in you. In fact, that’s gonna be a huge turn-off to most of them. They overestimate the PROBABILITY that the worst things will happen, and hold all men accountable for the mere POSSIBILITY that these can happen when almost anything in is possib…

Really? Whenever I’ve encountered them, depending on the magazine (that’s often a factor), they’ve generally ranged from reasonable advice in a very simplified form to “attracting men/pleasing your man” advice. I’ve never seen any aimed at women that proves a red pill theory “right”, at least not without significant reaching. Like I don’t see “value yourself (ie. have a healthy self-esteem)” advice as red pill confirmation of “women are encouraged to be narcissists”. That’s generally advice that…

Well that’s totally fair then. You’re judging her as an individual. But there’s definitely a tendency to judge single moms/teen moms as a whole a lot harsher than single dads/teen dads. I mean just look at the way single moms are talked about and stereotyped compared to single dads.

I’ve seen it a lot. Absolutely not the majority, but increasingly common as time passes. Except when your roommate(s) is your best friend(s) of 10-20+ decades, it’s not remotely the same thing. The best and most successful marriages that I see are where the partners are also best friends. And realistically, the ubiquity of “dead bedroom” marriages or likelihood of low sex and/or sexlessness due to growing older or the responsibilities and stress of raising kids means that most marriages aren’t m…

Did you even read my comment? Nowhere do I say “not getting everything you want is a bad relationship”. I’d be pissed too if any partner of mine consistently didn’t put in an equal amount of effort into our relationship/lives, because that would feel disrespectful and unfair. Are they though? Judging by this thread and the billions like it, that doesn’t seem to be the case the vast majority of the time. I do think most people in normal, healthy relationships do “settle”, in that they’re willing to let go of their “ideal” for someone they can love. Though I don’t think I’d use the term “settle” because it implies disappointment. I think it’s more that most people are just pretty reasonable with their expectations and not expecting or holding out for a literally perfec…

What the fuck is the adult woman who chased after the older man then? Sounds like predator on predator action to me. If a woman is going to use you, then you might as well get one that isn't ugly. Weird how you assume all relationships are women “using” men or two people “using” each other. That explains a lot. Different people have different definitions of adult. It’s not just an arbitrary age number, but a level of maturity and experience. No hot mess 22-year old feels like a fully competent a…

Love how you assume I’m a woman because I disagree with you. Also my response is posted as two separate comments bc it’s too damn long. It also made me realize I’m getting way too hyperfocused on this and it’s not worth it. You mean feminist propaganda? And I did prove something - that women are hypocrites. Ah ok. But still, why are you/they hating on your cousin’s girlfriend for something she did at 18? It’s still kind of shitty. People make mistakes, especially teenagers, it doesn’t mean she hasn’t grown as a person since then. The fact that she actually had the baby and became a parent at that age is pretty notable, most 18-year-olds I know wouldn’t be able to handle that. Lol how have “studies” proven this? How did “studies” determine that men (or women) were with partners that they were “too good for”? On what basis were they rated? This sounds like nonsense. Men holding more diverse preferences or a wider range for who they’d fuck is not the same thing as who they’re actually attracted to or will seriously date/marry. All the studies that I’ve seen show that the vast majority of people date/marry other people they’re pretty close/comparable to on all metrics (l…

I’m so confused. “Technically overweight” but “still has an hourglass figure”? How? Women can’t selectively navigate the fat around their bodies anymore than men can, unless she’s wearing shapewear or whatever I guess. Is that what you mean?

Ok but…you’re assuming men can only have friends that are men. Until we can change society a lot more (I’d argue it’s already changing), why can’t men be friends with women, who (typically) already provide that support to their friends? Women are generally happy to befriend men, at least until years of experiences of every single male friend they’ve had trying to fuck them (IMO usually because, in providing that support, the male friend mistakes that support for romantic/sexual attraction becaus…

They were commenting on how celibacy/sex isn’t a survival need, not intimacy. You’re the one equating the two. Intimacy and deep emotional connections are absolutely a social need for humans. But those are not necessarily the same thing as celibacy/sex. The problem with this issue is that too many men can’t separate these things and understand that you don’t need to be fucking someone to have a deep relationship with them.

If it’s really about “the sexual impulse” then your analogy doesn’t work, because you can “satisfy/mitigate” that drive through masturbation. People that are hungry are starving because they can’t eat food and they cannot “satisfy/mitigate” that drive except by eating food. That’s why I suspect this issue isn’t actually about “the sexual impulse”, no matter what men say. It seems to be far more about intimacy and emotionally deep connections that too many men seem to only develop/have access to …

OK, so just because you've come to the conclusion that you're happy behaving asexually/aromantically, that means anybody who experiences any other drive or instinct or way of life is just wrong? You can be content without being happy. Like I’m content being single even if I’d be happy/happier finding “my person”. Yeah, sometimes I’m sad and/or lonely, but it doesn’t consume me because I do the work to not let it. It’s an active choice and required me learning better coping skills than I had befo…

They co-opted that term for themselves (it was coined by a queer woman for other people—mainly in her LGBTQ community—that were involuntarily alone like her, likely due to the difficulties of being/dating queer that hets—in general—don’t necessarily face to the same degree). You think women co-opted or invented the term “spinsters” for themselves, considering the societal baggage that term has?

I literally cannot believe how blind you are to your own bias. Hot take: abusive people attract damaged people and/or damaged people attract damaged people. Both men and women that were abused and/or in toxic environments growing up are attracted to and fall back into similar dynamics and patterns as adults because it’s all that they know. That’s also the decade men should choose if they want children or not. Men also have a “biological clock” and it’s about the same age as women—35. There’s a reason why sperm banks don’t accept sperm from men older than that. Go look it up. Once men hit 35, the quality of their sperm decreases rapidly each passing year. The older the sperm, the more likely the pregnancy will end in miscarriage, the more likely the baby will be born with neurological/developmental/physical disabilities and be more…

I think it’s more that they’re seeking male validation by being desirable to and “acquiring” women. I don’t think what women want or like or think matters to them at all. If it did, they’d actually listen to women when women talk about what they want and what they’re attracted to. But these men either don’t listen to or don’t believe women. And who do these men listen to and believe about what women want instead? Other men, because to them it’s other men’s opinions that matter.

That’s the most illogical aspect of the dating crisis—so many men trying to date women have these adversarial, competitive attitudes towards the very people they’re trying to attract. Like it makes no sense. How do they not get how off-putting that is? Who the hell wants to date someone that is actively combative and belligerent towards them? Is that just how they view and treat everyone?

It is harder to be a valuable man than a valuable woman. She just have to be thin and young and exist. Ah yes, it’s so easy for women to stop aging nowadays. The wonders of modern technology never cease to amaze me. Men have to do way more for that, so even if all men improved 10x, women would still go for the top of them... so it is pointless to "make better husbands" considering men are better than ever in history and still are not desired, men believe more in equality and respect women more t…

This is the most tone-deaf comment I think I’ve ever had the misfortune to read. You literally stripped all nuance away from every single issue here and actually thought you proved something. Want a man who provides? That's ok. Want a woman who takes care of the house? That's wrong. What did we “learn from the past” exactly? What should we be adapting from it? Because the main “reinvention” to relationships and love that’s taken place that I can see is that women are now equal to men. If that reinvention is what’s causing this crisis, then we need to seriously investigate why. I don’t think it’s because “most women find most men physically unattractive”. I think it’s because cultural mentalities are far, far slower to change than laws are, and too many men still absorb view…

Marriage is more of a utility to women then men realise. I've realised that men are the real romantics, and women are far more calculating in their actions. Women will fuck, and bare children to a man they don't find remotely attractive. It's all out of utility, a means to an end often. This is far more complicated than “women are calculating and heartless” or whatever you’re suggesting. Like, it was only a few decades ago that women still had to rely on men and marriage to survive, and thus wer…

Men keep correlating the rise in women’s mental health issues to everything from feminism letting women work to women being single, ignoring the fact that the rising mental health crisis is happening to everyone across the board. It’s much more likely that it’s due to most people not being able to afford children, a house/apt, and sometimes even basic necessities anymore due to compounding economic factors born from decades of unregulated capitalism. We now have generations of people saddled wit…

I mean, that’s kinda the issue though. Most men expect and/or don’t notice when the woman is made to do a disproportionate amount of domestic labor and/or childcare compared to him. This is literally a huge if not the main reason why so many women are opting out of relationships, even with otherwise decent men.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/10/23 07:48 PM

Because men and women rate what “good/average/decent” is differently. If a man’s personality is great all around but he doesn’t do any or even a fair share of the domestic labor and/or childcare, leaving it all to the woman even though they both work full time jobs…then she’ll probably rate the relationship a lot lower than he does. Yeah but an unfortunate amount of men take it much worse if it’s a woman that’s better than them, like it’s something completely unacceptable and an insult to his manhood and it emasculates him and…etc.

I doubt it has less to do with you being rated “average” and has way more to do with you referring to yourself as a “Geriatric GigaChad, Passport Advocate” (as in passport bros?) and you being fixated on rating yourself (and presumably others). Like that’s so many red flags it’s basically a communist parade, my dude. Like what stuck out to me most was that while you say you’ve gone on countless self-improvement cycles of “health, wealth, and meditation”, nowhere do you say that you attended ther…

“Marriage was one of the few ways women were distributed proportionally amongst men”. “Marriages was one of the few ways of assigning a woman to every individual man”. My dude, what are you arguing for here? Your language is damn creepy. Women aren’t an inanimate object or a resource “to be distributed”. They’re people with a right to agency. Yeah, in the past they were essentially sexually and reproductively enslaved/subjugated through laws + the institution of marriage, but I dk what your poin…

Men have a biological clock too, though, and it starts around the same age as women. Go google it. There’s a reason sperm banks refuse donations after age 35. The older the sperm, the more likely the pregnancy will end in a miscarriage, the more likely the baby will be born with neurological and/or developmental disorders and be at high risk for other illnesses later in life, and the more likely the pregnancy may kill both the mother and the child.

You gotta chop wood while smoking 3 cigars and loudly mansplaining your pseudo-libertarian philosophy about how society would be better if everyone was self-sufficient and lived in the woods.

Women absolutely go through this though. Men (and all of society) are ruthless when it comes to evaluating and critiquing and judging a woman by her looks. Women are generally held to much higher standards. On the one hand, that means that women invest a lot more time, money, and effort into learning how to make themselves as presentable/attractive as possible from early girlhood. On the other hand, if a woman doesn’t fit into the “traditional” definition of attractive, she’ll be relegated to a …

I’ll bite, since the other commenter got tired of you (I can see why). “Cunt” is literally defined as a vulgar curse word. Generally considered one of the worst, too. It doesn’t matter that it’s an endearment where you live. You’re on an online forum that leans very American-dominated and where you know you may interact with people from all around the world who generally very much don’t share your views regarding the word. You don’t get to act surprised when people don’t see the word the same wa…

I thought this was exredpill, what the hell are you doing here? Take your gender essentialist, pseudo evolutionary psychology elsewhere. Dude, you come off as paranoid and neurotic. Women aren’t constantly “testing you” and “your masculinity”. They don’t give a f*ck about you, unless you’re one of the people they care about. Women are just people looking for a person that they connect with and love to spend time with. Yeah, there are some women with outdated, toxic ideas about masculinity. There…

It’s interesting to me that autistic women in general don’t seem to feel the same way, nor seem to struggle with dating or friendships as much as autistic men. And I’m wondering why that is. Like for sure one factor is that because girls and women were so underdiagnosed for such a long time, they lived most of their lives being held to neurotypical standards and expected to conform in a way that boys and men diagnosed with autism weren’t. So they were forced to learn how to “mask/pass” better an…

I mean that’s the thing. Men like that DO hate women. They believe women are sex objects that exist for their gratification, thus they happily objectify female bodies. However, they also believe that women are inferior to men, so they despise those same women for “making” them need them/feel attracted to them. Their desire makes them feel like those women have power over them, and they hate that someone/something that’s “inferior” to them “dares” to have any kind of power over them. So they feel…
