Just because your parents don't love you doesn't mean that everybody's don't. I also don’t give fathers who actually parent their kids any thought at all, You literally don't give a shit. FUCK OFF!!

So you just hate men, children, and fatherhood. Got it. If you don't want to be a mom you shouldn't spend this much time talking about parenting.

Why aren’t fathers stepping up? I'm not sure if you are aware but you yourself are participating in a psychological operation to demotivate men. Literally, all of the bickering comments on this sub do everything to benefit foreign powers, corrupt forces and giving up and walking away. What man would want to remain a useful idiot in such a society? Who would want to step up to the plate and take one for the team? Men will gladly give up their lives and bodies for your cause if you even pretend to…

I don't know how you support the title of your post by the body. What spurs wonder in me and what I find terrible don't occupy the same space in my mind. The only positive example you illustrated was community care and child upbringing but the tone of this doesn't seem to be written towards anyone who wants to live in a mixed community with elderly folks and children and men and women happy together. I'm down for changing the narrative but there's gotta be at least a handful of people on board. Short kings rule, quiet is cool, dads are the best, etc. I dunno things could change pretty fast. (Considering this is all in our collective imagination.)

Step-dads are highly disrespected in our culture so any man who does feel that way and chooses that path will have an extra burden to shoulder on top of not taking the easy route.

As of 2022, single women own 58% of homes by unmarried Americans, compared to 42% for single men. I know this is stupid, but just to point out how far our culture has drifted, the English word "husband" is from Old English "house bond," literally, home owner. So in a way the language we are using presupposes certain things that are no longer true.

Grandma starts by writing "It was the night I slept with 14 men that I first started to try to work out how many partners I’ve been with. The truth is, I’m not sure." I had to stop reading there so I don't kill myself.

Yeah, I mean you can tell someone to shut up if they say racist things and they'll just go somewhere to say them. If you dig deep into why they randomly hate entire groups of people based on immutable traits, learn about their struggles and POV, and take a very *very* soft approach, that's the only way I've seen it defused. Hate comes from fear and anxiety, which stems from lived experience, and ignorance is what lets us project our anxieties and fears onto innocent third parties. This is a very…

I'm divorced. My ex-wife has tons of health issues which I am glad to no longer worry over. And I have no daughters, I don't intend to have any more children. I mean, it's painful for me to have to relay this because I am a really empathetic person. I give to charity. I care about people. Even above sister, I call her. But at some point, I can't let these things drag me down. I have to focus on myself. why I chimed in Q4M, I have a relevant POV, and there were no comments.

I know almost nothing about these and I grew up in a predominantly female household. I've always been curious about anything and everything. But after a while of being scoffed at, I decided you can keep your secrets then. I asked "what is this commercial for?" to a pads advert and the only answer I got was a dismissive sigh... Oh, and my sister does have endometriosis. Not my problem I guess.

Some men are more competitive than others; if they're really busting your balls, they're probably expecting you to dunk on them on something else. Bizarre example that I think kind of relates -- I noticed comedians who tell racist jokes tend to have more diverse friends. Sometimes humans bond through banter. If it's not your vibe, that's fine, too. Some members of society become philosophers, others become warriors. Or balding pot-bellied rabblerousers.

Why not? I had specific negative experiences at an impressionable age that broke my trust and I observed that it led me to pursue relationships that did further damage to my self-esteem. Guys have universally been more empathetic to my situation outside of 1-2 trustworthy counselors and a good friend. So actually, no, I am not blaming women as a class. I am blaming specific individual women.

The way child support should work is as a get-out-of-work free card for the mother and and a crippling burden for the father. If he abandons the family or gives up on life, that's by design.

Cool, I guess it's a difference of opinion then. For my part, I'm done with dating completely because I don't see any aspect of my life that could be improved with another woman along for the ride. And I'm not interested in sex, either.

Some women do really well being "one of the guys." Women who don't use femininity/romance as their channel of engagement around dudes. Another exceptional case: people you grew up with. But I think more often than not there are conflicts of interest.

Why not just call it "the system" then instead of 'patriarchy.' The in-group out-group double-hypnosis theory is straining to credibility and unproductive to any concrete action.

I'm just reading this thread and I'm confused if this misunderstanding is deliberate or not? It seems like you're playing that a man could say "I am looking for a woman who pays to take me out. She can pay to have the opportunity to try to convince me to like her" and that this would 1) be a rational opinion to hold and 2) this would work to his advantage in the long run. I think many people are rushing to escape someone they don't love and find it happening again and again because that one person is themself. This is youth fiction, but I think the Ender's Game quote lands: In the moment when I truly understand my enemy, understand him well enough to defeat him, then in that very moment I also love him. I think it’s impossible to really understand somebody, what they want, what they believe, and not love them the way they love themselves. In the same vein, it's i…

A corollary to this, as much as it is expressed as a put-down, the men saying these things are actually viewing it as equal treatment. And the reason these men want women to feel bad over being alone or unattractive, is because these same men have felt bad over being alone and unattractive for many years.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/25 02:12 AM

Quick question: Do you know what your personality type is or anything like that? You sound like a catch and I would love to know any hints for sussing out women like yourself. Or maybe I should just find a woman who works in counseling or something. I will say, I have seen that compassion in a professional setting from the best therapists I know.

Mature, intelligent, empathetic and compassionate individuals can choose to express love and kindness when it is right and necessary. Others? Probably not even within the realm of possibility. Not in a culture that publicly professes "me first." You need to be able to critically dissect and reject social conditioning to get past that.

I've always worn my heart on my sleeve. Maybe this is why my sisters and I have never been close or gotten along, even after decades. Anyway, I wouldn't change who I am to placate someone, not even my immediate family. And guess what? It's fewer Christmas cards I have to send. Psychologically, it holds water. Some fetishes emerge (or remain hidden) because of the experiences we have (or don't have). Honestly, I would have preferred my partner say, "I'm gonna bang this guy because I think he's hotter than you," than for her to lie to me for years and years while doing pantomime theater. And so I wonder, do I have a cuckold fetish? Maybe on some level I wished I did, because of what I've seen. I noticed that I was drawn toward role-reversal material as a young adult bec…

There's a certain nuance that is lost over time in communication. People learn by imitation so when someone starts out sarcastically saying something, another person may come to believe its true. I think especially younger people are more impressionable. Gotta think about the trends we set more seriously sometimes. Especially with how strong social feedback is and how great the amplification can be on the internet.

I scored near perfect on the ACT/SAT and I feel really, really, really really stupid most of the time. Usually when I ask myself "why do people do that?" or "why can't we get along?" but also when I look at my finances, personal relationships and my quality of life. This is to say... I don't really even want to argue any conclusion. I would simply like to believe that anything about life could improve some day. * One way we can do that is by trying to understand different points of view. One way…

While we do this, can we also improve the criminal justice system? If you are going to incorporate an Orwellian database of genetics, we should resolve the fact that the US has the most incarcerated individuals who have not had a trial. You misunderstand Gödel's Second Incompleteness Theorem. There are mathematical truths that have no proof, but can only be proven if you have a Turing machine that runs for infinite length of time. There are specific and measurable goals that men can take to improve themselves. Self-improvement is the best way to get better dating outcomes. There is really no benefit to offering exclusivity or commitment in the modern world. That's pretty much it.

? Being able to travel alone without fear? Yes, good point. Men are much more likely to be victims of violent crime wherever they go.

What's with these dudes larping as women to make their threads? Clearly, a western woman would not parrot TRP points like a frat-bro. Nice try though, gents.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 12:52 PM

Obviously men don't have to worry about period cramps or dying in childbirth, but pretty much every other thing you could be concerned about, men have worse outlooks than women.

It's not just aggression. With the sentencing disparity gap and being treated with kid gloves in the legal process, women lack awareness of legal ramifications for actions. In the original post, as described by the OP, the first actual crime was her assaulting a drunk man. If her boyfriend stepped in to play out whatever fantasy she had in mind, he could've spent more than a night in jail, apart from the risk of getting stabbed others have mentioned.

My Mom stays in touch, which I appreciate. That's about it. I like that my sisters have their lives put together. They make it look easy, because, really it is. My cousins are pretty normal as well. I'm single so I don't have a partner, but thinking of past partners, I really enjoyed the simple things. Trading music on a USB stick or playing Skyrim all afternoon, walking around to get burritos, going to the zoo. So: friendliness I suppose.

I made my first 3D video game when I was ten years old. I was working as a computer programmer before I had my driver's license. In college I played drums in a rock concert in a radioactive part of Japan. I've come way too far to be put down by the shitty circumstances I'm in caused by cowardly idiots.

I can actually explain that. I'm chronically single, not really a conventional guy, and after spending a couple hundred bucks on Tinder and Bumble and Hinge and all of those I couldn't even get a decent date or conversation. So when I started throwing money at OnlyFans models, the fact they treated me like a person really sucked me in hard and fast. I have a martyrdom complex as it is. My first wife has older boys and I helped her with legal trouble with her first husband. I guess first girlfrie…

⠀⠀⠀"I just want to have fun tonight," she said. Her long red hair covered the nape of her neck in a flowing silvery dress. She was luscious; her bright- eyes, young, darkened, cast about--for what she had not found, yet. Silver-ish blue and teal, the stainless-steel bar fountain, reflecting from her drinking glass, met her eyes as she finished her water. Setting it down, "and can I have some more ice, please?" she asked expectantly. The bartender nodded from down the side of the bar, drying mugs…

It is a hugely cerebral and emotional thing, yes. We have plans to get together in the next 7 months that involve international travel and new experiences for both of us. If I wanted it to work, short-term, I would have been on her doorstep with a boombox a long time ago, and she would have had to have bailed me out of jail by now. She's meaningful enough to me to do things the right way. And you can't go to Canada with any DUI's, so I'm on my best behavior.

Sure, I already have kids, so I'm not looking to have more right now. She has an extremely fast-paced career and I work hard as well. Best way I can explain it is... we both have a full Sundae already and just need that cherry-on-top. We are both young, as well, so there's ample opportunity on the horizon. More than that, we are old souls.

That seems to be the conventional wisdom, but we've been texting buddies for years and just now moving toward seeing each other in person. I just really love her presence in my life and try my best with things the other way. Honest, I've never met anyone like her. I don't think she's met anyone like me either. So I don't really worry about survival.

I met her online on a niche platform. We had a shared interest and began chatting right away, starting three years ago this month. I feel she is the one for me because we grow together and support each other through anything and everything. And I think she is my soulmate because thinking of her inspires me to live my best life, with or without her by my side. It's a really freeing feeling and not one I expected to find.
