The ironic thing about Hannah (the lead) is that she's played by the woman who writes, directs and pretty much runs the show; yet, she's totally portrayed as the most flawed and least sympathetic of the core cast. For better or worse, Girls is an extremely realistic story about twenty-something women, and all the emotion, self consciousness and indecisiveness that comes with that stage of life.
