Withholding sex does not mean always and forever. It means controlling when and how it happens. It does not mean he is going without release. Again, we are not talking about "feeling like not having sex", we are talking about choosing to deny your partner to control them.

I hear you. But this was a pattern from before the days when porn was so widely available. Iow, he was doing this before he was addicted to porn. He both used porn AND withheld sex as a weapon. He admitted as much to me. But I agree that porn is abuse, as well. Unfortunately, in today's climate, porn addiction can mask an underlying pattern of abuse that would exist even if porn didn't. I am glad you are free also. Onward and upward!

Oh, believe me, he is not my partner anymore. But you can also believe me that it was a systematic campaign of abuse. It was not just a porn addiction. And I guarantee you, I am not alone. https://psychcentral.com/blog/recovering-narcissist/2020/02/5-withholding-tactics-malignant-narcissists-and-psychopaths-use-to-torment-you#1 That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works. You need to be self sustainable to a certain degree in your life. This applies to your self esteem as well.…

Here is a great, short article about how abusive men can use withholding sex to control, demean, and abuse women. https://www.domesticshelters.org/articles/identifying-abuse/withholding-intimacy-can-be-abusive-too

I don't get out of bed (or into it) without an IQ of at least 150, a razor sharp sense of humor, and spiritual and emotional maturity that meets or exceeds mine.

LOL Okay fair enough. I don't remember the last episode or 2 very well. But you are right...just because he made some big changes does not mean he was above baseline.

All the men in this show lose a woman they adore because of low-value behaviors and all of them choose to grow and become much better men. Zooey Daschenel's character breaks up with Nick because he is so immature. When she goes back to him, he has written and published a book and is working on making it a series and owns the bar where he was once employed. The ensemble of friends hold each other accountable table throughout the arc of the show. One aspect of the show I really like is the celebra…

This is it, right here. We spend our lives hearing that we should be "nice" and that means giving people the benefit of the doubt. When we try to speak about what we see and what we know, there is a whole army of people to shush us and reprimand us for "assuming" that what walks, talks, and lies like a narcissistic duck is, in fact, a narcissistic duck. So we keep paying out that benefit-of-the-doubt rope no matter how wild the evidence gets. Because by now, we have ignored so much truth that we…

When will women wake up and learn that it is just no skin off a LVMs nose to offer you children, since he knows full well he will not be lifting a finger to parent them. It means nothing, sis.

Some people laugh when they are deeply uncomfortable. I have known people whose reaction to emotional discomfort is almost always to laugh. It can be enraging, but they aren't trying to be disrespectful. Maybe that is what was happening here?

I imagine for the same reasons they beg for anal. The only tightness there is from the sphincter. And add all the other unpleasantness...why bother? (Hint: it is more to do with power than pleasure.)

It's like because they want her so much, they hate her, they want to make her suffer. It's mindblowing. Some men perceive their attraction to a woman as control/power possessed over him, so he had to do everything in his power to regain the feeling of control he lost by being attracted to her.

Well said. It is unfortunate, too, because this means that women who really enjoy fashion or makeup, etc. are frequently misidentified as willing participants. It is why many men don't understand how women could find enjoyment from those hobbies as art forms, for their own sakes. "If she is dolled up, it is to signal me that she wants my attention."

And men know full well that if they value a woman and want to treat her right, they will spend money. So why all the crying when both sexes agree that paying for a women's dinner means he values her and not paying means he does not? The crying = "you caught us, still let us have access to you even when we don't value you as human people, you suck if you don't let us conquer and discard you like objects in a game!"

For our male lurkers: See, it is not about what 50/50 means to us, it is about what it means about YOU. We can pay or not pay, just like we do for ourselves and with our girlfriends. But we know that if you make us split from the jump that we are in for a lifetime of you nickeling and diming us to the grave. We reject 50/50 because of what it tells us about a future with you, not because we are trying to scam your broke behind.

This is not lunacy, lack of self-awareness, or projection. This is manipulation, pure and simple. That feeling of confusion when you read it is a tell-tale sign. This response is 100% designed to induce guilt, social discomfort, pressure, and back-pedaling. This tactic worked on his ex-wife (for a while, anyway...let us hope she is the ex because she leveled up) and he is hoping it will work on Juliana. Score one for our girl, who did not fell prey to his abusive nonsense.

That's a pretty big blood-red flag you're waving there, fella. Getting verbally aggressive with a woman you don't even know over her choice not to have casual sex? Oof, how embarrassing for you. These guys really out here acting like dating is about women debasing themselves however random men say in hopes of getting picked to get debased long-term. Pass.

"...respect the fact that he is a man and has a sex drive." Can we please finally put erase the excuse that men can behave like animals because "muh sex drive" *as if women don't have a sex drive too*? Yes, Brian, we enjoy physical intimacy too. Yet we aren't known for acting like it is the sole aim of life to achieve coupling. I wonder if you could learn something from that?

LOL! What a weak argument. He is literally suggesting that women only have bad experiences from good looking men. Or, wait...is he saying that only good looking men are drug dealers and cheaters? Hold on...he is saying that all ugly men are high value. No, wait, his argument is that our standards are too high. But only in the looks department. And our standards are too low, in the actions department. So we should expect more from good looking men. But less from ugly men. But we should give ugly …

"He said this is something he and his son had wanted to do for a long time" Ladies, if you have the stomach, can you please imagine a grown man talking to his son and dreaming together about the day they can get aroused together by treating some poor woman like a dog?

It just goes to show that the bar being so low has eroded our standards to the point that we are grateful for any measure of human decency in romantic relationships. It is hard to change our mindsets to continually hold the bar for how we are treated where it should be, but it is God's work. Good job shaking off this, as my grandmother used to say, sorry excuse for a fella.

That's right and it starts young. Do not allow people to tease your children...girls OR boys...about boyfriends and girlfriends as elementary students or pre-school...or I've even seen it directed at infants! It normalizes early dating for kids. It sends them the signal that they should be interested in the other sex romantically and they internalize that message very well long before they even understand it. By the time they get to middle school and start noticing each other, they are primed to…

A man who treats you badly isn't treating you badly because you're somehow the one person in the world not good enough for him to treat well, or because you've fallen short in some way. That is something that should be obvious, but which isn't. Where do we get the idea that a LVM is acting a certain way because of US? Especially when we see him behaving poorly in other circumstances. Even if he is charming to others, he is doing underhanded, unethical, or otherwise dishonest things.

This is a great list of reasons for those who are confused by the popular rhetoric that it is "just a piece of paper". It certainly is not. Like any contract, it is protection. A legally recognized marriage is the only way to protect women in long term relationships economically. Even if you do not plan to procreate, pregnancies happen and sometimes people change their minds. If you are legally single, but in a relationship with the father, you do not have the same legal protections regarding mo…

You guys. "...he finally agreed to try sitting when he peed, but for some reason it's still not helping fully." He is 100% is doing it on purpose. Either he is lying about sitting down (likely) or he is, what? sitting down and STILL dribbling on the floor...? Imagine weaponizing your urine to get your way.

Free stuff. Free maid/cook. Just taking advantage of what's available. Simple and enraging as that. But also he is trying to sleep with his female roommates. Some girls get turned on by feeling like they are winning over other girls. Girl need to set some hefty boundaries. I wonder where her limit is. "My bf locks me in the closet unless he needs me to cater a large party. I tried to explain to him that I don't like living in a closet and I had to take out a second mortgage on my house (that he …

This is why I hate it when people start a conversation about making plans with, "What are you doing X day?" I never, ever answer with my plans. Because even if I have a White House dinner to attend that day, I want people in my life to become accustomed to getting straight to the invitation. I do not want to be painted into a corner if I say "nothing" and they now think that means I should jump at the chance to do something with them. I guard my energy and down time vigorously. I will not put my…

This guy, who was a bit older than I was interested in to begin with, supplied me with some specifics of research he had done years ago that matched one of my stated interests (honestly the only reason I even engaged in a short conversation with him). He told me he had lost his wife of 30 years and had four grown children. The research he told me was specific enough to find his name easily. And his wife's obituary. And the fact that she had been deceased for FOUR DAYS. FOUR DAYS You guys, they h…
