I still don’t see the ad as a mischaracterization or an attack. Show women being catty and terrible to each other, show them shaming each other for their looks, all the nasty aspects of femininity. And show how they can help curb it, just like this ad. If it was a personal attack, it would be because I was guilty of the things it calls out. And that, historically, a lot of that bad behavior has been excused or explained away with old worn out phrases like “boys will be boys” that do nothing to address the problem.
