I’m a SAHM but have my AA and have worked before we had kids. I would absolutely not tolerate this behavior. I’m not afraid of hard work, whether it’s in the home or outside. Take this fear and face it head on, it should light a fire in you to succeed.

Learning to listen. My husband works in a field I don’t really care much about. But I’ve made it a big priority to listen and engage when he talks about work or his day. Men want to feel important and heard.

You know I’ve never thought of that. Husband is fearful of the unknown when switching jobs in general. He currently works in a manufacturing setting that pays close to the top in his field (w/ Company J) We’ve had other opportunities for making more money that he’s taken years ago, with my cheerleading in his corner. When those opportunities dried out, he went back to Company J.

My husband is the same way. I’ve been doing our finances for 19+ years. I find it fun and not a chore. He even trusted me with growing our investments in our brokerage account.

No idea. OP listed that as her rent for a 1 bedroom apt. Maybe Midwest or Southern US? Tracking and making a budget will show them where their money is disappearing to.

I think the same thing. Look into townhomes. That was our first home purchase when we got married at 19/22. Husband made $34k after taxes, insurance, and 401k during the recession of 2008-2012 for a family of 3. It was rough but you can do it. Now he brings in $60ish and we’re able to save enough to max out two Roth IRAs and invest in a brokerage account. If you have no debt, $500 rent, and restaurants twice a month, you should be saving $3k easily a month.

I think the best thing is to start with mini goals. Of that $58k, how much are you saving? Do you have enough for 20% down payment? Also, look for starter homes in a good school district. Do NOT try to keep up with the Jones’ who make Dr/ Lawyer money. Your reality is a lot different than theirs is.

Never. My husband is a very laid back and happy guy, he rarely cries. We’ve been married 18 years and I can only think of two occasions off the top of my head that he cried. Once when we got married and I was walking down the aisle to him. And the other, 3 or so years ago when his father flat lined twice at the hospital and was in ICU.

Target has some really cute dresses. I recently bought this. I’ve seen some longer dresses on sale there, too.

I can see this happening a lot with my generation in the Christian church. Lots of single 30yo women want the cream of the crop when they themselves aren’t the best.

Maybe not the city but it does in some of the suburbs.

I think it depends at what age you’re looking at. My husband and I started dating young and got married when I turned 18 (He was 21). We had the same values, morals, financially equal, inexperienced sexually, and most importantly Christ was at the center of our marriage. Still a great team after 2 kids and 17 years of marriage. Just remember the older you get the more life experiences you and/or your possible wife will have. Find a conservative church and become active there. There are a lot of …

I was 18 and husband was 21. It’ll be 17 years for us this August.

I don’t think it was covered (so correct me if I’m wrong): Transparency. Does she hide things from you? Whether it be conversations with male coworkers/friends, about who is texting her, guards her phone, secretive about her past, etc. Is she willing when married to give you access to her phone or social media accounts. If not, why? Maybe I’m out of the loop since I’ve been married for close to 17 years but I think it’s important. My husband and I have no problems sharing phones or telling each …

See if there’s room for some potatoes, carrots, celery in the slow cooker. You may be able to serve some veggies like that. Another idea that I’ve done is a mashed potato bar. Include items that you normally have on a baked potato (sour cream, butter, chives, cheese and bacon bits). That has been a big hit with larger crowds. It’s also easy to make a large pot or two of mashed potatoes.

Have you made brisket before in the slow cooker? I would honestly go with something you know will turn out. If you’re looking for an easy side dish, cornbread pudding (minus the paprika) has always been a hit when we have brisket or pulled pork. What about an easy pasta salad (cooked pasta, sliced olives, sun dried tomatoes with some Italian dressing or pesto).

"The thing is, she has stated, on multiple occasions, she's waiting for God to reveal to her who she's suppose to be with and she won't even kiss anyone until that someone has been revealed." I've heard this a lot within my female christian friend group. I never really understood it. Did she say this early on or recently? Has she been praying and fasting for this relationship in order for God to speak to her? I'd be direct in your next conversation with her. If you see her as a potential wife, l…

From my experience, I’m glad I married young. I was 18 and my husband was 21. We had a good foundation in Christ before we married (but we were in no way perfect or sinless) and we grew and supported each other from the moment we said I do (16 years ago). Also, when you’re younger, you accept change better. You’re not set in your ways. It’s easier to compromise when neither of you know any different or can compare with other relationships.

My husband is the same way. In some situations I can have a negative reaction and DH finds a way to lighten up the mood.

I don’t see why you can’t be both. I’ve always thought the concept of D/s is based on a Christian marriage. Ephesians 5:22-33

I couldn’t agree with you more. The media is also portraying him as an angry man and short tempered. YES! I would be the same if someone were dragging my name and reputation through the mud. If he was calm in answering the questions, they’d call him arrogant and what not.
