That's very true, it's in no way okay and she should be prosecuted by the law, I just think leaving out the word "statutory" by this article and sometimes other articles leads to a not entirely accurate portrayal. We really don't know what happened, it definitely should not have. But when I saw rape in the title I thought of a violent crime, only to be met with the words "had sex" inside the article.

I see your point, but I feel like the age of 16 is not a good example of this situation as most people have reached an advanced stage of maturity at this age. Many states in the United States have age of consents at the age of 16, and most countries in Eastern Europe have age of consent laws at 16 or lower.

The article refers to them "hav[ing] sex", so it's the latter unfortunately. I really wish we'd start calling cases with a slightly underage participant in a voluntary sexual act something other than "rape". Sure by law the age of consent deems it rape, but when someone is so close to the age of consent and it was clearly consensual (outside the definition of the law), the word rape is too harsh and kind of misleading. In no way do I support underage sex, but when you hear the word rape that see…
