She agreed to this by getting married. Now she wants to violate the terms of that agreement. Anything you buy when married doesn't belong to you, by law it belongs to both partners equally. The money was his just as much as it was hers. In a divorce, it's the court's job to divide assets among the soon-to-be-divorced couple, if she disclosed her winnings, she most probably would have gotten at least half. She decided to lie to the court in order to keep the winnings, which is fraud by the way, and the court chose (or there's a specific law) to punish her by giving him all the money.
