Agreed, but if said with the right tone, it works.

I still lift, and I'm finding that lifting (or exercise) is becoming an increasingly rare topic among guys I know, but talking about how many hours worked and how expensive it is to maintain house/car/etc is a favorite topic of conversation. Look at some of the wealthy guys who get so much admiration in the public eye like Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, even Donald Trump -- all of these guys are way out of shape.

You cannot take your luxury car everywhere you go that your body does. Get this - I once mentioned something like this to a girl about all the guys with great cars, but they can't bring that car into the nightclub. She agreed and told me she actually met a not-so-good looking guy once in a club who within the first minute of conversation with her pulled out pictures of his car.

I would respond with something like: "Thanks, but there's a lot of guys smarter than me" (or "better at this job than me" or "better people in the world than me") What this does is acknowledge the compliment to be true (by saying "Thanks") but also shows that you're modest, not egotistical.

And on top of all that, Paul was "the cute one". He had everything else going for him, so of course he's going to think "all you need is love".

Eventually I may get some kind of sattelite radio like Sirius/XM, but for now I'm stuck listening to regular radio during my commute in my car. (thats the only time I ever listen to this stuff) But the point is that millions of people are hearing these songs. Millions of males are hearing this song and getting a subtle message that this is the way they should behave. And millions of females are getting the message (expectation) that this is the way males should behave also.

OkCupid put out a graph and basically men's idea of attractive went up predictably as women's attractiveness went up (on a scale from 1 to 100%). But for women, men started becoming attractive at the 30-10% mark. There are a lot of example posts with this knowledge littered throughout TRP. Anyone have a link to the graph? I tried to search Google and OK Cupid, but no luck so far. Edit, its here near the bottom: women rate an incredible 80% of guys as worse-looking than medium Otherwise, what eve…

I don't look like a Viking, I was blessed with a masculine voice Anyone else think of George Takei? Otherwise, my wife has been fairly negative since I kicked my lifting into gear within the last year. The usual complaint is something along the lines of "There's a million things to be done around here and you're being self indulgent with your workouts, which I never get to do" Never mind that I do a TON of stuff around the house. Never mind that I played sports in high school and have worked out…

This somewhat ties in with an earlier post of mine exploring why women seek so much validation. It's a survival mechanism from evolution. What happened here with this car accident was that with an eminent crisis, her basic instinct was to deflect blame. It kind of fits in with evolution.

I also wanted to point out that if you search Reddit for the word validation you'll find the top 3 subbreddits with it are /theredpill /raisedbynarcissists and /relationships. Think about that.

So I think the jewelery and that kind of shit is all about internal jocking between women. That's right, there's many articles out there that claim women dress up to impress other women though here's an article which claims it's all about Mate Guarding which might make sense. (but it's directed at other women, it's not about impressing men)

There are actually times when people say "I'm sorry" to me and I reply with "That's ok, No need to be sorry" and it catches them off guard.

I've completely ingrained it in myself that whenever I accidentally bump into someone or get in their way, I say "excuse me" (which is the proper thing to say) whereas so many people say "I'm sorry". Otherwise, I've often had women in my life DEMAND that I apologize for doing something they percieved as wrong, and in those situations it seems like it's more a form of validation that they're seeking. (and I've gotten pretty good at NOT apologizing, but rather explaining my point of view)

Body is looks. Facial aesthetics you can't change Working out with an emphasis on minimizing body fat will do a lot of good for your face (getting fat off your face will help bring out features)

I was too busy to reply to this thread yesterday, so I'll just reply to the post that got the most points, but thanks to everyone for all the good thought provoking stuff. OK, Chad is just a meme. He's a fictional person made up to encapsulate a certain stereotype. If you do a search within Reddit or out on Google, you'll find he's definitely described as an asshole/jerk/douchebag (fictionally). Doing an image search on the name brings up pics of guys with NFL/BB proportions and a good face. The…

When men do this it's usually calling breaking stones or ball busting. Guess which part of the body testosterone is produced?

Some were inherently not true. Been there. The only truely bad annual review of my career was from a female supervisor who made up all sorts of crazy shit. I escalated it to HR only to find the HR rep assigned to my complaint was a bit of a feminist too. I left that company and they later eventually collapsed in the recession anyway.

It wasn't mentioned in the original post, but is the boss male or female? Was the interview done by a male or female? I have found in my working career that dealing with males is mostly straightforward - you confront them about problems head on. Do your best to keep your T high by lifting and eating right everyday. (T helps with the type of confrontation you would typically get from males) Or is it a female? That's a different set of negotiation problems. At least you're hanging out in TRP to le…

That's correct, T plays a major part in a persons ability to ignore fear and be assertive. While men obviously have more T on average than women, but both sexes have T of various degrees, which is why you can have assertiveness or non-assertiveness in people of both sexes. But look at Pao's background on Wikipedia Her father, Young-Ping Pao, was a professor at New York University's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences Pao graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor's degree in Elec…

Nature has not destined them, as the weaker sex, to be dependent on strength but on cunning; this is why they are instinctively crafty, and have an ineradicable tendency to lie https://ebooks.adelaide.edu.au/s/schopenhauer/arthur/essays/chapter5.html

Those numbers seem to be based on surveys. Can we really trust the women who answered those to be entirely truthful? How many of those women had affairs but via whatever hamstering didn't really consider something to be an "affair". It's also well known that women file more for divorce, which IMO is being "unloyal" to the wedding vows.

Because her entire existence depends on her social standing and her ability to manipulate men. I can understand why a woman would seek validation from men, but why do women also seek so much validation from other women too? So much so, that at times it seems like a woman's ultimate goal in life is to be the adoration of all her girlfriends. (all those expensive clothes, jewelry, handbags, nails, hair, etc is almost ALL about impressing other women, not men) How did evolution do this?
