This is the hardest thing to really understand. Having loved her, and spent so much time with her, and gone through so much together it feels almost inconceivable that she is now my adversary, my opponent. How could she do this? It doesn't seem possible. It's a very hard lesson to learn, but it is absolutely essential to your future happiness (and hers, strangely, but that's another story) that you understand this completely. The world has changed. She was an ally; now she's an opponent. And a v…

It's not about "looking like an insane wack job", it's about denying the person you were when you finally reached your limit. If you go back, you'll inevitably reach that limit again. This too shall pass. It's the journey you're on. Don't turn back.

It's basically impossible for a man and woman to live together forever. Which is why it's a legitimate miracle when it happens. But it does. I have 3 brothers, all of whom have been married for at least 30 years, all have grandchildren, all will (almost certainly) stay with their wives forever. Edit: I guess they have the advantage of getting married 30 years ago when the feminist influences were a little more restrained.

Oh man, sorry to hear this. Must have been a huge shock, probably still is. I'm in Australia so I don't know much about family law over there (assuming you're in US) but if you were here I'd say #1 DON'T MOVE OUT. You're entitled to live there with your daughter, your wife can move out if she doesn't like it. If you move out that could (at least, it could here) be interpreted as you acknowledging that you're not a good husband/father. #2 You're going to have to set up/build up your personal boun…

I'm with you on this. It's been an incredibly painful process and we have 2 small kids that she doesn't let me spend much time with. But through it all, the amazing silver lining, is I don't have to live with her any more :)

I know what you mean. Through all the strife and fighting now that she's gone it feels - literally, physically - like she's still in my heart. It's actually frustrating that I can't get her out of there! The best advice I have is Simply try not to think about her (sounds silly but it works for me). Maybe give yourself an hour every day to allow yourself to reminisce, then drop it and get on with other things. Don't imagine getting her back. You can't. Maybe she'll come back to you one day but th…

You cannot begin to imagine the side that's just "in pain" - devastated, hurt, overwhelmed, not being able to even comprehend what is happening to me. I can. It's a horror show. Remember to breathe, and take care of yourself.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
