It's horribly deppressing. I'm sure if the roles were reversed the husband could easily say the same thing about the wife. That must be incredibly difficult. IIRC, Amerage American on an individual basis is like $42.5k, and average BASE salary for a police officer is $56.2k $13,700 is a decent-sized split.
