Because the tech mindset is usually that of "I can save and/or make the world a better place" and things that make them feel overly virtuous are generally going to be gravitated towards. They see themselves as the "future of <fill in the blank>". There's also a lot of social currency to be gained in thinking this way, and people in tech can be very preoccupied in this. Source: used to work in tech.

Yeah they exposed a bunch of member information. And most of these 'hookup' sites are all scams anyway with tons of fake female accounts. Usually just dudes sorta posting their pictures online for each other to see lol
