0	Biggest game changer for me Yeah, sorry - I wasn't claiming to have gained 40lbs of pure muscle, it's definitely a mixture but I'd say 70/80% is muscle, like OP. It's pretty hard to tell because I never properly measured bodyfat % before I started bulking. EDIT: Also, it's not impossible, that's bullshit. Compared to what's possible I've had a slack arse 18 months. If you want to bulk, find your required calorie intake/day for maintenance, and start by adding 500 calories on top of that. Get at least 1 gram of protein/pound of target bodyweight, fill the rest in with carbs and fats, the ratio of which is more or less up to you. You might like 40P/40C/20F. You might like 40P/30C/30F.
