Lookit. Before I wisened up and turned my life over to the Lord, I was living in sin with a woman who I thought I wanted to marry. We were together for almost 5 years, living together for most of it. Wedding was broke off 2 months before when she told me she cheated on me. I, being Cap'n Save-A-Ho with a serious case of ONEitis, forgave her and told her if she wanted to stay that we'd work on it. Three years (of my life that I'll never get back) later, I'm kicking her out for cheating on me for …

Covert contracts. Lack of outcome independence. Failure to lead. Beta. Read the sidebar. And stop being a bitch.

I was going to say all of this, but you beat me to it.

I like the "designer drug" metaphor. I have come to see RP as a toolbox: there are universal truths and methods, but every woman requires different tools and different application of those tools at different times. Some days she's all about comfort shit testing. Other days she's all about fitness shit testing. Some points in her life she needs AF, other points more BB. The point of RP isn't to give you a magic formula to follow. RP is knowledge of how The Game is played, and every man needs to f…

Agreed. When I delegate something, I care about the result not the way it was achieved, unless the way it was achieved is counter to something more important. Example: kids not eating the food they're given. At mealtime, I eat my food. My wife makes sure the kids eat. Now, if the kids fuss about their broccoli, it's up to make sure they eat it. I trust that how she makes that happen doesn't go off on some weird path like "5 M&Ms for every bite!" because we have already discussed and agreed upon …

It basically shows that whatever she is doing and trying to get out of you is working. Agree 100%. When my wife is pushing a button (not much anymore, but she’ll still shit test on occasion) I cock my head to the side, raise an eyebrow, let her finish, and just go, “Really?” and walk off and ignore her. Oh, she’ll try to chase me down to continue trying to get me to engage. I’ll find something that needs done around the house (empty trash cans, unload the dishwasher, etc) and start doing it and …

Her response was to tell me she is feeling suicidal. Stop right the fuck there. So how would you tell between manipulation and true mental illness? Call the bluff. “You’re suicidal? Then I’m taking you to the ER.” If it’s a true, genuine, serious mental problem, then it needs true, genuine, serious immediate medical help. Grab the keys and stuff her in the car, drive her to the ER. If she’s full of shit, then she’ll stop you before you can get out the door. Buying the “I’m suicidal” line pulls y…

That’s in-process. I’m estimating it will take 1-2 years to double my current salary.

I delivered the "your loss" stuff with a smile and a laugh. I figured that walking out (a la Dread Level 4 which BPP pointed out I was doing wrong) would be more along the lines of coming across pissed off or butthurt. Am I wrong here ?

Here's where I fucked up DL4: I got involved with a bunch of out-of-home activities and groups, stuff where afterwards a bunch of us men would go to a bar and I'd be home "whenever". I thought being busy outside the home, imparting soft dread, was enough. I missed the "if she says no, fucking LEAVE" memo. Doh.

Good points. Never thought about the "rewarding bad behavior after a hard no" angle. Usually I just go back to doing what I was doing. But all of a sudden just saying "I'm going to the store" and leaving for a few hours would be a jolt for her.

Forgot to point out that before unplugging, while I was fully immersed in the beta BP universe of asking, whining, and negotiating, she would never, ever initiate. Hell, why would she? I was a whiny fat fuck. Since unplugging, her IOI and initiations are very new and very positive.

When she initiates, it's always in the bedroom. She has made sure "all the conditions are right" for her to "be comfortable" (lighting, door shut, kids doors are shut), then she'll say something like "are you tired?" with a smile. For comparison this is the same woman who (before we were married) would do shit like by kissing me hard and tear off my pants in the kitchen. I'll initiate wherever, however. If the kids are occupied, I'll grab her hand and start dragging her to the laundry room while…

They are both correct. But you're assuming that she says yes every time I initiate, which is 4-5 times a week.

I read this somewhere else, but I forgot it. Thanks for the reminder. As stubborn as she is (see my Saint Bernard comment below) that might be a 2000ft rope though, haha. Might need to upgrade to a 2500 diesel.

Are you gaming her? More importantly, are you spending fun time with her? Yes. I’m playful, I tease, do shit like drop an ice cube down the back of her shirt, mess with her car as if she were my little sister, etc. It honestly sounds like she has a pretty strong frame and she doesn't really want to leave it. Oh yes. And then some. She’s more stubborn than a Saint Bernard. (If you’ve had one, you know what I’m talking about: “What? Okay, yeah, I heard you. I understand what you want. I’ll eventua…

“I am the prize” was one of the biggest takeaways from Pook. And I’ve been living that mindset for almost a year now. Can I imagine someone hotter, younger, etc etc etc? Sure. I get your point. However, without turning this into a religious debate, I’m of the belief that everyone is made for a certain place, for a certain time, as part of a bigger plan. I also believe that women are made for men. So if I were born in Russia, there would be a different “soul mate” made for me there. That said, I …

Heh. Mowing the grass is one of the things that is a good example of me-then vs me-now. Me-then: Right after we got married we got a house. Weekends were “clean up and work on the house” days, like most couples. I’d want to mow the lawn and do yardwork first. Wife would want to clean inside first. I’d fail the shit tests by arguing about it for an hour every week, going round-about with “what was more important” and “who got to go first last time”, etc. There was constant tension, bargaining, co…

The rule of thumb that I read numerous places is for every year of beta-dom marriage, expect to spend 1 RP month unfucking it. You’re married for 15 years, "sliding down the slope into betadom for much of that time” you say. So expect about a year and a half total time before you’ve reversed course. Expect probably another year after that making up lost ground. I’ve been married about as long as you. I took the pill about a year ago, and the first 6 months were rocky as fuck. I was the proverbia…

The first step in unplugging is to reach down between your legs and reacquaint yourself with your balls. This is known as “owning your shit.” Basically, it means you need to STEP THE FUCK UP and realize that YOU ARE THE PROBLEM because you forgot what it means to be a man. You forgot that you need to take charge, take initiative, and in general stop being a whiny pussy. The second step is to READ. Not ask questions first, READ. If you can’t do this, go back to step 1. Because if you would read "…

I'm in the same boat. I unplugged about a year ago. Was rocky at first, lots of "we need to have a talk" shit. Now I'm at the point where about 15% of the time she'll just follow, 50% of the time she'll follow but cautiously (like "okay, I'll follow you but I could bail at any moment and I'll question you the whole way"), and the remaining 35% of the time she'll shit test the hell out of me. My biggest problem is not getting pissed off when she doesn't follow. She calls it giving her "Manson lam…

Dude. Other people have answered your question. They wrote up the answers to "what is a..." and "why does she...", organized them into things called "chapters", and put these into a thing called a "book". WE don't want to take the time re-typing shit someone else did. It is a waste of time for us to constantly answer the same questions from lazy-ass beta noobs. Stop whining. Be a man. Read the books.
/r/askMRP01/05/16 12:02 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
