Study: Does Apologizing Work? An Empirical Test of the Conventional Wisdom - "however, liberals and females were much more likely to say that he definitely or probably should have faced negative consequences for his statement when presented with his apology."I prefer to thank people: Thank you for telling me how that affects you. Or Thanks for offering me the chance to help you with that but I'm going to do something else instead. ( I do that at work sometimes if it is voluntary overtime.) Shows empathy or understanding without an apology or responsibility for someone else's feelings. Sort of a Jedi mind trick if they're looking for an apology. Later they may realize they didn't get one. | /r/TheRedPill | 08/05/19 11:59 AM
Own Your Shit Weekly - May 07, 2019So I'm in Canada. My rental property mortgage is deductible (interest to earn income that you'd later pay tax on). My personal house was not. I paid off my home, the rental is a much lower priority. I'll pay into my retirement and kids Uni funds first. I didn't know how it worked there. This likely makes no sense to our American friends who I think can deduct all interest, could be wrong. The point is just to be smart with your money. Know the rules, details matter. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 07/05/19 01:54 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - May 07, 2019To go into dork mode on you here, is the interest tax deductible on your mortgage and but not on your house where you are? It may make sense to pay your house down first if so to save on taxes. Check your rules - I have property in Canada and the US and they differ. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 07/05/19 12:40 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - April 30, 2019I'm here to make myself accountable. To remind myself that the road never ends, I've seen some vistas, but I'm not at the destination. I'm here to find new goals. Maybe my problems seam minor, certainly I wouldn't trade with anyone. I caught shit for even mentioning retirement at 46, but the plan is to have FU Money and then I can decide when I want to pull the pin or take the next challenge on my own terms. Right now I'm making hay while the sun shines. I'm having fun and making money. What's n… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 03/05/19 01:26 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - April 30, 2019All solid, thank you. To be clear, the goals I surpassed were career/ financial. As for lifting, I've never stopped, but I need to ramp it back up. Sometimes the injuries are real. I run a lot of sprints and if you pull a hammy for real, or a groin, or an IT band, you can't ignore it. The trick is to work around it and when it's healed, get back to the hard work and make sure the flexibility is where it needs to be so it doesn't happen again. I know a solid body gets hurt less, so it's a matter … | /r/MarriedRedPill | 03/05/19 01:19 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - April 30, 2019Thank you. You are correct. I elaborated above to SBIII's response. I'm going to the gym...right...now. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 02/05/19 12:56 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - April 30, 2019Very insightful, hitting home on several points about mission. Exceeding my youthful goals is a double edged sword, and I'm not ready for the rocking chair yet. I'll examine my excuses and find ways to get it done. For lifting, I'm plateaued, and have tried mixing it up to shock my muscles. I puss out due to minor injuries - shoulders (BP), low back (DL), hip tightness, knee (SQ past 90 degrees). Most recent BP I did my body weight 175x8, DL 225 x8, SQ - I only do front squat for high reps at ab… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 02/05/19 12:54 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - April 30, 2019Hello gents I'm a 46 yo male. 5'11" 177. Not sure my body fat, but I have some definition. My doctor says to keep doing what I'm doing, but realizing how fat the average AFC is and that half of them are fatter than that means the bar is pretty low. Gym/Fitness - I still play flag or touch football once a week on average. With age power and flexibility drop off, so I'm not as fast as I used to be but still have fun and enjoy being with the guys, being a leader in my way. I usually get in to my ba… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 01/05/19 02:47 PM
