Misogyny: disdain, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women So, broader and more complex of a definition than you suggest. Multiple studies have shown that members of the military and law enforcement officers have higher than average rates of domestic battery in their homes, so are you sure thats where you wanna go with this?

I’ve never seen anyone run face first into the point so hard and not get it. Yes, stereotypes are at play here. That’s the age old misogyny some, like me, want to be rid of. We didn’t misunderstand anything. We see and hear very clearly and want it to change. And by the way, all the “men are expendable weapons meant to be shipped off to war” crap is part of the culture of toxic masculinity that folks like this politician are fighting against.

That’s apples to oranges. Your examples involve a predator who is actively doing harm in a specific area, with the assumption of a return to normalcy after they are apprehended. London police just said women shouldn’t go out after dark if they want to remain safe in general. The fact that “advice” like that is considered standard, or that this sub is outraged over the proposed curfew but sees nothing wrong with the police issuing a statement saying women should stay inside after dark is kinda th…

It’s now sitting at 85% upvoted, so should we make a post about how people care more about men’s issues than women’s, or maybe just stfu? Edit: the percentage of upvotes depends on which of several identically worded posts, all made in the last two days, that you check. JFC, OP, were you just shitposting till you got the results you wanted?

The frustration comes from how often blame for a crime like this is shifted to the victim(what was she wearing, why was she walking alone, how much did she have to drink, etc). Women are routinely told about the things they need to do to protect themselves from men. This idea of a “male curfew” was born from that exasperation, saying instead of making potential victims stay in, let’s make the potential attackers stay in instead.

That is the reaction it’s supposed to generate. Police responded to a murder by suggesting women stay home after dark. We should be saying, “how is that something anyone could possibly come up with.” Instead of standing with women and demanding more from the police, this sub is crying about a nonexistent perceived threat towards men.

It isn’t.

No. Of course it isn’t. In response to a woman being killed, police suggested that women should stay inside the home after dark. This male curfew was suggested specifically to illicit the type of response that it is. Ideally, it would make men see how outrageous it is for police to suggest such a thing for women, but as usual everyone this sub missed the point. Edit: typos

Right?? It almost has to be intentional.

If you truly can’t see the difference, then celibacy is the right choice for you.

When did she show she wanted to have sex??

“Penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object...” OK, well the dude was going down on her, and even if penetration had not yet occurred, his intent was very clear. I’ll never understand why some men are so quick to defend rapists. That’s a really strange hill to die on.

Let’s make sure we agree on what was shown. She asked “what are you doing” over and over again. When she “woke up” and asked “what are you doing?” they stopped. Right?

Sorry to hear you’ve been falsely accused. How far did it go? I experienced that a long time ago in high school, but it wasn’t reported to law enforcement, it was more of an attempt to sully my reputation with some shared friends, I suppose. They were all in the process of raping her. Again, I’m not a fan of vigilante justice, but this is a movie we’re talking about, so...meh?

Alright, so if you were just acting out of kindness, what changed? Are you just more cynical overall? Have you sworn off helping drunk people entirely, or just women? How does this movie reinforce that time has changed? It seems centered around the idea that predatory men are rarely, if ever, brought to justice for their crimes. And while I I concede that vigilante justice is not the answer, do you not consider rapists being punished for their actions a good thing? Considering the nature of the …

A woman praying on rapists is why men aren’t seeking relationships? I don’t see the connection.

Just curious, what do you feel they owed you for helping them get home? And, would you ever help a man get home if he obviously needed assistance?

I came looking because a nephew recently made some comments that concerned me. He told me about mgtow(my first time hearing of it). I’m trying to get a feel for the group and see if it’s something he should be a part of.

I think the first time I saw this sub was actually the original mgtow rather than 2. Some of the stuff I read in that sub was downright toxic

What makes a vagina “low quality” because it’s had more than 9 dicks in it?

Considering the reputation of male college students, especially those involved in fraternities, would you give the same advice to a woman you cared about(sister/plutonic friend) concerning men who lived at college?

Earlier today. And it isn’t some rare, freak occurrence. Roughly half of my friends are women. I have a very good relationship with my sister and my mom. Here’s another honest question: If you have negative experiences and toxic relationships with all, or even a vast majority of women, what’s more likely: 50% of the world’s population is incapable of healthy adult relationships, or one individual needs to focus on growth and self improvement?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
