People actually meet up and try to form a a relationship? Im 29 and it's dry as a bone out there. I gave me up.

29m can confirm, last time I had sex was in 2017. It sucks but it's not something im consciously worried about. Still on Hinge , Bumble and Tinder (so many bots) I live on my own and no shame I really don't have any friends. Some days it gets dark, but I bounce back. I just never really had my moment with a girl. And every first date is the last, but if you look up some of Bobby Rios videos on YouTube that's helping better understand the fluidity and unmasking

Time travel, and mainly going back and preventing the invention and evolution of social media. It died somewhere in 2009

I'm looking through these comments and I can't seem to find a common ground. One thing is for sure. If you're any sort of independent person moved out, living on their own, having a career, being a homeowner in their late 20s, like me. And and finding any sort of time outside of the 9-5 grind to do anything with friends if you have them - or if they moved away which is most likely the case, or if you work out at home and have gym in your basement like me- there's absolutely no way to meet or gai…

That's exactly what life is like after college and most people don't understand and aren't acutely aware and unless you have a strong group of friends that haven't moved away, then you're pretty much just on your own trying to figure out how and where to find a social circle. But let me tell you it's just not possible because everyone's either on dating apps or already settled down with someone. So trying to figure out a reasonable way to gain social proof without any intention of getting into a…

That last part is the cold hearted truth though. Corrupted through screens psychologically, it’s really technology to blame for the average Jane Doe.

I think this alone leaves a bigger question, as a collective hold , and with technology now, it has changed and fundamentally warped the pathways in that line of thinking. Media and information flowing everywhere always being distracted is something that’s a serious flaw that is not even noticed because everyone is sanitized to it as normality. That of which you can’t change.

Biggest issue? I’d have to say the whole build up process, getting chemistry leading up to a date and then just being dropped off at baggage claim at the turn of a hat. Nothing is consistent anymore. No one wants to put in effort despite showcasing it it from the phones screen but then it’s just the same game being played like chess over and over why. It leaves both people at a loss because even if you rationalize saying “this is just a hangout” “it doesn’t have to be anything more” it’s an invi…

Realistically - and even subconsciously women can choose to continue deny needing sex with men to be full filled, but that’s not true. It’s in human nature to l seek out and find pleasure and value in sex. I don’t understand why this is what society looks down on or looks the other way , which is stupid and convoluted. Sex is fun and to be desired. Sure you can have a path of goals and a main willing ness to strive towards career wise, but why deprive yourself of sex? That’s what society is now …
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/22 12:23 AM

It’s more important that a man has the social structure and networking outside of screen time- this becomes harder when aspects of school social circles and surroundings slip away and work becomes the norm in your late 20s (my experience) You can work on yourself to the point of infinity, gym, diet, mind what have you. If there isn’t a way to branch out and have friends to go out with on the weekends and the social backbone to support the progress it’s impossible to stand out as a high value man…

I still think what you’re seeing and what I also believe is that couples and men who act bluepilled and still have the relationship is because it was formed pre-dating app era. There’s still a large majority of people that even my age- 28 haven’t had to download any dating app because they settled for someone in their teens who they are still with. So basically the level of energy and attraction (if positive I’m assuming so if they are still together again many walks of life can fall into this) …

Same problem- for me it’s because I’ve gotten so grid locked into a routine with work and not working and what I do to keep up with my self care, on top of that my career doubles as a hobby I’m invested in. Any time I go out to bars I feel out of place and I always feel like I’m a thousand miles away thinking about what I need to do tomorrow, never living in the moment. Which is probably why I lost friends along the way, slowly stopped hanging out and became a busy body. It sucks because I can’t…

I agree but where does it go from here? Is the future really that bleak to think all these apps have permanently changed dating? I’d hate to believe that. But I’ve seen the transition over the past 10 years and more. You can eliminate yourself from the online part but it’s always there with every interaction, every plate, every time. Trying to keep their attention for long enough to maintain something stable is not possible anymore. And it’s completely messing me up.

This right here is the question to ask, where could it honestly go from here. I hate to say it maybe some sort of paradigm shift among males to not settle for this? Just seems like Gen Z is the most sanitized to this way of normalcy. Combined with Testosterone being a fruit of the past, stolen by the shaming of toxic masculinity in media- propagating our current status quo. I just don’t see the disinterested younger generations doing anything about it, which is flat out scary. Too invested into …

Bingo. Share the same thought. 10 years. All you have to do is go back 10 fkn years before the toxic chronic idiotic methodology women have now of dropping any guy for anything at all because the next best guy is a swipe away. Hate this society. And this internet age that brought this to life. What’s even more scary to think about where does it go from here?

I read through it all, and I can deeply relate. Especially with how the undertones you mentioned in conversations carry over and fit into the just view that helps with coming up to the societal baseline just to adequately fit in. I find myself struggling with loneliness in my late 20s- I won’t bore you with my words. I appreciate it.

I just desperately want to know where was the point in my generation (26-29 year olds) where in the last 5-8 years they deemed it totally necessary to change their attitude towards men and I believe dating apps played a huge role in this, where their options have inflated their ego making it impossible to settle with, and stay focused on one person
/r/askTRP09/02/21 04:04 AM

Yeah, especially the women that are so desperately holding that independence mentality in the late 20s like you know damn well it’s not going to last forever, you can’t act like you do f need men til the world ends but you will give in, those Instagram likes aren’t worth the screen you stare at all day. They refuse to maintain attention into one person like it’s a disease.

This. ☝️ anyone who says 30s are better than 20s are in denial. Unless you have a social circle to carry you over, chances are you’ll be alone because it’s inevitably harder to make friends beyond college. The weight of it all is pretty unbearable. I’m 27 and I refuse this outcome. What I don’t get is why attractive women my age refuse to put any effort into anything, this generation I’m sucks. It’s horse shit to the highest degree. I already know it’s because of my dating profile pictures, they are a few years old. I really want to make new ones but how can I possibly make new ones that look good and put in the world doing stuff. I refuse to take selfie’s. Really? I find that friends sort of give Social Proof to women. I mean I’m 27 and don’t have any friends and my career is my hobby so it’s rough for me.

Yeah I have this problem, usually because every interaction I have seems like a chore and unproductive- especially since women and dating in your late 20s is a waste land.

What? Exact opposite for me. I’m 27 too. Not sure where you even get girls now seeing as everything is closed and the apps are well.. the usual amount of disappointment. It’s been a drought for me for 4 years now. Just livin on my own focused on my career. No social game which doesn’t help.

Lol OP I can relate in an unfortunate way since I’ve taken part in this on weekends, in my late 20s. It’s a thrill in my downtime when I’m not getting any luck on dating apps. I just like the attention from girls to be honest but there comes a point that it is super unhealthy and equating it to a hobby would be something I could see myself saying but once you quit it’s better for your mind than to be plagued by that garbage on there.

COVID has helped foster this ideology even further to a point it wasn’t at before. While I don’t doubt the severity of what’s going on- introversion is at an all time high even those who would ever see themselves like that. Everything is done through a screen. Meaningless, emotionless text void of human expression. Often there’s two lives to people, online and offline. After screens it will develop into something even more distopian I feel like, implants maybe like Elon Musk wants but who knows …

I completely understand that barrier of not having anyway to even meet people, I’m 27 and I live on my own in a Townhouse. All I do is go to work, the gym, and chores on the weekends. Any resemblance of “friends” from HS or College I’ve lost touch with, my coworkers are all married, there isn’t exactly a way to meet people now during this pandemic on top of that. Paying half the amount of everything it costs in the city is worth it by itself. I live on my own in a townhouse in the burbs, also commute going all back roads to work which sucks. My social circle is non existent but that wouldn’t change if I was in the city anyway. Renting makes me wanna vomit. The only girls I match with on dating apps are ones fresh outta college moved back with their parents and playing the game hard.

Moved out 3 months ago, was 26. Got kind of lucky with swinging and being able to afford a new construction townhouse. First week was a shock. Somehow I mentally tuned out all the family drama of parents yelling brother arguing etc. Now I definitely enjoy the silence, it’s appreciated. Thing is, and I’m sure this won’t be the case with you-but many people come out of school quitting adderall in hopes that they achieved what they needed and they don’t need it anymore. Then comes the 40 hour work week, and the attitude starts up again “in order to get ahead” of others, and output as much work and grind harder than others to move up the pay scale, many go back to adderall for that reason. Pretty unique that you’re able to flip the switch back to your personality after such a shor…

Couple that with not having a way to organically meet people and relying on dating apps and getting matches that go no where, it’s impossible to get ahead especially working full time. Zero friends. No fault but my own. It’s like I see the unfortunate outcome trekking into my 30s alone, no feasible way to meet a girl. It just sucks. Been on Adderall for 4 years now daily, (27) definitely see the personality blunting and in effect makes my interactions with women boring. There are tons of students who use it during school but then when finished they just are able to “get off it” I have no idea how that’s possible. Any day I take off I’m literally bed bound. And you say you’re back to yourself in 2?? How?

I’m struggling with losing my personality completely after being on Adderall for 4 years now, I’m turning 26. My early 20s/late teens is the personality I want back, I don’t know what psychological barrier I have to get over from this robotic boring feeling that kills my conversations with females and makes them disinterested in me. Turning 27 this month and with 30 on the horizon I feel like life’s already over. Greatest hits were definitely late teens early 20s, didn’t see it back then of course. Every woman past 27 looks ridden hard and dating in your 30s with woman at that age is a straight boner kill. None of them look appealing. Everyone here seems to praise their 30s as being some new chapter of their inevitable ending up alone life, which I can see I’ll end up. You can dress up in your head that it’s going to be gre…

Because social media is the fuel that is injected into the horseshit state of society of how it is now. Validation, ego, all is overly expressed on there. It’s changed and manipulated the minds of females every where and will never be the same as it once was 10 years ago.

Definitely agree with you on the ego bit, it is a turn off for me too knowing that. In fact I’m 26 and I’ve never been to a strip club, it’s not my thing. I don’t see the appeal of throwing money at girls for a lap dance so you can blow one in your pants and use it as a memory later, I think it’s a waste. Then again so is wasting money on dates with girls that you pay their tab for in hopes to get something in return. Everything is a transaction at the end of the day, just your road as ends to a…

Thanks! Budget definitely stretched thin, trying to move into a Sys Admin/Net Admin role, been trying to study for possibly an MCSA/E cert something to stand me out, I feel limited though. I need to get outta the educational sector more than anything. Feels like a dead end. Everything closer to the city pays more that’s a given, which I wouldn’t mind. I’m pulling at strings. I mean, anyone that values their money knows that renting is literally taking xx $$ per month and setting it on fire. It’s a terrible long term strategy, real estate and owning your own place is a smart financial move once you figure out where you want to move to. Than again, you’re probably looking at pennies with that kind of salary so it doesn’t matter either way.

I take it you're rather new to Adderall, because you're emphasizing how it's boosting your confidence and focusing on the topic at hand and making you appear interesting. Likewise, it did that for me, years ago. If you keep taking it regularly enough (I'm prescribed) it will start eating away at your personality to the point where it makes you sound robotic. Eventually, those confident thoughts may or may not translate to critical anxiety-inducing ones. Whether not or it happens to you is a matt…
